As Ayame and Haru journey to find a way to cleanse the dark mark, they find themselves pursued by shadowy creatures born from the same chaos that fuels The Devourer. These creatures—called Voidlings—are relentless, appearing out of the darkest places in the world and growing stronger as the mark on Haru deepens. They are drawn to him, feeding on his fear and doubt, and every battle leaves Haru weaker, with Ayame's powers barely holding the Voidlings at bay.

During one of these battles, Ayame is forced to confront a harsh truth: Haru's connection to the dark mark is stronger than she thought, and removing it may not be as simple as cleansing his body. The Voidlings seem to be feeding on not just the mark, but Haru's very soul. The closer they get to him, the more his life is at risk.
