Part Fourteen: Tendencies

Okay, so this chap. Might have a lot of Adrienette and a lot of Adrien being jealous and defending Marinette.

"I can't believe I said that! I can't believe I said that!" Marinette alarmed. She was in her and Adrien's room, with Abigail accompaning her. Well, only observing Jarell's part of Fu's book that is. "Oh, what am I gonna do?! What if Adrien saw that and said that we'll no longer be the Twin Hearts?! What if he says I'm a burden to him and break our destiny apart?! No! I love the Twin Hearts now!"

Abigail closed the book shut as she sighed, "y'know, if you just called me here to listen to all these crazy words of yours, I may deliver you to a mental hospital if you like." She sat idly on Adrienette's twin bed.

"Abigail, this is serious!"

"And you freaking about saying that you're going oit a guy you don't like is very intimidating. Why say yes? You could've just said no."

"Well, what did you expect me to say?! 'I'm sorry, Nathan but I'm destined to marry Adrien and have a child that will purify all the war between good and evil'?!"

"Actually, no." Abigail brusquely replied, "I was expecting you to say something like 'get lost. I don't need you. You're only a burden to me.' Something like that."

Marinette shamefully sulked, "Abigail.. you're so cold. Are you really Adrien's twin sister..? If you are, then Adrien's more of a nicer twin."

"Nicer twin? What the hell are you talking about? That nitwit, nice? You gotta be kidding me." She sat up and left the room after saying, "Adrien doesn't know anything at all."

"A-Abigail.. do you really see him as an low-life individual..?" Marinette murmured in an overwhelming manner.

Adrien sighed in despair as he poked his food with a fork. He was mulling at the dining room, having lunch with Leo to be exact.

Leo placed his teacup down in the fancy set up, "what's wrong with you? Are you having a stomach ache or something? You've been sighing all day." He sighed, "where does it hurt?" Adrien doesn't reply, "oh come on, I've experienced that heart-throbbing from Abigail after months. Now, one more time.. where does it hurt?"

Adrien clutched on his chest, "strangely, it aches right here. It's been throbbing ever since I've heard Marinette accepted Nathaniel's date."

Leo furrowed his brow in confusion. Marinette would never do that - after all, she loved Adrien with honest feelings - she'd never betray him like that. Maybe there was just a minor reason to that.

"What do you mean? Marinette has a date but not with you?"

"Yeah. Pretty crazy, right? But isn't that against the prophecy's rules?"

"No. Whether if Marinette really loves this guy, she still has to marry you."

Adrien's face sadden, "but..I don't want her to force herself. I want her..to love me with honest feelings. I don't like pretending, I want the real one."

Leo sighed, "dude, you can't force someone to love you.." his face was despondent as well, he was thinking of Abigail. He was mostly referring to himself instead of Adrien, "the best you can do is to strive to be someone worthy of loving." What was he saying? Who exactly was he referring to? Why does his heart aches as well? Why was he saying this? Marinette loved Adrien for sure but Adrien, of course, was always oblivious to that.

"Leo.. do you think Marinette still hates me?" Adrien bit his lip in opression, "if she does, then why can't she say it already? Why can't us Twin Hearts just break up if that's even happening? If she hates me, then why does she have to suffer through this?"

(Lol. I actually wrote a very short song for this. The song's tune is very fast and a bit slow.🎵We got hurt together and suffered this🎵 still we loved one another and got through this🎵now why can't you say "I love you"? 🎵haha 😊 alright, I'll continue.)

"Eh, depends." Leo wanted to tell him Marinette's true feelings, but wouldn't it be fun if you just watch them find things out of their own?

The doorbell suddenly rang. Leo sheered up to the dining's room's door, "it's her's date, isn't it? Aren't you going to stop her? He nibbled his fries as he gazed at Adrien in a dull manner.

Adrien sighed, "what would be the benefit? She'll just resolve things out of me, she'll just hate me more."

