Every person comes into our lives to teach us a lesson, and it's up to us what lessons we take from them.

Akash watched his brother in joy because of the smile plastered on his face after their encounter with that little angel.

He said a silent prayer to God for making this day a happy one as his brother who hasn't genuinely smiled in months was smiling.

But he knew it will be short lived immediately they enter the gates of RM.

They say family is a safe haven but to Akash and Arnav, it was the place they found the deepest heartache and betrayal.

And the saddest thing about heartache and betrayal, it doesn't come from your enemies but rather it comes from the people you love and cherish the most.

The sudden jerk of a car which was am indication that they've reach RM.

Akash was worried that Arnav will go back to his sad mood again but to his surprise the smile never left his face and more surprising was when he responded to Nani's greetings when they entered the hall leading to each of their respective rooms.

Akash stood at the entrance of the hall with a smile on his face as he watch Arnav took long strides to his room.

After Arnav disappeared to his room, Akash still stood in a trance thinking that today was not so bad, even though they couldn't speak to their wives, that little angel brightened up this day.

Akash reverie was broken by a tugging of his shirt, Akash look in that direction to see a smiling Nani looking at him with joy.

He wanted to reciprocate her smile but the shadows of the past clouded his head and he shot an anger look to Nani who looked done in shame knowing exactly what had made her grandson's smiling expression change to anger.

In her greed to save Anjali she lost both her grandsons. The same grandsons who looked at her with respect and adoration now look at her with disgust, anger and disgrace and she knew she had no one to blame but herself.

"What do you want? " Akash asked with anger and disgust lased in his voice breaking Nani out of her reverie.

Nani bowed her head in shame. Manorama who didn't like the way Akash spoke to her mother in law decided to reprimand Akash but it will be the biggest mistake.

"Hello hi bye bye why are you talking to your dadi like that, she is you.............. "

"ENOUGH" Akash yelled cutting off Mami and scaring the living daylight out of them. "What did you just say!............... Dadi? Which Dadi!? Huh! ..... The Dadi who claim to be the matriarch of this fake family. The Dadi who watched in silence at our atrocities against others. The Dadi that blackmailed and broke her own grandson to save her criminal granddaughter. And all just because he looked like his father and her criminal granddaughter looked like her beloved daughter. Bhai has been battling with his own demon since Ratna maa's suicide. The mere fact that he looked like his promiscuous father has always eaten him up and yet you did that." After that Akash paused and looked at his so-called Dadi and mother who were crying silently. Both wallowing in guilt of their respective crime. If it had been the old Akash he would have held back and apologized but his new Akash will never do that.)
" Bhai always took care of this family putting his life aside, working hours and countless day for us especially that criminal and sacrificing his life and love for us and yet what did he get in return!?
He got nothing but betrayal and pain. Mrs Jha was the one who was supposed to take care of the family but she left it to us her little siblings and took advantage of bhai's fears and silently controlled him with her sick sweetness and her limp, making all of us her puppets. And like the fool we all followed her blindly. "

By the time Akash was done, he was in tears and even the deaf and blind could sense his pain.

A heart broken Mami moved closer to console his son but Akash moved back like the touch of his mother was pure venom.

This hurt Mami who brought back her hand which was stuck in midair back. After a long pause Nani broke the silence.

"Akash please am sorry I didn't mean to upset you. I know I have lost my right on you both but I just want to know the reason behind my grandson's cheerful behavior (with a smile on her face)and I know only my bahus can be responsible for it. That's all Akash."

Akash then chuckled but not with joy but pain and said.

" I wish it was because of them but sorry to burst your bubble. It's not because of them. What we got today was nothing but pure unadulterated hate from them. "

"Hello hi bye bye so why were both of your so happy" asked a confused Mami and a curious Nani wanted for answers watched on.

"And why should I tell you both huh! You want me to tell you so that you can also snatch this little moment from us again or better yet demand something else" replied an Angry Akash " I warned you both stay away from bhai and don't you dare question him about his state today. Or else there won't be anyone worse than me. "

Devyani and Mami nodded in agreement and after that Akash then left to his room.

All this while the three of them were oblivious of the pair of teary eyes staring at them and listening to them.

Nani who was standing all this while with Mami almost fell backwards out of her illness and adrenaline of emotions she just experienced a few minutes ago but Mami was there at the right time and held her and made her sit down.

Immediately after Nani sat down with Mami by her side they heard a feline voice.

"What did you do Nani? "

Both raised their head to find a broken Anjali and immediately they knew she had heard everything and today they know what they are about to reveal to her will break her already broken self.

"Answer me Nani. What did you do? I mean what was Akash implying? "
demanded Anjali as somewhere deep down she knew it was related to her.

