↳ CHAPTER THREE:

AN ENEMY ↵

       SEREN DECIDED THAT LILY EVANS WAS the brightest witch of our age within that one day. The brilliance of the young woman astounded Seren and her wisdom alone made Seren yearn to learn more. 

After Mary left the two girls to change into robes, Lily began to animatedly discuss with her new friend about Hogwarts and the curriculum that it had.

Seren fell in love with the redheaded girl and her enthusiasm towards learning. She giggled at her scrunched nose as she told Seren her hatred for Remus' friends– especially James Potter. 

"He always is flirting with me!" Lily groaned, burying her head into her legs that were pulled to her chest. 

"Because he's in love!" Seren joked with her, giggling at her flushed features. The red hair and bright red skin was a comical combination.

"He loves everyone," she sighed and Seren sat up, turning to Lily. 

"What do you mean, Lily?" 

"He's such a flirt! Like if he wasn't such a ladies man I would–" she stumbled over her words, she was getting more embarrassed the more she talked. "I would but I wouldn't want to have someone who has others on his mind as well..." 

Seren nodded in understanding, "one day Lily Evans, you will marry the perfect guy for you. I mark my words." 

She smiled at the brunette girl who sat beside her, "you really think so?"

Seren smiled back, "you will get your happy ending."

            THE TRAIN RIDE WAS ALMOST AT AN END, but before it did, the two girls had a visitor in their compartment. Neither wanted an interruption from their conversation at hand but smiled nicely at the newcomer. 

"Well well well, look who it is." Seren peeked around Lily to see a beautiful girl before them. She was blonde and tall, obviously graced with good genes. 

"Hi, my name is Serene, what's yours?" The young brunette asked brightly, sticking her hand out in greeting. She didn't want to come off as rude, she needed as many friends as she could get. 

"Marlene," she told her tightly, a look on her face as she took in the new girl's  offered hand. 

"Where's Sirius?" Marlene turned away from Seren with a bored expression. Her eyes focused onto Lily who had an annoyed grimace upon her beautiful face. 

"I don't know, probably hiding away from you, Marlene." She told the girl loudly, hoping she would get a hint. Seren covered my mouth, a smile on my face. Good riddance. Maybe Marlene wouldn't be such a good friend

"Don't say that," Marlene hissed, pushing her way up to Lily. "He is my boyfriend. Maybe you should stop being so jealous, Evans."

"I'm not jealous of you, Marlene." Lily hissed her face turning red, "maybe if you stopped being such a slut for any guy who looks at you, maybe I would like you a bit more. Also, are you sure that you and Sirius are dating? He looked pretty close to a Ravenclaw earlier. " 

Marlene stepped towards Lily, a look of pure evil in her eyes. Seren took it upon myself to step in between the two, hoping to defuse the tension a little. "Maybe you should leave." 

"THAT IS ENOUGH!" Marlene shrieked, clenching her fists at the two of us. She was upset over Lily's comment, that's for sure. "I will make both of your lives a living hell."
