Part Twenty: Try To Get Along. Is That Hard?

Hey guys, sorry that it took a long time for me to update. I've been working on a story and for the next chapter but I just decided for this to be first.

"Why don't you know?!" Marinette ranted in front of an angry and irritated Adrien. They were at the mansion. The Pierre Mansion to be exact. Arguing in a kitchen, filled with SO many problems.

"Isn't it your fault?!" Adrien twitched his brows with his green eyes in fury. Why am I such a small guy? He thought, deep inside, bonking his head on a wall.

But it really is my fault.. Marinette thought, in the same situation. All shy to express her true feelings. "Ugh. Stupid Adrien!" She blurted out of nowhere.

"You're really not cute!" Adrien turned away from her angry face. Gah.. I'm really the idiot.

"Cute?! Who says you thought I was cute?!" Ah.. Why am I the stupid one..? Marinette was killing herself. She wanted to smack her head of what she was saying.

"Learn it from Abigail!" Adrien snapped. But..Marie never stops with that.. He brushed his nape mentally.

Why. The. Hell. Can't. I. Apologize?! Both of them thought in their minds. Well, wha da ya know. Even in their minds, they're in sync. "What's with that expression? I hate it!" Marinette stomped her foot on the ground.

"Same here!" Both of them looked away from each other. Completely regretting the whole thing. "I don't want to see your face too!"

"Well, I don't care!" Ahh.. what am I saying? Marinette regretted. Abigail, Roy, Dante and René busted in the kitchen to see the two agrue.

"What do you think you guys are doing?" Abigail asked them. "Because of your chain of trust breaking more than usual, Guardian Council's headquarters is starting to wreak in havoc! The lights are starting to flicker and the walls are cracking!"

"She/He started it!"

"Oh boy. Looks like there's a mutual fight going on." Roy put his hands on the back of his head and remained fixed. He watched the couple argue.

"I agree. It's familiar with a sibling fight but this is a spouse." Dante concured, raising a finger.

"So, with this type of fight, wouldn't they..divorce?" René raised a brow, glancing at the Twins Hearts and then his associates. The two shrugged and continued to watch Abigail keep the couple from strangling each other.

"Whoa. Whoa, there, feisty couple!" Abigail splitted then apart. She held Marinette tight while Adrien was unfortunately being held by René. Adrien was afraid of the darkness in René's eyes and his strong grip. "You two try to get along. Is that hard?"

"Yes!"

"Gah, you know what? I'm taking you somewhere, Marinette. Let's talk this out!" Abigail dragged Marinette to her room and with Adrien dragged to the living room by René.

"What exactly happened? Why were you two suddenly yelling at each other?" Abigail placed her hands on her hips as she stared down at an annoyed Marinette who kicked her legs on the bed.

"Well, it all started when Adrien and I were doing chores.."

A brief flashback went into her mind. Marinette was washing the plates while Adrien was cooking. "Hey Marie, can you get the salt for me please?" The salt was near the sink, along with the other spices.

Marinette glanced at him and huffed, "You do it! I'm not your..personal maid or something!"

Adrien grown an irk mark and said, "It's just a request! Why won't you do it?!" He marched up there and took the salt. "If purifying an akuma is simple enough for you then why can't you pass out the salt which is, I don't know, simpler than defeating a villain?!"

Marinette turned and ranted, "And how about you?! Are you afraid of salt?! You can't go near it 'cause that kitty nose of yours might sneeze?!" She then sniffed the air and smelled something bad, "And what is that stench?!" The bad odor trailed off to lead her eyes on Adrien's cooking pot. "Seriously, has your father ever taught you cooking lessons?!"

"No! Abigail was the only one since she went to New York!" Adrien snapped before walking back up to his cook to tilt the salt. He grumbled, "Tch, as if you can even cook good enough."

"Then how about you? As if you even have the brains to cook a proper meal." Marinette grumbled which rendered Adrien mad.

"What was that?!"

"You know what I said!"

"I don't!"

