6. Yin Yang: His balance

. . .

The murmurs followed from the celestial halls. Some despising, some in favour. The events had turned out to be such as no one ever speculated. Madam Yu was infuriated. Lan Quiren could not fathom what transpired, which made his dotted nephew defy not only him but also go against his own word. The room was silent, as the tense atmosphere was nowhere ceasing between the Royals and the Jiyang's. For the crown prince, Lan Wanji has refused to marry Princess Jiang Yanli.

Lan Quiren frowned pacing in an unnatural brisk manner.
"Huan, Wèishéme? (Why)" he asked in a stern but pleading to change the decision.

Lan Xichen quiet stood mist the elders, at heart, he did what was right. Yet unable to answer why he is refusing to marry Princess Yanli. He could not tell. What could he even say? Neither was Princess Yanli incapable to be the empress in any manner, let it be beauty, sophistication, knowledge, martial arts or even haute cuisine. Nor Xichen intended to soil her reputation.

"Your Highness, crown prince, I would be requiring the answer." Madam Yu roared as clan leader Jiyang held onto her arm calming down her anger.

"Your uncle asked Wèishéme? crown prince! (Why)" Madam Yu thundered again, pulling her arm back from her husband.  Her eyes turned violet as her rage was not to subsidise, as she pulled out Zidian. Let be the god or the crown prince. No one was to be spared. How could one stop when her precious child is insulted.

The Crown prince was in a difficult position. For the first time, the silence was not comfortable for Wanji. He was conflicted, worried yet knew Xichen was doing the right thing. The cheerful of the celestial tower gloomed down. But someone was yet unknown to what was happening. He adjusted the semi-transparent veil covering his mouth, trying to blend in the line of helpers as he sneaked his way into the celestial hall.

The masked person walked quietly with his head lowered as didn't want to be discovered. Holding onto the food tray he walked into the hall, hiding behind the gigantic pillars waiting for the opportunity to sneak into the chamber of the Royals.

He walked slower backing up as he quietly slipped inside. But what awaited him inside made me stood frozen in his tracks. And for once he felt that if he would have listened to Madam Yu's words.

"... It's not that. It's just. I just don't wish my wife to overpower my every capability." Xichen breathed frowning over his own answer as he looked apologetically to the elders.

" And umm.... I even.. don't ..lik-e."

"Nǐ shuō shénme? (What did you say?)" It was not Madam Yu who had stopped the crown prince but the Wei Ying as he stood midst the helpers.

"Nǐ shuō shénme? (What did you say?)" Wei Wuxian thundered emphasising each word. As he snapped his veil open revealing himself. His eyes turning and diming to a slight red colour as he walked forwards. He never meant to interrupt the banquet, he just wanted to see his sister's ceremony. But seems like fate has another plan.

The workers gasped. Young Master tricking them was not new. But he was the person everyone was thankful for not being present today, until now. Everyone knows how much he loved his elder sisters and anyone insulting them was seeking hell.

Madam Yu was stunned. Lan Quired frowned as he looked carefully. He could not remember correctly where he saw the young man. While Yanli looked at Jiang shi in worry who rolled her eyes mentally facepalming at the timing of her didi (little brother).

"Wei..Yi

"I asked what did you say, about Shijie? Your HIGHNESS!" Wei Ying mocked Xichen cutting over Madam yu.

Xichen was baffled over the attitude of the helper. While the Jiyangs' worried over his sudden arrival. But apart from everyone there stood someone, who was worried for the person in the helper's attire who stood enraged and questioning. His breath was erratic as a faint smell of the white lotus lingered by.

" I  apologise, I really never intend to insult your Shijie. But I clearly don't seem to like her. It is not her problem. It is just....just mine."  Xichen answeres Wei Ying giving a faint apologetic smile.

Wanji stood there clutching to Bichen as could feel the aura. The rage that envelopes the other person, the insult he feels and the love for his senior sister. He could feel every single thing his mate stood there feeling.

" HUH! But didn't you say you don't want your wife overpowering your every capability?" Wei Ying snapped reminding Xichen of his own words.

"A-Xia _" Before Yanli could utter Wei Wuxian looked, as he shook his head closing his eyes in plea telling her not to say anything to hold him.

" Ye.."

" OUT! Now. WEI YING WEI WUXIAN!" Madam Yu ordered interrupting Xichen. For she could see the frightening rage as his stepson's eyes turned and dimed to a faint red. Wei Ying's original form was to surface.

"NO, It is alright Empress Yu. I am truly sorry, but I really can not marry Princess Jiyang Yanli. She does not suit my demeanour. I really don't wish someone like Princess Yanli to be my future wife. I hope you would call off the betrothal." Xichen said bowling 90 degrees.

