25- "This is a nightmare."
JAMIE
My phone beeped followed by a message from Ayu.
Her: Yet another confession today.
Me: Oh! I see. -_-'
Her: Don't worry, I rejected them all. They are all idiots who are simply judging me from a mere performance. You are lot better than them.
Me: Thank God! I thought you would start having second thoughts about me.
Her: Hmm... Someone's jealous. lol!
Me: Not really, but this is starting to piss me off. Maybe I should broadcast myself to the entire college that YOU are my girlfriend now. That would be fun ^ ^
Her: No, no. Don't even think about it. Everyone will start pestering me. I hate unwanted attention.
I replied a 'fine' and then the teacher came. It's been two weeks since that fest but those brainless brats are still on about asking her out. Almost six guys have confessed to her in those two weeks. She said that she is already dating someone but didn't mention the name. One of our classmates even asked Zen and me who her boyfriend is, but we kept our lips sealed.
"So what's the big surprise ma'am?" I asked her for the twentieth time today. Just because I didn't tell her the whereabouts of our first date, she is doing the same thing to me. She sure likes to take her sweet revenge on me. Arrogant woman!
I stood near the door as the train arrived at the station. I get off feeling disheartened and walked without looking back.
"Where do you think you're going without me, Mr James?" she enquired, her hands on her hips. She has picked a strange habit of calling me James frequently.
"Huh! What, Why?" I gasped when I exchanged looks between her and the train which had already departed. She grinned claiming her victory over nothing.
"Actually, I think I'd drop by at your house and prepare, a little something for you." she said acting innocent.
"Really? You do that for me," my face lit up feeling blissful. I gave up on inviting her to my apartment thinking that she'll reject me anyway like how she did before when we used to hang out earlier. I'd say that it was worth the wait.
"Yeah, since you need to feed something nutritious for your stomach, once a while."
I unlocked the door to my apartment and we entered inside.
"Wait Ayu." I commanded her as she was about to go ahead. She looked at me, confusion displayed through her eyes.
Might as well tease her a little.
"Hey! No, wait! Ahh-" she shrieked as I carried her bridal style all the way to my bedroom. I tossed her on my bed and took off my jacket never taking my eyes off her.
"Jamie! What are you-?" She asked her eyes growing wide when I got on top of her.
"Don't tell me you came all the way here for food." I said, my voice husky as I arched my body closer towards her. I saw her gulp as she stared at me, her lips crept into a small smile.
"You perv!" I heard her whisper before we joined our lips together, my body getting worked up once again. I rested my hands behind her neck supporting myself with my hands, keeping in mind not to put my entire weight on her as she kept pulling my head towards her. We kissed vigorously, our responses becoming more urgent every second. I quickly unbuttoned her jacket revealing her black tank top underneath. She helped me remove her jacket and we caught our breath for a second before kissing back again. Her hands found its way inside my shirt as she lifted them up a bit while I did the same with hers.
Things were getting heated up with our bodies pressing against each other. Her fingers explored my bare back stirring me inside. Man, she's driving me crazy. I don't know how long I can keep myself sane in front of this girl? I remove my tongue from her mouth, our lips wet. I heard a slight moan escape from her lips as I began a trail of kisses from her jawline to her shoulders, feeling her soft flesh on my lips and tongue. Her breath got subsided as I pulled down her top a little revealing a part of her pink bra and kissed the bare part of her skin. I was beginning to lose my sense as I took the initiative to go further.
"Ah! Jami-" she whispered breathing hard as she placed her hand in mine and I stopped. I guess this is as far we can go right now.
I plopped myself next to her catching my breath and faced her. "Sorry, I went a little-" I began to say when she placed a finger on my lips.
"Shh! It's okay." She hushed looking at me with those kind eyes of hers and closed them for a few seconds.
"You tired?" I asked.
"Not really, it's the opposite. Your kisses washed off the fatigue I had earlier." She chuckled. "Ah! That was one crazy make out session we had in a long time." She added.
"It surely was." I agreed, looking up at the cieling above me thinking about something but I was afraid to ask her.
"What are you thinking about?" She asked as if reading my mind. It almost scares me that she can read me like an open book.
"Something..."
"And..?"
"Uh! I... I was wondering when we'll have sex." I blurted out and looked away from her.
"Is that all you think about? You really are a certified pervert." she stated.
"Well I can't help but think with what I think. You shouldn't have asked me." I said feeling a bit annoyed.
"Hmm... This might be an issue." Ayu said thinking hard as she moved her head from side to side in a stupid way. I watched her in amusement. She can be so adorable sometimes.
