Smiling Corpse (Prologue)
"Ahhhhhhhhh!" A female scream could be heard from the corridors. A teacher, dressed in a dress and an apron with bright flowing hair, ran to her side.
"What is it Sonia?!" The woman asked urgently. The Ultimate Princess couldn't speak, so she pointed further down the hall. A body lay there. The teacher ran down the hall to inspect it.
A girl with long pink hair and a bushy maroon scarf lay there. She was dressed in an oversized T-shirt, a miniskirt, and grey uggs. She had a microphone attacked to her ear. Her eyes were open, not looking shocked or scared, but just a stoic stare. Her skin was the color of snow, not green, but pure white. She lay on her right side, her legs and arms naturally laying on front of her, forming a C shape. A blood stain was occupying a chunck of her head, matching that of the wall. Her left thigh had been stabbed with a knife, and her neck was wrapped with a wire. The most haunting thing, was the charming smile she wore. A peaceful smile, as if she had just woken up to birds chirping melodiously. She clutched a note in her hand. The teacher looked over to her student.
"Go get Mr. Sakakura, Sonia, and alert the Headmaster! I'll keep watch over the body!" The blonde ran. She alerted the authorities, and the headmaster. They all arrived. Some students had also gathered her around, peeking from the other hall.
"Who is she?" A red head with freckles asked. No one answered.
"She looks young, could she be a first year?" A girl with silver hair and red eyes whispered.
"Her smile is damn creepy." A short blonde commented.
"Students, this is no place for us, let's continue our lesson." The woman led them back to their classroom.
A few minutes later, a black haired man with a questionable hairstyle entered the room.
"Juzo, did a murder really happen, again?" The teacher asked the man solemnly.
"I'm afraid so. She was a first year, Mariya Kuriyama, a Russian immigrant. She was the Ultimate Voice Actor." The man, Juzo, explained.
"W-why did th-the k-kill-ler d-do so mu-much to the v-victim?" A girl with eneven purple hair stuttered. "S-surely they did-didn't ne-need to d-do all th-that." The ultimate nurse squeaked out.
"They must've really wanted her dead. She was stabbed in the thigh, she hit her head on the wall, probably by force, she was strangled with that wire, she was even poisoned." Juzo told them. He held a stern expression, but deep down, he was as nervous as the students. An ultimate was murdered, in the school which was supposed to be a beacon of hope. The blonde, whom discovered the body, gasped.
"That's awful! I decree that a festival be held in her honor!" The ultimate princess stood up and announced that to the class. A few students nodded, while others muttered in agreement.
"What was with the creepy as h*ll smile?!" The short boy with shaved blonde hair asked the man. Her smile, it was so haunting among everything else.
"Her smile, that gave her her new name. They're calling her the Smiling Corpse, S.C. for short." Juzo sighed leaning against the wall. "The student council are having a meeting. The class rep has to come one with me." Juzo looked over to the teacher, Chisa Yukizome.
"Chiaki, go with Mr. Sakakura for now please." The teacher wasn't as cheery. No one was. Even the short and foul mouthed ultimate traditional dancer wasn't in the mood to call out insults.
The pink haired girl looked up slowly, her sleepy eyes darting to Juzo.
"I'll come." She yawned, picking up her 3ds and walking to the front of the room. She followed the man to the student council room. The rest of the class were silent for the rest of the school day.
The student council members nervously twiddled their thumbs, and twirled their hair. Chiaki yawned as she took a seat.
"Murder is not welcome in a school environment!" Her underclassman shouted. Kiyotaka Ishimaru was the ultimate hall monitor, and was very strict about the rules.
"I mean, why would anyone want that poor girl dead?" Another boy spoke. All the students liked down, depressed by the ominous aura encasing the school.
"Let's focus on why we're here, idle chatter won't get us anywhere." Third year Michiko Volkov spoke.
"But, she was your cousin, how can you be so calm?" Another girl asked.
"We're here to discuss what to do about the murder, not about the victim. Kyouko Kirigiri of Ishimaru's class will be investing the murder. We need to calm the students down." Michiko looked at the group with a stern expression.
"Hey, hey. Sonia said that we should have a festival in her honor." Chiaki spoke up. She looked over to Michiko.
"Sonia Nevermind of Nosvelic, correct? It's a nice idea, but do mind that the students won't be willing to make the festival memorable in this state." Michiko looked to the rest of student council. "Any other ideas?" The room was silent.
"How about we take a look through all of her achiements? And, have the whole Hope's Peak do it together. Didn't she have another cousin on the reserve course?" A boy asked Michiko.
"You mean Umi, that's a notable idea. I'll look into it." Michiko stated. "Now, let us have our own moment of silence for Mariya. The room was silent for minutes, until Chiaki spoke.
"Let's say a few words about her. Y'know, to honor her spirit?" Chikai rubbed her eyes and yawned. "I'll start. She always wanted us to see things from the miniscule perspective." The room went on until reaching Michiko.
"She taught us all to think with our head and not our heart, and commit with our heart and not our head. That is all. Ishimaru, would you like to dismiss this meeting?" Michiko looked over to the black haired boy.
"Yes, this student council meeting is now adjourned!" The students all slowly rose from their seats, picking up anything they may have brought along. A crowd of student surrounded Michiko, attempting to comfort her. She ignored them, walking ahead silently.
~After School - The Fountain~
"Hey, Chiaki! How are you?" Chiaki felt a hand on top of her head. She looked up to see Hajime Hinata.
"Hi Hinata~Kun. We can play this new game, I guess." Chiaki wasn't as earger to play her video games. A haunting picture of the girl's corpse screamed for attention inside of her head.
"Chiaki, you must be feeling down. I heard a student was murdered." Chiaki nodded silently. Hajime sat next to her, and they played in silence.
~A Year Later - ???~
"Guess what?! Our "special guest" has awoken, please welcome her warmly! Or don't, 'cause this bear doesn't care!" The monochrome bear welcomed the girl, the smiling corpse, to the killing games.
