Shennie POV

Voice: Your father is a criminal! I can't get married to a criminals son!

Voice 2: I don't know about all that, all I know is that I love you and you are the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with. Please don't do this to me!!!

Voice 3: No! My daughter will never marry you!! Your father's blood runs in your veins, what if you hurt our daughter!

Voice 2: Please don't do this!!! (He mumbled.)

The people there started to drag away the girl and the boy just pleaded with them not to take her away but his words were invane. A bolt from the blue, there was blood flowing on the flow. I couldn't see their faces properly because they were blur.

Me: No!!! (I screamed waking up from this nightmare. No, why do I keep having this nightmare.)

Mom: Pickle! What is it ? (She said rubbing my chin.)

I was sweating and trying very hard to catch my breathe.

Me: Nightmare. (I said while my chin was trembling.)

Mom: Another nightmare, hush baby. (She whispered as I was sobbing in her arms.)

Me: I think I'm fine now mom, maybe it's just the fear of the final exams. Let me go and bath now. (I really didn't want to worry her so I said putting on a fake smile.)

Yes, you heard it correctly the final exams. We are now in November and I have grown up a bit. I just turned 13 on the 1st of November. I was getting adorable by every minute that passed, not my words, Lenti's words.🤗

In the past 8 months life has been treating me so greatly except for the nightmare part. I don't even know why I keep repeating the same dream over and over again. Is it even normal? Everytime when I have that dream, I wake up sweating and out of breathe. Anyways, the school life was so phenomenal. Lenti and I were now the best of friends. Even if we had so many people who wanted to separate us we always found ourselves still holding strong. Many students tried to bad mouth Lenti to me but I turned a deaf ear on them. When they saw that what we had was just unbreakable they stopped poking their nose in our business. I then enjoyed my last school days with so much enthusiasm.

At home everything was angelic. Ellain was still at university, she is really dedicated. I almost forgot to tell you about my mystery brother inlaw. His name was Darel, he was very handsome. He was light in complexion amd he was very tall. They made a perfect couple with my sis. They went to the same university that's where they met. Darel was doing his third year, so he is 2 years ahead of my sis. This is how they looked at college.



ELLAIN AND DAREL

They were a true couples goal. My parents approved of their relationship. Darel came from a decent family, his father was an engineer and his mother was a nurse. He had two siblings. A boy aged 3 and a girl aged 6. He was the first guy Ellain has been introduced to his family and his mother was just too great. It's hard to find mother-inlaws likr her. She must be whipped, but I'm happy for her.

On the other hand dad was still in Singapore since August. He had gone there for a business trip. This is how my dad looked like.

Mom was going to her company here and there, just to see if everything was still going accordingly. She was always the sweet mom and she never stopped calling me Pickle even when I turned 13. It seems like I just have to tolerate this for the rest if my life. Nevertheless, she was so loving and caring. Here is my lovely one and only mom.



Mommy

Cherry and Paris were doing their first year in Advanced Level. They were doing good so far. They always did everything together. Their friendship was just too good. Our families were still inseparable, Paris' dad even accompaned dad at his trip. This is how they looked together.

They say friends that slay together stay together. That's what these two were just imitating.

I was ready to go to school now, I was nervous cause today we are going to start writing our final exams. I got ready for school and had breakfast quickly. My mom then dropped me off at school since dad wasn't here. The ride to school was just mom talking about her childhood. When she was also going to write her final exam. She said the only thing that helped her was prayer. Okay!

I was now sitting on my desk written "Shennie A Zhloy". Only God knows how nervous and sweaty I was. My heart was skipping a beat every second. There was total silence in the classroom as we were all waiting for the exam paper. We were writing English today. Our invigilator came in holding a pile of white papers. She left a single paper on each desk and that is when reality hit me. I have to nail this paper nomatter how hard it is. The invigilator told us to start writing. As I was about to open the paper, I felt this huge urge of giving a prayer just like my mom.

