Part Thirteen: Bright Light, Black Heart
Okay. So spoiler alert! This is going to involve Nathaniel and Adrien's rivalry between the love of Marinette. I hope you enjoy it!
Two days have passed ever since the akuma attack. And guess who it was? Rosette. She was still letten loose because of what happened to Adrien back then. They were back at the Guardian Council where everyone was busy healing the victims who were turned into Rosette's minions.
"This Rosette gal really is a troublesome person," Dante muttered, he was back to normal. Only having a worse silent trait.
"Yo, Old Guy! Ya sure it's fine for them to be purified here?" Zariffe exclaimed in the most erratic way. He sees this aptitude as a tactful thing to others. "Once they arouse, we'll be dead meat! Ya shoulda chosed a safe place!"
"Sanctificamini Exhalant Vivifica." He boredly muttered beneath his breath as he betwitched a somewhat ancient spell that made the darkness from inside the victim to suck out like smoke being inhaled but in reverse.
"Relax, Vermillion Phoenix." Fu walked around the council room, examiningeach victim. "This is very much a safe one. Azure Dragon would just erase their memories."
"I'm not sure if I could do all. Sanctificamini Exhalant Vivifica." Dante casted a spell, releasing the same effect of what happened to Zariffe's victims. "Plus, it takes time." He genuflected down to the victim as he cleansed all of the darkness in them to make them regain conscious and their lives.
"And what you meant by taking time is by making them look into your eyes while you say the words you want to forget?" Ethane cocked an eyebrow as he sat idly on the floor, "are you sure you're not an hypnotist?"
"Hypocrisy is cruel. Please stop that, Senior."
"Dante, we're in the same age."
"Yo, Abigail. Stop lazing around in helping the Twin Hearts out!" Réne shouted all the way from Abigail's spot, which was from afar. "Sanctificamini Exhalant Vivifica." He surged his finger in front of his victim's face.
"Yeah. Yeah. I'll do it. I'll do it." Abigail rolled her eyes as she kneeled up, walking up to her victim's spot. She didn't bother kneeling down to make the spell to clearly work.
Instead, she raised her palm as she casted, "Sanctificamini Exhalant Vivifica." Instead of one being cleansed, all three of her victims were purified in sync.
Other guardians gaped. Even Zariffe, who briefly lost a bit of his pride. "You can do more than one?!"
"Well, she is the Dove. Symbol of freedom and purification?" Leo backed her up, "get the ditch?" Zariffe quietly huffed as he repeatedly purified one by one. Leo rolled his eyes then bgean to concentrate on his victims, "Sanctificamini Exhalant Vivifica." After performing the incantation, he sheered over to Abigail. He formed a form smile as he watched her cleanse.
Once Abigail somehow glanced back at her as she sensed someone was staring, she met up with Leo's eyes from afar. Abigail wanted to return him a glare, but something just stops her.
They kept staring 'till Leroy saw the incident and nudged Abigail's elbow, "hey, you're overdoing it." Once she turned to see her victim, he was not only exhaling darkness but oxygen too.
Abigail shrieked in surprise, "uwaah! How did this happen?!" She reversed the spell as the exhalation stopped. She let out a relief sigh as Leroy secretly glared at his older brother. Leo just turned his gaze away from him and continued cleansing.
"Uhm, uhh.. Santakawawa Extavalant..? Vividian..?" Marinette reluctantly casted. The rest of the guardians stared at her in a dull manner. "What?! I am the Yang, the one that's filled with purification but this is a bit new to me! Got it?!"
Adrien placed a hand on hers as Marinette deeply blushed, Adrien didn't seem to notice 'cause he was busy casting the spell. "Here. Like this, Sanctificamini Exhalant Vivifica." Right after his victim got cleansed, he smiled a warm one. "Now you try."
Marinette blinked, "m-me? B-But I don't know how." Adrien gave her a smile of hope that made her feel optimistic. She nodded and casted the spell, "Sanctificamini Exhalant Vivifica." And it worked, Marinette then felt glad and squealed happily. Bobbing from up and down, and applaused her hands constantly.
The guardians shooked their head and slightly smiled. Yvonne chuckled, showing her mother side. Abigail giggled a bit. Ara, who kept her eyes closed the whole time, opened one eye and smirked a bit. Zariffe rolled his eyes. Dante sighed, smiling and mumbles tactfully, "children.."
"Good job." Adrien chuckled, rumpling Marinette's hair. She blushed as Adrien didn't notice anything at all. Abigail then smiled at the two, but glared at her fellow guardians to mind their own businesses.
"Sanctificamini Exhalant Vivifica." Nothing happened to Ara's side, the male victim was still asleep. "Mine can't be cleansed." She said in a dull monotone, prompting Yvonne crawl up adjacent to them.
