Subtle clouds of puffed-out air emitted past your lips once the two of you eventually pulled away from the kiss, foreheads gently pressing against one another while quietly giggling to yourselves— happily simmering in the moment and enjoying the warmth of each other's comforting embrace, still trying to make sure all of this was real and not some sort of dream that you'd be waking up from soon.

After a little while, you were the first to break the comfortable silence as you pulled away to properly look up into his eyes, uttering out a sheepish ''So am I allowed to count today as a date?'' to which the older let out a warm chuckle whilst reaching up to fix some strands of hair for you before nodding and letting out a soft ''Of course, it's a date''.

However, he seemed to sort of get lost in thought for a moment as his brows furrowed lightly, now worriedly beginning to softly mumble on about how maybe today might've been too simplistic for it to be called a first date, how he should've made it more special for you, and how he definitely messed up by not clarifying it was a date much earlier on.

It wasn't until you gently reached up and cupped his cheeks to make him look back down at you, that he seemed to somewhat relax before flashing you an apologetic smile as his anxious rambling came to a halt.

Jungkook: Hey there now, you're getting all caught up in your head without me hyung— tonight was literally perfect and I don't want you doubting that for a second.

Taehyung: Are you sure though, I just hope tonight didn't come across as too low effort...

You immediately shook your head reassuringly before flashing him a warm smile in response; admiring how handsome he looked in this light.

Jungkook: It doesn't matter where we are or what we're doing, as long as I have you by my side that's literally all I need to be happy.

His eyes softened as a genuine ''That makes the two of us then...'' left his lips, followed by a tender kiss which he leaned down to place on your forehead. Though you couldn't help but tilt your head curiously when the older almost shyly avoided eye contact while proceeding to grumble out a barely audible ''I still just can't help but regret that I didn't have the guts to ask you if you were okay with calling it a date back when we went to the festival'' before he gently reached down to caress your cheek once again— instantly making your eyes widen slightly in a surprise, impossibly feeling more butterflies fill your chest and stomach cavity as a giddy smile formed onto your lips knowing he too had wanted that day to be considered a date.

Jungkook: Oh Taehyung-ah... Who says we belatedly can't agree it was a date? I mean come on— both you and I considered that day a date, so technically that makes this our second one.

An amused chuckle left his lips as he easily sneaked his arm around your waist to pull you in closer to himself again, clearly feeling a mixture of amusement and relief from your somewhat playful yet still serious suggestion, and so he flashed you a smug smile before speaking in a teasing manner.

Taehyung: You make a good point, besides, I'm usually not one to kiss on a first date, so surely that just makes it all the more logical...

You couldn't help but giggle and roll your eyes at his playful remark, uttering an equally as playful ''Oh shut up you dork...'' before pulling him down into another quick kiss which he happily returned— smiling against your lips as the two of you eventually pulled away from each other a second time, already questioning how either of you managed to wait this long to close the distance between you two.

Taehyung: Do you have any idea just how incredible you are Jungkook-ah?

The sudden sweet-toned compliment caused your nose to scrunch cutely as you hummed in disapproval, admiring just how ethereal Taehyung looked in this warm toned light and with the specs of snow surrounding him and falling down in slow motion as if it were a movie. His warm hand gently caressed your cheek in such a soothing manner, and you couldn't help but lean into the comforting touch whilst simultaneously letting out a content sigh that formed another faint cloud in the cold evening air.

Taehyung: No but really, I truly adore you Gguk. Everything that I've come to learn about you– how much you've overcome, and how you've managed to remain so sincere and warmhearted despite it all, it's incredible. You're one of the strongest people I know, and at times you're honestly too strong for your own good, so I wish you'd allow yourself to lean on others more instead of bearing things you shouldn't have to all alone.

Tears were beginning to well up and sting your eyes as you listened to his heartfelt words, feeling this overwhelming sense of gratitude coursing through you as he so effortlessly managed to make you feel so seen and appreciated in a way you didn't expect someone ever would.

Taehyung: In spite of how confused we both are about all that we went through together, I can't help but feel lucky that our strings of fate got tangled up in this way and that they then slowly but surely got knitted together in such an imperfectly perfect way.

A soft sniffle shortly followed by a breathy giggle left your lips as you nodded in agreement, loving the way he used such a beautiful legend to describe your journey whilst feeling him gently wiping away your tears.

Jungkook: Even though I stupidly tried to ignore, dismiss, and shoo your poltergeist self away at first, I too am so grateful that you came into my life hyung. So much so that I wouldn't know what to do without you. I've already experienced the bitter taste of your absence once, and that's a pain I wouldn't want to experience ever again.

By now subtle hints of tears were also beginning to gloss over his eyes as he reached for something in his coats pocket, voice coming off as a mere whisper as he uttered a ''I actually wanted to give this to you earlier, but I think now's even better''. Another breathy giggle left your lips as you sniffled and rubbed your teary eyes before nudging him softly, jokingly uttering a playful ''It's not a ring, is it?'' to which he let out an amused chuckle before shaking his head in denial.

Taehyung: You'll have to wait a bit longer for that still, however, until then...

When he pulled his hand out of his coats pocket, a beautiful silver chain sporting a very small charm identical to his own followed, making your breath hitch as your eyes kept moving between him and the chain necklace dangling in his hand.

Taehyung: I was hoping that these chains could serve as a promise that this ghostie, no matter how annoying you may occasionally find me, will keep on staying by your side through thick and thin. That just like these chains, our links strength truly is unmatched, and I hope I can come to be someone you feel just as at home, safe and secure with as I do with you.

It was impossible to contain your happy tears while he oh so gently helped you wear the chain, tender smiles evident on both his and your own lips once he eventually pulled away and admired the way the chain now prettily hung around your neck as if it always was meant to be there.

Taehyung: Jungkook-ah, would you do me the honor of being my boyfriend?

The two of you were still tearing up from pure joy as you looked into each other's eyes, and you couldn't help but nod before excitedly jumping into his embrace and squealing out an immediate ''Yes!''— instantly allowing yourself to be pulled into another love-filled kiss which you happily returned, still unable to fathom that all of this was real and that you now officially got to call him your boyfriend.
