Hamid

Life is unpredictable.
You never know what the next second brings for you.
It is premeditated ; which cannot be changed. The thing which is intended for us will occur and no power on Earth can stop it.

Maybe this day was also intended for me.

It was the day of my nikah. My second Nikah. I never knew this day would come again in my life. Nevermore did I imagined marrying in presence of my child.
But that is what fate is. Which can't be assumed.

Allah (SWT) has predetermined everything in our lives and has power over all things. When Allah (SWT) creates us, He is well aware of all the intentions we will have, all the choices we will make, and all the things that we will do in our lives before we do them. He chooses what He will allow us to do and what He will not according to His infinite wisdom, and then has it recorded as our destiny.

And I was destined to be a groom.
Again

I had to take next step in my life, a beginning to start a new life with someone, I barely know.

I adjusted my knee length kurta; which was embellished by a white waistcoat, engraved with delicate needlework. My hair was perfectly set.

I took a deep breath.

Flashback

"Does this outfit suit me?
Does my hair look good?
Is my beard in a good shape? "

My never ending blabber or you may call it my nervousness resonated in the room.

Usually, I'm not an an anxious one but I got cold feet a few minutes before my wedding.

A mixture of variant feelings evoked inside me. It was combination of happiness, excitement, nervousness and what not.

"Hamid, you need to calm down." Bilal insisted.

"Yeah, man. Take a deep breath. You are about to be wedded not hanged." Abaan, one of my mates chuckled.

To which Bilal let out a snort.

"I thought you guys were here to help me out but you are busy making fun of me" I said, smacking his arm.

" Ow! Man, I seriously didn't know you'd be a panicking groom on your big day." Abaan said, smirking at me.

"Hey! Who said I am panicked?" I retorted.

"Yeah right and pigs can fly." He rolled his eyes.

"Pigs like you can!"

"Stop being so immature!"

"No, You stop being numskull!"

"And you-"

"Guys! Enough of this now. We have a wedding to attend, so give a break to your bickering and lets head to the hall." Bilal commanded.

"One last thing...Does my breath stinks?" I whispered.

"Hamid-" Bilal started but was interupted by Abaan.

"Yes! Oh my gosh, you smell awful! Bhabi is gonna faint when you'll say 'Qubool hai' ". Abaan held his nose between his thumb and index finger.

He was about to recieve another smack but i burst out , leaving us all in fits of laughter, gradually lowering my nervousness.

End of flashback

It was a wedding just like before but the atmosphere was totally different. There was lack of excitement.....

Bilal's voice pulled me out of the trance "Hamid, good to go?" He said, knocking the door.

"Um..yeah."

"Lets leave then."

"Yeah..and is Saif ready?" I asked

"He's already in the car."

"Okay then lets go."

We were seated in the car ready to leave to Miss Naureen's place, for the Nikah.

I highly doubted that she'll agree to the Nikah. But it surprised me when I received a phonecall from her aunt, in agreement of it.

The car ride was in peace as neither of us made any conversation. I glanced in Saif's direction, who was seated on the back pasenger seat, perfectly dressed in his new sherwani. He was busy observing the view outside the window.

"I'm glad you made the right decision." Bilal said, interrupting the silence.

I faced him. "Your support was what made me."

"He's happy with it, isn't he?" He asked nodding towards Saif.

"Guess he is. Or he wouldn't have agreed to this."

"Everything will be fine, Hamid. There always comes a good thing after the pain." He said as he drew his hand from the steering wheel and patted my shoulder.
He gave me a reassuring smile to which I genuinely smiled back .

As we got closer to her house, my heart started to pound rapidly.

At last, we reached her place. The house was pretty decent. It was filled with few guests.

I greeted her uncle and her cousin, Ali and a few other guests.
In no time the Imam arrived and began the wedding rituals.

He recited the surahs and asked me, "Do you Hamid accept Naureen Abbas as your lawfully wedded wife?"

I inhaled sharply.

It's time. Time to move on; only for Saif. I thought to myself.

You need to do this.
My mind rendered me.

"Qubool hai" I spoke with newfound confidence.

Finally! Hamid has consent to the nikah. But what about Naureen? Will she agree?
Stay tuned until next update.

PS: I'm very bad at describing men's outfits. Plz bear with me for that ;)