"Why don't you know?!" At the end of the flashback, Marinette gripped on her head and whimpered, "Gah, just think about it makes me feel guilty!" Her lips frowned with her eyes representing regret. "Feelings that turns into circles without being played. Have you ever experienced that?"

Abigail blinked.

"Well, all I can say is that you weren't being obedient enough. Just because you think of him as half an enemy and crush doesn't mean that you have to be disobedient. You two are living together and the Twin Hearts Miraculous. You have to work as a team, even at the house where you get to do chores."

"I guess I have to say sorry, huh?" Marinette grasped on a pillow and pulled it onto her chest. She also pulled her legs to her chest and gripped on her pillow.

"Yeah, but it is Adrien's fault either way. You decide if you want to be the one apologizing."

"Annoying pride. That's all you have towards her." René curtly told Adrien who just finished telling the same story. "A girl's feelings would never be fooled by somebody's pride, especially an annoying one. Looking down at people proves that you're a bad person."

"Aren't you like that?"

"Well yeah, but Rena is more like that and I accept that I'm half of a bad person and a good one since I save France a lot. But pretty sure you don't like being considered as a bad person no matter how small the truth is. You're pretty sensitive. That's the reason why you started the fight with her. Learn how to be relax for once. Just because she disagreed with you doesn't mean that you have to be angry. Learn how to be..emotionless, only a bit. Rena and I always had fights like this but we always ended up apologize from time to time. I guess you have to apologize if she doesn't. It's mutually your and Ladybug's fault."

Adrien groaned and bonked his head on the couch's cushions, "I don't know what to say! What if she calls me a pain and laughs at me?! I'll only humiliate myself in front of the girl I like!" Roy sighed and slopped his lazy self on the couch beside Adrien. Dante sat on the couch's middle in a well-mannered position.

Dante covered his mouth with his book and glanced at Adrien with reluctant eyes, "So, if you like her.. Then why did you yell at her?"

"I don't know!" Adrien bonked his head on the couch's backrest, leaving the three people who were sitting on it bounce slightly.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa there! Calm down!" Roy told him. "Just apologize to her. If she doesn't forgive you then she'll soon know that it was her fault as well."

"What if she doesn't think it was her fault?"

"That's severely impossible, unless AQ was actually taking this whole seriously." A sweat trailed on René's cheek when Adrien yells at him for using the word "unless". It was a hopeless word for Adrien and he was lucky that he didn't get a badass reply from René.

"You know, Marie, if you're that scared to apologize, you just have to wait for Adrien." Abigail told Marinette before leaving her alone in the room.

"And if he doesn't, what should I do?"

Thus, Abigail stopped her tracks and cocked her head to her. She smiled and replied, "You say sorry." She left the room with Marinette groaning helplessly.

Marinette groaned and smacked her head with a pillow, crying out, "This is hopeless! He'll never come!"

Tikki flew out of her pocket and giggled, "Oh Marie. You sound like a girl hopelessly waiting for her date.." Marinette promptly groaned and curled herself up to a ball. Tikki playfully giggled and rested on her holder's kneecap, "Just kidding. Don't worry, he'll come! But if he really doesn't then you have to apologize."

"Apologize? To Adrien?" Marinette perked her head up and said, "That'll never happen. I'm too much of a coward that I can't do anything. There's no way we can surpass the Guardians, especially Dante and Zariffe. I can't even pass the salt." She heaved out a heavy sigh, "I'm worthless."

Tikki's lips briefly frowned but then switched into a happy one. She slithered a smile over her lips and asked, "Marinette, who was the one who saved Paris?"

"Huh? Ladybug and Chat Noir."

"And who's Ladybug?"

"I am."

Tikki laughed and said, "See? You can do anything! That's why Fu entrusted you the Ladybug Miraculous to you. That's why Abby left you and have you decide the whole thing. That's why you were chosen to be the one who gives birth to the Savior. Everybody trusts you. They're depending on you, even the Guardians and the Spirits amongst the Guardians."