"That's weird. As a high-ranked Miraculous holder such as you, it should work." Yvonne then casted the spell again, "Sanctificamini Exhalant Vivifica." But nothing happened again.
"Whoa, too bad. That poor guy! We lost another one!" Réne remarked, making Adrienette confused. He snatched the deceased man's stetson black hat and wore it on top of his head. "This is mine now!" He lowered its visor and showed a portion of his right eye while the other one covered by the hat's bill. "Wha da ya say we let Zariffe burn it this time?"
"Sure!" Zariffe ignited his hands, engulfing a fire with the shade of red and orange alike with his heterochromatic eyes to ignite. "Into ashes or roasted, you choose!"
"Ashes!" Both of the psychopaths laughed sadistically, then earning a smack on the head by someone like Fu. "Ayah-yah! Geez, Old Man! We didn't mean to!"
"We lost another one indeed." Lyra sat up and placed a blanket over the deceased man as if he's one of the dead victims from a morgue.
"H-He's dead?" Marinette managed to croak out, prompting the guardians to sheer at her.
"You didn't know? When a normal human suffers from an akuma attack, they eventually die because of the miasmas or darkness consumed in them by an akuma villain." Leila spoke up, "you should know as the Ladybug, and the one who faught Hawkmoth for a year already. Us guardians have never faced Hawkmoth before, but to be clear to you, we've faced much more dangerous ones than him."
"Yeah. Falling in love isn't the right thing for us all, because when you love a normal human, they could get involved in a mess like those villains." Renartha sheered over to her brother, who scoffed and turned away. Turning away, he was grimacing in regret from behind.
"So, we just let them die like that?" Adrien sorrowfully mourned at the man, he clenched his fists. This made him remember the tragic experiences in his life, the death of his mother and his ancestor, Felix. "We should've doned something!"
"Adrien, dude, we couldn't do anything." Leroy shrugged, "no one has ever figured out a way to bring the dead back to life, not even Abigail. That man's filled with an impure energy. If we bring him back, he might be a zombie or worse."
"Yes, Brother Leroy is right." Leila nodded, "neither Fu or Adele have got the chance to revive them back. I'm afraid they've been infected by Mizel's darkness of death already."
"B-But there's nothing wrong with trying! What would you feel if someone in your family died and you can't bring that special person back even if you wanted to?!" Adrien ragged, but only prompting Abigail, Leroy, Leila, Leo, Dante and Réne snapped a glare at him.
Oh, I forgot they've lost their relatives. Dante killed all those people who went near him, I guess. And Réne.. I still don't know yet. Adrien thought.
"Adrien, that's enough. What we can't do is what we can't do. Don't be a spoiled child," Abigail said between her gnashed teeth as she sneered ar me. "Understood?"
Adrien backed away, admitting defeat as he murmured, "yes, ma'am.."
"So, who wants breakfast?" Réne raised the visor of his hat as he smirked.
"Mah." Zariffe muffled, raising his hand as he nibbled on a sandwich.
"Dude, you already had one. Savoring it too," Leroy blunted. "Don't blame us if you get fat."
"My digestive system is one with burning wood, that means the food doesn't disgest, it incinerates." Everyone in the room grimaced in disgust, some cringed in pity. "What? What comes out won't hurt you know."

"Hey Abby, have you seen Marinette?" Adrien paced up to his twin as he entered the empty library. "I can't seem to find her anywhere."
"Why? Are you gonna strive to tell her about that 'I love you' thing again?" Abigail bluntly asked, making Adrien remember the moment and sulk.
He twiddled his forefingers, "it's not like that, alright? I mean, I just wanna be there for her. Ya know, anytime? Anywhere?"
"And what you mean by anywhere, does it include the bathroom?" Abigail didn't bother making eye contact, she was busy reading a large and thick book.
Adrien was flustered. He blushed, "n-no! I mean it in a different way!" He walked up to her as he questioned, "why are you here, and what's that book?" He pointed to Abigail's book.
Abigail finally turned and countered back in a straightforward monotone. "Isn't it obvious? It's Father's book. Morely, it's Fu's book. I'm reading about Adele and Mizell's pasts. Plus, this is the safest place I can find."
Adrien sulked shamefully, "what about the restroom? That's always the safest since we transform there a lot."
"Hey, you've heard about Adele and Mizel, right?" Abigail queried, not bothering Adrien's silly questions and statements.
"Well, yeah. I've heard it from..Yvonne, was it?"
"But did you know that they had a son?" Adrien's eyes widen as he sat aside her, peering through the book. "Jarell Divell. He's the son of them. I guess Adele gave him birth before she died in such an old age."