"Well, you get it."

"No, the maids will."

"No, that's the butlers' job. The maids are the ones who clean our mess up," Leo reasoned with Adrien, outsmarting him. "Aren't you going to get it for your Buginette? Try talking to this guy out. See what he's really after from her."

"I already know. He wants her heart."

"How do you know that? How could you be so inevitable?"

"Nathan has feelings more Marinette before I did. How about you? You have feelings for Abigail, right? What did you like about her?" The staffs froze and gazed at Leo in surprise, but Leo snapped them a nasty glare that made them mind their own business and went off the room.

"Well, I was interested on her at first. We weren't really close since she was just new back then at the council. The first friend she made up with was me, we..got pretty close, we even became best friends and I began to secretly develop feelings for her.. but when I found out that Abigail and Leroy seemed to have something special one another, it really hurted me. So everytime I saw Abigail, I just mess around to hide these requited pain. She doesn't know that, of course. We're not friends anymore, more likely, frenemies."

"So that's why you always taunt her. It was to hide yoru true feelings? Does that mean when we first got here, you were hurt too?" Leo nodded and drank his tea. Adrien sighed, "fine, I'll go get it." He sat up and paced up to the door.

Once he opened it, he saw the stupid redhead, Nathanael. (I'm sorry if one of you liked Nathan.) "Hey Nathan, dating Marinette, huh?" Adrien played cool but deep inside he wanted to strangle him.

Nathan wanted to as well, he quirked a brow. "Yes, I am. Isn't it obvious?" He countered back, earning another glare from Adrien.

"You better treat her right."

"Just because both of you are living in the same house doesn't mean that she belongs to you." This guy literally didn't knew who he was messing with and doesn't even know about the prophecy. "Marinette is rightfully mine. She'll love me, not you!"

"Ah, you're as annoying as Theo." Nathan cocked an brow with that. He doesn't know the Copycat either. "Why and when did you come near Marinette? If you treat her in a bad way, I'll kick your dumbass."

"Why do you sound like a guy who just got cheated on? Plus, I thought you hated her?" Nathan furrowed his brows, Adrien could've sworn seeing an odd brooch from Nathan's glisten.

The steely glint in Adrien's eyes where he inherited from Abigail and his father had gone in Nathan's nerves. "Think again, would you?" Nathan grunted in annoyance, he was preparing to outburst his anger out but eventually, Marinette came.

"Nathan, sorry you had to-- Adrien?" The bestowed couple lost their gazes to one another. Their eyes glinted with love, it was true love to be exact. Plus, Adrien blushed when he realized that his beloved future wife had her hair down. "Wh-What are you doing here?" The wife started to ask, snapping her gaze out of him.

Thus, Adrien was deeply hurted by that. I knew it. She does hate me. He feigned a happy face, prompting Nathan to grunt in confusion. "I came by to see who was at the door and look who it is." He grunted, but it was obvious that he wasn't agreeing with this. "Nathan and I were talking about you just now."

Marinette flinched, she flustered. "M-Me? About what?" She blushed deeply, prompting Nathan to peer at her with suspiciousness.

"Just things," Nathan chattered, glaring at Adrien before taking Marinette's hand. He gave her heel a peck, "are you ready for our date, Madame Moiselle?"

Deep down, Nathan smirked as he teased Adrien. While he was not having so much fun, he wanted to strangle him if it wasn't for Plagg nudging his hip from his inner pocket.

Marinette instantly yanked her hand away from Nathan's, "u-uhm, sure. Just don't do that again." They left, with the Evillustrator smirking in a smug face. I win, Agreste.

Adrien gripped on his head, "gah, dammit!" He grunted, quiet enough for not the "couple" to hear.

Plagg interrupted his outburst of anger by peeping out of his pocket, "kid, what's happening to you? It's just a date. You know it won't matter 'cause you two are already arranged to be married and stuff."

