Jungkook isn't alone.
A stunning and half-naked blond is standing in front of him, pressing her hands on his chest. Once I see the image in front of me, my heart clenches. I feel how my eyes fill with tears, and for a moment, I feel dismayed.
When the door makes a slight noise, he turns to look at me. His stare is serious and when his eyes lock with mine, I can see how they fill with panic. He separates himself from her and walks towards me.
"Areum..." He says, stretching his arm towards me.
"Don't touch me!" I shriek, stepping away.
My chest feels tight, and I'm holding back the tears that are about to fall. He looks at me without knowing what to say, and I can see how he saddens.
"Who is she?" The blond asks crossing her arms over her chest, still standing in the middle of the room.
I can't move, but I can't stay quiet.
"I'm no one..." I respond, directing myself to Jungkook. "You've left that very clear."
Then, with the dignity I have left, I turn around and walk towards the stairs. I hear Jungkook's steps behind me and then I feel his hand take mine. In a small pull he stops me and I stare into his eyes. I can't help a small tear escape me.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know that-" He starts to apologize.
"That I was going to come? Well I noticed." I say, clearly upset. "You were too busy with the perfect blond inside your dressing room."
"No, of course not. She's just a friend." He answers, shaking his head.
I laugh with irony.
"Of course, because friends walk around your room in lingerie..."
"Areum, please, I didn't ask her to come." He says, still holding on to me. "Namjoon sent her as some type of congratulation, that's all."
I raise my eyebrow.
"Some type of congratulation? Do you think I'm five years old?"
He shakes his head.
"No, but right now you're acting like a child."
Then he lets go of my hand and looks at me. He looks at me with those intense eyes, filled of impotence and sadness. I laugh, even though deep inside I'm dying of sadness.
"I'm acting like a child? You're with her and I'm the bad guy?"
"No, I didn't say that..." He mumbles, raking his fingers through his hair in a frustrated gesture.
"Then what did you want to say, Jungkook?" I exclaim desperately. "The only thing you're doing right now is confusing me."
"I didn't want to confuse you." He says a bit embarrassed.
"Well you did. With your damn games and all those times you crossed my path, for what?" I look at him. "What were you looking to accomplish with this?"
"I..." He sighs. "I don't know."
"What were you looking to accomplish?!"
"I don't know!" He yells furiously. "I don't know, Areum, I have no idea!"
He tries to get closer to me again, but I back away.
"Get away from me." I say in a serious tone. "Please."
I don't understand. I don't understand any of this. My heart just can't process the thousands of things that are happening, much less the thousands of feelings that are going through my body.
"Areum, please don't leave." He begs me, still getting closer.
"Why should I stay?"
"Because I want you to stay."
"That's not enough, Jungkook." I respond. "If you don't give me a good reason, then I'll leave."
He looks at me for a few seconds, and I see how he tenses.
"I'm an idiot."
"I don't have a doubt about that."
"I knew I shouldn't have done this, but I still wanted to get close to you." He confesses. "It was an error, because I'm not what you want or what you need."
"What are you talking about?"
"And I can't make the same mistake twice." He says with a tone filled with sadness.
"What mistake?"
"The mistake of getting involved with a child." He answers, tensing up. "Because that's what you are, a whimsical child."
My ears can't believe what they're hearing. I look at him with disbelief, waiting for him to apologize, but he doesn't. His words don't sound offensive, even though they are, it's more like if it hurt him to say them. Like if he said it with the only intention for me to run away from him.
"I'm sorry, Areum, but I think that..." He clears his throat. "There's so many guys your age that will want to be with you, guys like Taehyung..."
"Go to hell." I tell him. "Go to hell, Jungkook."
He seems to regret his words, but I don't stay to figure it out. I turn around and run away. My instinct tells me to do it, the same instinct that took me to Jungkook, is now telling to run away from him.
I'm so dismayed because if what just happened that it takes me energy to breathe. I don't understand how I let myself get manipulated by him this easily, when it was obvious that I didn't mean anything to him.
When I reach the bottom of the stairs I find Hyerin, who looks at me worried. My face must look puffy from all the crying.
"Are you okay?" She asks hugging me.
I shake my head.
"I want to go home."
"Did you and Jungkook fight?" She asks confused.
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Hyerin!" Namjoon yells from the other side of the crowd.
"I still have to work, but stay here." She tells me, staring to walk away.
I look around me. Everyone is unaware of my pain, and I also don't see Jungkook anywhere. I guess he didn't care seeing me cry, like how he didn't care about what happened that other day at the party. Yes, we may have slept together, but to me it meant so much more.
"Areum!" Hyerin says walking towards me with Yoongi next to her. "Yoongi will take you."
I shake my head.
"I prefer calling a taxi."
"Don't be so hard-headed, he offered."
"You guys are working." I answer without looking at Yoongi.
"Hyerin will cover for me, so it doesn't matter." Yoongi talks for the first time. "I'll take you."
I want to say something, but Hyerin takes my arm and drags me towards the exit. Yoongi is next to me, and when we leave the place, the silence of the streets makes itself present.
He walks to a car and opens the door for me. I go in without saying anything. I guess that if he's Hyerin's friend, there's nothing to fear. Of course Jungkook is his friend as well, and here I am; crying like an idiot in a stranger's car.
"Do you want a tissue?" He asks with seriousness.
His hand extends towards me with a tissue and I take it.
"Thank you."
He shrugs his shoulders.
"It's the least I can do."
I smile, even though it's a bit forced.
"He's an idiot." He suddenly says after a few seconds of silence.
"What?"
"An idiot, that's what he is." He repeats himself. "Jungkook isn't trustable."
"Why do you say that?"
"Trust me, it's better if you don't get close to him." He explains. "It's better if you fought."
I laugh.
"Are you saying that you're happy seeing me like this? Upset?"
"Of course not." He rolls his eyes. "What I'm saying is that if you didn't break up with him sooner, you could've fallen into an unhealthy game."
"Does he do this with every girl he's with?"
"No, but..." He clears his throat. "I've seen this before, Areum, just... trust me."
"I can't make the same mistake twice."
Jungkook's phrase reproduces in my head over and over, like a scratched cd. The fact that he asked me to stay, to then insult me was strange. However, with what Yoongi said, things were getting more confusing.
"You can't tell me?"
"Believe me, the less you know, the better." He assures me. "Tell me your address."
He turns on the car and I tell him where my house is. I'll tell my father that I went back because Hyerin wasn't feeling well, and that's it.
Yoongi parks in front of my house, and I look at him.
"Are you better?" He asks, turing towards me.
I nod.
"Thank you."
He shrugs his shoulders.
"It's the least I could do."
I get closer to him with the intention of giving him a small hug, as a small thanks for bringing me, and Yoongi smiles. He has a very plain and pretty smile. Then because of a sudden impulse, I kiss him. I practically launch myself over the seat and crash my lips against his.
At first Yoongi tenses, but then he kisses me back. His lips are different than Jungkook's, he even kisses at mother rhythm. His hand goes to the back of my neck and he pulls me in more.
I suddenly stop and separate myself from him, and he looks at me in the eyes. He looks surprised, I can tell, but he looks at my lips again.
God, what am I doing? Were Taehyung and Jungkook not enough that I had to add Yoongi? Someone who I don't even know.
"You didn't have to thank me like that." He jokes.
"I'm sorry." I say embarrassed. "I don't know why I did that.
I look at him awkwardly and then I quickly step out of the car.
"Goodnight." I mumble.
He smiles.
"Sleep well, Areum."
I close the door of the car and walk to the door. When I hear Yoongi drive away, I feel how my chest clenches.
What am I doing?