"Why are you telling me this? Isn't this Jarell guy already dead after all these millennium years?"
"It's because this guy is as powerful as the Savior which you and Marinette are destined to give birth to. They say that the Savior would be immortal." Abigail tapped her chin as she peered over the rusted pages, "if the Savior stops the war and purifies all evil, then Jarell must be the one who'll amply the race of darkness. At least I think so, there's no telling whether if Jarell's evil or good from his parents."
"But if he's alive, then how old is he now?" Adrien was drenching in sweat of fear. J-Jarell? Such a scary name. Why did Adele Miraculeux even gave birth to such monster?
"Well, if I'm not mistaken.. he might be nine hundred and sixteen right now." Adrien froze as Abigail noticed. "Huh? He frozed?" She shooked her head and slammed the book close, "anyways, let's head to class. Marinette and Alya got to class already, I forgot to tell you since it was the only reason why you came here in the first place."
As they headed to class, they were lucky that Ms. Bustier wasn't there. Or else it'll be detention for them since they might've been late all this time because of the Guardian Council.
Just right in time where they sat on their seats, Ms. Bustier came in with a young male by her side. "Children, we have a new student today. Please introduce yourself." The young male stepped forward, he had turquoise blue hair in a bowlcut hairstyle. He wore a white uniform with navy blue and golden linings.
The sixteen-year old opened his eyes, revealing them to be amber. "Veron Lapierre, sixteen years old, I have no parents so please treat me as a normal student." He smiled, but that somewhat smile of his seemed to bother Abigail.
"Please seat down with Abigail and Lila. Nathan, please move next to Marinette and Alya." Ms. Bustier said, making Adrien's brows twitch.
Veron nodded and paced up to Abigail and Lila's in a calm manner. He sat beside Abigail, peering over her Dove amulet which was in disguise of a normal one. He quietly chuckled a bit and closed his eyes, "that amulet.. do you know what power it holds?"
Abigail glanced at him, feigning a strong impression. "What do you mean? This is an amulet, a charm, right? I know nothing about these things. I just want to wear accessories, this belonged to my mother after all. But I'm joking about the charm thing, I don't believe in those."
"Is that so?" Veron turned away from her gaze and creased smile calmly, "well, I was joking myself as well." Liar. He sheered over to Marinette and smirked a bit from the inside. The Savior.. I can't wait to challenge her. Leroy peered at Veron with curiousity.
After class, Marinette walked down the stairs but was stopped. "Marinette! Wait!" She turned, expecting to see Adrien (haha) but false alarm, it was just Nathaniel.
"Uhh, hey Nathan. What's up?" She turned her heel.
Nathan blushed which made Marinette quirked a brow, she knew he had a crush on her. I mean, it was obvious ever since that Evillustrator incident but she didn't thought that crush thing was still going on.
"W-Would you like to hang out with me at the park this noon?" He smiled.
Marinette was shocked, although, her outward appearance was unfazed. She dreamed of going out with Adrien, though, she didn't want to hurt Nathan's feelings. But Adrien.. no, but Nathan.. no, no, no, Adrien.. uhm, Nathan.. gah!!
"Yes," she blurted out. Inside of her was screaming so deep, why did I say that?!
"Sure, I'll pick you up in three!" He winked and walked off. Marinette shamefully sulked, j-just what does the world want to do with me?
Beneath the staircases, Adrien sat on the floor in a fetal position ( lying or sitting curled, with limbs close to the torso and the head close to the knees.) He clutched his chest as he grimaced, "ouch."
The classroom was now empty except the fact that Leroy, Abigail and Veron were the only ones left. Veron stretched as he yawned, he slung his sling bag over his shoulder.
Abigail kept her eyes locked at him as he paced up to the door. Abigail was planning to interrogate him but he was pinned by Leroy, "who are you really, Veron Lapierre?"
"Well, guess I'm caught." Veron chuckled a bit, but then plained a serious face. "I'm Veron Lapierre, that's all. Just another new student from this school, is it something the matter?"
"What's the name of your parents? Where do you live? What's your job? What do you do in weekends? What personalities do you have anyway? How old are you?" Leroy interrogated.
but Veron replied in a genuine tone, "my name of my parents are Raymond and Rosemarie Lapierre, I live alone in Le Mans but had to move to in France and move to this school because my classmates bullied me all the time, I have no job. My parents make money on their own, I buy groceries every Saturday morning. I'm happy with my parents, I smile everyday. I'm sixteen. That's all."
Abigail was shocked. Was that all true? "Liar. You lie so well, I guess that's what you get from being his son. You may be cunning and observant but I know who you are, Jarell Divell." Abigail's eyes widen as she stood there in erect.
