A small black Pokémon strolled through the dark forest. He was using his luminescent yellow rings to light the way. His trainer walked beside him. The trainer was wearing a blue jacket and wore a black backpack on his back. He had black spiky hair and blue eyes. It didn't seem like he wasn't from here, perhaps he was from a different region.

As a matter of fact, he wasn't from the Kanto region, instead he was from the Kalos region. He was just visiting Lavender Town to go to the Pokemon Tower. A few weeks ago, he got a call from his grandmother who told him that her Meowth recently passed away and she wanted him to come and meet her at the top of the tower to say goodbye to the deceased Pokémon , so he did and he brought his trusty Umbreon  to protect him as he knew that this part of town didn't have a good history.

His Umbreon had a feeling that they were being watched in the gloomy forest. Every minute, he couldn't help looking behind his back just to be sure no one else was there. He was most commonly known as a cowardly Pokémon.

When they were only a few miles away from their destination, the Umbreon's ears perked as he heard something behind them. It sounded like a muffled moaning, as it made him jump.  However, his trainer did not hear the sudden moaning as his Pokemon's reaction got his attention.

"What is it, Midnight?" The Umbreon's trainer asked.

"Um-Umbre-re- Umb- Umbre- Umbreon Umbre; I think we're being watched, Derek" Midnight replied.

As usual, Derek didn't understand a word he was saying. At that moment, a Pokemon that looked like it was wearing a knight helmet leaped out of a bush in front of them.  Its arms were like jousting lances as it waved them around like a sword. Midnight stood in front of Derek to protect him. He was terrified as his heart skipped a beat, but he knew what he had to do. He had to fight.

Midnight ran towards the Pokemon to attempt to attack him with a tackle, but due to it waving its jousting lance arms, it seemed to be difficult to get a hit as Midnight tried to dodge them. Midnight looked into the Pokémon's eyes as they didn't look normal. Its eyes were darker yellow and pupil-less. He knew the Pokémon wasn't acting like itself because it was being hypnotized.

As Midnight looked into its eyes, the Pokémon managed to hit Midnight with one of its arms as Midnight hit a nearby tree by the impact.

The Pokemon did not stop, instead he was heading for Derek. Midnight tried to get up to save his beloved trainer but he collapsed to the ground, forced to watch his trainer's fate commence.

"No! Stay away from him!!! It's me, you want not him!!!! Fight me Escalvalier!!!!!" Midnight shouted at the hypnotized Pokémon, but it was no use.

The Escalvalier raised its right jousting-lance like arm as he stabbed Derek with it in the heart. Midnight watched his trainer's body hit the ground lifeless.

"NO!!!!!" Midnight screamed as the Escalvalier left him to mourn for his deceased trainer.
