Part Twenty-One: Escape From The "Thing" (Zariffe's Story)

This is a very long chapter like Lyrante and Lerogail, so I'd advice you to avoid this if you're not interested. Though, you sure are gonna miss a lot!

"Huh? Zariffe? Missing?" Leo batted his eyes in a shock. They were at the Guardian Council's Ancient Garden.

"He's been gone for days. Whenever I tried to call him on the phone, the shrew doesn't answer." Aracelie said, tilting her phone from side to side.

"That's strange. He never misses out a meeting. Never." Leila added.

"Well, that could only mean one thing.." René frowned and snatched Renartha's phone, making her huff. But he ignored her and dialed someone. It took a matter of seconds or rugiments for the person to answer.

"Hellooo?" This was a female's voice. A sadistic and diabolical one. People who're like that always end up like Jarell - A monster.

"Aloutte, return Sheol back to the Guardian Council." René curted to whoever that person was.

"Hmm? I don't know anyone named Sheol in our Lenoir family. You must be mistakening someone." The girl portrayed an annoying voice that made René grit his teeth. Especially her words.

"Sheol is still a member of your family even though he's called a thing to you creeps!"

"I told you I don't know anyone named Sheol! What's up with you, Ren-Ren?"

Ren then snarled, "Ugh. Fine. If you don't know anyone named Sheol, then I'll use Zariffe."

"Huh? Zariffe?" Don't tell me she doesn't know that is! "Oh right! The middle child. My third big brother. Yeah, I know him."

"Where's Zariffe? You have him, right?"

"I'm sorry but I can't answer that, Mr. I-Keep-Forgetting-People's-Names! Ta ta!"

Before Aloutte, Zariffe's number ??? sister could end the call, Ren interrupted, "Let me talk to Feidge." Aloutte groaned before passing out the phone to someone.

"Yes? Feidge Lenoir speaking, how may I be an assistance?"

"Give us back Zariffe. He's with you. I can feel it."

"I'm sorry but I can't share any information to a mere outsider."

"What--" the line got off, making René groan, "Zariffe's strict elder brother doesn't really like keeping his brother away from him.."

"Zariffe's parents and family are too overprotective. It's revolting." Leila remarked.

"Wait. Maybe we should just leave them alone?" Marinette interrupted and all eyes were on her. "It is family business after all and I can understand his family--"

"Zariffe's family isn't keeping Zariffe from us or anyone because of safety. It's because of Sheol," René said, prompting Adrienette's faces to baffle. "Ziesheol, or Sheol, for short, is the inside of Zariffe, the thing in him. That thing has killed so many in the pasts, he has killed a larger sum than all of the people Dante murdered before."

"Hey, don't involve me in that subject." Dante muttered, crashing himself on the ground and putting his hands on his scalp. "The past is way behind me."

"Yes! Yes!" Lyra bobbed her head up and down as she agreed.

"Wait. What makes Zariffe or Sheol so dangerous?" Adrien queried.

"Sheol is a monster. He doesn't show true mercy to others. Zariffe's..parents refer Sheol or Zariffe more as a dark and uncontrollable child. They claim that Zariffe or Sheol has no soul because of the circumstances of their birth, and cannot feel emotions." Abigail said with her eyes filled with rage, "He kills even the innocent ones. Truly, it's not Zariffe's fault. Whenever Sheol is awake, he takes control of Zariffe's body and asks a brutal request to someone he knows. If the person refuses, the person would immediately be warped to death by a blink of an eye and if the person accepts, they'll either die as well because of such a brutal request."

"Warped to death?" Marinette dazed.

"Wrung to death, like a drenched-up bath towel being squeezed or twisted to remove its water." Leroy explained to the both of them, "This time, the bath towel is the person who refuses and the water..is that person's blood. The person who squeezes is Sheol."

"Two persons in one body?" Adrien started. "How is that possible?"

"Zariffe is born as a true member of the Lenoir family, while Sheol, is something that came from Hell itself." Leila retorted, giving all the details (so some of you might understand the situation better) "He is cruel and vicious."

"Sheol is something like Jarell but more of another danger. Sheol..is something filled with darkness and silence. He rarely wakes up or shows up. He is very quiet," Lyra said, waving her finger side to side. "When Zariffe is asleep or even unconscious or tired that he can't control the entire body anymore, the beast (Sheol) is awoken."

"So, who's going?" Abigail lifted a brow.

"You are." Renartha said, smoking as she kept her cigg in her mouth.

"What?! Is it because I asked?"

"Yes."

Abigail groaned, "Well, I should at least have someone to come with me. The Lenoir mansion is pretty big and one hell of a scary mansion. Also, the real monsters are more likely Zariffe's siblings."

"I'll come." René raised his hand as he stuffed his hands on his pockets the whole time. "You too, Dante."

Dante groaned, saying, "This is exceptional but..fine."

Overlapping, down the Lenoir Mansion, catacombs were beneath their house. A young man who has black, mid-length hair and deadly gray eyes. He wears a suit.

"Hmm, I wonder what could've happen to our little brother?" He questioned to the person beside him. "Do you think he has given up yet, Renzelf?"

Another young man about close to Zariffe's age. He wears a navy blue blazer, with his black hair hanging down naturally over his dead sea blue eyes. He also had a bandage wrapped around his forehead. "We know that kid never gives up, Feidge. Stop wondering."

"Sure thing, second brother. But if that thing unleashes and manages to escape, I'm blaming you." Feidge said, dredging out a long and thin sword. "Do I torture him to make him release it faster?" Obviously, Him is Zariffe while It is Sheol.

"Maybe," Renzelf shutted his book closed as silver and scaled small serpents began flowing around him. His serpents look just like Rox but they glow more often. "If I..make my pets attack, then Zariffe might ended up in particles of dusts after being eaten. You, on the other hand, might get carried away and behead him just like what you do to all of the servants who disobeyed you."

"Renz, aren't you a smart guy." Feidge said, sighing. "You understand me completely. Though, I hate you after making Zariffe leave so easily before. I expected more from you."

"Big brother, I hate you as well." Renzelf sighed and opened a hatch, revealing a girl with pink hair and amber eyes, and Zariffe chained up to the ground with more shackles linked to the ceiling and him. "Aloutte, how is he?" Zariffe was knelt down while his head perked down as well, blood was trailing down his fair skin.

Aloutte held her whip up to her chest and answered, "He damn won't give up, Renz!" Her face bloated up like a child, well, she is the youngest. "He's protecting that thing!"

Feidge sighed as he paced up to Zariffe. From his hands being stuffed in his pockets the whole time, more like ALL the time, to resting his hand on his knee's joint as he haunched down. "Hey you. Why don't you just give up?" Zariffe didn't response. Feidge promptly slapped his face out of rage, "Answer me, Something!" He snarled at him.