Marinette gave her a small smile and agreed, "You're right. Thanks, Tikki." She felt a twinge of happiness but then racked in depression. "But..I can't apologize.. I just can't.. Whenever I see him, I just..can't say things clearly." She groaned and dug her face on her pillow. "The obedient me.. I wonder where it is.. But the word, sorry... It's natural to say it but not easy when it comes to someone you deeply feel nervous with." She inagined herself tucking Adrien's sleeve and apologizing but it only made her state worse. She groaned, "I can't face this.."

"Guys, I've got a call from Leo." Roy said, covering his mouth with a couch cushion. The others glanced at him. "Should I answer it? I mean, if I do, I already know what's he gonna say first. He's gonna yell at me 'cause there are fiftheen missed messages and they all say somethin' about Guardian Headquarters."

"Guardian..Headquarters?" Adrien cluelessly questioned.

"Guardian Headquarters is basically where the Guardian Council is. You do know that it has many spare rooms for people to stay and a park for us Guardians to spar or train with one another." Dante explained. "But it is also a place for other Miraculous Holders to discuss things. These Miraculous Holders are most likely our juniors or Fu's assistants. They help around and report what's been happening among the other locations in France."

René turned to Roy and said, "Well, answer it." He rolled his eyes, prompting Roy to shrug and answered it.

Adrien faced the body mirror and was practicing how to say sorry. His cheeks puffed as he faced himself. "Just pretend that the mirror is Marinette.. No biggie." René curtly brisked, folding his arms.

"Say it fair and square." Dante added, crossing his legs as he still sat on the couch and read a book. René oddly sticked a picture of Marinette on the mirror's screen.

"Just imagine this is the real Marinette."

"Where did you get the picture--"

"Don't ask, Mr. Bastard." René cutted off Dante brazenly. His badass side was back. He turned to Adrien and adviced, "Don't be scared. Just do it! I'm being nice, alright?!" Adrien batted his eyes and thusly shrieked.

"You're scaring him, Ren. And that's not nice." Dante told him and earned a brazen glare that could end one's life. But Dante just shrugged. He was used to his bestfriend's souless glares.

Adrien looked over to the picture of the mirror and his lips jiggily frowned. "S-S-S-S-S--Ckk, I can't do it!" He gripped on his head as he turned away from Marinette's picture.

"Having completely hopeless guts is not awesome. Have more guts or else I'll have René to dissect you." Leroy stated, having a conversation with Leo after saying the statement. He walked outside the room and headed to the garden to make the chat clearer.

"Yeah, and I'm ready for anything." René had a smile but not the same smile from when he was a kid or was pretending to be ecstatic. It was a smile of a major sadist. He had his scalpel ready and said, "Listen, Calamity King, if you don't tell the Aurora Queen how you feel about this 'till dawn, I swear I'll dissect every part of your guts. Literally. A frog's not the only thing I can torture."

Adrien gulped and squeaked, "Please not."

"And don't tell you're going to say sorry just because you're afraid of René dissecting you. You have to apologize with honest feelings." Dante told him from afar, from the couch. "Bastard." His eyes filled with darkness, as if he was from a shallow world. The way he acted in front of Jarell before was shown again. His moody side.

"Meep." Adrien squeaked. "Don't worry. I won't." He faced Marinette's picture and bit his lip, "S-S-Sorr.. Sorr.. Sorr.. Gah, I can't!" He crashed himself on the ground, making René sigh. He ripped off the picture and crumpled it on a piece of paper.

"Gosh, think the whole thing out." René thrown the paper ball over his shoulder and it shot inside a bin. "We're leaving. You need some time alone anyway. Let's go, Dante." He said before leaving with Dante.

"Sure.. Sure.." Dante mumbled and gave one last moody snd menacing glance at Adrien before he left. Adrien blinked and shooked that image of Dante's scary side off his mind. He startdd to think about Marinette and his feelings. His true feelings.

These feelings.. Both Adrien and Marinette recovered and thought. I have to tell her/him properly. They sat up and ran off the room. If I didn't go right now, we'll never able to see each other ever again! Adrien headed to Marinette's room while Marinette headed to the living room. It's because..I am in love with Marinette/Adrien! They met up on the hall that was between both rooms.