"I don't know! I'm just sick of Nathan being with Marinette!"

"Don't you mean, jealous?" Adrien plastered a face of disapproval but Plagg rolled his eyes for him not to mind it. "Kid, I've seen Felix running his jealousy over other people who'd have feelings for Bridgette or Ladybug." He shrugged as he nibbled on a surprising tiny slice of Camembert. "He initially even wanted to curse them a bad luck charm, a power of the Chat Noir. This is gained when you, Adrien are aware in any sense of danger. And this can be casted if you perform a spell charm on a victim."

"Wow, you're actually good for something once." Adrien muttered, "and is this like my Cataclysm?"

"Nope. Just a power that you can use anytime you want like Abigail's Oraculum, Leroy's Portal Creation, Leo's Sun Authority or his fists of the Leo, Dante's Death Wave, Lyra's Water Manipulation, Leila's Sensory Link and Ara's--"

"I know! I know! I get it!" He mustered out of the entrance garden and came in, being greeted by the staffs of the manor. Good thing that Plagg hid himself hidden the whole time.

Once he came in his and Marinette's room, aspiring to dump himself on their bed but unexpectedly witness Abigail sitting on their bed. She thrived off a steerly gaze, prompting Adrien to hitch spasms of fear. What wrong did I do?! The gaze.. what's with that gaze? What's with that gaze? What's with that scary gaze?! The gaze of unfortune?!

"We need to talk, brother."

In an ice cream parlor, Nathan paced up and walked to Marinette with both ice cream held in each hand. Marinette who was sitting on a table by the shop's porch, basking in the sun. She had been masticating a strand of her pigtail since her hair was down.

"Is mastication really that edible to you?" Nathan skiled as he placed their sundaes one on their table and sat across Marinette's seat. "Two sundaes just like we ordered."

Turning over to him and smiling, Marinette answered, "thanks, Nathan. But you really don't have to pay for the sundae, I've got my own money. Doing this to you financially is a bit too rude."

"No, it's alright. My allowance is very high so you don't need to worry about it," Nathan took Marinette's hand, "Marinette.. I'm so glad we get to spend this moment together."

Marinette dazed, jerking his hand away. Prompting Nathan to frown, "excuse me, but I have to go to the restroom." She mustered out the spot and walked in into the parlor. Right after asking where the restroom was from one of the employees, once she entered the restroom.

She sat on the floor, pulling her legs to her chest and tuckin her head down. "What am I going to do? I like Adrien, but I don't wanna hurt Nathan's feelings. This is all messed up, it's all my fault."

Tikki popped out of her purse, "Marinette, you did nothing wrong. You did it for Nathan's sake." Still this didn't comforted the holder, Marinette sighed and shrouding her face with her palms, muttering the word "Adrien.."

(And here's another short song for this! It's the tune is the full of Miraculous Ladybug's theme song. 🎵In the day time, I'm Marinette🎵 just a normal girl, with a normal life🎵but there's something about then🎵 no one knows yet, 'cause I have a secret!🎵(something with the tune of where she sings "I live a life that's full of fun and stuff). Feelings in, this empty room! Don't you know I've locked myself up just for you? 🎵I tuck my face, into your chest and shout out my feeelings agaaaaaaiiiinnn 🎵O-O-OH! What are those words just now? O-O-OH! What's with you getting all sheepish now? O-O-OH and when I see you smile, my heart throbs like WO-O-OW! It's Ladybug! Lol, I'm getting used to this.)

Coincidentally, Abigail had her forehead turn bluish purple as she gripped on her rapier that she uses for fencing in an abnormal manner. She seemed depressed yet ghoulish as strangely muttering the words. "Heart, Brain, Pancreas, Kidney, Lungs.." she murmured beneath her breath as she stood idly in Leroy and hers' room. "I wonder what other organs could the human body cannot live without? As far as I know, how many organs does Nathanael have? I'd like to find the best way to kill this Nathan guy.."

