Chapter 8: You're Not Welcome

-Hong Jisoo-

"Jisoo, where are you going?" I heard my mom asked while I was wearing my shoes. I glanced at her, standing back up properly.

"Just got some errands, mom. I'll be back. Don't worry." I said with a small smile. She frowned, but nodded and told me to take care of myself. I nodded back and left our house.

It's actually night time now. Yes, I know my cousin is going to have dinner with us, but I don't wanna see him. We're not in good terms right now. Telling my mom that I have some errands to do, I can avoid the dinner. It'll prevent me from seeing him too.

I called Seungkwan, asking him if he's free or not. Luckily, he's free. I'm glad he's free or else I would have been all by myself. I went back to the cafe, where he works, and waited for him there. He told me that his shift is done, which means he's just changing his clothes. There aren't that much people here. I bet they are already in their houses. "Joshua!" I heard Seungkwan's voice from afar. I stood up and gave him a small smile. "You don't usually call me to hang out with you." he said, pulling the strap of his bag up on his shoulder.

"I'm just bored and got no one to hang out, you know." I told him.

We both exited the cafe and went off somewhere. Seungkwan just kept telling me that I have more friends I can hang out with other than him. I know he's surprised because I rarely ask him to hang out with me.

Little did we know, we're already in a park. There were not much people in here either. "Joshua, where exactly are we going?" Seungkwan asked while kicking the rock he has been kicking minutes ago.

I just shrugged and said, "I actually don't know." he suddenly glared at me like he's going to kill me in any second.

"Seriously?" he said, annoyed. I heaved a sigh and apologized.

"Look, I just wanted to avoid something, okay?" I told him, making him raise a brow.

"And what are you avoiding?"

"My cousin."

"Why? Why are you avoiding your cousin?"

I shook my head, telling him that I don't wanna answer his question. I don't really wanna tell anyone about it. I've been keeping it for years now, and only I know it. My parents, they don't know about it. My friends, they don't know about it either. I mean, it's not important anymore. The past is in the past anyway, right?

No...

It became a quiet walk. Seungkwan must be texting his mom right now. This boy is such a good son. I decided to take my phone out of my pocket just to check if I received any messages. Since it was in silent, I don't know if someone texted me or not. But there was one, it came from my mom.

Mom: Joshua, where are you? Your cousin is here. He's looking for you too. What time are you coming home?

I rolled my eyes in annoyance. He's looking for me? Wow. He gotta be kidding.

Joshua: I'm not sure what time, mom. I'm still busy here.

I press 'send' and placed my phone back in my pocket. I know mom will send me another text saying that I should come home now. Well, I didn't wanna come home, yet.

Suddenly, I thought of an idea. "Hey Seungkwan, wanna go to the arcade?" his mood brighten up and nodded.

"Sure! Loser buys food for the winner." he said while giving me a smile that looks like he's gonna win.

"I won't lose, you'll see." I said and chuckled lightly.

Yes, the arcade can help. I'll just be wasting my time there and hanging out with Seungkwan for a longer time. From time to time, I would be checking my wristwatch to check what time it is. My cousin might leave at nine so I'll just wait till the time becomes nine.

My mom may be making him welcome, but for me, he's not welcome at all.

When we reached the arcade, Seungkwan told me that he's gonna go to the restroom. I just stayed where I am right now and waited for him. Not for long, I heard a familiar voice.

"You're pressing the wrong button, Minhee!"

It really sounded familiar to me. I kept looking around until my eyes landed on her. Oh right. She and her friends are here too. Great. Just great.
