Voice: Your father is a criminal! I can't get married to a criminals son!

Voice 2: I don't know about all that, all I know is that I love you and you are the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with. Please don't do this to me!!!

Voice 3: No! My daughter will never marry you!! Your father's blood runs in your veins, what if you hurt our daughter!

Voice 2: Please don't do this!!! (He mumbled.)

I woke up, sweating and my heart was beating so fast. It was now a usual thing so I didn't scream this time. I just got up from my bed and looked at the clock besides my bed and it was still 4am. It was too early to bath, I normally bath at 5:30am. I tried going back to sleep but I just couldn't fall asleep. I was just turning right and left. Then my thoughts were now on this dream I keep on having. Who are those people and how are they connected to me? I just asked myself but as always, I found no answer.

Mom: Pickle!! Wake up! (Oh my gosh, how did I fall asleep again? I was happy that today my mom won't wake me up, since I was already awake.)

Me: Hmm, (I really didn't want to wake up at all now.)

Mom: You have an exam today now wake up. (She said patting my cheeks. Oh, no!!! We ain't doing this again.)

Me: Mom! Don't do that please, it's so annoying, was this the way grandma woke you up every morning? (It was now too much.)

Mom: Ey, she did more than just this. She would splash water on my face. (What! No, the pattings are much better than this.)

Me: No, that's too much. Ok, I'm going to bath now. (I said getting off the bed.)

Mom: OK, be fast.

Me: Yea, yea whatever mom.

I was now all prepared for the exam and I couldn't wait to see Lenti. It's going to be a joyous week for us. We wrote our Mathematics exam and I'm positive about this one. I nailed it. I found Violet waiting for me outside the class I was in and I ran to her.

Me: Twinny! (I screamed running and I threw my arms on her shoulders.)

Violet: How are you doing?

Me: I'm good and you?

Violet: I'm good too. I have something for you (She said with a smirk. What is this crazy one up to now?)

Me: I don't like jokes Vee, let's just go to class.

Violet: No! Please come with me. (She pouted her lips.)

Me: Ah, fine let's go. (She was so happy, what's wrong with her? )

She led the way, we were going to the playing ground. Really, was this some kind of joke? You can never know with this one. We were now standing on the basketball court.

Me: Show me now.

Violet: Ai, you are too forward. Just be patient.

Me: I'm in no mood for silly games now Vee. (I said turning away.)

Voice: Oh, really. (It was him. My Lenti.)

Me: You! (I turned around and saw him holding a McDonalds paper bag.)

Lenti: Yes, me. Why are you in so much hurry to go?

Me: No, it's not like that. Vee is always playing silly games with me so I just thought that this was one of her ideas.

Violet: You see, you always think I'm evil. (She said sarcastically.)

Me: Haha, whatever.

Violet: MXM, you are such a bore, let me go to class. (She said whining whilst folding her hands.)

Me: And the trophy for the best Drama Queen goes to! Violet Scott!! (We all started laughing, I just love this soul I call my twinny. She's just a rare type of rock.)

Violet: You got me this time. Anyways my mission has been accomplished, I'm going now. I'll see you twinny. (She gave me a besty hug and left. I was now with Lenti.)

Lenti: You two must get the best friends awards of the year. (He said giving me a dimpled smile.)

Me: Haha, funny! Now tell me why we are here?

Lenti: For this. (He raised the hand carrying the McDonalds.)

Me: And you know we will be breaking the school rules right? (The rule was that no food outside the DH.)

Lenti: I know.

Me: But as the head girl of the school, I say to hell with the rules!!! 😁(I yelled and we all bursted out laughing.)

Lenti: If we get caught then you will say the same thing right! (He said flashing his eyes at me.)

Me: Oh, so you wanna play it like that. I'll just say that, "he came with the food and forced me to eat". Who do you think they will believe? Obvious the head girl! (I said sticking my tongue out.)

Lenti: Hey! That's unfair. (He pouted his lips. He looked so cute like that.)

Me: Let's eat already, you already made me hungry by bringing McDonalds. Do you know how much I love it. (I gushed and he was giggling now.)

Lenti: I think I need a grand prize for guesing what you like eating right. (He tweezed his eyebrows. Is this pride I'm seeing here.)

Me: I never said it's my favourite. It's just food and I like food. (I said folding my hands, with shifty eyes. I was lying here, I like McDonalds like crazy. It's in top five of my favourite food.)

Lenti: Who are you trying to fool now, I know it's your favourite Violet told me. (Ah! Vee!!! I'm gonna beat that ass of her's.)

Me: MXM, OK, you got me let's sit down now and dig in. (I said pulling him down the desk I was sitting on.)

Lenti: So this is the beginning of our last Pri-School days. I thought on starting them on a full stomach. (He said that initiating and maintaining eye contact.)