"Okay! How about this?" She moved her body sideways facing me and rested her hand on my shoulders. "When our feelings will reach its highest point, say atleast about ninety percent that's when we'll do it. Happy?" She asked to confirm.
"That sounds like an utterly stupid and bizarre idea but guess I'll go with it." I said busy ruffling through her silky brown hair.
"I'm glad to hear that. Thank you for your co operation." She gave a sarcastic smile. "Try to remain sane till then okay." She winked.
"Hey you got it wrong. Don't think that I'm eager to have sex with you. I wouldn't have dated you then. I just want to spend more time and get close to you emotionally." I said getting a bit embarrassed.
"Oh! M-me too." She blushed.
"Okay... It's already evening. I don't want you to be late. I'll help you with the cooking." I said getting up but she pushed me down.
"Before that, there's a little something that should be done." She said with a serious expression.
"Huh! What?" I asked confused when she brushed my bare shoulders with her hands.
Her serious expression turned into a naughty one. "A little punishment for your misbehaving." She gave a wicked smile as she approached me closer.
...
We were just about to start preparing food when someone knocked the door. Ayu asked who could it be and I was certain about the person standing on the other side of the door. Well no use in hiding it now.
"Hi Jamie. I bought the things you asked me to." Said Sarah giving out a small bag that contained salt and tea leaves.
"Thank you Sarah. You're a big help." I said thanking her. Please go before....
"Hey what's that beside your neck?" she pointed out to the red spot at the part between my neck and my shoulder.
"Ah! This... well a mosquito bite." I laughed nervously and placed my hand on that spot.
"But it looks grave. Let me se-" she said but was cut off by the sound of Ayu calling me as I watched her surprised reaction.
"There are some things missing in your kitchen. I won't be able to make- Sarah?" Ayu approached and stopped when she saw her.
"Ayu?" Sarah said her eyes popping out.
The two of them looked at each other, their faces unreadable.
Well, this is awkward.
"Oh!" Sarah snapped. She glanced between the mark of my neck and Ayu. She must have realized it by now that this wasn't a mere mosquito bite. "Sorry to interrupt you guys. See you later." She said getting embarrassed and was about to walk away when Ayu stopped her.
"You're not disturbing us in any way. We were about to prepare dinner so please come in." Ayu said hesitantly.
"I'm still surprised. You and Ayu. Since when?" Sarah chuckled when we were all seated in my living room. Two girls in my house. Not a bad idea Jamie.
"It's been almost two weeks." I said trying to smile.
"What happened to Alex?" She asked Ayu.
"We broke up some time ago." Ayu said feeling guilty.
"Strange turn of events. So she was the girl you were talking about that day. I see. It makes perfect sense now. " Sarah said nodding to herself.
"What is she talking about?" Ayu asked getting suspicious.
"Nothing serious. Okay then, let's cook." I blushed a bit and rushed to the kitchen. Was it necessary to bring that up in front of Ayu?
Unfortunately Ayu sends me off to buy some ingredients for the dish she is about to make and I'm forced to leave. I'm a little worried about leaving those two together. It's not a good idea to leave your current girlfriend and your ex alone. The whole idea seems dreadful. I'll just come back as soon as I can.
AYU
I was busy chopping down the vegetables in his kitchen. I've never really been a fan of making food but I didn't hate it either. It depended on my mood. If I felt like it then I would prepare dinner or probably a new dish in my house and we would all eat it together. I think I'm just okay with cooking though my sister loves it. Although right now I'm becoming a little uncomfortable with Sarah. She was sitting on the slab of the kitchen watching me intently. I wonder how she feels about me dating him.
"Do you really like him?" Sarah asked breaking the awkward silence between us. "I don't understand. You said you loved Alex then what happened?"
She sure has a lot of questions to ask. I stopped with what I was doing. "It's a kind of a long story but you see the outcome now so yes... I l-like him." I stammered blushing hard. Argh! Is it so difficult to admit that I like him? Geez Ayu get a grip.
"You're getting shy after you left that horrible red mark on his neck. I thought you'd be more confident and bold." Sarah laughed.
"It's call a hickey." I shrugged and then remembered something. "Um! You just mentioned to Jamie that I was the girl he was talking about. Could you elaborate?" I said getting excited.
"It's a long story but you know the outcome so why bother." she repeated the same lines as me and let her tongue out. We shared a laugh.
"You remember when Jamie was sick and you told my mother to take care of him?" Sarah asked as she offered a small bottle of cold drink to me. I nodded.
"Well we haven't really been talking ever since we broke up last summer. So I came to him that evening and we started talking regularly. For that I personally thank you." she smiled.
