I tap my pencil against my notebook and I look at my notes. I don't like what I wrote, but I can't concentrate. The geography teacher has written a few questions on the board that we can answer using our notes, and even though I've been taking notes since the first day, I just can't concentrate today.

All I can hear is Hyerin's whispers, which to my surprise, she doesn't stop talking to Amy. The anger in my interior grows second by second, but I'm not able to distinguish what they're talking about. I suppose that they're talking about something important, since they haven't stopped talking for a second.

I'm upset that she's behaving like this, like a little girl. We haven't talked since the party, she has completely ignored me just because I didn't want to go back with her, and because, for the first time in my life, I had gotten drunk. And it bothered me. It bothered me because I was supposed to apologize for something that she always did.

However, she would've never let me leave by myself no matter how drunk I was. I let her leave without company, late at night, and I didn't even think twice. I was very drunk that I didn't even get the chance to worry about her.

"Hyerin, Amy, do you have anything to share with the class?" The teacher asks, clearly upset. "Maybe you could say something that will interest all of us."

I turn my head and look at Hyerin. She's leaning on the chair, playing with her hair. The instant that she sees the teacher, she rolls her eyes. Amy simply looks at the woman with a challenging stare, like always. Her celestial eyes are scary, and at the same time they're very pretty. In fact, everyone thinks Amy is the most beautiful girl in the whole school. With her long brown hair and light brown colored eyes. Everyone was jealous of her... including myself.

"I'm sorry, Hyerin was just trying to explain something that I wasn't understanding." She explains with naturality.

Her lie is so good, that I feel like if I would've believed it myself.

The teacher looks at her and lifts an eyebrow.

"Well then you can get closer to my desk and I'll answer your questions."

"Believe me, if you were explaining things clearly, I wouldn't have to ask my classmates." Amy smiles at her and puts on an angel face.

The geography teacher gets shocked by the response of her student, but once the bell rings, everyone gets up from their seats and leave the woman with her words in her mouth. We all pass by her desk, leaving our papers over her table.

When I leave the classroom, I see Hyerin walking alone in the hall. I run towards her as I try to follow her rhythm. We have to talk, because I'm going crazy.

"What do you want?" She asks without looking at me.

"I want to apologize." I say with sincerity.

She rolls her eyes, but she doesn't stop.

"Well your opportunity already passed."

"Hyerin, you're my best friend, please." We both stop in the middle of the hall, and we look at each other firmly. "I was drunk, you can't blame me."

"You didn't say that because you were drunk, but because you really believed it." She says in a bold tone. "You're supposed to be my best friend, why didn't you tell me before?"

"Hyerin, I'm not like that, you know that." I sigh. "I was having so much fun with seokjun that-"

"Seokjin." She corrects me.

"Whatever." I say, shaking my head. "I wanted to feel normal, you know? I wanted to get drunk and be with a handsome guy and-"

"Areum, that's not you." Hyerin interrupts me. "You're the one that's supposed to stay sober and... that's what makes you who you are."

I scoff.

"I know, and I know that I can't change that, buy please, don't be mad at me."

She smiles at me.

"I can't be mad at you."

I return the smile and we hug each other. I really missed Hyerin; her sarcastic comments and our never-ending talks. She's always been my best friend, in the good and the bad, in sickness and in health and in drunk or sober... always. Even though sometimes we have childish behavior, I love her.

"What if you stay over at my place tonight?" He asks with a smile. "We could have a movie marathon!"

I get enthusiastic instantly.

"God, I missed you."

I hug her tightly and she laughs.

"I suppose that that's a yes." She says as we start to walk out of the school entrance. "You have no idea of how petty Amy is."

I laugh.

"Well, I don't talk to her like you do."

"Jealous?" She asks with humor. "Because if you are, you don't have to worry about anything, you're the only girl in my life."

She winks at me and we both laugh. Her house is far, but we decide to walk. During the journey, we catch up on what's been happening.

"So did you sleep with him?" I ask, raising my eyebrows.

"Well... something like that." She smiles. "We did it in the bathroom, to be more specific."

"Oh for the love of-"

"Hey, shut up." She hits my shoulder. "Jimin is good at that... although I think Jungkook is better, right?"

We cross that street and I bite my lip. I don't know if I should tell her what happened. Hyerin observes me intently while we walk, and I try to chose the correct words to tell her.

"Well... we didn't do it, if that's what you're referring to." I say, smiling.

"Oh my god, you left with him from a party. Do you really think I will believe that nothing happened?" She asks, narrowing her eyes at me.

"It's because... stuff did happen, we just didn't do anything too extreme." I clear myself up and she raises her eyebrows.

"And you say that I'm the perverted one." Her laugh is contagious and smile nervously. "How did Taehyung handle it?"

The question takes me by surprise.

"Handle what?"

She raises an eyebrow, like if it wasn't obvious.

"Well your break up, obviously."

My soul falls to my feet and she looks me firmly. I think my gesture says it all and she opens her eyes widely.

"You still haven't broken up?" By her tone, I can tell that she can't believe it.

"It's not that I'm proud of it, but..." I look at the floor while I walk. "I couldn't find the right moment to tell him, that's all."

Hyerin doesn't say anything, and I'm happy about that. I know that she feels somewhat bad for Taehyung, and yes, I also feel bad for him.

Once we reach her house, Hyerin's mother receives us with a big hug. She looks happy to see me, and prepares a few treats for us in the kitchen. I send a message to my father letting him know that I'll sleep over at Hyerin's house, and he accepts.

"How was school?" Hyerin's mother asks, making me lift my gaze from my phone.

"Boring, like always." Hyerin opens her eyes with enthusiasm. "Did you know that elephants can't jump?"

Her mother looks at me and we start to laugh. Hyerin looks at us upset as she puts a cookie in her mouth.

"I'm sure you didn't know that."

"Well, I'm glad they're teaching you so many useful things in school, honey." She responds, still laughing.

I look at Hyerin's mother and smile. If I had a mom, I would like for her to be like her. She's nice, comprehensive and she would do anything to see her daughter happy. Sometimes I wonder why Hyerin's father abandoned them, but they never talk about it. Hyerin's mother is just a simple single mom, and Hyerin always avoids the topic when it comes to light.

"Oh, mom, would you mind if we go to a party tonight?" Hyerin asks and I look at her confused. "Amy is hosting it, a girl from school."

She nods.

"Of course... you're teenagers, you should have fun and have a good time!"

"Areum already talked to her dad, he's going to be bringing us back."

Hyerin's mother looks at me and I nod, trying to look convincing.

I look at Hyerin and she tells me with her expression that she'll explain later.

Now I just need to pray...and ask for a few explanations.