"Brother?" Wanji asked if it was necessary as he could feel someone's threading tolerance.

"HAHAHHAHA HA HA HA HA HA AHA HAH HA HA HA  HA AAAERRGHH HAHA!"

"So much for being the royals of the spirit realm. Madam Yu, would you really ask 'me' to leave at this point." Wei Wuxain infuriated pointing at the crown prince.

"Huh... His Highness indeed has a good eye. If a servant of the Jiyang's were ill-mannered. One could only imagine beneath the fake perfection how the princess' actually is." Sue She voiced trying to aid the image of Royals as Xichen himself sighed in despair. Because only a fool will say that the person standing was just a mere servant.

"After being acquainted as allies for years, the Royals themselves proposed the marriage. And now on the final moment you back off! Was it planned to humiliate us?" Wei Wuxain roared as his fisted hand trembled in his subsidising rage.

"Why don't you look onto your Shije!? We don't think the Royals will do something without a reason." One of the guests voiced.

" How You dare insult Shije, IN FRON OF ME?" Wei Ying said, his voice literally shaking the walls of the celestial halls as he reached clutching the person in yellow robes. He ignored and ignored and tried to focus on the actual matter at hand. But his tolerance had snapped as the people try to shift the blame to his beloved sister for the third time.

" Wei Ying, .." Before his beloved sisters or his father could reach out to calm him, someone among the crowd uttered  "I also heard the rumour that one of the Princess had affairs with La Ling Jiang sect's Jin Zixuan"

Wei Wuxian knew how cruel people can be, how filthy, how meanly one could turn to blame the innocent victim, siding with the powerful beings. He has never had a good childhood. He lost his mother at a young age, being hunted down on a peaceful on a vacation. His loving father married a woman who does not acknowledge him even as a member of the family making him hid his identity from almost everyone. He was always bullied as he could not show his spirit being's form. But it was his Shijie who understood him and protected him. She is nothing like what the people trying to say but kind not only to him but to everyone. And defaming her with her who rejected her after claiming to be a so-called lover. Yet Yanli never stopped loving that brat and still treated him politely. She was anything but kind. She was the hope he saw in dark. And how the hope was lost. Not only people from the Su clan were tainting her, but some in the Jiyang's too. It was unbearable. The hope was indeed lost, Lost within the malice, lost in the fury he holds towards such people. Wei Ying's choker snapped into two, unleashing his suppressed powers.  A dark aura emitted from Wei Ying's body as his eyes turned into a red-black ombre. He smirked summoning his flute 'chenqing' and played a tune that lifted the person of the filthy tongue into mid-air chocking his breath away.

Drowned in hatred Wei Ying plays a bit more intensely, transferring Yanli's mental state to a physical pain for the so-called person to bear. He does not intend to kill but maybe scare them.

The workers and the servants screamed in horror, as the Royals were bewildered. No one had ever seen such spiritual power, even the people in Jiyang manor never saw their young master using his powers. "He is a deviled spirit" someone called out. "Kill him," someone else said. "Yes, Kill him, he has gone mad, He will kill us all." Someone added.

"How dare you, Kill someone who was just making someone remember his position to say such words to the princess." Madam Yu was engaged, as she transformed into her semi-human form of the white lightning tigress standing in font of  For these people have gone beyond her patience to hold. First, Insulting her child and now they intend to kill a being from her clan. Impossible, IMPOSSIBLE under her watch. This Wei Wuxian has might have always been a disaster to them. They had to go to such extents to just protect this last nine-tailed child. But all was in vain as this brat had to attain his full power way before his speculated age, right in front of a crowd full of people.

"Empress Yu, Wei Gongzi, It was indeed our fault, please." The Crown Prince tried to calm the situation as Lan Quiren hummed with his frowned expression to how the situation has escalated. They were not here for this.

Wei Wuxian stopped playing calming himself down as the person finally fell to the ground breathing faintly with tears stained across his face that gave a pained expression. There was a faint red mark of a wrapped tentacle on the person's neck with white dots. Everyone thought the chaos was over when someone looked over the mark and trembles in fear "The mark of death?" he whispered.

" He... He... HE IS A DARK CULTIVATOR." The person pointed to Wei Wuxain as he trembled falling over the floor.

The place came to a standstill, reclaiming the silence before a horrendous storm.

" The Jiyang's helping a dark cultivator?" Lan Quiren was shocked beyond his wits. Being allies for more than hundreds of years, he never knew what his allies were hiding. He never knew the friendship he wanted to turn to a marital tie would turn such away.