"Marinette/Adrien!" Both of them called. They stopped and gazed at each other with their eyes husky and serious. They were too serious that they weren't aware that both of them were in sync. "I want to tell you something!"

You two are living together and the Twin Hearts Miraculous. Abigail's voice said inside of Marinette's mind. You have to work as a team, even at the house where you get to do chores.

Annoying pride. That's all you have towards her.. Adrien thought. He heard what René said from his mind. A girl's feelings would never be fooled by somebody's pride, especially an annoying one. Looking down at people proves that you're a bad person.

"Um, Um, you know.. Actually.." Marinette started, twiddling her fingers to one another.

"There's something I want to say.." Adrien stated, "I.. I.."

Both of them heaved a deep sigh, "I wasn't very obedient.." Said by Marinette.

"I was being too sensitive."

"And..I'm sorry!" They both said and laughed at each other. Marinette was giggling and Adrien was laughing. This was a happy moment they shared for the first time. After a moment, Adrien stopped laughing and asked, "So, we're cool?"

Marinette still giggled and replied, "Yeah, we're cool." They walked out of the living room where no one was there except the two of them. "I can't believe both of us were thinking and regretting the same thing!" They were laughing about their mistakes and what they experienced earlier. Even though onlookers might be fooled by it, they looked close.

"Yeah. Can't you believe it?" Adrien laughed as they made their way outside and to the garden. "I see. Abigail was the one who guided you.. That does kinda make sense. Abigail's knowledge is strong and very useful when it comes to crises."

"So let me get this straight. If you don't apologize to me 'till sundown, René would dissect you?"

"Yeah. He still got my nerves there. Roy gave him the whole idea."

They laughed together and walked together like a couple taking a stroll in a park. Marinette paused and her expression changed into a sad one. "Wait. So if you're scared of René dissecting you, I guess that means you didn't really mean the apology, huh?"

Adrien stopped his tracks and faced her. He smiled and clasped on her hand with his, "Marie, I really meant that apology. I didn't do it just for my sake." Marinette smiled back, feeling happier. She intertwined her fingers on his. They looked like a couple who just took another stage of their lives. Suddenly, a shade of pink and green aura engulfed and surrounded them. After realizing, they brush their fingers away from each other.

"What was that?" Marinette asked fearfully.

"That was Resonance." A voice chimed in.

They turned and saw Dante and the others. Thus, they were startled by this. "Gah, Dante, Abigail guys! Don't do that!" Adrien freaked out.

"You scared us!" Marinette flipped out as well.

Dante who was the one who spoke up earlier slit out a chuckle. He held his book on his chest and said, "My apologies. I wanted to give you an explanation about this new ability you two have."

"A-Ability?"

"Resonance is a power only mustered by the Twin Hearts Miraculous." René explained, with his eyes blaring which scared the two. "This happens when you touch each other and feel happiness or either have the will or resolve."

"By touching one another, you generate what is called Resonance. You can assume that you can hear one's faint voice when they are akumatized or controlled by a power of Miraculous by Resonance." Abigail continued what René left off. "It is an immense power that is stronger than the people of the Guardian Headquarters or us Guardians. Possibly your level with that power could reach Adele Miraculeaux. No one else is capable to use this. This power will help you two explosively boost your power, forming you two as one. This is one of the secret powers you two can use, but only as a pair."

"Secret powers? You mean there are others?"

Dante chuckled a bit, closing his eyes the whole time. "Forgive us but we can't tell you the rest, Fu won't allow it. If we did, wouldn't that make you stronger than us? We can't afford you two recklessly fight Jarell Divell or Hawkmoth already. You might die if you try defeating Adele and Mizell's only son. We know that it is part of the deal but the Twin Hearts are very valuable. We can't afford losing you."

They sighed, "Fine.."

"Hm, that's right, I almost forgot one thing." René spoke up. "Resonance is capable of purifying somebody. Therefore, you may not need Ladybug's yoyo anymore. Additionally, you aren't supposed to use Resonance too much or else it'll drain you out. Could make you black out for two or three days."

