Lanton POV

Oscar and I went to sit down with our moms.

"What's cooking in here?", I asked side smiling .

"Your mom can be so funny, I think I just found a friend here", MaDube said within the laugh.

"You are already cracking the walls haibo", Oscar commented making everyone burst into laughter.

"Just wait and watch this is nothing at all, (sigh) thank you so much son fir doing this for me I feel so (looking down) I feel so embarrassed about everything, I feel like I am to be blamed for all these years you lived without a fathee figure ", she snorted and I hugged her softly.

"No mom, don't say that, all will be well mom. Its never too late to make things right", I comforted her brushing her curly black hair.

"So we were discussing the whole thing with MaDube and I decided to go to Vic Falls this weekend and MaDube offered to escort me", mom told us and i think it was just perfect.

"I think you have made the right decision mom", I hugged her so warmly she's just the best mom ever.

The day proceeded well MaDube and Oscar went back to Norton just a few hours ago and they might be already there. As for me I am about to go to my crib tomorrow I am going to pay for the building I want to start using as my music firm in town. So its going to be a big day for me and next week I will start operating my business hope that everything goes well.

A week later

Sigh, what a busy week I had but it was fruitful and I'm grateful for that. My building is a 6 story building and it is a glass building it is very nice and classy. I named the music firm The YV Magic Voice, it has been broadcasted all over Zimbabwe and South Africa in just a period of one week and it is going viral. We have lots of departments in my business like production, directing, recording and many more.

I gave the accounting job to my bro Oscar he was so happy in tears and he is the head of the accounting department I trust him so much and he won't have to be treated like a nobody at his step father's so called company. And for things to be much easier for him he moved in with me 2 days ago and our bond has become even stronger, I've always wanted a brother who will have my back always and here I am today with the world's best bro ever. I'm really grateful to the Lord above.

This is how my life has changed in just a week snd I'm very proud of the person that I have become in life.

Mom and MaDube went to Vic Falls on the weekend and today is Tuesday. They are just saying that they will be back soon but no they are busy enjoying themselves like single women with no children at all. And MaDube is just lucky that her husband is on a businesse vacation otherwise she wouldn't be even there in the first place. I just hope that everything went well there with dad. My only wish is to see my parents happy and for Kaylin to experience fatherly love.

So this is how my week has gone by. It was so tiring and on the other hand Shennie called me yesterday telling me that her parents want to meet me. I am so not ready for this, I keep on having stomach cramps. But I am ready to do anything for Shennie so tonight I will meet her patents.

Shennie POV

The conversation I had with dad helped me to be confident about my relationship with Lenti. I am going to do whatever it takes for my mom to approve of him and my entire family. I am in for this come rai n come thunder.

Its been a week now and we are opening schools next week on Monday. I am so not ready for school right now my mind is all on making my family approve Lenti. My dad told me to invite him for dinner on Tuesday and its today. I am so nervous, I hope my mom won't say anything hurtful that woman can be something else I tell you.

So today both my sisters are home can you believe that they are all here just to see Lenti, I'm so pissed right now. Cherry is on my case since last night but Ellain has been the sweetest maybe its the pregnancy. She has been encouraging me to stand by my man and support him through hard times and I must be proud of his career. I felt a bit spirited after the long lecture I had with Ellain.

Its now almost 6pm and I have dressed up all nice in a nerve blue dress with gold pumps. I was busy in the kitchen cooking macaroni n cheese with beef stew. I cooked everything with so much love so it must taste delicious.

Everyone was now seated in the launch watching soccer. My heart was pounding nervously and then *ngriiiiiiiiii* someone on the intercom. I answered and it was my babe Lenti, I opened the gate with the remote and that is when I realized that this is getting real now.

I ran to the lauch...

"Guys he is here now", I announced hia arrival with sweaty hands.

The door bell rang and I quickly ran to open it. I opened the door and wow! people my man was on flames. He was wearing a black trouser, white shirt, nude pink toxido suit jacket and black derby shoe. He looked a bit formal but classy and simple.

"Heeeeello", he said snapping a finger at me and then I came back to reality.

"Oh come in, you welcome", I said clearing my throat.

I lead the way and we went in the launch. As a sign of welcoming the guest everyone stood up from their seats and they all greeted Lenti with mom giving fake smiles all the way.

"YV, wow can't believe I'm really seeing you in person, this is a dream come true", Cherry chanted ao dramatically hugging Lenti. Yeah! I'm the one who made that dream come true you dump head....

"Omg, Young Vinly I thought these dummy heads were lying. I'm so happy to meet you I'm one of your biggest fans", Ellain exclaimed so excitedly she's usually not this bubbly, I think the pregnancy is really messing up her mind.

"I'm happy to meet you as well", Lenti said shaking Ellains hand.

Everyone then took their seats, mom and dad were seating on a twin soda and so was Ellain and Cherry so I was pushed to seat next to Lenti.

I was now feeling nervous I've never done this before. Introducing a boy to my folks oh Lord help me please. Everybody went on mute and Lenti was giving me the "go ahead" look. I sighed.....

