Terrified and confused, Ayame tries to piece together what's real and what isn't. She recalls dying multiple times before—drowned in a lake, struck by lightning, assassinated in the night—but never has she remembered the details so vividly. She decides to leave her village and search for answers. As she travels, she begins to see ghostly images of herself, fragments of her past lives haunting her, showing glimpses of battles she fought and people she loved and lost.