"Well, there is the small and large intestines." Leroy grunted as he basked himself on the couch, laying his whole body as he countered back. "Without the intestines, he can't digest. Plus, he'll just amplify, growing fat and eventually pop out of his existence. Also, seal up the orificies of his face and make him suffocate to death."

"I said organs, Leroy. Organs."

"You guys mutter the ghoulish things.." Leo shamefully sulked, "I know that Abigail's mad at this Evillustrator and Abigail's a she-devil but I can't believe you're obstinately with this, Leroy."

"Wasn't all of that an overstatement?" Leila said in a cheerful monotone, prompting Leo to shriek.

"Why are you so cheerful even though you know that's wrong?!"

"Ehehe, I don't know why, Big Brother. But I've somehow have inherited Father's trait of being merciless. I'm really kind, but somehow whenever I see a low-life human, I feel like laughing and tormenting them all of the sudden.."

"Leila, don't verge on them!" Leo clenched his fist as he saw his sister having a malevolent aura. But Abigail's was filling the room more.

"G-Guys, I don't Nathan dead!" Adrien was alarmed.

"Words won't only be the worst. If somebody witnesses you, you'll be death meat." Leo said, making Abigail turn to him with her eyes dull. It spooked him, he turned pale. Won't you be arrested for doing something like that?"

"That won't be necessary. Father loves Adrien and I more than anything in the world. He'll throw me out of jail by just handing out a large abundant of money, I won't care if he yells at me for doing so. But if you ask me to be more brutal, I'd like that."

"Does that mean Mr. Nathanael Kurtzburg'll lose more than one organ?" Leo muttered as he sulked, earning a glare from Abigail. I'll be taking that as a yes..

"Either way, I won't hesitate to kill him." Abigail blunted, "people are weird anyway. That redhead's gonna pay for breaking Adrei's heart, I don't like seeing my brother treated in such an angsty manner by others."

"Others?! You scare the hell out of me!" Adrien freaked, not caring whether if his twin would snap a glare at him. "You're the one who's been treating me in an angst manner!"

"Eh, Leo's organs will do." Thus, hearing Abigail's words made Leo shriek. "Leo, be a good boy and gimme an organ. Organ! Organ!"

"Damn, Heiress!" Leo clenched his fists once more, "a woman in your age shouldn't chant 'Organ! Organ!' To a man who's always being picked on by an Heiress like you!"

"Anyways, what are you going to do, Adrei?" Abigail raised her sword in a creepy manner, making Adrien and Leo's hair stand. Leila was giggling as Leroy just shrugged and kept doing his homework. "Are you really going to let your Marinette go just like that?"

Adrien gulped in fear, but shooked it. He realized that his twin was right, his eyes glinted steerly. "No! I'm going after her!" He dashed away, leaving the four there.

"Anyways, shall we talk about him?" Abigail turned to the trio, still in a murderous manner. A portion of her face was in a bluish purple color, same with the large aura around her.

"Only if you put your sword down, Heiress." Leo sulked, he still have feelings for her but at least this was shrouding the truth.

"Quit calling me that," Abigail lowered her sword down as she sighed. "This Jarell fellow has been a burden to the council. Shall we tell Fu?"

"He already knows," Leroy had his purple pillow shroud his face as his homework was done. He joisted his hand up, having a phone in his possession and showing them his message to Fu. "He's been rough on the edges lately. It's beginning to overwhelm him, but he'll get over it." Leroy lazily swerved himself on the other side to make Abigail's dangerous gaze at him away. Even though he had a pillow cover his face, he still knows his girlfriend (maybe)'s attitude.

"Jarell's still alive? That's impossible." Leila noted, sitting in a proper manner on Lerogail's twin bed.

"Shockingly true, but..how are we going to defeat him?" Leo queried, drapping his back against the wall. "The Savior hasn't been borned yet, isn't the child going to be the one fighting that guy?"