"That's your real name, right?" Leroy furrowed his brows, "obviously, your parents died years ago and reincarnated as Ethane and Yvonne. And come to think of it, you do live alive but you live in nowhere. You don't sleepy, starve, digest or anything. You moved to this school because of the Twin Hearts, right?"
"You killed everyone back at the school you didn't really enroll in, you basically just killed everyone since you were bloodthirsty. You have no job at all, all the job you have is killing people. To get rid of the evidence, you burn the body into ashes because you have almost every power of the Guardian Council but even more powerful. You're not even happy about your parents. You hate them, even your mother who treated you so well as a child. You don't smile kindly, you actually smile sadistically. You're calm, cunning, eccentric, observant, deceitful, cold and confident. However, you're diabolical, wicked, twisted, cruel, deadly, bloodthirsty and masochistic. You act kind, innocent and caring, but it was just to hide your true feelings. When you feel pain, you laugh about it and make it look like a bluff. You're exactly nine hundred and sixty years old. You have youth, you don't grow up or die because you already are dead. You only revived yourself with your powers. Nevertheless, you're still immortal either way."
Electric currents started encircling around his body, "now. Answer my question. Why approach the Twin Hearts? I'm very angry. I won't hesitate to use violence to you even if you're Adele or Mizel's son."
"Sure. Attack me. What benefit would happen? Aren't I dead? Wouldn't I still be alive even after that?" Jarell smiled in a calm way, "same here, kid. I won't hesitate to use violence just because my darling mother dearly created the Guardian Council just to erase my father and I."
All of the doors, windows and any other possible exits of the room shutted by itself. Ice started to shot out and surround Abigail, "and I'm sure Mother never want a dear member of the Guardian Council to die, right, Electric Dragonfly of The Guardian Council? Eventually, it'll took ages to find another member. Plus, this silly girl's someone important to you, right?"
Leroy loosen his spark and left without saying another word. Abigail raised a brow in confusion, but ran up after Leroy. Though, thorns tied her up.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where do you think you're going there, kid? We haven't had a proper conversation, haven't we?" Jarell paced up to Abigail, and crooked closer to her. "Say, have we met before? It's been bothering me, you look like someone I know, Guardian Council's Goddessing Dove."
His face then brightened up, "ah, now I remember. You're Aurora Agreste's daughter, the former Madame Peahen." He deviously smirked, "tell me, little girl. Do you really know what happened to your mother? How come you're sure she died just like that?"
Abigail's eyes glinted in fear, "y-you met my mom?"
"Yes and she was very lovely indeed. Such a caring and loving mother, giving all her loyalty for her children.." a calm yet diabolical smile slithered across his face as their faces were close anyway. Abigail was snapping him a glare as he tilted his head viciously, "too bad. She tried to attack me, so I killed her with my bare hands. Can't you believe it? Just one flick of my finger then she died."
"You monster!" Abigail ragged, prompting Jarell to furrow his brows and lean his head away from her.
"There's no hope for you at all. Just die." One flick on Abigail's forehead, she was brutally pushed to the wall. "Even though you are one of the powerfulest Miraculous holders, you're still powerless. You're nothing without your Miraculous. Everyone has been so weak lately, you weaklings are all like those normal humans. Filthy, they are. It's been fun but I win this millennia-old conflict."
"This is not over! We'll.. We'll.. We'll win! We still have the Twin Hearts!" Abigail blurted out, but was strangled by Jarell clenching a fist.
"What is wrong with you? You're pretty, you're perfect, you're rich and you're loved by two people. Now, why don't you just behave and worship your rightful master? Fu may be the great guardian and the head member of the Council, but why didn't I get to be the one in charge? I'm Adele and Mizel's only som, aren't I?"
"Y-You are! But.. k-kh.. But you have no right to..call them that..!" Abigail choked out, "even right after you..killed them! The Twin Stars are still here! The Savior will be born and will.. kh, defeat you..!"
"Ahh, riight." Jarell sarcastically lengthened that word as if it was poison, he rolled his eyes. "The Savior, huh? The one to be called as The Enlightened One? Ha, foolish. I'll destroy the Twin Hearts before that brat exists."
He clasped his hands as everything reverted back to the way it was before. "Oh well, guess I can't destroy them. The Savior will be fun to fight against anyway.. frankly, I'm very interested to meet her. Though, I should say, I don't like her either way." He left the class room, shoving his hands on his pockets as he closed his eyes and smugly slithered a smile.
"Hmm, this Savior girl is really getting the way of my ultimate power.." he then muttered in a masochistic manner, "shall I kill her?"
Abigail panted as she knelt on fours, "I've..gotta tell Fu about this!"
