Chapter 3
POV - Aria
It's been 4 days and I've training nonstop to get better prepared. I usually train to release anger but the past couple of days it's to training to go against my opponent tonight. Apparently he's a very good one, but no ones better than me. Marc never really tells me who I go against the day of the fight until I see them in the match with my own eyes. He thinks I'm going to "do background checks and find their weaknesses before the fight," does he thinks I'm that bad that I can't find their weakness in the ring when it's time. He underestimates me to much.
"Do you know where the keys to your Audi are?" I heard Alejandro yell from down the hallway.
"THEY'RE IN THE TOP DRAWER NEXT TO THE DOOR," I yelled back from my bathroom.
I drove my Audi again tonight for the fight, this time with Kristine in the front and Alejandro in the back. When we arrived it was pretty crowded, I mean don't get me wrong it's always crowded here but tonight seemed to be more packed than usual. I guess people like watching the best fighter beat a noobie's ass.
"Hey I'm going to find Marc if you guys want to come." I told Kristine and Alejandro before leaving.
"HEY TRY TO FIND SOME INFORMATION ABOUT MY OPPONENT WHILE YOUR AT IT. THANKS!" I yelled back.
They nodded their heads and went to the bar for some drinks. I headed to Marc's office to see if he was there and sure enough he was. I walked right in without knocking and took a seat on one of the couches he has in his office.
"Well hello to you too Aria," he said and rolled his eyes.
"Whatcha working on?" I saw he was deeply focused on this piece of paper.
"Nothing," he replied still staring deeply into the paper.
"Oh come on I know it's something important because you never answer with one word answers unless it's important," I tried to walk behind his desk to take a peek.
"It's nothing, stop worrying and go back and prepare for your fight." he told me sternly while gesturing his hand, shooing me out.
I just got annoyed and bored of nagging him to tell me so I left, but that didn't mean that I'm giving up. I'm going to find what's on that paper, if it wasn't important he would've told me. I decided to go find Kristine and Alejandro to talk to them about my opponent. It took a while but I eventually found them at the bar.
"Hey guys got anything about this mysterious opponent?" I asked looking around to see if anyone looked like they could be my potential opponent.
"Yeah, he goes by Ace, came form Manhattan, New York, real name Damien Black, 25, two best friends, Jonathan Min goes by Grim in the underground world, 23, and Kyle Choi, goes by The Mime, 24. Everything adds up to them being the Blood Triad, second best mafia in the world after the Basilisks, he's the leader and his best friends are his right-hand men." Kristine said proudly as she said that all in one breath without stuttering.
"Mmmhh... okay so that explains the crowd, thanks. I'm going to go change and get ready now." I said walking to the locker room.
I always wear my mask even though I go under a fake name, you can never be too careful. I got to the locker room, changed into my clothes, and put on my mask. I wore a black sport bra and some shorts with my lucky sneakers. I only wear these pairs when I'm fighting because every time I wear them, I tend to win. There was still a bit of time left so I thought I'd do some stretches beforehand. When I finished it was about time for the match so I walked out to the ring and everyone made way for me. I made a grand entrance towards into the ring, giving off my bitch face expression the whole time while everyone clapped and cheered for me. Colored neon lights were flashing around the arena as the smoke machine was on, making my walkway towards the ring cooler than others.
I got to the ring, the cheering crowd stopped and all I heard were quiet whispers. I was confused and turned around to see why everyone went quiet until I understood. I locked eyes with him as he smirked and winked. Has a big ego, noted. I rolled my eyes and turned around waiting for him to get into the ring. When he got here he stared at me, checking me out, I ignored it but then our eyes met again, and this time I could see them better, brown eyes. I was staring at him as the referee began the fight.
"3, 2, 1, GO!" the referee yelled and blew the whistle as it broke my train of thoughts.
Pov - Damien
Today was the day, the day I get to go fight the best fighter here in Boston with a winning streak of 28. I bet I can destroy that in just a single second.
"You ready to go?" Jonathan knocked on my door before coming in.
"Yeah give me a second I need to find my phone first," I said as I was looking around my room for my phone.
"You know the person you're going on tonight?" Jonathan asked.
"Yeah why?" "Apparently I heard they're really good and no ones ever beaten them before." Jonathan said, sitting down on the edge of my bed.
"Until now," I added and scoffed. Then I finally found my phone in the bathroom, now I'm all set to go. Jonathan chuckled and we went downstairs to meet up with Kyle, who's on his phone waiting for us.
"Ready to go?" he asked us grabbing his keys.
"Yes and we're taking my car," I said as Kyle pouted like a child. I heard him mumble something under his breath and Jonathan laughed but I just kept walking.
When we got there the place was crowded, I mean is it always this crowded? The fight clubs back at home are never this full, I bet it's because they know I'm fighting the best fighter here. I smirked at my thought and kept walking keeping my don't bother me face. Everyone turned their heads to me and stared in an aw. Mainly the girls and some guys but most just glared at me. I was walking when I was stopped by some sluts. All they wanted were sex and relationships, two things I don't have time for. Everyone portrays me as this big fuck boy, man whore type of guy but they're far beyond from being right. In fact I'm actually quite the opposite of that. They think that because of the women I supposedly have 'one night stands' with and all the attention seeking sluts claiming they slept with me. I only look like that because of my missions, I would play a hot, sexy, sex-seeking guy, to get information out of woman who are in other gangs. Some know who I am, others don't, ones that do make it easier for me. I just take them to a hotel and sex talk my way into getting information then kill them, and for the ones that do I kidnap and torture them for the information. Checking my watch I noticed that it was almost time for the fight, so I spilt up with Jonathan and Kyle.
"Get some information on this so called best fighter." I told them before heading off to the locker room. I put my duffel bag on the bench and changed into my fighting shorts. Marc, the owner, came and told me that after my opponent entered the ring it was my turn, so I thought I could do some stretches to prepare. I was doing my stretches when I was abruptly interrupted by Jonathan and Kyle barging into the locker room.
"Okay I got the information but little time to tell it." Kyla said out of breath. I stared at him waiting for him to continue but he just kept breathing really hard which annoyed me. I glared at him to continue, which caused Jonathan to nudge him to talk.
"Oh right, yes, okay so, Claire Andino, goes by Raven as her fighter name, Greek and American, lived in Boston Massachusetts most her life, 20, fight for a living, two close friends, Angelina Reyes, 20, best student at Harvard, Vietnamese and Filipino, other friend is Mateo Gonzalez, 23, Hispanic, orphan, no information on how they all met." Kyle said all in one breath. Just as he finished we heard loud noises and people cheering.
"I'm assuming that's her, Raven?" I asked raising my eyebrow at Kyle.
"Yes the one and only," he replied. I knew I was next so I walked out of the locker room to the entrance of the ring. Everyone went quiet and started whispering while all heads turned to me except one, Claire's. I turned around and gave Jonathan a nod, signaling him to start my grand entrance. Soon after all I heard were loud music and blinding flashing lights, once all that was over the lights dimmed and the fog machine turned on. A bright white spot light shining on of me as I walked with my head high and a smirk plastered on my face as that seemed to get Claire's attention. She turned towards me and our eyes met. Instead of her eyes filling with lust like the other women in the club, her eyes were filled with pure burning determination and courage. I gave a sly wink at her direction, and she just rolled her eyes and turned back around. I walked up to the ring, getting in, the referee introduced us.
I locked my eyes with hers, staring deeply into them. They were the most beautiful hazel eyes I've ever seen. "Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, tonight's the night you've all been waiting for! The fight against The Raven and Ace!" the referee yelled as he held up his whistle and blew. "3, 2, 1, GO!"