"We have to first. He may be a sense of danger to us guardians. He might even hunt us all down just for fun and maybe for buying time in waiting for the Savior to be borned." Leroy lazily mumbled, "but there's no point in telling you the rest, I'll leave the whole detail omitted. The Twins Hearts are still in our hands anyway, Jarell'll just hesitate to attack us. Though, there may be a possibilty where he strikes us without us or anyone knowing.."

"How is that even possible since both of the Twin Hearts are  just splitted?" Leila questioned as Leroy grunted and shrugged lazily.

His siblings groaned in despair, shooking their heads. "Why are you like this, Roy? Isn't Dante's lazy voice enough to be heard from the council?" Both of them simultaneously sulked. But Leroy groaned in a despair state as he covered his ears with his pillows.

Leo sheered over to Abigail, who was busy muttering down the same names of each organ, then to Leroy, who was opressed.

Did something happened to them? If there is, then what's it all about? According to Leila, Heiress (Abigail) recently treated Leroy in a harsh way. But isn't that how she treats everyone all the time? Though, Leroy must've been rejected by the Heiress harsh words. Is Brother Roy really that sensitive when it comes to his girlfriend? One thing for sure, they're really dating. They're just keeping it a secret. Man, it still hurts.

He sheered back to Abigail. While on the Heiress's side, she must be really bothered about Marinette and Nathan dating. Just how badly does she want her brother and Marinette together?

Marinette walked back outside to face Nathan, who turned to her with worried eyes. "Marie, are you alright? Is there something wrong? What's the matter?" Marinette gulped confidently, she doesn't like the way Nathan called her Marie. Only Adrien is allowed to call her that. (Haha XD).

She then countered back, supressing her unhappy state. "It's alright, Nathan. Everything's fine, really. I feel much better now since I saw your face." She blurted out by mistake.

Prompting Nathan to blush and murmur, "thanks, Me too." Marinette's expression was steer but from the inside, she had a bluish purple face of disappointment. Why did I say something as foolish as that?

She sat on her seat and beamed, "so..how are your grades doing, Nathan?" This wasn't the very fine subject that Nathan could apply, but he had to answer his crush's question.

"They're fine, I still suck at Physics though." He drew Marinette's face in a sketch pad without her knowing, he sketched Marinette's lips thoroughly. Marinette seen this. She was amazed by his art skills but she still has feelings for Adrien.

She's very obstinate about that decision, no one could change her mind. She'll keep liking him, even if Adrien loved another girl or broke her heart, she won't even cease to endure it.

"Well.. how about Adrien?" Nathan choked a bit as he heard his name. Marinette was clearly teasing him. "Things are okay between you and him, right?"

"Uhm, he's nice..in a way," Nathan sucked at lying and glanced at Marinette who cocked an eyebrow.

He didn't know about her crush on Adrien, still he wanted to be straightforward with Marinette. I mean, she doesn't even likes Adrien at all, right? "Though, he's mean and rude. He's a dork after all." This crushed Marinette, she balled her fists as she laid them on her lap. "I mean, who would imagine being so arrogant around other people. I don't believe he's all nice and kind at all." Marinette jerked her head down but Nathan didn't notice that since he was all busy in talking behind Adrien's back. Tears welled up her eyes as her bangs shrouded her eyes. "To he honest, he really doesn't care for anyone. He hates other people. In fact--"

"No! Don't!" Marinette cried out as she stood up. A streak of tear fell down her cheek, "that's a lie! Adrien cares for others! He'll never abandoned anyone! He's not arrogant, he's caring. He loves his parents, his friends and his sister more than anything in the world. He'll do anything to protect them. He'll save anyone even though it's risky! He'll--"

Nathan then grabbed her waist and pulled her closer, Marinette's palms were on his chest as she met up dark eyes with Nathan. "That's enough, I don't like the way you say those words about him." He pulled her face and his closer and closer, Marinette hesitated, pushing him hard but he was tkl strong. "I'll never let you go, Marinette. You're mine alone."

