How is your Monday going?

"We will cross the bridge when we come to it Drew!"

Ariel's audacious voice was filled with determination eighteen years ago when she first found the fainted child.

But now that they had arrived at the said bridge after a long journey of eighteen years which was filled with bitter-sweet moments, her energy seemed to have drained out and her courage appeared to have escaped presenting her in the light of a coward.

                                        The gravity of the aftermath of her actions was slowly settling in, making her panic with every passing day as she knew that the guardians were keeping an eye on the ones that migrated to mingle with mankind.

It was done not only to ensure their safety but also to prevent them from doing something that is illegal or utterly psychotic.
                             For example, things ranging from "Walking in the daylight, with no 'Vampire approved sunscreen' or proper spray tan" to  "Adopting a human child!"

Which is exactly what Ariel and Drew did and it was punishable by law.

Drew's observing eyes fell upon his wife and Elena. He noticed how reluctant Elena was to return the hug to her mother as she stood there frozen from fear as she was sunken deep down in doubt.

"Do you feel betrayed Elena?"
Drew questioned his daughter.

"What do you mean dad?"

Asked Elana as if she was in a dream.
Her lips were quivering while her fingers were shaking and Drew took her hand and clasped it tight as he placed his other hand on top of Elena's head.

His wife raised her head that she rested upon Elena's shoulder as she wept and muttered in a hoarse voice: "They'll be infuriated once they got to know! They will kill my daughter! They said humans should never know about us Drew!"

Drew's eyes were glistening with helpless tears as he knew that they had no way out of this.

"We can't do that Ariel! You know about them as much as I do. Or perhaps even better as your father was a guardian!
Trying to run away from them will be the same as asking for trouble. We have to disclose the truth to them as they are the ones that hold the power now. "

Ariel's tear-filled eyes were sending draggers towards her husband as she glared at him in disbelief.

"Are you crazy!"

Drew did not even bother to take his wife seriously as he was fully aware of what would happen if they tried to run away, therefore he said that they had no other choice than to disclose the truth.

He knew addressing Elena at the moment was more important than consoling his wife. Now that she knows the hidden truth she looked terrified and her face looked as pale as the petals of a snowdrop while her cherry red lips were quivering.

"Elena answer me! Do you feel betrayed? Do you hate us for lying to you for your whole life?"

Drew questioned the confused girl before him, that was figuring what was happening around her.

"Dad what do you mean?"

"This is not a joke Ellie! Me and your mom, we are vampires. And right now we are to go back to our own homeland. But we have to figure out a way to get you there." Drew spoke fast as his grip on Elena's hand became steadier and steadier.

After a pause, he continued, "And the guardians are the ones that can help us, honey! They can either make you forget everything, or...".

Drew came to an abrupt halt once again and he bit his nether lip ad he stared at his wife whose guilty sobs filled the room.

"Or what dad? What is it?"

Elena straightens herself slightly pushing Ariel away from her body.

"Or they can turn you in to a Vampier!"
Ariel finished what her husband was reluctant to say.

Silence ruled the room for a second.

Elena was thinking out loud in her head while her mother was dumbstruck by indecision.

The cold air stung her body making her hands embrace her self. Beads of sweat that wet her dreadlocks ran down her face leaving a cold trail on her hot face.

Elena's hot breath fanned painfully against her upper lip that was stinging as it was sore from biting and crying.

The quick and short breath slowed down to a deep sigh when her blurry eyes reached so that of her father.

"Would that make me a Vampier?... Just like you?"

Drew nodded.

"That way we can be together?"
Elena's fragile voice could be barely heard.

"Yes, honey! But only if you want it to happen"
Murmured Ariel.

Her head was clouded by confusing thoughts. A dreadful decision she never thought she would have to make. A situation she never imagined she would be. And two people, sorry two Vampires that she thought to be her parents but in reality were deceivers.

Elena was thinking fast. It was hard. Hard to make a decision. It would make her lose everything. Would collapse her paradime. What she just learnt changed everything she knew about the world and about what surrounds her.

"Yes, Mother! I'm ready. I want to become... a Vampier." Said Elena and paused before saying, "I do"