Me: You are just too clever you know. Everything must begin with food. (I laughed and he joined me. I'm just a food lover. Treat me with food, then you will be my best friend. Joking! But food is just good, I can't say no to food.)

Lenti: The way you love food NayNay. Sometimes I wonder why you don't get fat and all chubby. (He said that giggling and I just gave him a puffy face.)

Me: You want me to be a Fatso? (I murmured.)

Lenti: Hell No! Stay like that. I don't want you to be a Fatso. (He said with a raised and curved brows.)

Me: So what if I become a Fatso one day. (I said opening the McDonald's paper bag and there were fresh chips, roasted chicken wings, they were two to be specific and there were tomato sauce, salt and vinegar sachets. He also brought pine apple juice. He was going to make me fat in these two weeks I tell you.)

Lenti: Even if you become a Fatso I will always love you NayNay. I don't love your appearance. I love the inner you. Appearance is just added advantage. (He said giving me a focused gaze, he meant every word he just altered. OMG, this guy is going to be the death of me.)

Me: Aww, (my eyes were now watery) Let's eat now. (I said trying so hard to hide my eyes.)

Lenti: OK, let's eat.

We started digging in, I was too shy to eat like me, the the real me, so I ate like his NayNay. If I were eating alone I would have already finished by now but I just felt the urge to eat lady-like. We ate over a light conversation. How I am going to miss these moments.
The bell rang when we were going back to our classes.

Lenti: I'm going to take my bag, you will find me at the gate, Ok? (He said letting go of my hand.)

Me: Ok, thank you for the treat by the way. (I said blushing.)

Lenti: NayNay, don't ever embarrass me like this. No need to thank me. You are worth it. (He said with a raised eyebrow.)

Me: But---- (I didn't even finish my sentence.)

Lenti: But nothing OK, just don't do that, see you. (He said walking away, MXM, he didn't even bother listening to what I had to say, how arrogant.)

I walked to my class and I found Violet talking to Debra and Shantel. What's popping now? I walked to them, I had a gaping jaw with the calmness they all had. Okay! That's really amusing.

Me: Vee, let's go home. (I said with a cocked head.)

Shantel: I have something to tell you Shennie. (Eh! How weird is that? Shantel the bully wants to tell me something.)

Me: O-oh, Ok tell me. (I squinted at her.)

Shantel: Hmm, I don't know how to actually say it but I'm sorry. (What! Shantel, being sorry. That's the last thing I expected to hear from her.)

Me: H-huh. (I stattered.)

Debra: Yes you heard right, we are really sorry for everything we did to you. We are sorry for bullying you. We were just jealous of you. See, you have everything in life. You have every girls dream life. Your parents are rich, you are beautiful, you are intelligent, everybody at school likes you and on top of that you are the head girl of the school. (She mumbled giving me an empty stare. So this has been these girls beef all this while. MXM, why do people do this?)

Me: So this is why you all hated me all this while! Huh! Do you know how it feels to be bullied? You knew that I once considered you as my friends and all you did was to stab me in the back, making me look like a bad person. Do you know how much I used to cry when I went back home because I had no real friends at school? Do you know how much I adored you and trusted you guys? If it were not for Violet transfering to our school, I would have died of depression a long time ago!!! (I snapped at them, I was now sobbing and all I wanted to do was to vent my anger at them. The anger I've been holding and keeping for the past 7 years of my life.)

Debra: I'm so sorry Shennie. (A tear escaped her eye, she was so sincere.)

Shantel: I never thought that it could have ended up like this, it all just started like a little game. We never thought that it could turn us into monsters like this. (She lamented with a splotchy complexion.)

Violet: I'm happy that you said it your self Shantel. You were all monsters! (She said pulling me closer for a hug since I was all emotional.)

Debra: Please forgive us Shennie. I never meant to hurt you. (She sighed.)

Me: But you did hurt me! I'm not going to do anything to you, you are only humans and you make mistakes. I forgive you guys. I wish nothing bad upon anyone, I just wish that you'll be happy wherever life takes you.

(Shocked? Don't be. That's what my mom always taught me. She taught me to forgive and forget. We are all humans and we make mistakes. If we forgive others then God will also forgive us for our sins, so I just did that today. I hold no grudge on them, if they were meant to be punished then I leave that to the Almighty.)

Shantel: Thank you so much Shennie. You are too kind hearted. I had no hopes that you would forgive us for all the hurt we've caused in your life. (She gushed hugging me so tightly. I never thought this day could ever come. When I get this warm hug from Shantel, the bully.)

Me: It's ok, just don't do this to anyone in high school, OK? (I said hugging her back.)

Shantel: Never! (We broke the hug and Debra hugged me next.)

