The lights of the place dazzle my eyes completely. I feel blinded by the lights, suffocated by the amount of people and drowned by the smell of tobacco. The place is about to explode, and we could barely move when we walk in.

Hyerin is in front of me, pushing people to the side while she makes a path for us. I can't help but to look around and ask myself how I came to accept to come here just because of a simple dart game. With each step I take, it's a scoff and a curse. The place is horrible, the music is horrible, and I can't even find Jungkook. I don't understand how Hyerin comes here all the time, even on occasions when she's by herself.

"I'm going to look for something to drink!" She screams over the music.

I want to tell her to not leave me alone, but I'm not able to; Hyerin has turned around and started to make way towards a table where there are alcoholic beverages, leaving me standing there. I look around and start to walk though the large crowd of people until I reach the wall. When I do, I lean against it and sigh heavily.

At least the people are on the dancefloor, and not here. But my happiness lasts only five seconds, because a couple starts devouring each other next to me, pushing me and moving me in the process. I scoff with frustration and leave the wall, walking somewhere else.

It takes me a few steps to get to the kitchen. There's hundreds of college students here, and also some college girls who want to pass as being older. Some smoke, and others are so drunk that they've passed out on the floor. I've never felt so out of place, and I ask myself again how Hyerin convinced me to come here.

"You promised him." She had scolded me this morning. "Just because you didn't break up with Taehyung doesn't mean that you can't go."

And she was right; Taehyung and I weren't those types of couples that didn't let each other go out when they wanted to. Jealousy isn't a great characteristic in our relationship; I thought that we trusted each other sufficiently enough, so that we wouldn't doubt on each other.

And here I was. At a strange party, filled with people who are drug addicts.

"I'm going to study at Hyerin's house." I told my father. "I love you."

Lying has become a habit; a very bad one. I did it all the time, with everyone. I lied to my father, to Taehyung, to Hyerin... and myself.

I look at the end of the room and spot a door that leads to the backyard and I cross the kitchen rapidly to reach it. I open it and when I step out, the fresh air hits me. It's too cold outside, and I get goosebumps. The blue dress I bought is extremely short, and that doesn't help at all.

There's people around me, more than I can count, and they all seem to be divided into groups. They all look at me strangely and I wrap my arms around my body. I don't like being here, so my feet start to move automatically by turning me around, walking back to the door, but I bump into a hard chest.

"Areum?" Jimin's voice makes me lift my gaze.

His eyes stare at me surprised, and instantly he starts to look for Hyerin around me.

"Jimin... I thought you would be inside." I say and he lifts an eyebrow confused, making I clear my throat. "...with Hyerin."

"She, well... we haven't talked." He scratches the back of his neck. "I don't think she's interested in me."

I open my mouth to answer, but the door behind Jimin opens again and out comes a bad humored Jungkook. His eyes pose on me, and even though his frown decreases, it doesn't make it better. His gaze is still distant and cold, even when he comes closer and I smile at him.

"Hyerin is inside."

Jimin interprets that as a sign to leave, and he gives me a gesture as a goodbye before he goes inside again. My eyes travel from his eyes to the floor, because I don't know what to say.

"I didn't think you would come." He suddenly says, and then drinks from his beer.

I observe his lips while he drinks, and then I remove my gaze, moving it to the floor again.

"Yeah, well.. I can't believe it either." I shrug my shoulders. "But I'm here."

There's another second of silence between us, and this time, Jungkook looks at me up and down, analyzing my attire.

"Is it new?" He asks with an unworried tone.

I try not to blush.

"It's Hyerin's."

For a second I think that he's not going to believe my lie, but he just nods; or he probably just let it go, or maybe I finally learned how to lie. Another gust of wind travels through the backyard, and I get goosebumps again. I should've brought a jacket...

"Are you cold? Do you want to go inside?"

I nod.

"Yes... I don't think bringing this dress was the best idea."

He shrugs his shoulders.

"Well I like it."

I hear Hyerin scream with happiness in my head, and for a second I have to contain the desire I have to laugh.

The odor of tobacco fills my nostrils again, and I cough in response. Jungkook doesn't even seem phased when he walks into the kitchen and pushes a few people around and steps over a guy passed out of the floor. I try to ignore the immense desire I have to call the emergency number.

"Do you want a beer?" Jungkook asks while he opens the cooler. "Or do you prefer a cup of water?"

I sigh.

"Do I really look like that type of person?"

He smiles.

"I didn't say that."

"Hey." I look the other way, feeling a bit offended. "Give me a beer."

He takes two cans of beer and closes the cooler, giving it to me while we both open them in unison.

"I really didn't want to offend you." He mumbles and drinks from his beer.

But he did. I look at him in the eyes and he looks away. I don't even know why were having this boring conversation about how an idiot like me has never had a beer in her life.

"You didn't offend me." I take a sip. "It's okay."

I can tell that Jungkook doesn't believe me, but instead of saying anything else, he just takes another sip of his beer. I'm going to need a lot of drinks for confidence to process the whole night with someone who isn't even interested in me.

"So... do you like parties?" I ask, taking out some of the tension that has started to build between us.

He shakes his head.

"Not at all.".

"Then why did you tell me to come?" I say confused.

"I don't know." He admits. "It was a bet, that's it."

His lack of feelings in his words shows me that coming here was a mistake. I don't even know Jungkook that well, I could've simply not came, that he wasn't anyone to tell me what to do.

"And you?" He asks me and I stare at him. "Do you like parties?"

"Nope." I say shrugging my shoulders.

"Then why did you come?"

"Because it was a bet." I quote his words.

"That's it? Or were you expecting to see someone in particular?" He asks, getting closer to me.

I take a long drink and avoid eye contact.

"Nope, nothing special." I respond, already feeling dizzy because of the alcohol.

"Are you sure about that?" His voice is like a purr that gets closer to me each time.

Well, that idea of not doing anything stupid has completely disappeared tonight. Jungkook is really close to me, and suddenly he seems really interested in my lips, since he doesn't remove his gaze from them.

"I've only come for a bet, like you." I say a bit nervous.

"A bet, that if I remember correctly, you lost because you were nervous." My back crashes against the table. "Tell me, are you nervous now?"

"I wasn't nervous then, and I'm not nervous now." I respond, even thought I'm practically trembling.

He nods.

"So you're just bad at playing darts?"

"I'm not bad, just admit that I learned fast." I tell him, and I suddenly feel dizzy.

I try to look unworried, but I know that he notices how frequently I'm drinking. And that doesn't bother me, but maybe consuming alcohol right now isn't the best idea.

"It's because you had a good teacher." He says smiling.

"So... what are you going to teach me next?"

Jungkook raises an eyebrow and laughs.

"What do you want me to teach you?"

Millions of imagines run through my mind and I blush because of it. Jungkook notices, because he laughs again and takes another step towards me.

"Pool? Playing cards? Maybe poker?" One of his hands moves to my leg. "Or are you thinking about something else?"

Well, maybe the alcohol wasn't such a bad idea after all. I drink more and shake my head.

"Poker sounds good." I say with a lack of voice.

"Do you want another one?" Jungkook says, looking surprised.

I stare at my beer in my hand. I didn't even notice how I drank all of it. I nod with confidence and Jungkook gives me another one. If I need a few beers to gain a bit if confidence, then I'll drink whatever's necessary...