Zariffe sneered at him as he kept his head down. He then said in a raspy voice, "Y-You'll never get to speak to Sheol.. He's safe, inside of me.."

"You intend to sacrifice yourself for that thing?" Renzelf said, prompting Zariffe to weakly chuckle.

"Of course. Sheol is kinder than anyone. He cares for people, he's not like you think he is. Even though he has killed many, those are just by accidents. It's part of the way he's borned to be. Rejecting his offers and paying the price naturally happens by a volatile power from Sheol. He can't control it. Therefore, it's not his fault. He's not the one to blame."

"See? That's all he says over and over again!" Aloutte stomped her feet on the ground firmly as her face bloated and said, "That thing is not exceptional! We plan to torture you until you unleash that fiend--"

"And what then? What are you going to do when I let him out? There's no way he and I can seperate. We were born together ever since childhood. I don't fear if you kill me right now just to kill Sheol as well. It'll be fine anway. Everyone hates me and nobody would even mourn over my death. You kept me in this house because you people would be afraid that Sheol would kill everyone. You kept me in this house for so long that I had forgotten what it feels like to be outside with friends--"

Feidge restrained Zariffe's arm behind his back and pushed him down to the ground, sneering, "Friends? What's that?" He eerily said, followed by a menacing chuckle.

"Feidge, I get that you enjoy torturing but don't twist his arm. I'm not done talking to him yet." Renzelf intruded Feidge, making him turn.

"Huh, and why would I listen to you? I'm the older brother, aren't I? I can do whatever I want, even harm this kid."

"That wasn't the plan.." Aloutte said, tilting her head as her eyes filled with worry. "You're really not going to break his arm, are you, Big Brother?"

"Of course I am. I'll start with breaking his bones, rip his arm off and--"

"Stop. We're trying to convince him to let the thing out. Not interrogate him." Renzelf said, prompting Feidge to grudgingly took his grip off Zariffe and paced up beside Aloutte. "We're just doing this for everyone's safety, Zariffe. Don't be a troublesome child."

"Liar. You're not going to do that. You're going to use Sheol to kill hundreds of people who'll try to get in your way of power. But I can understand that you're not interested in power, you're only interested in killing. Father and Mother were the only ones who wanted power over the world."

Renz sighed and left with his big brother after commanding to Aloutte, "Don't stop 'till he doesn't give in." Aloutte sighed and nodded obediently. Her whip engulfed with electric currents as she began whipping Zariffe's back again.

Zariffe who seems to feel almost nothing or no pain, remained silent as his eyes looked down in guilt. Obviously, he was used to this pain. The pain he has been suffering in years. Fools. They don't know a thing about Sheol. I can unleash Sheol even if I wanted to or if I became mad, but I know I won't. I'll protect Sheol, even if it causes my life. They've been trying to torture me 'till I become exhausted and awoke Sheol. I can't that happen. I have never felt..real happiness before. Well, I did once.. In that day..

A brief flashback flashed inside Zariffe's memories. Zariffe, as a highschool freshman, was walking up to the roads of Bourdeaux, he then spotted someone: More like a girl, thoughtlessly crossing the streets of Bourdeaux even though a vehicle went through and almost crashed her. Zariffe didn't like saving people, especially idiots like that. It's because he was a merciless assassin born from a family of secret assassins.

But then, something grudged him. His eyes turned pitch black with a shade of yellow and orange irises. This wasn't Zariffe anymore but Sheol. He rushed in to save the girl by pulling her wrist away from the vehicle. The girl crashed on Zariffe's (Sheol's, since he's in Zariffe's body) chest as Sheol left thenbody omitted, letting Zariffe unconsciously take over after the vehicle passed them.

"Hey!" The girl snapped. Zariffe met up with hazel eyes. Aracelie's. Her eyes weren't vacant but hazel. She wasn't blind in this type of time. He blinked. What was happening? Sheol left him unconscious after he took over.

Zariffe blushed as he recognized Ara's beautiful facial features, "I-It was your fault for crossing in roads so thoughtlessly!" He guessed that. Yep, really guessed that. "Are you blind?"

"No!"

"Then you should be!"

"Why are you blushing?!"

"I don't know!"

"You shrew! Don't ever touch me again! I don't respect you at all!" Ara pushed him away and ran away as well. Zariffe rushed to the restroom to meet up Sheol in the mirror. Sheol looked exactly like him but with red shoulder-length hair.

"What was that all about?!" Zariffe complained to Sheol. Luckily, no one was there at the restroom or else people would've thought he was having the cuckoos.

"I wanted to save her. She was about to lose her life." Ziesheol said, resting a cheek on his heel as his joints rested on the pedestal of the sink.

"So?! Why would you care?!" Zariffe complained, "For god's sake, you're a demon!" His face was still all red. "Plus, I never wanted to see a girl like that in my life!"

Sheol sighed, "Are you sure about that? Look at the facts, you're blushing. I can't tell if it's because of rage or passion." His demon eyes glistened his self-possession. "It's sort of obvious that you like her. Hmm, would you look at that.. She's your partner."

"What?"

"Zariffe, you can't be a proper miraculous holder without a dear partner. I noticed that girl had the locket of the Arachne Spider so I decided to save her for you, also, I'm not in the mood in seeing someone dying today. I just killed fifthy of the staffs back at home and I wished never to experience seeing that again. They'll probably chain you up because of me." He stared at Zariffe in a shock, "Huh? You feel happy?"

"What da ya mean? I just feel surprised."

"No, you feel happy. I feel your essence of happiness right now. Is it because of that girl?"

"So this is what happiness feels like," Zariffe stared down at his palm as he determindly smiled. "I like it. Sheol, you can predict things well, right?" He looked over to the demon once more who thought about his query. "When do I get to meet this girl again?"

"Hmm, I'm not sure if I can vastly make myself predict when but maybe if I used my psychic powers, I should be able to.." Sheol placed his fingers on his temples and concentrated on Aracelie. "You'll meet..somewhere filled with more miraculous holders. Although, I'm not very sure what or where the place is. Various of images went into my mind and I can hardly describe them."

Zariffe smiled, "It doesn't matter when! I'll wait, even if it takes a hundred years!"

"Hmm? Hundred of years?" Sheol sighed as he rested his cheek on his palm, "So this is how love works. You humans sure are determind to see someone you just fell in love with. It must be fate for you two to meet. Hmm, it's been trillions of years since I have seen something like this before. In my universe, there's nothing but hatred. Hell is something I truly hate. Aracelie, the girl you just met, might exactly have approved with me when I said I hated Hell. Based on my predictions, she's a misanthrope."