"That's what it said from the book." Roy sighed, yawning. "There are more secrets hidden from Resonance so you try to find it out on your own. The rest of the information isn't written in the book. Adele might have done it in purpose so that Jarell Divell can't steal information." He pulled out his Guardian Pin and proclaimed, "Anyways, Fu said that you two are free to train in Headquarters." He said before clicking the pin's button and they were transported to council.

They looked around the area. They were at the forum where only Guardians can stay in. "Twin Hearts!" They turned and saw Lyra coming down the stairs with Leila by her side. "I'm so glad you two are in piece. I heard there was a fight!"

"Um, it was a fight about the Twin Hearts, not an akumatized villaim, Lyra." Leila sweatdropped as she laid beside Lyra. They seem pretty close but they weren't. They were just friends and the youngest members of the council. The two girls were wearing their superhero outfits. Lyra wore her sunset dress that was part of her serpent body but now she was fully in her human form and wore the dress all over her body. Leila was wearing her Scarlet Wren outfit.

"So you two took care of the 'Sera Moth problem'?" Abigail raised a brow.

"Yeah. There was no one else in the council that was present enough to team up with so I generally picked Lyra." Leila replied with a smile. "Leo was busy with something and Dante went with you guys. We just finished defeating another villain."

"Big Brother, what happened to that girl you and Rena brought?" Lyra asked her brother, obviously.

Everybody turned and laid their eyes on Ren. "You..brought a girl?" Abigail blinked. That was so not René. They thought what Lyra meant by was a date or something but it was actually something opposite.

"Huh? You mean Charlotte? Technically, Rena and I brought her here 'cause she was a villain and I'm not interested in dating someone." Ren growled with his teeth turning canine. "She's like..our new prisoner and hostage."

"It'll be hard to get along with René since he's now a badass than a psycho. Even changing won't get him a girl." Dante noted which caused Ren to roll his eyes.

"Tch, says the guy who had no love in his life 'till Lyra arrived."

"Lyra's my girlfriend now. You're still single, Ren."

"No one's gonna love meh and I don't even bother trying to find 'the right one' for me." He airquoted, much to Roy's laugh. "What's so funny?"

Roy slinked his arm across his shoulder and teased, "Don't be shy, Ren. It's not a shame to admit that you're a virgin.." Dante laughed along with him.

"Bastards! Know your place!" Fire breathed out of Ren's mouth. And what we mean by fire breath out of one's mouth, it's something different than literal. Roy jutted his tounge out and blown a raspberry. As for Dante, he had a smug grin on his face and chuckled playfully. They ran away from Ren's wrath, prompting Ren to basically run after them. "Get back here, jackass!"

Ethane came in, wearing a black robe. He didn't have a mask over his face. I guess Guardians can remove their masks even though they naturally don't come off. His eyes trailed on the Twin Hearts and the angry René. "What the hell..did I miss?"

"Ah, Ethane, perfect timing!" Abigail creased a smile and walked up to Ethane. She dragged him to the couple even though Ethane was one of the cold-natured members of the council. But Abigail was cold too and she rarely requests something to her associates. "You've once trained Ara, right?" She pushed him in front of Adrienette. He didn't seem to bother Abigail's desires and instead behaved well. "Train the Twin Hearts. They just learned Resonance!"

"Resonance..?" Ethane monotously asked with a inscrutable face. "Hm, I haven't heard that name ever since.. It sounds so obsolete." He heaved out a heavy sigh and replied, "Fine.. I guess it wouldn't hurt." They went to the Ancient Garden: a park-like place, filled with fountains, grass and trees but had ancient markings in every tile. This is were Twin Hearts can train in since the Training Room was burned by Dante.

Ethane snapped his fingers as a boulder fell out of the sky out of nowhere, making the couple shriek and held onto each other. Ethane was unfazed and monotously implied, "Lift the boulder up with Resonance. Resonance is capable of lifting objects like telekinesis." It took a while for the two to calm down and focus on their task. Adrien bravely held Marinette's hand and she rouged a pink blush on her cheeks. "Focus on what's important. Think of nothing else but to lift the boulder." Ethane guided them.

