Chapter 9: Hungry

-Park Hyemi-

I heaved a sigh and glared at Minhee as the guys behind her gave each other high-five. Basically, Minhee and I agreed to have a battle with Jun and Mingyu. Minhee, my teammate, was pressing the wrong button which made us lose. Now we have to treat the winners, obviously those two boys, some meat. "Ready your wallets, okay?" Mingyu said, chuckling with Jun. I rolled my eyes and went to the claw machine.

I smirked while looking at the cute stuffed toy. "Let's have a bet" I said, still looking at my target.

"What bet?" Jun asked, making me point at the stuffed toy.

"Whoever grabs that stuffed toy will be treated as the king. Let's forget about the game earlier. This is better" I said and crossed my arms, looking at them one by one. They were all staring at the stuffed toy I pointed.

"So what you're saying is, whoever gets the stuffed toy will be the winner and they can command anything to the losers?" Mingyu asked as I nodded.

"Exactly" I said, giving him a small smile. His lips turned to a smirk and nodded.

"Okay, I'm in"

"Fine, I'm in too" Minhee said, slightly raising her hands. The three of us turned our gazes to Jun, who still haven't made a decision yet. He gave us a look, saying that he doesn't want to be in the bet. "Come on Jun. You never know, you'll be the winner" Minhee said with a convincing voice. Jun heaved a sigh and finally nodded.

"Fine" Jun simply said.

"Who wants to try fir--" I was cut off by Mingyu. He just moved forward and inserted a coin in without saying anything. While he was moving the crane, we just watched. My palm started to sweat, nervous if he ever get that stuffed toy. I glanced at Mingyu, he look serious. He was making sure the crane will go down directly to the stuffed toy.

When he pressed the button, the crane did got the stuffed toy, but when it went up, that's where it fell. Jun let out a 'yes' while Mingyu let out a frustrating sigh. "I thought he'll be the winner at first, but I guess not" Minhee said, shrugging her shoulders.

"Who's next?" I asked, making Jun raise his hand. "You're confident" I said as Jun nodded and smiled.

Just like what Mingyu did, he made sure it landed directly to the stuffed toy. "I have a feeling Jun will win this" Minhee mumbled, but loud enough for me to hear. Once he wins, I'll regret making this bet. Well, everything ends with a regret.

As the crane goes down, it makes it more intense. It got the stuffed toy. When it got up, it didn't fell. The three of us let out a groan, knowing that we lost. I thought I'll win this bet, but my expectations went wrong.

"I won" Jun said, giving us a victorious smile. "Since we're all hungry, let's go eat. Mingyu, you'll pay"

"Why me?!" Mingyu had an expression of shock.

"Because I said so" Jun said with a sass and walked away. "Let's go. I know a place where we can eat"

Mingyu let out a fake sob as he took out his wallet. "Well, goodbye money" I sniffed, putting it back in his pocket. Minhee pat his shoulder, telling him that it's okay. We followed Jun from behind, but before I exit the arcade, I saw someone familiar. I stopped my tracks and looked at the person.

My eyes widen, realizing who the person was. Hong Jisoo. What is he doing here? I thought he won't go here. Is he, perhaps, with a friend? I wanted to talk to him but someone grabbed my arm. "Where are you going, Hyemi? We gotta leave" it was Jun. I just nodded and followed him. I glanced at Jisoo one more time before I leave. I'll just talk to him next time.