"Wait, you're in your trillions?! You're an old hag!"

Sheol sweatdropped in irriation as his brow twitched, he kept his overwhelming smile, saying, "Yes. Yes, I am. I'm a trillion years old, born before this universe existed but I'm not old hag. I have youth." He sulked.

"Y-Youth? You demons have something like that?" Zariffe then shook that thought away and thought about Ara. Each time he thinks about her, he keeps on smiling. "Aracelie, huh? That's a beautiful name for a beautiful lady. I can't wait to meet her again." The flashback ended with Zariffe having a streak of tear rolling down his cheek as he softly whispered that gentle name..

"Aracelie.."

"Okay, so do you any of you really know where the Lenoir mansion is?" Abigail asked as the trio walked on the very streets of Bourdeaux. She examined both of the boys' heights. Dante and René sure are tall people. Especially René.

"Yeah. Right over there." René pointed over an enormous and very tall building before stuffing his hands in his pockets again. The clouds were very dark. It won't be much 'till the rain comes.

Abigail shrieked at it, "Y-You two go there all the time?!"

"No. Just me." René strongly stated, "The last time I visited that place was when I was..in my teens, maybe? My parents were friends of the Lenoir family."

"Your parents have friends that are assassins?"

"Technically, yeah, but now Rena and I hate them because my current mother assigned one of the Lenoir siblings to kill my true mother out of jealousy." René said that word as if it was poisoned. "Eventually, my mom managed to escape the mansion but her car accident was just an act to ruse others because the killer made it look like an accident."

"Why would Zariffe's parents agree with that? Isn't the Lenoir family richer than yours?"

"Yeah but Feidge really enjoys killing, and pain." René said, stopping by the building's gates. The three gazed at the very tall gates. Just how protective are the Lenoir family to Zariffe? There was an awkward atmosphere that filled the air, 'till René rang the doorbell.

A monitor showed up from one of the nearby walls, revealing a very pretty long and loosed pink-haired woman. She wore a dress. She rested her cheek on her heel. At first, she had a flirtatious face but when she reognized René face, it twisted into an ecstatic one. "René Rousseau, was it?" She acted innocent, "How nostalgic! You've growned pretty well! You're in the same age as Big Brother Feidge, right?"

"Cut the act, Love. Where's Zariffe?" René snapped with a face of no emotions.

Love, the fourth sibling, acted as if she was deeply hurt. Clutching her chest as she caused an intensive drama, she said, "Gosh, that hurts! Back then, you were such a nice and polite boy! Something like..Are you lost? Here, let me help you.. When I was a little girl but look at you now! You're so cold-natured!"

"Th-This..is Zariffe's little sister?" Abigail cocked a brow as she baffled. She needed an explanation for this baffling situation.

Love's eyes sparked in interest and looked down to Abigail, "Hm? Who're you?" She raised a brow but her smirk grew, "Are you René's new girlfriend or Dante's?"

"What?" René's brow twitched in confusion and disbelief. Abigail batted her eyes as she felt unsteady. "I mean, you gotta be kidding, right? Me and her?"

Dante rolled his eyes, disclaiming about what Love said about him and Abigail, "That is severely impossible. I never took a liking for Agreste.."

"She's not my girlfriend nor Dante's. She's Leroy's." René spoke up with a stern tone. Dante nodded in approval while Abigail scrunched her brows at him after implying that he never took a liking for her. Does that mean he doesn't count her as his comrade?

"Oh, you mean the Dragon Fly?" Love framed that question, "That makes sense. Preferably suited since they're partners and they trust each other very much. Well, congratulations, I promise I won't disrupt your relationship since Leroy's already taken.."

"What?" Abigail baffled.

"Anyways, where's Zariffe? We--the Guardian Council needs him back." René interrupted.

Love blinked, "Hm? Guardian Council? You mean the twelve people named after the familiars used by Adele Miraculeaux.." René nodded accurately. Love smiled, "I see.. The highest ranking Miraculers with martial arts, wisdom, and combat experience far exceeding the rest. These are the twelve Commanders or what you prefer to call as Guardians. The Guardian, René Jekylland Rousseau bears the title of the Black Swan, a violinist, correct?" She turned to Abigail and Dante, "And Dante is the Guardian of the Azure Dragon, a taoist yet a creature of destruction, while Ms. Abigail here is the Guardian of the Goddessing Dove, a goddess. Hm, I should be the goddess since I'm prettier than you I should say so myself."

Abigail shrugged, "Fine then. Who says I care about my beauty?" Thus, Love's brows flattened a bit. "What matters is how a person acts, right? Now, let us in."

"Hm, and why should I do that?"

"We want to see Zariffe. You love your brother, don't you? If you love and care for him then let us in. It's obvious that his brothers and sister is torturing him right now, just to unleash Sheol."

Love furrowed her brows before sighing then silently yet loud enough for only the trio to hear, muttered, "Look over there.." Her eyes trailed on the left which led the trio's glance on a surveillance camera that was watching over them. "That camera..is watched over by one of the workers of our family.. That is not being watched by me, but someone else.." Her eyes strangely sterned as they looked down deeply on the three. "Listen carefully.. I'm doing this only for Zariffe and no one else.. Not even that thing he labels as Sheol." She muttered so that the camera wouldn't hear their conversation. "I accurately disagree with my siblings.. I won't allow Zariffe to get hurt anymore.. Use brute force to crash down the gate, make it look like it's real--"

Her message was cutted off by René smashing the monitor with a firm punch. Abigail promptly cried out, "Ren, why would you do that?!" She gripped on her head.

"Huh? What da ya mean?" René recovered, scrunching his brows as he began to wind up his arm. "She said to use brute force, didn't she? I'm just complying."

"She meant the gate, not the monitor, you bastard..!" Dante whispered in his raspy voice.

"Whatever, it's easier this way." René snagged out a gun from his pocket and shot the surveillance camera thoroughly one by one.

"Easier? How does it make it easier?"

"Uhh, it's easier because we made it look like it was real and Love won't be in trouble. That's why. Now let's move!" René marched in, recharging his gun again.

"May I ask of why you always carry a gun in your pocket?" Dante said, while rushing inside.

"Well yeah, never know when a assassin might attack, right?" René lifted a brow, busting in the mansion quietly. It was very dark. The ceiling lamps were turned off.

"Um, I think you're being too cautious.." Dante said before spawning Rox in a minimized form of an eel to light everything.

Coincidentally, in the Lenoir Mansion's underground catacombs, Zariffe was still being tortured by Aloutte. "Heh, give up!" She yelled.