And they did so. Marinette's blush faded away and took the whole thing seriously. The Resonance aura came back but it was thicker now. The couple aimed their clasped hands on the boulder and watched it surround with the same aura that had surrounded them.

A smile formed on their lips but the smile then frowned in horror when the boulder abruptly pierced through a hole, emitting a hole. Actually, three holes. It made holes of each wall cumulatively. The Twin Hearts blinked as Ethane stared at the holes with lazy eyes. "Huh? Oh boy." And then the boulder came right back, launching towards the three. They were in danger, except for Ethane who only had to move aside to avoid the hit. Fortunately, the Twin Hearts used resonance to take control over the hit, replusing, "Well, at least you guys got it right now." Ethane mumbled. "But this is repulsion."

"Idiots, who tries to loft but insteadthrows a boulder at someone?!" A voice ranted and they know exactly who it was. René came out of the hole, with the strings on his gloves flowing.

Adrien's eyes shot open. "Y-You were the one who threw the boulder back?"

"Well, what do you expect?" René folded his arms. "Would you afford Ethane to summon another and leave a boulder stuck in Headquarters forever?"

"Fair point."

"Resonance wasn't a good idea. You two don't think right." René snapped and turned to Ethane. "Ethane.." The two locked eyes on one another. The atmosphere changed into a menacing one. These two don't get along that's for sure.

"What do you mean don't think right?" Marinette interrupted their gazes at each other.

René glanced at her and replied, "One of you must've thought of something than the desire of lifting the boulder. You two have to master this or else defeating Jarell could be impossible by the next time you encounter a fight with him."

"And we both know how idealistic Jarell Divell is, right?" Ethane sarcastically told them and then stayed to the serious part. "Anyways, what you did right now is Resonance: Repulsion. Resonance has three forms: Repulsion, Strike and Drift. You can boost your power by this, making you stop, destroy and lift anything possible or impossible."

"But we're not as strong as René who just lifted up a boulder for pete's sake!" Adrien told him which made René raise a brow.

He put his hand up, showing the strings on his gloves. "I originally use these nearly unbreakable strings on my gloves to lift and crush objects immediately but this is not my power. This is." He snapped his fingers as purple mists engulfed his hand. He waved it at a tree, prompting the tree to be cut down and leave the Twin Hearts' jaw drops. "Wave Of The Demon's Puppet is a technique to destroy everything I wave at. This is similar to Jarell's power but there are different..things."

"So you're implying that he's stronger?" Ethane monotously asked and earned a shrug by him. "He can slice a moutain in half, can he?"

"He can but Zariffe's sword effects are stronger. Remember that time when Zariffe recklessly sliced three valleys in half--"

"Yeah, I remember it. He got smacked and scolded by Fu the third time he used that power."

"You guys are so strong." Marinette noted which Adrien agreed.

Both Guardians turned and said, "Wrong. The Twin Hearts are the strongest, that's what the prophecy says. We believe in it and we believe in you. Resonance isn't just the only thing you can do." René corrected them accurately and let Ethane finish the whole information. "Some.. Some abilities that the Twin Hearts possess are dangerous. Just like the possibility that Resonance is too."

Adrienette reluctantly stared at each other and nodded. They faced the boulder that they surprisingly still held. They weren't wilting so that means they mastered Repulsion. "Resonance: Strike!" Their aura spiked and discharged a ball of pink and green light that launched to the boulder, destroying it into smithereens.

"Whoa, wha da ya know? You did it." René smiled mischieviously and glanced at that. "I guess this training was easier than we thought."

"They're fast learners."

And then, Marinette unconsciously fainted. Adrien caught her in his arms before she could manage to drop on the groud and cried out, "Marinette, are you alright?!"

"What kind of husband would question something like that?" Ethane brisked, walking up to Adrien's side. "Your wife's basically unconscious and that means she's not alright." He kneeled down to the couple and stared at Marinette. Examining her. "Resonance can't be used too much. She'll be asleep for two or three days. Just wait."

"Marinette.." Adrien mumbled as he stared at his darling wife.