"Hmm, mom and dad this is Lanton Johnson my friend and Lenti these are my parents and these are my sisters Cherry and Ellain", I introduced them to each other.

"Its nice knowing you mom and dad", Lenti said smiling at my parents, anybody would melt after seeing that smile.

"Same here", they said at the same time.

"So we've heard a bit about you but we would want to hear some things from you", dad said looking at Lenti and Lenti lookes like he could just pee right there and then.

"Ok father", he said respectively.

"So what are your intensions with my princess?", he asked looking at me and then back at him.

"I've known Shennie for quite a long time father and we were friends at first and we grew to love each other and I've seen something special in her, my only intention is to make her happy, to build a future with her and to marry her in few months to come", he said respectively looking straight into my fathers eyes and everyone was left speechless after his sincere reply.

"(Clearing throat) that is very nice of you so we heard that you are a musician", my mom said with questions written all over her.

"Yes I am", he answered straightforward.

"Ohh, ok that is nice", mom said but I knew she had some more questions for him.

"So who do you live with?", my dad asked.

"I just moved out from my grandpa's house recently, I used to live with him, my mom and my little sister Kaylin but now I'm living alone", he explained honestly, I like that.

"Ok, what about your father", fathee asked again, his father that topic makes him uncomfortable.

"Hmmm (clearing throat) my father lives in Victoria Falls", he answered not knowing what to say again I hope they just leave it like that.

"So where are you staying YV", Cherry asked.

"I'm staying in Avenues", he said smiling.

"Omg, I've always dreamt of staying there one day, the Avenues they have big stands, nice and big houses and it is just peaceful", Cherry exclaimed dramatically, hope mom now sees that being a musician can be productive.

"Calm down you'll make my baby have big ears with those screams of yours", Ellain said sarcastically and everyone just chuckled.

"Hmm I think those are enough questions now lets have dinner and Lanton you are welcome to the family feel at home", did I just here that correctly, repeat that mom. My mom just welcomed Lenti to the family this is a dream come true, I wanted to cry. I was now so emotional only God knows how much I wanted my mom to approve my relationship with Lenti. I'm so grateful.

We all went to the dining table. We ate the delicious food over a lively conversation. It was so sweet and I loved every moment of it. We talked about a bit of our history with Lenti and I think mom was busy joining the pieces, i know that she knew Lenti. That time she caught me, in high school. But I don't know if she still remembers though. It was now past 8 at night and everyone bid fare well to Lenti.

Cherry and I walked him to his beast (car).

"Wow! Are you really my future brother in-law", she screamed running to Lenti's car, seriously can you believe that this one is turning 28?

"I am sister in-law, soon I'll be officially your brother in-law", He said and hugged me. He's so sweet I tell you guys.

"I'm going to brag to all my friends that the famous YV is my bro inlaw how is that!? I'll become famous too", she said doing funny gestures with her hands.

"Do you know how to keep that mouth shut for even 2 seconds sis, B is really in trouble with you hai", I rolled my eyes.

"Don't do that woman", Lenti said pointing at my eyes, I forgot how much he hates that.

"Oh man, remind me again that you are back!", I gushed and he chuckled hugging the hell out if me.

"I missed you and I was so scaref when I came here but look at me now all happy and thankful to your precious parents", he whispered and then looked at me.

"Don't even think of doing that", How I hate Cherry right now, just when I'm about to get my goodnight kiss she does this.

"Cherry man, you ain't funny at all. Just get married already!", I yelled at her still in Lenti's arms.

"Oh, didn't I tell you dummy", she said putting her hand in her pocked she took something and a glow came out if it.

"What's that?", I asked confused.

"You dummy, can't you see", she said flashing the tiny thing to me... OMG!

"It's a diamond ring", Lenti said touching it.

"Sis! don't tell me it's B? Did he (covering my mouth)...", I said in amusement.

"Yes, but don't tell mom and dad as for yet okay. I'll tell them on the weekend when B comes here", She commanded and I just noded, i needed the full details I was becoming curious by the second so we said our goodbyes with Lenti and we quickly went back inside the house.

We went to the launch where everybody was.

"Thank you so much mom", I said hugging her.

"You are squeezing me", she chuckled i between the hug.

"Sorry", I said breaking the hug.

"Actually I'm the one who is sorry Arti, I shouldn't have reacted the way I did the moment you told me about Lanton. It was very heartless off me and I feel so emb (closing her mouth with my finger).....", She said playing with her fingers.

"No mom don't say that, you did what any mother who loves her child would've done. Your actions were totally justified mom, right now all I want is for us to be best friends cause the path that I am i now needs a mother's advice more than ever. You've always been my pillar in everything and you will always be, you are the best mom I could've ever asked for....", I sobbed, I was emotional people.

"No, that's enough I'm out of here", Cherry said standing up.

"Goodnight fam", Ellain said wiping away drops of tears on her cheeks, nowadays she gets emotional so easily.