Zariffe coughed out blood and replied, "No way.." His voice was raspy. It was obvious that he was in pain, great pain.

Aloutte screamed in anger before whipping her electric whip at Zariffe's back which was filled with scars. "Stop. That's enough." Renz's voice said from the speakers on the ceilings.

"He had..enough pain so far.. He'll be tired." Feidge's voice spoke up. "I'll send in a butler to test it.. You better get out of there, Ally." Aloutte sighed and did so in order to live from Sheol's power. She had one last glance at her brother with concern before leaving.

A female butler was sent in. She was shivering as she took mere steps closer to Zariffe. Zariffe hitched his breath as his eyes were flashing from his heterchromatic ones into demon ones. This was already Sheol, and he was mad. Really mad. And when a demon's mad, they never show mercy, no matter who it is.

He looked up and stared at the butler in her soul. "Who are you..?" If the butler refuse, she would be pay the price. That's the Demon's Law.

The butler reluctantly glanced at the surveillance camera where Renz and Feidge were watching then back at Sheol. "I-I'm your butler, Master Zariffe..!"

"I asked..for your name. Not..your position." Sheol tiredly said. His eyes were wilting as well but they looked like they were prepared to kill.

"A-Aubrey..!" That was the worst decision that woman has ever made.

"Aubrey..? Huh, so that's your name.." Sheol ruthlessly stared deep in her soul. "Aubrey, give me your duodenum."

Aubrey flinched, "H-Huh? M-Master--!"

"Do you want to die, Aubrey?" Sheol frowned. "Don't make me repeat myself again. Give. Me. Your. Duodenum."

"M-Ma--"

"You annoy me so die." All that's left was a scream before that woman was wrung to death.

"Well, there you have it.." Feidge watched Aubrey's death on the monitor ruthlessly. He slopped his hands on the desktop and sighed, "Magnificent, isn't it? It didn't even move. The woman wrung by herself."

"What I don't understand is how this could've happened. How can It wrung that woman so easily without even moving?" Renz held his chin as he watched Sheol sigh.

"Well, easy. It's its power. Automatically, right after you refuse its brutal request, you die."

"Are you certain that It was just too fast enough for us to witness?"

"Wrong. My eyes are pretty sharp. I can even count how many times a dragon fly can flap its wings."

"You are pretty right about that. Its brutal requests. Can you define what happens if you accept? You've met that thing in person before, right?"

"Sure do. I met It when Zariffe was a child. Obviously, that person dies because it's too brutal for a normal human to do." A brief flashback went inside Feidge's mind. A young Zariffe in the age of seven or six smiled at his first butler.

"Huh? You're the new butler?" Zariffe's eyes twinkled radiantly. "Take GOOD care of me then!" He adorably grinned, lacking teeth. Feidge, in his teens, watched the two get along.

He sighed and walked down the stairs, mumbling, "And I was worried for nothing.. I hope she makes it."

The female butler smiled down at Zariffe and soothed, "Aww, you're so cute! This is my first job as a butler so please understand if I do anything unnecessary. I'm Herath. Nice to meet you, Master Zariffe!"

Zariffe's smile lost and he mumbled, "What about Sheol? Aren't you also going to greet him?"

"Sheol? Who's that?"

"He's my friend!" His cute smile went back.

"O-Oh. Where is he then?"

"Sheol is right here!" Zariffe jabbed his finger on his chest. He was telling the truth to Herath. Herath took his statement as a weird one. She thought Sheol was an imaginary friend of Zariffe's, but what she didn't know was that Sheol is alive.

"O-Oh. Ahaha!" Heaving out a sheepish sigh, Herath held out her hands. "Now, Master Zariffe, shall we play hide and seek?"

Zariffe stared on her hands then to her face. "Sheol says it's too risky. I might get hurt."

Herath didn't knew what to do in her first job as butler. She didn't knew how to take care of a child either. "Sh-Sheol? He doesn't exist, Master Zariffe. You're not alone anymore. I'm your new friend."

Zariffe looked sad, "If it doesn't involve Sheol, it means nothing to me then." He then got his smile back and said, "Herath, pet me!" He cutely requested. If Feidge was there, he would tell Herath what to do and the consequences.

Herath giggled and did so. She brushed her fingers on Zariffe's hair that were feckly cascading his shoulders. Zariffe giggled as he blushed, "Herath, carry me!"

"Aye! Aye! Master Zariffe!" She carried the toddler on her arms.

"Herath, go up the stairs!"

"Aye! Aye!" Herath beamed, doing so. She even tossed Zariffe high up in the air three times and placed Zariffe down.

"Herath.." Zariffe's voice sounded monotone. It was odd since he was a child. Herath didn't knew about this because she was so happy.

She smiled at Zariffe, "Yes. Yes. What is it, Master Zariffe?" Her eyea widen in fear. They were shaking frantically as she saw the child's eyes before her. They were completely black with red irises. This was no longer Zariffe but Sheol. The child had a doll's smile. Sheol was happy so it would be unnecessary for Herath to die so easily. He'll spare her.

She ran away from Zariffe and went ahead to report it to somebody near. And the nearest person she met up was Feidge. "Huh? What do you mean?" Feidge self-possessedly asked when they got up to the stairs. Rushing to Zariffe

"Yes, his eyes' went completely different, Master Feidge!" When they got there, Sheol was still smiling, similar to a mannequin's. He was perking his head down and just ripped off a dragon fly's wings. He monotously laughed at that. There was a monster in this child.

"Don't worry, I got this." Feidge shut his book and walked up to his little brother. Sheol looked up and blinked. His mouth was ajar. It seemed as if he didn't recognize Feidge at the moment. Feidge bent down on his brother's eye level and gently smiled. "Zariffe, order me around."

Sheol grinned and did so. "Feidge, die for me."

Herath gasped by such a wish given by an innocent child. He calls me Feidge.. This isn't my brother anymore.. It's that thing.. Zariffe would never call me by name, he always calls me Brother.. Feidge thought behind his face. Deep inside, he was ruthless and cold when it comes to this monster inside of Zariffe.

"Sure." Feidge smiled gently, trying his best to consider that this was still his brother. "Anything for you."

"Blaaammo..!" Sheol shooted at Feidge with a finger, like a gun as Feidge's head disappeared and his body skid on the ground roughly. Herath gasped, is this really true? Did he just..killed his own brother?

Sheol or Zariffe's eyes weren't so fast to detect his brother's impressive speed of sinking his head in his collar. Sheol closed his eyes after this and laughed with humor this time, "Brother, wake up..!" This was Zariffe since he calls him Brother.

Feidge did so, with his body moving on its own. His head popped up of his collar and scared his brother jokishly, "Boo!" Zariffe laughed while Feidge as well, tagged along with his laugh.

