Just A Lullaby For You
A rustle of wings flew into the bunker of the Winchesters one evening. Dean had just put on his pajamas in time to hear a knock at his door. "Come in," He said, shutting his dressers. Sam popped his head in and smiled. Dean looked up and returned it, sitting on his bed.
"I'm just coming to tell you good night," He said. "Hope this isn't weird or anything to you..." Dean chuckled.
"It's not but good night to you too, Sammy," Sam stood there. Dean and Sam shared an awkward stare. "Don't make me do it." He whispered.
"Please?" Sam sang. Dean grunted then sighed.
"Fine," There was a long pause. "Sweet dreams." Sam smiled even wider.
"You too, Dean!" He said, already down the hall to his bedroom for the night. Dean shook his head with a smile.
"The things I do for my brother." Castiel had teleported to the bunker and was searching the brothers'. I'm sure this is the right address. I mean- I saw Dean's car outside, Castiel thought to himself. He turned down an empty hall. He walked fast before he saw Sam in a doorway, talking to someone. Dean, Castiel immediately thought. That's Dean's bedroom. Sam eventually left and Castiel made his way inside. "Whoa! Hey there Cas! Where ya been buddy?"
"Well then," Castiel said, looking around the room. "I've been in Heaven. They assigned me some duty work. I came to check in on you guys. Anything on the demon tablet with Kevin?" Dean shook his head.
"No, Kevin's still adjusting to being a prophet. He can barely read the chicken scribble. Any other reason why you're here?" Dean hummed with a smirk on his face. Castiel rolled his eyes and sat down next to Dean, after shutting his door softly.
"I did want to see you, Dean, but Heaven was-" Dean shushed him with his finger.
"Cas, you talk too much. Heaven can wait. I've been missing you for weeks, baby." Dean said and kissed Castiel's jaw then his cheek. Castiel flustered.
"I'm-uh- Dean my face is on fire." Dean's lips parted in a chuckle.
"You're blushing, Cas. It's a human thing."
"I must be wearing off of you." Dean then pinned Castiel down on the bed.
"I hope you are. Cas, you look delicious right now." Dean kissed up his neck. Suddenly another presence entered the room.
"Dean." Castiel warned.
"What? What's wrong?" He asked. Dean was then whipped to the floor. His head hit back. He groaned. "What the hell? Cas? Cas look OUT!" Dean's eyes widened. Castiel had sat up and looked at him and Naomi had appeared. She took out angel cuffs. But first she drew out her angel blade.
"Let's go Castiel." She said.
"I'm not going anywhere without Dean and besides why would I want to come with you?"
"You really don't have a choice." She grabbed Castiel's arm and yanked him off the bed. He dropped with a thud, accidentally biting the inside of his lip, which started to bleed. He touched his lip and saw the blood. He looked around and saw the scenery had changed.
"Dean?" He called. No reply came. Naomi stepped out from the darkness.
"He's gone, Castiel. Now you're back here."
"Back at Heaven? Let me out of here." Naomi clicked her tongue.
"No. Now will you actually listen? Jeez. Sit." Naomi used her hand to bring a chair to make Castiel sit in. Castiel struggled against her grip. She tied him up and put on the hand cuffs.
"Naomi. What is the cause of this?"
"Winchester boys always causing trouble," She mumbled. "You're getting too involved with the Winchesters'. Especially Dean Winchester. Whatever goes on between you." Castiel explained their profound bond. "I don't care, Castiel! I won't allow it! It's unholy and would cause chaos. If you won't give the real reasons I will have to get it out of you." Her angel blade reappeared in her hand.
"Naomi- please- NO!" Castiel said hesistantly then screamed. She had cut a bit of his skin, letting grace flow out.
"Castiel, tell me," She demanded. Castiel stared at her and didn't say anything. She grunted and cut his skin again. Another scream rattled out. "If this won't work something else will." She said through clenched teeth. The blade disappeared and she made her way over to the table, and grabbed the drill. "I didn't want to result to this." She mumbled. She turned it on and looked at the squirming and struggling Castiel. She got as close as she could and drilled the drill into his head. She accessed his memories with him and Dean and found the profound bond between both of them. Their souls combined and glowing gold.
It was remarkable. She shook her head and remembered what she was looking for and kept going. Suddenly she found something that would ruin everything. Their song. Dean's lullaby along with Castiel's. Plead the fifth, which explained Castiel's life and in rescuing Dean's. "Hm, interesting." She hummed. She took the drill out of Castiel's head that healed slowly. Castiel panted heavily. Naomi then took a test drive and started singing the song. Castiel cried and pleaded out. Naomi saw Castiel fade away and see something open in his angel heart. A golden light that was eccentric and blinding. Naomi shushed Castiel and took the angel blade out again she cut a line across his throat. She collected Castiel's grace and sent him back to Dean.
Dean was taking care of the angel now, hearing his cries. "Dean, she drew from my lips, she drew our-our Hallelujah." Castiel cried. Dean gave him kisses and tried to calm down his angel. "She m-made me human Dean. I'm powerless without being a-an angel. I've failed y-you." He continued. Dean pulled him into a tight hug.
"Cas, you're not powerless. You mean everything to me. You have great fighting skills and you're really confident. It's okay. I'm here." Dean shushed him. He rocked him and Castiel for a while before they sang the song together. Their souls linked once again and everything was swell for the timing.