"N-Nathan, what are you doing? Let me go." Marinette started to cry, she shutted her eyes shut and gave up. She expected Nathan to pull her more but someone grabbed her wrist and plucked her away from Nathan.

"What are you doing? Didn't you hear what she said?" A familiar voice spoke, someone wrapped her hands around her and held her tight. "She said 'let me go'. This is sexual harassment. I don't like the way you treat my Marinette."

Marinette's eyes widen, she glanced to see the one and only Adrien Agreste. Her eyes glinted in shock, "Adrien..?"

"Your Marinette? Since when were two a thing?" Nathan countered back, acting tuff. But Adrien's expression and eyes reflected Abigail's impersonal and standoffish trait.

"No, we aren't dating."

"Then, why should you care? It's not like you're into her.."

"Yes, but she does belong to me. It gets me mad when you hurt her for no reason." Marinette blushed as she looked up.to Adrien, all red. "So back off, she belongs to me. Not you. Whether if you hurt her physically or mentally, I'll have to hunt you down."

Nathan stood erect in a shock, but then glistened into an angry grimace. "Tch, damn you, Agreste!" He stormed away as Adrien held Marinette closer.

Adrien wished this moment could last longer, but he pulled her away. He thought Marinette still hated him even after what they've been through before. Marinette sent a glare at Adrien, as expected for him. "Belong to you? I'm not a thing. I'm a person." She fumed, secretly passing up the fact that she was blushing about this. "You shouldn't treat me like an item, girls aren't things just because you think of us as a weak thing. I--"

Adrien cutted her off, embracing her tight. She blushed, still stunned. "I thought something bad was going to happen to you so I came here. I won't let anyone make you cry like that ever again.. I swear.." Marinette blushed hardly, Adrien was unaware of that since he shutted his eyes in a calm way. "But if you can't hold it anymore, cry in front of me. Not anyone else. I don't like the way somebody sees you cry, I want to be the one there for you after all."

Marinette batted her eyes, blushing. She acted tuff as her usual self since she still hated Adrien for saying all those foolish words about her belonging to him. "What are you talking about? You don't have to worry about me, I cried because of nothing." She pulled away, folding her arms and looking away from Adrien's gaze.

"Well, the only thing's important is that you're still fine." Adrien gazed at the surprisingly miraculous sundown, it was sunset. He sighed, "looks like it's almost nightfall. I'll head out first since you don't want me here." He turned in a cold manner, he changed his mind. He doesn't want to approach Marinette since he felt like she hated him, after all, does she even like him? (Oh Adrei, if only you knew XD). Of course, she didn't like him. If she liked him, then why would she choose Nathanael over him?

He walked away as Marinette watched over him, once he was gone, she sighed as the sun behind her finally sunked. "Curse you, Adrien Agreste. You made my heart throb again, I hate you.." she muttered in irritation, while blushing but smiled a bit as she clutched on her heart. "You're cruel to say those words, yet..you're sweet. I.. I.. I--"

A familiar sigh emitted behind her, "come on, just say it."

She gasped dazely and turned to see Leo Pierre with a bored expression, "huuh?! Leo?! Y-You were here the whole time?!"

"Well, ever since I heard Adrien was coming to see you, I thought I'd join along, y'know, for fun? I'm tired of Abigail's ghoulish mutterings, my sister's merciless cackles and Roy's lazy attitude." He rubbed his nape, looking away. "And yeah, pretty sure I saw everything. I was dumbstruck though, it reminds me the time when Heiress and I were close back then."

"Heiress?" Marinette cluelessly queried, "who's that?"

Okay, no more extending! It's 4000+ already! I've got to stop being addicted or get carried away with this! I might even write 10,000+ or 20,000+ or more! Trust me, I've done that in many of my stories. It's horrible for it to be too long! You'll just be bored.