"U-Um, Master Feidge? Do-Do your parents know about this?" Herath interrupted. Feidge turned to her and lost his smile which his reply was now husky.

He replied, "No. Don't tell them."

Herath sheepishly laughed, "I.. I apologize but..I contacted your mother already and re-reported everything."

"What? Why my mother?" Feidge angrily snapped, putting his arms around Zariffe's shoulders in a defensive way. "Don't you realize how much danger Zariffe could get into by that crazy woman?!"

"M-Master! She's your mother!"

"She'll torture him, cut him up, and take every last secret that's left within this child. You're not even taking this job seriously!"

"S-Sorry, Ma-Master! Fo-Forgive me!"

Moments later, Feidge was scolded by his mother. "How dare you keep a secret this serious?!" She walked up to her son and slapped him. "We could've took this secret more seriously! If others found out that-that this thing is a part of our family, it will ruin our reputation!" Feidge clenched his teeth and fist, he was holding back from talking back to his mother.

"Now. Now. Silvette, calm down." His father told her. "Feidge, I'm sure you have an explanation for this.."

Feidge fixed himself up and perked his head down. "Zariffe..has something inside him. A monster. A thing. That thing bearly shows any emotions. If it sees an insect, it'll tear off it's wings. If it sees an animal, it'll dismember them. If it sees a human.. It'll make a request."

"A request? What sort of request?"

"Whenever Zariffe's eyes turn different, it's the thing. If you do all three of his simple requests, his eyes turn into that thing's eyes. He will remain like that forever, unless you ask him to give you a request."

"I see.. What happens if you refuse?"

"I don't know. I've never tried."

On the next day, Hertha faced the mother back at the playground where Sheol was discovered. "Refuse all Zariffe's requests. No matter how small they are." The mother told her and left without another word.

Feidge was ordered to be there to see what happens. Though, he was busy reading a book as he sat on a stone. "Hey, Herath.." Zariffe sat up from his idle position and held his arms up, "Lift me up high..!"

"S-Sorry Master, b-but I can't!"

Zariffe's eyes sadden a bit, "Why not?" His smile went back as he flailed his arms around, "Th-Then tickle me, Herath!"

"N-No. I can't. I'm sorry. I'm not allowed to, Master." Zariffe's eyes shake in sadness. It felt like he was about to cry. He clutvhed on his chest as his eyes represented..some emotions. Sadness, fear, betrayal, dissappointment, rejection, regret, anxiety, disorder and franticness. He could feel Sheol getting angry because of making Zariffe upset.

Herath bent down to the child's eye level and smiled, "Now, Master Zariffe, how about we play a game instead--" Suddenly, her face was crushed to a purple hue. Feidge looked away from his book and saw what was happening.

Sheol's eyes were back on Zariffe's eyes. He was gritting his teeth as he snapped, "Then die." Once Zariffe got back to control everything again, he watched the female get wrung to death and splatter blood in front of him. Zariffe was sucking his thumb as he emotionlessly watched a tragic death.

Feidge blinked and clamped a hand on Zariffe's shoulder, "Let's go." He carried Zariffe in his arms and walked away from the blood and squeezed corpse. He tried his best to take Zariffe's attention off the girl's death but the child locked his eyes on the puddle of blood.

"Is Herath going to be alright? Where is she? Why did she disappear like that?" The child cluelessly asked.

Feidge didn't make eye contact. He monotously replied, "Don't worry, she's in somewhere nice. In heaven." Even though Zariffe didn't understand that, he cluelessly blinked and said that he hoped that they can still play tomorrow.

"Huh? Dead? Ten people?" A younger Renzelf cluelessly framed questions, looking up from his book. He faced Feidge who was gravely serious.

"Yes. Seems like It's wrung-to-death law was a cumulative effect. Every person Herath Damboise often spent time with or loved most, except Zariffe, was simultaneously crushed along with Herath herself." He explained with his eyes filled with coldness and murderous desires.

Renz's blank eyes disported the disembodied souls he took from the people he murdered. The souls were straying around his eye color as he remained blank. "I see.. That's interesting. Very interesting. Can you give me more details?"

"Forget it. You'll forget it afterwards." Feidge folded his arms and eyed on the bandage wrapped around Renz's forehead. He had always had that, even 'till the present day. "After all, you still have an amnesia ever since you woke up from a coma."

A smile formed in Renz's lips. "Hmph, I guess you could say that.."

The next day, another butler was introduced to Zariffe. Zariffe blinked and turned his head from side to side, saying, "Huh? Where's Herath, and who are you?"

"I'm Raisabelle. Your new butler, Master Zariffe." This woman is aware of Sheol's power. "Herath had..to go somewhere."

"Where?"

"S-Some place." Raisabelle anxiously smiled. "Let's play a game, Master Zariffe!"

"No. I don't want to." Zariffe sat up from idle position and lend out his arms. "Raisabelle, give me your soul~!" Feidge's eyes widen as he watched them.

"Z-Zariffe, what do you think you're doing?" He marched up to Zariffe and said, "Zariffe, do you know who I am? What am I to you?"

Zariffe blinked. "Feidge." He answered monotously. It sounded a lot like Sheol. "I see you..as Feidge." Feidge's eyes shot open. Sheol..was taking over Zariffe. Sheol turned to Raisabelle and smiled like a doll, "Well? Give me your liver, Raisabelle~!"

Raisabelle fell on her rump and tried scamper away from the deadly child. "M-Master!"

"Do it~ Do it~ Raisabelle~!" Before Feidge could do anything, Raisabelle was wrung to death, followed by fourty people who simultaneously suffered the same fate with her. As the days went by, half of their butlers were sacrificed just to learn Zariffe's ability.

"Jereon, hand! Hand!" Zariffe blissfully said, lending his hands out to the butler. Feidge watched them from afar, folding his arms and huskily watched them. He then received a call from somebody.

"Y-Yes, Master Zariffe!" Jereon stuttered and did so. His life was at risk by this child. Feidge, on the other hand, took one last glance on his brother and its new "toy" before walking away from them to answer the call.

"What do you want, Renz?" Feidge snarled. His eyes were narrowing in anger. "Huh? Murder?" He scrunched his brows in confusion. He looked pissed.

"Yeah. Remember Rousseaus?" Renz answered, from his room as he scooted his chair away from the window where he watched Feidge from afar. "Well, the 'mother' sort of called and asked one of us to kill Mrs. Rousseau, the former mom."

"And you're suggesting it to be me because..?"