"No need. I didn't even know."
Sarah gulped a sip of her cold drink and continued. "I sorta felt like we were returning to our old times. That feeling just came back to me and I asked if he would consider going out with me again. He hesitated at first but then told me that he currently likes someone although he didn't mention her name. When I looked at his face, I realized that he was telling the truth. I also realized that I've lost him forever. I couldn't do anything else. I finally made my resolution to move on." She said while looking at the floor below her.
"I'm sorry to hear that." I said feeling bad for her.
"Don't be. I guess that's how life goes. I'm happy for him in a way. You seem like a good match for him." Sarah said, her voice soft.
"Thanks. Well at that time, I really wanted your wish to come true and I was kind of happy when I knew that you were with him. That time I never imagined that I would end up having feelings for him. Things just happened." I admitted. I knew how much she liked him before when I first met her. It must have been tough for her.
"Hmm! I understand. When I think about it now, we weren't a good match for each other. We had our differences that we couldn't get past through. Well I'm thankful to him in a way. I've come to learn many things from him. Don't worry though I think I've moved on." She gave a sad smile.
"So do you fancy anyone right now?" I asked trying to change the topic.
"If you're talking about fancy, fancy then there are many guys especially actors. There's also one guy in our batch who is really hot but sadly he's already taken." she pouted.
"Alright, let me rephrase it. Is there someone you kind of have a crush on?" I asked.
"No one as of right now. Uh!- Don't get any weird ideas but there's this joker in my class who I'm friends with. He keeps pestering me to go out with him and I always reject him. He gets on my nerves."
"Sounds like the exact opposite to what you're claiming." I teased.
"Oh puhleease!" She rolled her eyes. "I'm just happy that someone's giving attention to me. Deep down I'm afraid to try actually. I fear the rejection and besides I don't even like him." she declared.
"Yeah, let's see what happens. Don't forget to tell me when you date him."
"In your dreams. Actually I'm more curious to see what happens to you two. I may have only been with him for seven months but I've come to know him very well. You might not like it when I say this but I think he's never been serious for any girl in his entire life, including me. You know the kind of girl he would want for a lifetime. He did love me, I know that but not as much as I did. What will you do Ayu?" Sarah asked playfully.
As much as I didn't want to admit I knew she was telling the truth and that's what I'm most afraid of. I want to try to be serious with him but does he want that? Will we even last? I don't even want to think about it. So for now, I don't bother and let our relationship go as it is. I thought about her question and a smile played through my lips.
"Well, I'll just have to make him fall harder for me." I said with determined eyes.
"Hope for the best" she smiled differently from last time.
...
"This sure is a nightmare to watch. I think my eyes are fooling me." Jamie said when he came sometime later.
By the time Jamie came back we were already laughing and giggling like two normal friends. At first I was a bit uncomfortable with her but now we were getting along well, much to Jamie's horror. I was kind of glad to have met Sarah today. We had our girl talk and even discussed about Jamie, mostly the things we disliked about him.
After Sarah left, Jamie helped me with making the rest of the dinner. We made matar paneer, chapati and custard. We laid the dishes on the table near the sofa and ate there since he didn't have a dining table. He had his eyes on me almost the whole time we were eating, which made me all warm and fuzzy inside. It was my first time having home-made dinner with him like this and it definitely made me feel special.
"Thanks for accompanying this lonely man for dinner." He said while eating custard.
"You should find yourself a roommate if you feel that lonely here." I suggested.
"And disturb our privacy, no way. You know, I can totally imagine you living here with me. Maybe you should become my roommate." Jamie said in a low husky voice.
"You know that's not possible." I said while circling my spoon around the bowl having my last bite and got up. "Gotta go."
Jamie sighed and accompanied me to the door. I could see that he was getting a little gloomy. I began to feel lonely as well.
"Quit making that gloomy face. You'll see me tomorrow anyway." I reassured, making a childish face and kissed him on his cheek.
"I just wished you'd stay a little longer. Shall I drop you home?" He asked.
"No need. I'll go there directly by train. Good night Jamie."
"Yeah good night Ayu. Call me when you reach home." He smiled and gave a quick peck on my lips.
"You... What if somebody saw us?" I freaked out looking all around me and he laughed.
While walking back home I couldn't help but smile to myself. I could feel our relationship growing with time. Everything is alright so far. It won't be the way Sarah predicted, right? I'll just hold on to that little hope that things will change with time and so will he in some ways.

I bet you guys must be surprised at Sarah's reappearance lol! So what do you think of Jamie and Ayu's relationship so far? Look forward to it and plz vote and comment.
