"But I suck at baseball." Colton whined with a pout as Edward shoved a white cap over her hair.

He let out a musical laugh, gold eyes glinting with amusement. "You're not going to have to participate don't worry. All you have to do is meet my family and watch."

"But I've already met the majority of your family." She argued as he began to lead her away from her parked car and further into the woods.

"You've met two of them and both times it was extremely brief."

It was true. The only two she had met was Noah and that was a bit out of default and then there was Alice. The pixie like vampire had all but launched herself at the brunette the first time she had seen her at school after Edward and her had decided to be together.  If one could even call it that.

"Well you've not met any of mine so I think it's only fit." She huffed while trailing behind him, stumbling slightly as her foot caught on an exsposed root.

"Actually, I've met your ancestors so technically that means I have met your family." Edward informed her smartly, his know-it-all tone making Colton suddenly have the urge to trip him.

"That does not count, nope not all. It's not my fault that you're an old man." She spat, her expression less then amused.

"Well you're going to meet this old man's family today and there isn't anything you can do about it." He stated  matter-of-factly, leaving no room for argument as they entered into an open field, revealing the distant figures of his family members on the other side.

Colton glared at him while intertwining their fingers. "I hate you so much right now."

"Of course you do," He mused before dipping down and pressing a swift peck to her pouted lips.

She let a small huff as he began to drag her across the clearing, her feet digging rather harshly into the ground as if it would slow him down.

It didn't.

Colton instantly felt on edge as soon as they came close enough for her to actually see their faces. She had never been around so many vampires at one time and it was making her skin crawl. What made it worse was that they all turned to face them as soon as they arrived.

"Everyone," Edward called for the attention they already seemed to have. "This is Colton. Colton; this is my family."

Her throat seemed to close as she shrunk under their amber gaze, her surpressed wolf genes telling her to get out while still had enough blood in her system to do so. But then Edward squeezed her hand reassuringly, obviously catching a few of her louder thoughts and she swallowed the thump in her throat. "Hi."

A women with soft caramel hair smiled brightly as the single word passed from her lips. She danced over to her and squeezed Colton into a tight hug that made her bones stiffen. "It's wonderful to finally meet you Colton," She pulled back with a grin. "I'm Esme, Edward's adopted mother."

Colton nodded awkwardly, not really knowing how to respond. Esme didn't seem to mind as she began to introduce everyone, even though she already knew who everyone was. Despite this, she nodded and forced a smile that she hoped didn't look like a cringe and remained stuck to Edward's side for comfort.

"We're so happy to have you as part of the family." Carlisle breezed with a polite smile that Colton could only hope her own resembled in some shape or form.

"Thank you for welcoming me, despite you know, everything." She stumbled out, her words earning her a bright grin from Alice.

"Well," The smallest vampire clapped, "Noah and Bella will be here just in time for the thunder so let's set up."

Colton let out a breath as they all turned away and began to place small bases around the field that now she looked at it, had the markings of a baseball field. Edward seemed to notice her deflation and pressed a kiss to her forehead. "You're doing great, don't worry."

"Thanks, the werewolf genes are just making it a bit hard to relax I guess." She muttered softly, leaning further into her mate's hold.

"Well thank you for trying, it means a lot."

"I know you would do that same."

True to Alice's prediction, Noah and Bella arrived shortly after. Bella dressed in very similar gear to Colton except for the fact that while the quilette girl wore shorts, her friend opted for jeans.

"Aren't you freezing?" Bella questioned from under her well insulated jacket, her brown eyes fixed on Colton's almost completely exsposed legs.

"No, I run hot." She shrugged turning her attention back to the vampires that raced around the field, their game becoming too much of a blur for Colton to pay attention.

Bella seemed to drop it after that, turning back just in time to see her and her best friend's boyfriends crash together, the action causing a sound like boulders clashing to echo around them. Colton let out a chortled laugh which earned her a playful glare from her counterpart and Bella couldn't help but smile. She would have never expected to ever actually see Colton and Edward together. It just seemed like there were so many opsticales, even more so then her and Noah. But now, seeing the way they looked at each other, she could imagine what it would be like without them being together.

"Stop."

OH MY GOD IS THIS AN UPDATE? YES IT IS. I KNOW IT'S BEEN A WHILE BUT I'VE BEEN HAVING SOME PROBLEMS WITH THIS STORY AND CARRYING IT ON. BUT HERE WE GO.