Renz ate a piece of bread as he landed his hand on his desk, answering, "I just woke up from a coma and had an amnesia. What if I kill the wrong one? Who's gonna be shoulder the blame? The amnesia itself?" He muffled between his mouth, prompting Feidge to roll his eyes. "And besides, Zariffe's still a kid, Love can't walk and Ally's just a baby. Clearly thinking, you should be the one. You're the expert."

Feidge groaned. "Can this wait?" He squeezed his hand in his pocket and found a knife. He pulled it out to examine it and wondered why it was there. "I have to watch over Zariffe--" Their conversation was cutted off by someone screaming. Feidge ran after the voice and found the current butler, Jereon having blood on his fingers.

"What the.." His eyes trailed down to see Sheol monotously laughing before innocently turned to him with his mouth agape out of ignorance as Zariffe. Over his palms were the nails of the man in front of him. Feidge's eyes open wide. How could his brother have done something so cruel? He numbly dropped the phone as his pupils contracted. "Y-You.. What are you..?" He asked to Sheol obviously.

But the boy didn't reply. Instead, he stared at Feidge cluelessly but then grinned insanely. "Explain." Zariffe's father ordered to Feidge. They were back at the room where their parents' offices are.

"I've been overhearing his requests after days. It has many ways, such as: Hug me, Give me your brain, Give me your hands, Give me your bones, Treat me nicely, Give me your middle finger's nail, Lift me up high, Give me your spine, Let's play a game, Give me your liver. There's a pattern to this. The requests It makes are small at first but right after somebody rejects its offers or follows its offers like what happened to Herath's fate, they become big. In other words, they switch off into a different sizes by pattern. Small to big then small to big right after somebody dies or unleashes It."

"I see. If Zariffe knows one's name, that's when he can make.a request, right?"

"Yes."

"Then to remove this..odd state of his, we must not let him leave the house or meet anyone." Silvette, Zariffe's mom said. "That way, he can never make a request."

"But Zariffe is your son! We shouldn't lock him up!" Feidge protested.

"Wrong. I can't afford losing too many staffs, and what would happen if stories spread that the Lenoir family, a famous family of assassins, have a monster in them?! We lock him up this instant! Also, what would happen if it was one of us?! If you die by It, then wouldn't we all die as well?! Renzelf just woken up from a coma a few weeks ago, Aloutte was just been born, Love has still been unable to walk because of her birth defects and you are the first heir in being the CEO of our industry! Think like a human for once, you spoiled brat!"

Feidge clenched on his fists. He wanted to kill, even his mother or the entire family. This unconscious urge has driven him mad to murder. "F-Fine!" The next moment was revealed Feidge carrying a tired or sleepy Zariffe on his back.

"Brother.. Where are you taking me..?" Zariffe yawned, placing his arms over his brother's shoulders. But he didn't reply. He kept silent. "Brother..?"

Feidge glanced at him from the corner of his eye and gave him a small smile. "Don't worry, Brother is just..taking you somewhere." They went underground where the catacombs were.

Zariffe examined their surroundings and worriedly croaked out, "Big Brother.. I'm scared." He held on Feidge's shoulders tighter as he burried his face on his back, "I don't like it here..!"

Feidge sighed and told him, "It's alright. You'll be fine as soon as we get there." When they got there, Feidge placed Zariffe down to input the passcode. Right after typing it, the hatch itself opened and shown a room filled with dolls and toys, aditionally a bed. A bedroom or a playroom rather.

Zariffe sheered over it and refused going in. He looked up to his brother and tucked his pants, "Big Brother.. What is this?"

Feidge kneeled down to him and smiled, "This is where you stay from now on. Mom and Dad wanted you to enjoy your stay in here so please do." He gestured into the room, "Come along now. Get in. You can have fun with any toys you like."

"Brother.. Will you stay with me?" Feidge thought about it. He had his job to assassinate Mrs. Rousseau. Well, more likely forced to.

He sat up and told his brother, "Sorry but your big brother has to do something. It's very important."

Zariffe's eyes became downcast and he mumbled, "But..I don't want to be alone. I want to be with you, Big Brother."

Feidge chuckled and placed his hands over his shoulders, "Don't worry, I swear I'll come back to play with you. I promise." Zariffe's face lightened up as he said that he'll be waiting. He entered the room with a happy state. Feidge smiled a bit before bidding farewell and closing the hatch.

He dialed Renzelf's number. After a while, he answered, "Hey, what's up?"

"Whaddya mean by what's up?" Feidge stuffed his hand on his pocket and with the other one holding the phone. He walked back to the surface, saying, "You wavered over the majority vote of sending Zariffe to the dungeon or playroom or whatever!"

"So what?"

"He'll be trapped inside there forever."

"So what?"

"He'll be all alone." Feidge twitched his brow out of irritation.

"So what?"

"He's your brother."

"He is?"

Feidge facepalmed. "Damn, it's so useless talking to you." He pinched the bridge of his nose and told his brother, "As you might know, Zariffe is your third brother. He's been possessed by a demon called..Ziesheol, he's been taking over Zariffe. Zariffe isn't responsible for anyone's deaths and you let our parents immure him into an empty good-for-nothing prison?!"

"And I care because..?"

"He's your brother!"

"Whatever. Just do your job. You do it or else Mom and Dad will kill Zariffe, no matter what. Well, at least that's what they both said. I wasn't aware of that 'till I heard the majority vote happened. Anyways, see ya~!" After assassinating Mrs. Rousseau, Feidge came to see his brother and sucessfully played with him. Only at a brief time because his parents didn't want him hanging with Zariffe for too long.

Back at the present where everything was being solved, at least a bit. "Whoa. You actually survived?" Renz lifted a brow.

"Yup. It was..pretty rough." Feidge answered and examined his hands. "I hated to break a few fingers to avoid being killed. If I did, you and the family or..everyone would die."

"That's pretty difficult. Imagine if one of his Guardian friends got into the same situation. They wouldn't know what to do."

"It requires its next victim's name or It could never give a request to that person."

"So that means It doesn't know any of Zariffe's Guardian fellows' names?"

"Could be, or Zariffe just doesn't like showing It. He's siding with that thing, isn't he? And he still locks it up in him. Whenever you refuse a command, It automatically wrungs you to death but what's difficult is that when you're the one giving It a command, It grews mad and kills you instead."

"That's damn difficult." Renz abruptly caught something on the corner of his eye. He turned to see the monitor, it showed the gang; Abigail and the others.

"Hm, looks like we have visitors." Feidge mumbled beneath his breath, suspecting Renz's gaze. "You in the mood of killing someone now?"

"Maybe. They look pretty tuff. René Rousseau is here, he seems to hate you still, huh? Be careful.."

"I don't need your advice. I can handle him myself, even if he IS a Guardian."