"They must be executed." Sue, She voiced.

"Kill them."

"Execute"

"Outrageous"

"Kill"

The whispers turned to mumble and it turned to roars. The Royal clan did not order to attack as they must be handled by the laws. For betrayal. Trying to calm the situation at hand was of no use. The people were enraged at such audacity to aid a dark cultivator underneath such a respectful

As a Jaded Dagger zipped through in aiming towards Wei Ying as Madam Yu crashed her Zidain redirecting the dagger from Wei Ying.

"AAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" A fierce voice of brimming anger and despair, burst through the halls, as a darker aura now evolved from him enveloping every being present. Wei Wuixain's eyes gleamed red as held a figure crying, revealing his semi-human form of nine-tailed. The reflected dagger has stabbed Princess Jiyang Yanli.

The people were stunned. It was the dark nine-tailed. No wonder, the dark cultivation. Afraid yet empowered by numbers the people decide to kill the creature, the cause of abomination."The nine-tailed no wonder Jiyangs were bewitched." People murmured, as they unsheathed their weapons, clashing with the Jiyang's who protected him. Some workers fled in fright. Even, the people of the Royal Su Clan who were trying to control the situation then sought to capture the creature.

Wei Wuxian was hurt, infuriated and filled with hatred as he saw how the betrothal banquet turned to death's feast. His own family was hurt due to him, WHY? WHY? WHYYYYYYYYY?? A  screeching pain dominated his mind as he took 'chenqing' to his lips again. Playing to stop, to stop this pain, this chaos, this hurting of his beloved family. But the more he played the more people who came in their way trembled in an unfamiliar pain as a black whisping aura lifted the people who came to attack. Xichen's eyes widened feeling the tremendous amount of resentful energy as he also clashed to protect his people who were attached by the coming Jiyang's army.  He is worried, conflicted and angry thinking that he was to blame for all this somehow. His eyes wandered searching for Wangji, who was nowhere to be found.

The clans fought mercilessly for what seemed to be the right thing. The Su clan for capturing the creature, others trying to kill, some thinking if they could get to eat this underaged nine-tailed how powerful they would be.

However, someone stood riding feets above in the air, within a calm calculated distance over the tower. His white robes flew with the air, the sun shone upon, as his tail moved in rhythm keeping him afloat. As he was someone who truly intends to do the right thing.

'Outrageous' Lan Wanji thought as his hand clenched in rage as he remembered himself, standing in the halls chained in so-called restraints while he had to watch someone being insulted and attacked. If given the freedom he truly wished to cut their tounges out for uttering to kill that person in front of him. Calming his own darkness down, with cool cold air that rushed by, he summons his guqin.

Playing the tune, Wanji's cultivated music cracks the tower open wide, as the music powerfully halts people to attack each other. His pristine robes flutter in the air as Wanji descended down, playing 'the protection'. Stanging beside him in Wei Wuxian, somehow stabilising Wei Ying's dark energy.

A majestic blue aura surrounded Wei Ying defending from every attack, while Wanji takes away his forehead ribbon, letting his spirit take over his human form transforming to a white enigmatic jade dragon. With long white horns, scaled in beautiful glimmering jades. It looked dangerously powerful yet it was gentle to the small dark creature beneath.

'Don't be sacred, they shall be fine.' the jade dragon speaks to his mate's mind as he curls around, carefully nudging the nine-tailed semi-human across his cheek calming Wei Wuixan down.

The darkness subsidises as Wei Ying finally opens his eyes, stained in tears. Looking at those pale pleading eyes, Wei Ying carefully and shyly rests his forehead touching the dragon's. "Shijie's hurt, because of me. She is human, I can't heal." he sniffles. 'Not deep' Wanji answers through mind, looking into those terrifying red eyes. Which were nothing but terrified to lose the people he loves. To him, the spirit creature was noting but sacrificingly kind.  The Dark aura collied with the blue turning as yin yang. They were lost. Midst the prying eyes of the people yet A-far form them all. Drowning in each other. One in the pristine purity of kindness and one in the dark desires to hide a precious being from the clutches of the cold world.

One, an incarnation as the pure the light of God and the other, an incarnation of the deviled darkness as sinister punishments of hell. Fascinating fate it was, for them to be falling in love. Poles apart, they were black (wrong) and white (right).  They were each others' Yin and Yang. They were the balance to them.

. . .

A/N - What does fate hold now that Wei Ying's identity is disclosed?

Another unedited, break writing. Since it didn't end with 2/3 chapters, turned it into a separate book. It is still a short story though. Comment if the drama was satisfying?
