Nandini Gupta and Ashish Sood had an arranged marriage much to the disappointment of Ashish who had to leave Miranda his girlfriend.

Ashish's father knew about Miranda but knew immediately she was after his money so he forced Ashish to break up with her and marry Nandini who happens to be the daughter of a late friend and former business partner.

Nandini was a mixture of traditional and modern, an intelligent and beautiful woman.

Ashish who had to let go off Miranda on her insistence because she knew if they went ahead with their relationship then Ashish's father will disinherit him which she didn't want as she loved Ashish's money and not him.

Ashish got married to Nandini but hated her for being according to him the reason he had to leave the woman he loves.

Miranda and Ashish continued their illicit affair even after his marriage with Nandini.

Eleven months after their marriage Nandini got pregnant and gave birth to a son who was named Durga by his grandfather.

Nandini's happiness and joy knew no bounds but to Ashish, Durga's birth was to wash away his father's suspicion of his affair with Miranda.

Miranda was furious when she heard the news but calmed down after Ashish explained to her that  Durga's birth was just a diversion for them to continue their relationship and avoid being disinherited by his father.

Almost five years after Durga's birth Ashish's father died tragically in an accident on his way from a meeting.

A now eight months pregnant Nandini was devastated because of the death of her father in law who was more of a father than an in law.

Ashish was sad but also happy knowing he can finally be with Miranda who was also five months pregnant with their first child.

Ashish was prepared to divorce Nandini after she gave birth and provide her enough money to go away with their children so that he can finally marry Miranda but the true face of Miranda was revealed when the Ashish was told the Soods had lost everything they owned because of a Ponzi scheme.

This shocked Ashish and he went to Miranda's house to inform her about it and when he did Miranda who knew Ashish will no longer be able to provide the luxurious lifestyle anymore got furious and told him the truth that she didn't love him but his money and that he should forget about her and should not worry about his baby because another rich man will raise him as his.

An indication that Ashish was not the only man in Miranda's life. A broken Ashish went home in shock, tears and regret.

When he got home he asked Nandini to leave as he had no money to offer her anymore but Nandini who was truthfully in love with him never left him and promised to stay by him through the good times and the bad times.

This made Ashish guilty for cheating on Nandini with Miranda. He changed and started to gave more attention to his wife and a few weeks later he and Nandini became proud parents again of another baby boy whom the named Mohit after his father.

After a few years later, Ashish and Nandini  became the IT couple and one of the most wealthy family in India.

He never told Nandini about Miranda and their child out of fear of losing her especially after he realised what he felt for Miranda wasn't love but lust.

Durga was a quiet and reserved but extremely intelligent like his mother and his father was his idol and mentor , on the other hand Mohit the mamma's boy was intelligent but stubborn, adventurous and a rebel but a good boy.

To the outside world they were the perfect family and indeed they were but the shadows of the past is about to destroy it.

On Mohit's seventeenth birthday, Miranda showed up at the party with her and Ashish's son Mrityunjay aka MJ, Nandini who couldn't withstand the revelation and infidelity of her Godlike husband suffered a heart attack and was taken to the hospital.

At the hospital the doctors tried everything they could but knew it was hopeless and allowed the boys to speak to their mother knowing she had a few minutes left.

She made her sons forgive their father and accept MJ as their brother. The boys were shocked but accepted with a heavy heart.

Ashish was the last person to see Nandini who forgave him for his sins and begged him not to marry Miranda because she feared they will be mistreated and Ashish guiltily accepted and a few hours later she died.

That day Durga lost his respect for his idol and mentor and Mohit lost his goddess who happens to be his mother.

And for Ashish, he not only lost his sons but the love of his life Nandini. Mohit broke down because of his mother's death which happened on his birthday. Miranda didn't care about what her presence had done to them and for MJ he in awe of the majestic house he and his mother were going to leave in but felt sorry for the dead woman who died because of their presence but just like his mother he was born a money hungry person.

Ashish performed the last rites of his wife with Durga and Mohit. Durga and Mohit cut ties with Ashish immediately their mother's last rites ended. The presence of Miranda made things worst.

She had returned because the rich man she left Ashish for was already married and after his death she found out he was married and all of his wealth will go to his wife and children because her marriage with him was illegal.

So when she saw a news article about Ashish who just received an award for best business man award and with a little research she found out he was now the richest man in India and she knew it was time for him to fund her ridiculous lavish lifestyle again so she got in contact with Ashish but he refused to fund her anymore and threatened to kill her if she came in contact with his family.

This made Miranda furious and she took advantage of Mohit's birthday to make her presence and existence of MJ known.

Three months after that disastrous day. Miranda got her karma when the car she was driving on her way to her spa treatment burst into flames because of a fault in it engine.

She was taken to the hospital with 50% degree of burns. Even after the best surgeries by the best plastic surgery she looked hideous and not being able to live with her new form she committed suicide by slitting her throat.

Ashish didn't feel sorry for her and refused to perform her last rites as he blamed her and MJ for his wife's death and also never gave MJ any affection and MJ didn't care for he had money to spend recklessly.

Five months after Nandini's death Ashish has taken to alcohol to ease his pain and he was permanently relived of his pain when he died one morning after developing liver cirrhosis because of his drinking.

Durga and Mohit were devastated but pulled themselves together and performed Ashish's last rites. Durga took over his father business and fulfilled his mother last wish of taking care of MJ but avoided him like a plague.