"Where are we?" Abigail questioned, trying her best to stay strong. She was afraid of the dark more than anything else. Something she can't overcome ever since she was a child.

"This is the first floor and the first room so this is the main room.." Dante answered as Rox was hovering across his shoulders even though its scales were sharp enough to stab or cut a human being. Dante turned over to René and asked, "And when there's a main room, there's a formal greeting, right?"

Before René could badassly answer, the lights went up. Renzelf stood there with a calm smile, "Greeting? Not much. I'm not that formal, so please die now." Seven of copies of Rox launched at them.

René and Abigail sucessfully dodged all of them, and as for Dante, he slashed the fishes away with his scaled gauntlets but they dodged it and returned to their master. "Great work in avoiding the fishes. If you haven't dodged them, they could've bitten you until you end up in pieces of weakened body parts." But then another fish snuck behind Dante before he could notice, the fish intended to bite him but watery tentacle-like whips slashed them away.

The fishes growled then swam back to their master by a sudden snap of his fingers. "Oh wha da ya know?" Renz furrowed his brows as he held a book open in his possessions, "Seems like we have another guest."

"Make that two, squirt!" Ara snarled, with her boots glowing with purple aura. She was sticking on the walls, standing erect.

Renz twisted his face into an annoyed one. "Tch, Aracelie." He snarled. "What are you doing here?"

"Came to save our friend!" Lyra replied, with her half serpent body back. "Silverfish, stop this!"

"Who the heck are you to boss me around, damn cocky little Guardian brat?" Renz closed his book before kicking his legs off, pouncing behind. His fishes dissolved away in sparkles as Renz drew out a chain-sickle to throw it at them. "Silence, bitch!"

Lyra dodged them and unleashed a bow made out of white wood, with her quiver made out of white fabric. Her arrows were made out of water. She aimed it at Renz, "Serpent Hunter." She shot the arrows at him as they splitted in hundreds so it would be nearly impossible for Renz to escape.

Unfortunately, Renz deflected his chain-sickles' blades on the arrows which caused the ranged weapons to splatter like normal water. "Not too bad.." He complimented.

"What are..you guys doing here?" Abigail asked, standing up and cradling her arm. It was injuried after dodging that deadly attack. She must've hit the ground too hard.

"We figured that you guys might need help, and also, I may bring Zariffe back if he's as Sheol now." Aracelie got her feet on ground as she told them.

"I suppose that's a fair assumption.." René remarked as he recovered. He turned to Dante, "Yo, Dan, you up for it?" Judging by his look, he was questioned him if he's up for defeating Renz on a one-on-one fight.

"I sure can. I've got Lyra with me, right?" Dante nodded, dodging the attacks of Renz's fishes. There were more of them than usual. Lyra hummed in approval.

"Good. Just don't snap!" They ran away from the main room, leaving Lyra and Dante and ended up in another room.

"Just how big is this mansion?" Abigail groaned. She wanted to do this fast without anyone getting scathed, well, except for the enemy. "Family problems are sickening."

"Very big. Mostly don't understand what another rooms are used for." René told her, in monotone. "Practically, staffs are living in another rooms. This is a chamber, the forum." Just then, three machetes launched at him in impressive speed, hard enough for the human eye to detect or be aware of.

René tilted his head at his side to avoid the machetes. It pierced through the doorboard. "Decent reaction." A voice echoed the forum. The lights were still closed. Lightning struck to light the room briefly and Feidge had his feet on the long meeting table. "I'm surprised. You're quite skilled." He held a baton in his possessions which could be a great sense of danger.

"Feidge." René snarled. "You're the one who killed my mother."

"Yes, so true. But why don't you understand why I had to do it?"

"How about you? Why do you kill people who have nothing to do with you?" René curtly snapped.

Lightning struck on the windowsills. It was a rainy day. Phosphorescent light reflected René and Feidge's eyes of menace. "Smart question." Feidge's eyes were blank, still, they represented a killer's eyes. "Is it because they're always in the way, or is it because they're annoying?" René's canine teeth were showing out of rage. "It's not that hard. But what's hard is finding a response to a question like that. Maybe it's because I hate people, or maybe it's because their lives don't matter to me."

"You're a monster." René snarled before purple mists engulfed his fist. "Aracelie.. Abigail.. Get out of here before I snap.." His eyes turned turquoise blue. Ara and Abigail nodded and left quickly.

Feidge watched the two leave and head on to the next room on the corner of his eye. He sighed deeply, "Letting your friends go, huh? Is it because you're underestimating me?" He went back to face René who was filled with fury. "You look pretty hostile, assuming that you only want to avenge your mother's death. Well, yeah, it IS my fault she died but I was forced to, understand?"

René harshy exchanged glares with me and clenched his fist. The walls cracked because of the purple mists that were engulfing his fists. "That still considers that you're saying that it's not your fault. So tell me, it isn't your doing? Then if it really isn't.. Then who is?" He snarled, clenching teeth. "Is it supposed Lyra's fault? She hasn't done a bad thing. Then who's fault is it really? Are you implying that my mother's departure was nothing?"

"Huh? What do I care about your mother?" Feidge duplicated his baton in half, revealing its blades. He wielded the blades around, like what Chat does. "Let's do this, Rousseau."

Abigail stopped her tracks before entering a secret passage from one of the shelves of the mansion. It was similar to the secret passage the Twin Hearts and Lerogail used to head to the Guardian Council's headquarters. "Wait. Zariffe has one more sibling on the loose, right? I'll keep her distracted while you do your thing to bring back Zariffe." She told Aracelie who quietly nodded.

They went inside it before it closed automatically. "Um, how exactly are you going to free Zariffe from Sheol?" Abigail asked Ara which replied a mischevious wink.

"I have something in mind that you shouldn't know." This was the first time she acted like this. More likely, only acts this way when she's alone with a female companion.

Abigail raised a brow and tensed up. "Huh?" She smirked playfully and then said, "Hold up. You're not doing anything that involves romance, are you?"

"Stop that. This is super gross." Ara rolled her eyes before pausing when a whip slashed behind them. They dodged it after sensing it. "A..whip?"

"You Guardians ARE great at combat. You're quite skilled." They turned to the left to see Aloutte rusing an innocent act. She placed her finger over her lips and whined, "That's not fair. How am I supposed to finish you?"

"Ara, go to Zariffe! I'll handle her!" Abigail demanded. At first, Ara refused her order but then was forced by an icy cold glare. Meanwhile, Zariffe or Sheol rather was hitching his breath as he had his head down.

He spitted out blood and mumbled in his raspy voice, "So this is what I get, huh? I practically deserve all of this." He heard light footsteps that were audible enough to be heard even from a distance. "Who goes there?" He sensed where the individual was and got the chance to spawn his swords. He surrounded them around the person.