Me: It's ok, don't stress on it. Just remember to do this in future when someone wrongs you, just think of how I forgave you and just forgive too. (The rest of the crew came hugging me and apologising. It was so sweet, thanks to my mama.)

We took our bags and we went home.

Violet: Ay! Arti! You are too soft hearted. How can you forget all the evil things those girls did to you just like that! (She rebuked.)

Me: No! Vee, you must always forgive others nomatter how much they wronged you. It takes courage to come and ask for forgiveness to a person you've wronged. If I hadn't forgiven them my consience would never had been at peace. (I tried explaining things to her.)

Violet: Arti but----

Me: No buts Vee. This is a good act and by now you should've known that I'm a good person.

Violet: Ey, If kindness was a person, it would've been you my twinny. (She said sacarstically and we laughed.)

Me: Let's just focus on our last PRI school days.

*2 weeks later*

Lanton POV

I woke up listening to "What makes a man" 🎵🎤 by Westlife. I was feeling all down since today was the last day I'll be with my NayNay. I feel so down. I couldn't believe that this was going to be out goodbye and I don't know when I'll see her next. In weeks, months or years? I was so sad. If there were going to be awards for the saddest person in the whole world, I would've surely have won.

The past 2 weeks were the best days of my life. I must say that I know my NayNay more now. I couldn't believe it when she told me that she plays a piano pretty well. It's really cute, I wish to see her play it one day. She is just the best thing that has ever happened to me. I took her on a date on a Friday. I was so nervous that I might do it all wrong so the day before I called Alvin to give me tips.

Phone call:

Voice: Hello, this is Moleli Primary School, how can I help. (A sweet voice answered the call and I knew who it was.)

Me: Hello Miss Faith, it's Lanton Johnson can I please talk to Alvin the current head boy now.

Miss Faith: Oh, it's you Lanton. It was nice talking to you let me give Alvin the phone. (After what seemed like 3 minutes.)

Alvin: Buddy!!

Me: Hey! How are you doing dude.

Alvin: I was good till you called me, what's wrong? I know you can't just call me because you miss me. (I bursted out so loud.)

Me: You are too much. OK, let me get straight to the point. So as you know, we are going to finish writing soon so that means I won't be with Shennie, these are our last days. So I want to take her out on a mini-date.

Alvin: You just did the right thing by calling me or else you would have taken her to a boring place. (He said sacarstically. Seriouly!)

Me: OK, Mr Google can you tell me what to do. I wanna make it simple but special. (He always praise himself saying he knows everything that's why I called him Google 😂.)

Alvin: Ok, since you will be coming back from school just take her to the nearest lake at school, The Lake Skye.

Me: I didn't even think of that. Thank you my man. You are just the best.

Alvin: You said it your self. (I'm sure he had a smirk on his face, I just laughed my butt out. He is too much, crazy!)

Me: Haha, See you next week dude.

Alvin. Bye, treat our girl nice ok?

Me: If you were not my bestie I would have beaten you already. (He laughed and I just giggled.)

Alvin: Haha, Bye.

Me: Bye.

Call ended.

So I took his idea as always and went with my NayNay at Lake Skye. She was over the moon when I took her there. She was only going to be an hour late, to get to her father's work place. So I spent the entire hour with her. She had insisted on buying KFC for us, I tried to reason with her but she kept on insisting. Her wish was my command anyways. So I bought desert for us. She told me she loves strawberry, so I just bought strawberry yoghurts.

Me: Happy now? (Refering to her buying KFC for us.)

Shennie: More than happy. I don't want to be those types of girls who depends on boys and let then buy everything for them. (She gave me a dimpled smile.)

Me: But that's a guy's job.

Shennie: Not in my case, it's 50-50 ok? (How stubborn.)

Me: OK, let's dig in now.

Shennie: Yea! (She loves food too much, just like me though.)

We ate admiring the lake and I gave her a promising bracelet.

Me: I'm giving you this as a sign of my love for you. I might only be 14 but I know what love is. You made me feel it. You taught me what love is and I promise you that I'll never forget you. You are my precious pearl, my NayNay and the love of my life. (I had been practising these words for the past few days and I meant everthing I said.)

Shennie: I-I'm speechless Lenti. (Her eyes were now teary.)

Me: Don't ever lose this bracelet Ook? (I said looking straight into her eyes whilst touching her shoulders.)

Shennie: I will always keep it safe. It's really cute, thank you.

Me: You've started again.

Shennie: OK, I won't thank you but what must I say then.

Me: OK, everytime you want to say thank you just say love you.

Shennie: No! What if they are people around.

Me: Then you, just keep quiet.

Shennie: Ok, then.

It was the best day of our lives, it's a pitty that it had to end. I escorted her while eating our yoghurts. She was so excited and that's the only thing I want to see on her face, "happiness".