We all then went to Cherry's room and startes talking about how B proposed to her. It was on a Sunday when they were both out on a date at Villar Park, it was when the sun went down and they started firing firecrackers. Then a bolt from the blue the firecrackers made letters WILL YOU MARRY ME.As she said it was magical and she was in a mess if tears and everyone at the Park started chearing for them.
It was so sweet and I can't wait to see how Lenti will ask me to marry him. I know that it will be unique with that head of his expect the unexpected.

Lanton POV

Tonight was the best night if my life. I can't believe that for the first time in my life I've been introduced to my girlfriend's family. It was the best feeling ever though it can be scaring.

Its two days later now and mom had just arrived from Vic Falls amd maDube has gone back to Norton.
Right now I cant read the expression on my mom's face, she looks happy and sad.

"Welcome mom", I said as she just finished eating her supper.

"Thank you, how is grandpa and Kay", she asked, they were both fast asleep since mom arrived a bit late.

"They are doing great, how was dad?", I asked raising my left eyebrow.

"He was fine son, he.... Let me tell you everything in detail", she said and I can see that it's a pretty long story so we went to her room and got in blankets just like the old days.

"So what happened?", I asked curiously.

*Victoria Falls*

MaLoyizh (Lanton's mom) and maDube arrived in Vic Falls around 6pm and Lenti had booked a hotel for them in one of his father's hotels. So they stayed in there waiting to go and meet JJ the following day.

They got ready and at 10am they were both ready to go. They drove to JJ's house and finally they were there. MaLoyizh was still amazed at how much JJ still loves white. They were welcomed into the house by some lady and that broke MaLoyizh's heart thinking that JJ had found a wife.

"Please take seats I'll call him", she said sweetly and went upstairs.

JJ came down looking dashing reminding MaLoyizh of all the great moments they've shared with him and she cursed the thought of how many years she lived under lies and misunderstandings. On the other hand JJ was shocked to see his wife (he still considers her as one) with his former sister inlaw.

"What a pleasant surprise", JJ said seating at the opposite sofa of MaLoyizh.

"H...y", MaLoyizh stammered.

"Brother James, how are you doing?", MaDube greeted smiling.

"I was doing fine since you came here like this I don't know now", he said sarcastically taking a seat, MaLoyizh was just looking down in shame.

"Hmmm, Mama Lanton how are you doing", JJ asked looking confused.

"I, I I am doing....I am really deeply hurt and I think that you already know why am here when you saw MaDube here', She lamented looking down at her toes.

"Hmm, so now I bet she told you the truth right?", he asked looking very anxious because he really tried to tell MaLoyizh the truth for so many years but she was too stubborn to hear him out saying that all men are the same.

"I'm sorry James (sobbing) I was too adamant to hear anything that you wanted to tell me all those years back, I know I found out this after 20 years and it's too late but I just wanted you to know that I now know the truth and I'm really ashamed of myself. I deprived you of seeing your son growing up to becoming a man that he is today worse I deprived you all Kaylin's childhood. I deprived the both of us 20 years of being happily married, please will you find it in your heart to forgive me", MaLoyizh cried with a heartache kneeling down before JJ and maDube stood up and went out of the room.

"No Anisha stand up, I forgave you a long time ago. I was also wrong, I should've told you about my brother's fiancée, I shouldn't have seen her behind your back. It's never too late Anisha", he comforted her embracing her so tight in his muscle arms.

"But you already have someone", she sobbed in his arms.

"Who?", he asked breaking the hug.

"The lady that opened the door for us", she mumbled drying her tears with the back of her hands.

"Omg, (smirks) she is my distant cousin, she came here to finish her degree in engineering, I see you still have that mentality of assuming things Anisha you just have to remove that and we will go far in life", he said with so much affection.

"Oh, I'm sorry I really should change", she said nodding her head.

"I missed you so much and I have a secret to tell you", he babbled looking straight into her eyes.

"What tell me", she smiled seeing the twinkling in JJ's eyes.

"Those divorce papers we both signed (smirk) they were fake, we never divorced so literally we have 23 years in marriage", he smiled touching her cheeks.

"What! Omg! Jesus you love me too much woh (sings)", she weeped with happiness written all over her face, they both cried but it was tears of joy.

Who would ever thought that something that has been broken for so many years would be mended within just 30 minutes. The love JJ and Anisha shares is true love and it's pure, come to think of it none of them ever thought of getting married again they stayed faithful to each other even when they were not together and there was tension between them.

*Back to present day*

"Oh mom you are my heroine, you are the best gift God had ever given me. Thank you so much and dad is right it's never too late for us to be one big happy family again", he reassured hugging her mom.

"I'm so happy that he never moved on it could've killed me. Actually I we never got divorced and he said he will be coming here this weekend to send off Kaylin to school", she smiled sincerely imagining her husband reuniting with her daughter again, it is going to be something really great for my mom.

"I can't wait too", I smiled wiping away her tear drops.

After Tiara's death my dad never had any moments with Kaylin so this is going to fill his heart with so much enthusiasm. It's never too late.