"There's nothing to be afraid of." Aracelie told him who was standing erect. "I'm not going to hurt you just like what your brothers and sisters are doing."

"Huh? W-What?"

"You're Ziesheol, aren't you? Zariffe's inner demon that came from Hell itself. The thing." Sheol had cringed with that name. "Sheol, do you know who I am? Do you know..who Aracelie Faivre is?"

"Aracelie..? I.. I..remember that name so well but I don't know who that is. It's been so long since I haven't remembered that name and I can't remember anything.." He..doesn't know who I am? Sheol only knows all of Zariffe's family and staffs' names due to why he doesn't suggest any requests on other people or other Guardians.

Still, Sheol seems to look like someone who's been traumatized or confused by his environment. He looks like a kind person but he has killed many, or, at least, warped many innocent people. That's right. Sheol has been inside Zariffe but he doesn't really know what Zariffe knows, it's because he's been asleep whenever Zariffe is awake. That means, Zariffe is now in a slumber. Ara walked up to him but was stopped. "Don't!" Sheol, in Zariffe's bodies' eyes flashed to Zariffe's real eye color. "Don't come near him! He's-- I'm dangerous." And it went back to Sheol's, the demon ones.

"You shrew, I don't respect you at all." Those words of Ara reflected Sheol, they seemed familiar to him. "I came here for you, didn't I? To save Zariffe, Sheol. Wouldn't you do the same if you were me?"

Sheol perked his head up and raspily said, "Huh? I remember now. Aracelie Faivre. You're the one that Zariffe liked." Ara blushed slightly but her face showed that she was strong and fixed. She walked up to Sheol, avoiding the blood stains on the ground.

She haunched down to him. "So you do remember me." She cupped his cheeks with her palms. "Can you summon Zariffe for me?"

"Huh? I can't. It's kinda impossible." Sheol said, taking off her hands away from his face. "Why are you treating me like that? Shouldn't you be the one treating Zariffe? He might get jealous."

"Yeah, but you're still him either way." Ara sighed in despair, as she cupped her hands back at Zariffe/or Sheol's face. "If rage can summon you then maybe love can summon Zariffe."

Sheol's eyes widen before Ara smacked her lips onto Zariffe's. A gentle and passionate kiss was happening. Sheol lost control as he changed into Zariffe who gently kissed back. After pulling away, Zariffe remained in a shock. "Aracelie, why were you.."

"It was the only way to summon you back." Ara smiled a bit, causing Zariffe blinked in shock. "And..I love you."

Zariffe then shockingly embraced Ara as he whispered, "I love you too.." Sheol who remained in Zariffe's shadow, smiled a bit, slithering a smile on his shadow.

"Ahh, young love.." Both of them blushed and told Sheol to be quiet but he ignored their wishes. "Heh, do you humans kiss without privacy?" He earned another snap from the two but he just laughed in the shadows and told them that they needed to get out of here.

And they did so. Only finding Aloutte beaten up by Abigail who gazed down at her with stern eyes. "I told you not to mess with me, brat." She snapped before turning when she spotted her comrades. Her eyes glinted in happiness and she smiled, "Guys! I'm so glad you're alright!" Her eyes strayed down to Zariffe's weak and beaten up body. "Whoa, what have they been doing to you? Are you alright?"

Zariffe chuckled. "I'm fine. I'm used to this pain." He clutched his chest. Ara was carrying him by shoulder. The trio whisked out of the mansion, only to find René and Dante waving at them. "Heh, I can't believe you guys went all that trouble just to save me."

"Yo, what are friends for?" René told him, giving him a warm smile but soon turned into a harsh one. "Anyways, who fucking told ya to go outside alone? This could never had happened if you just stayed at the apartment, imbecile!"

Zariffe sweatdropped. "René, you're being too cold." Helooked around and noticed something. "Guys, what happened to my brothers?"

"Well, obviously, we're still alive." Feidge peeped aside Zariffe out of nowhere, scaring him. He startled. "Man, you're like a girl. Is this what you get for hanging with these Guardians or is it because of us trapping you underground?"

"Feidge, stop scaring me!"

Renz chuckled. He lost his coat, right now he only had his ragged dress shirt on. "Ahaha. Nothing like a good family reunion, huh? We won the fight but we spared the Guardians 'cause obviously you'll never forgive us if we didn't."

"R-Renz?" Zariffe blinked and examined his brother's clothes. "What the hell happened to you? More importantly, what happened to your clothes?"

Renz just laughed without a response. "My attacks were pretty fast but his dodging and impressive speed were amazing." Dante was the one who retorted with a calm smile. He had his right hand at his chin and other one holding his right elbow, rationalizing, "Hm, your brothers are in fact great at combat. Speaking of which, they are suitable enough for a position at the council."

"Are you saying that we have these twerps work there?" Abigail raised a brow. "How come you're sure Fu would allow some mass murderers to work at the council?"

"You're the twerp. I'm much more older than you." Feidge brisked irritatedly and earned a glare from Abigail which he returned a death glare after. Abigail's husky glares and Feidge's death glares are competing right now. They might not get along.

"Now. Now. Fighting isn't a good thing." Renz got between the two menaces sheepishly. "How about we discuss this matter afterwards? I'm assuming we're pretty tired after all that work." The rest of the Guardians agreed and started to head back to headquarters, leaving the Lenoir brothers.

They watched them leave but they weren't the only ones. From afar, on a building's rooftop, somebody was watching them leave as well. Aster, the one who tried to fool Leila, is watching them with binoculars. He groaned and cursed beneath his breath, "Why did he even assign me to do this? We can't..capture Zariffe Lenoir alive! Geez!" He eyed from Zariffe to the Lenoir brothers. "What are they planning to do anyway?"

Feidge's hollow and solemn, cruel eyes then glanced menacingly at Aster's spot, straight into his eyes which caused Aster's to startle. He fell on the floor, shivering in fear. "Just..what kind of people are these..Lenoirs?" He murmured.

Renz noticed Aster too. He dredged out his gun, preparing to aim it at him and shoot him. "Don't. Ignore him." Feidge folded his arms and continued to watch his brother leave. "He's not..important."

"Heh, not important? What's that supposed to mean?" It took a matter of time for the two to have a contest of glares before Feidge won and forced Renz to lower his gun. "Y'know, he's not just a normal human being. He's something."

"Whatever." Feidge glanced back at Zariffe and bummed out. He never got the chance to say sorry about what he has done in the past. In fact, he's not even ready to call himself Zariffe's older brother. Zariffe would never forgive him for leaving him down underground for so long.