Nani couldn't bring herself to tell her and Mami knew it was up to her to tell. She asked Anjali to sit and told her her Nani's secret.

"A day after you turned yourself in to the police ,sasuma fainted and was admitted to the hospital. That was where we found out about her condition. I and your brothers, never left her side for a minute. Arnav was the most broken and blamed himself for it countless time and no matter how much Akash and I convinced him it wasn't his fault he won't listen. But what happened next destroyed Arnav completely. Unknowingly during the conversation Sasuma was already awake and said. "

Flashback begins

"You are right it is all you fault Arnav. " said Nani in a drowsy voice making everyone shocked.

"Hello hi bye bye what are saying sasuma. How can u sa............. "

Mami was immediately cut off by Nani.

" Yes it's all his fault. If he hadn't bought Sheeh mahal and meet Khushi, Anjali won't be in jail today and Shyamji wouldn't had cheated on Anjali. (Shocking everyone and breaking an already broken Arnav) I warned you not to buy that palace and yet you did what you wanted. That cursed place was the death of my daughter and you bought the death of our family. You and only you are responsible for our pain. Not only do you look like your father, you, just like him destroyed us all with tour greed and revenge. And only you can fix this mess you've created. "

"Enough Dadi are you listening to yourself. Everything bhai did was for us and no one else. Everything we own today is because of him. The name, the fame and wealth is all due to him. And don't forget we are all responsible for our mistakes and not him. You know how bhai feels about the past and yet you do this. Shame on you Dadi and you know something, today am ashamed to be related to you. " Akash angrily said and held on to Arnav's wheelchair and started moving it but it all of a sudden jammed that was when Akash realised Arnav has purposely jammed it using his controls. And he turn his wheelchair facing Nani who for some reason showed no emotions of remorse.

" What do you want Mrs Devyani Singh Raizada?. " Asked Arnav in a calm voice scaring Akash and Mami. Akash was about to retort but Arnav stopped him.

" I want you to redraw the case and support your sister in everything she does and wants to do without any complain" demanded Nani in a cold and bone chilling voice shocking Akash and Mami. Akash was about to retort again but one glare from Arnav was enough to stop him.

"And if I don't, what then? Arnav asked.

" Then get ready for history to repeat it self. I will kill myself just like my daughter and you will be the one to be blamed if you don't fulfill my demands"

Arnav coldly nodded in agreement and right in front of Nani called the commissioner to release Anjali, even the commissioner was shocked but agreed to release Anjali after Arnav signs some papers. This shocked Akash and he tried to convince his brother not to give in but Arnav won't barge and Akash had no choice but to support Arnav as he knew he had no one but him. Akash then mentally vowed to be the shield protecting his big brother. Arnav then moved out of NaNi's room but stopped and again turned back and said.

"Before I leave to free your beloved criminal granddaughter I want something in return"

"What do you want? " asked Nani not looking at Arnav.

"From now on you have not right over me. From now on you are dead to me. From now on you are no longer my family . Do we have a deal Mrs Devyani Singh Raizada" Arnav replied in a calm voice. Nani then turned her head and faced Arnav looking directly into his eyes and said.

" Deal as long as you free my Anju and fulfill all her demands without her knowledge of this conversation. "

Arnav then shook his head and left with Akash who threw a disgusted look at his Dadi. Mami reprimanded Nani but she never felt remorseful for her atrocities.

Flashback ends.

After Mami finished Anjali was crying beyond any consolation. She thought her brother did it out of love but never knew that he was blackmailed into it. Anjali the stood up and yelled

"How could you! .........How could you stoop this low. I hate you Nani and most of all I hate myself even more. "

"Am sorry please forgive me, I don't know what came over me please Anju forgive me. " A crying Nani pleaded

"What you did is unforgivable and besides am not the one to forgive you, chote is the one you have to ask forgiveness from. " Anjali said with tears cascading down her cheeks and she runned from there and entered her room took a picture of her and Arnav hugged it to her chest, fell on her bed asking for forgiveness and cried herself to sleep.

All this while another pair of eyes was searching everything from a far with remorse and in tears.

" Am sorry Nannav for misunderstanding you please forgive me. In my anger I hurt you even more...... Am just like them. " Thought Nk who left to his room and called Aman and informed him of what he had just discovered.

Aman on the other hand felt sick to his stomach and he started hating Anjali.

"Nk I don't know about you put we have to unite Akash, Arnav and our bhabhis and before you retort. I know it won't be easy but we have to try.

" You are absolutely right but we have to be careful. " Agreed Nk.

Both discuss their plan and they knew if their plan flops it will mess up everything but they were determined to unite Arshi and Payash and what they do not know was that DESTINY is on their side. And their plans will succeed.
