↳ CHAPTER FIVE:

HUMILIATION ↵

        IT HAD BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE SEREN had been sorted into Gryffindor where her brother, Remus was. Honestly, she didn't see much of her brother, besides the usual meal time in the hall. Seren, would be mostly studying or having fun with her close friends: Lily, Mary, Sybil, and a girl name Dorcas in Ravenclaw. 

It was the start of Seren's fifth year and she was very impatient as she waited in the hall for her friends to meet up with her on the first day of class. 

"Oi, Ren!" Startled, Seren dropped her glass of orange juice on her robes with a shriek. A laugh followed her groan and she turned to glare at the source of her pain: Sirius Black. 

"What the hell do you want, Sirius?" Seren asked, she cursed him silently as magic wasn't allowed and she was dripping in juice. She needed a wardrobe change. 

"Just wanted to say hi," Sirius told her cheekily.

"Hi," Seren told him with a deadpan expression, showing to him that she wasn't amused. "Now, I really need to go change before class, thank you very much."

"Not my problem you're so jumpy!" 

Seren wished that she could hex him. "Listen, Sirius, after last years incident, you and your idiotic friends promised to leave me alone." She stood up abruptly from the table, maneuvering herself away from the table and Sirius Black.

"Look," Sirius pulled her back to him and her eyes locked onto his grasp on her wrist. "I'm sorry about that, really." He let go of her wrist, hoping she would hear him out.

"He won't talk to me anymore, Sirius!" Seren said angrily. "That was our third date– he was about to ask me to be his girlfriend!" 

"Well look how that turned out, eh?" Sirius joked and she glared up at the shaggy haired boy. 

It was known as The Slug Club Halloween Party prank: where all of the gummy slug candies were replaced with actual slugs. Funny enough, Seren was a member of the Slug Club, as was her brother. But– her brother was "sick" on Halloween.

And when Seren went with her crush, Dirk Cresswell, it ended in disaster. He had finally asked Seren out on a date and it went great and one day, he wanted her to attend Slughorn's event with her and she was so excited.

"I ate one of your slugs, Sirius–– and puked it all over him!" Seren yelled loudly and she did not care that the whole hall could hear her. "I hate you all for doing that to me. You humiliated me and you didn't even apologise to me for what you did." 

She turned away from him and stomped away, hurt all over again for what he did. 

"Ren!" Sirius called out at her retreating figure with a half smirk on his face before it disappeared. She didn't answer and Sirius just watched her go, a look of regret on his face. 

"I'm sorry," he managed to whisper, sticking his hands into the pockets of his robes. 

But it was too late, she was already gone.