Me and my mind: Please Lord, I don't usually ask you for anything but funny here I am today asking you, No! Begging you to please help me through this test. Help me to remember everything I've learnt. Please Lord just to this one favour for me. Amen. (I sincerely prayed to God, I really want to pass.)

After I prayed it felt like a huge weight has been gotten off my shoulders. I felt so much relieved and when I opened the paper my inner self just screamed Hell Yea! The composition that we were asked to write, I was just practising it 2 days ago. It was called "The Accident I Witnessed". I began to write it, putting all expressions and idioms Mrs Clot had taught us. The whole of the exam was just great and when I came out I just said to myself "take a chill pill Shennie" and I just sighed. I then ran to Violet we were not writing in the same class.

Me: Twinny! (I screamed hugging her.)

Violet: Bestie! (She screamed hugging me back.)

Me: How was the exam? (I sighed breaking the hug.)

Violet: Superb! (It was evident with that dimbled smile on her face.)

After we talked a bit all the seniors were sent to their classes since the siren had not rang yet. We knew that we were only going back there to play and nothing more. We had finished our syllabus and all the revisions. Vee and I were sitting at the back seat of the class but on normal days we would seat on the front. Everyone was doing what he or she likes. Some were playing cards, some singing, some gossiping and we were just talking about what we will do when we finish writing. As we were talking someone darkened the door of our room. Yea, it was Lenti and this Wilson🙄. Can you believe this guy had the guts to tell me that he wants to take his rightful place in my life. Like he said that Lenti stole his place in my life and he wants it back. If only he knew how much I hated him, he wouldn't have even raised his lip to tell me that shit. Anyways, Lenti spotted us and he came straight to us.

Us: Hey guys!

Them: Hey ladies! (Ever since I turned 13 it has all changed from girls to ladies. Funny!)

Me: How's my favourite friend of them all. (I giggled as I looked at Lenti knowing exactly what Violet was about to say.)

Violet: So now I am invisible. (She claimed.)

Me: No, no one said that. (I teased her.)

Violet: Ok, I'm gone. (She said attempting to stand up but Lenti just pulled her down.)

Lenti: No, we will go instead. (He said looking at me.)

Me: Yea, let's go. Wilson take my sit here next to Vee. (I said standing up.)

Violet: No! Just stay right there Wil. I'm fine here alone since I don't have a friend anymore. (She said whining. Drama Queen.)

Me: Ok, Miss No-Friend I'm out, I will be back before you know it. (I said taking Lenti's hand and then we went to the school fish pond. It was silent and serene. We would come here whenever we get bored.

Lenti: So, how is life. (He said sitting down.)

Me: With you and Vee here, it's great. (I set next to him.)

Lenti: There's something I wanted to tell you for a long time now, but I wasn't sure if it's right till I confirmed it with Alvin. (He was a bit nervous. What did he want to tell me that's making him sweat like this?)

Me: Hmm, I'm your best friend, you can tell me anything. (I assured him)

Lenti: Hmm, I don't know how to say this, but I feel like if I don't I will have a guilt consience all my life. (He pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes at the same time.)

Me: Just say it Lenti, you are making me feel nervous now. (I said all confused.)

Lenti: For all these years I've known you, you are the only girl I've ever had as a friend. You are so simple and I really like your personality. (He said hesitantly as if he was running out of words.)

Me: Ok, thank you. (I said trying to ignore the awkwardness in him today.)

Lenti: NayNay, don't you understand this at all? (He asked raising both his eyebrows.)

Me: What are you talking about Lenti? Cause I already know that I am very important to you. That's not something new.

Lenti: No, NayNay, like our friendship there's more to that than just being friends. (OMG, was he about to propose to me? What must I say if he does? No, I see some movies with Cherry when a boy proposes to a girl but this is not a movie, it's real. Oh, what to do? 😱)

Me: Yes, I know, we are more than just friends. We are best friends!

Lenti: Ok, NayNay, let me make you understand this, I ....... (He started to stammer.)

Me: When did you start to stammer. (I raised my eyebrow.)

Lenti: I love you NayNay!!