Mohit joined the army and MJ lived party after party. A few years later Durga met and married the love of his life Anita. Mohit also met Sanaya and it was love at first sight but her father's greed made them hid their relationship.

For three years they were in a relationship in secret and the only one who knew was Anita, until Garima accidentally discovered their relationship but she was happy for her sister and was double overjoyed when Mohit asked her to call him her brother.

Unknown to Durga he had arranged Mohit's marriage to Urvashi and called Mohit back to marry Urvashi but when it was time to reveal this to Mohit , he found out from his wife about Sanaya. He wasn't happy about the relationship especially after his investigation results about Sanaya was to him unacceptable because of her father's fraudulent and womanizing behavior and was immediately against their relationship.

But he accepted when Anita convinced him otherwise and seeing the love his brother had for Sanaya he agreed but put forth a condition that they will only marry after Mohit was done with his deployment.

MJ who had became obsessed with Sanaya after seeing her picture in his brother's room didn't like it when Durga accepted Mohit and Sanaya's relationship.

MJ planned to do what ever it takes to separate them but fate was on his side when on Mohit's final deployment, their van run over a landmine killing most of his friends and badly injuring him.

Taking advantage of this MJ hid all the letters Sanaya wrote to Mohit.

This lead to a misunderstanding on Sanaya's side and she was even more broken with the murder of their unborn child by her father, so when Arvind Malik brought the proposal to marry Sanaya, she agreed thinking Mohit had betrayed her but Garima's timely intervention fixed their misunderstanding and united the two lovers.

MJ knew he had now lost Sanaya for good after he came back from one of his wild parties to find Sanaya in the house as his brother's wife. He left the house in anger to a club where he drank away his sorrows but it will turn up to be a big mistake for him.

Urvashi who couldn't get over the news of Mohit and Sanaya's marriage also went to the same club and took advantage of drunk state of MJ and a broken hearted MJ told her about his love for Sanaya and since she had lost her chance of being a bahu of the Soods she turned her attention to MJ and slept with him leading to a pregnancy.

You avoid any scandal Durga forced MJ to marry Urvashi.

MJ hated Urvashi but had to tolerate her because of his brother. MJ and Urvashi who couldn't get over their hatred for Sanaya, feed her abortion pills which caused her to lose two babies and the doctors said it was not wise for Sanaya to get pregnant again.

Urvashi and MJ rejoiced thinking their two motives had been fulfilled, one was to cause misunderstanding between Mohit and Sanaya and two was that their child will inherit the Sood wealth because Anita was barren and because of his love for Anita Durga refused to marry again and preferred to stay childless and Sanaya inability to conceive again automatically makes their child the heir to the fortune.

Urvashi and MJ left to London to have their child and after a few years returned to India to claim the properties only to find out that Mohit and Sanaya were still happily married and even had a daughter named Khushi how was only a year younger than Lavanya their daughter. They were furious knowing their plans failed and from the look of how Khushi was pampered they knew claiming the properties will be difficult so they decided that the easy way to do it was to get rid of Durga, Mohit and Khushi.

So a few days to Khushi's birthday she and her parents and uncle went to the temple to pray and there they discovered a shocking truth,  Garima's husband was already a married woman with kids so the immediately went to her house to tell her the truth.

Urvashi who was following them took advantage of this and tempered with the brakes of the car which caused their car to crash which killed Mohit and Sanaya as they sacrificed themselves to shield Khushi and Durga who was behind the steering wheel was hurt badly and slipped into a coma after they were taken to the hospital and doctors misdiagnosed Durga as brain dead.

MJ together with Urvashi immediately performed the last rite of Mohit and Sanaya. Taking advantage of the death of his brother and sister in law, MJ and Urvashi kicked Anita out of the house claiming she was the curse that killed Mohit and Sanaya.

And then left a traumatized Khushi at the hospital. Luckily Garima found her on time. Garima who without knowing the truth of her sister and brother in laws death blamed Arvind Malik.

Anita who was kicked out by Urvashi and MJ was also forbade to meet Khushi, so she left to her father's house only to find out it has been burnt to the ground. Whilst the loved ones mourned the lose of Mohit and Sanaya, 

MJ and Urvashi were enjoying not knowing their end will come soon. Three months after the death of Mohit and Sanaya, Durga woke up and after a few weeks he was alright even though not fully recovered. Anita who never left Durga's side told him everything that happened in his presence and the disappearance of Khushi and Garima.

Immediately Durga was discharged he had Urvashi and MJ arrested for fraud but Lavanya's cries made him release them and made them sign a document stating they forfeit any right to inherit any property and so with their tails between their legs they left for London.

Durga started to look for Khushi but all the results came out disappointing. But he never gave up and years later his PI finally found Khushi or rather a jilted Khushi.

Durga and Anita immediately set off to meet Khushi but discovered she and the family had moved to South Africa and the reason behind it.

Durga was furious at the Raizadas for what the did to his niece and vowed to destroy them but Anita talked him out of it especially after they discovered how Arnav suffered because of his bad choices and decisions.

They knew both loved each other immensely that's why he intentionally proposed the deal that will bring them together again and it succeeded.

An impatient Anita who wanted to be close to Khushi and her grandkids applied as the nanny for the kids and with some fake documents and recommendations and she pass and become their nanny and also updated her husband of their well-being.

But today they will no longer hid their identity because the evil that destroyed their lives years ago is back again but this time they are prepared to face them and protect Khushi this time around.
