Unlike the usual exhausted drag of your feet, or the melancholy expression which oftentimes would paint your expression when coming home from a long and hectic evening shift such as this one, tonight thankfully proved to be a tad bit different; instead there now was a subtle skip in your steps while an optimistic smile cheerfully lingered on your lips. Although there was no denying your feet and shoulders still felt just as sore, and that the slight headache due to the lack of caffeine intake today was just as prominent as ever— the conversation with Hoseok during closing hours truly had helped to lift your spirits a great deal in far more ways than one.

Not only were you sneakily able to get some advice on how to make some progress in helping Taehyung regain his past lives memories, but to top it all off, you unexpectedly also ended up getting offered a manager & co-owner position for Hoseoks new business— all of which were things you simply couldn't wait to tell ghostie about once you got back home.

And so upon finally reaching the apartment complex after about a 15-minute walk home through the unexpected snow storm which had washed upon the city tonight, you swiftly scurried inside and took the elevator up before heading and unlocking your apartment door; instantly being greeted by the cozy mood lights around the place that yet again had been turned on just for you, shortly followed by a certain entity whom soon cheerfully peeked his head around the corner, tenderly uttering out a ''Welcome home Gguk'' before flashing you his usual box-like grin as he leaned against the wall.

The endearing sight made you somewhat freeze into place momentarily; needing a second to truly process and admire how the apartment no longer felt as dreadfully cold, dark nor empty upon your return as it used to— instead, it now felt like returning to the comfort of a warm embrace, making your heart swell with gratitude towards the entity responsible for it. After a little while of accidentally zoning out, the entity bewilderedly waved his hand slowly which finally snapped you out of your moment of appreciation, and so you quickly finished shrugging your coat off before neatly hanging it up and changing into the house slippers.

Taehyung: So how was work tonight? Any rich bastards I can pull a lil poltergeist revenge on for you?

A breathy giggle made its way past your lips as you calmly shook your head at his silly suggestion before walking past the male, heading over to go plop down on the living room's couch and instantly letting out a weary sigh of relief when your back finally hit its soft cushions— getting comfortable as it provided that much-needed sense of relief on your back and feet after such a long day of standing upright; who would've thought practicing good posture whilst performing all the duties of a waiter could be so painful?

Jungkook: It'd be a rarity if there weren't any rude customers, but there's no need ghostie. Anyway, it's mostly just been extremely hectic as per usual— though I do have some good news!

Intrigued by your words, the entity sat down on a part of the couch you weren't actively occupying before attentively nodding as a sign for you to go on, and so you excitedly sat more upright whilst beginning by mentioning the new tactic Hoseok had suggested earlier.

Jungkook: So first of all, I talked with Hobi-hyung while we were closing the restaurant for tonight, and through the help of creating a hypothetical scenario somewhat similar to your own, he helped me find sort of a new approach on how I can help you regain your memories!

Unsurprisingly, this earned a skeptical look from the taller whom merely nodded along when you proceeded to explain the details of said plan— a breathy snicker soon escaping past his lips shortly followed by a deeply uttered out ''I doubt it'll be any different from when I've tried it Gguk''; causing you to stubbornly cross your arms, feeling determined to make it work as you refused to give up.

Jungkook: Don't give me that attitude good sir, this could work!

Although reluctant, after hearing you elaborate on why you so firmly believed this time would be different, the entity finally nodded his head; agreeing that there was nothing to lose from at least trying, though still making it clear how much he doubted the outcome would be like the ones from movies.

Nevertheless, getting his approval still earned a bunny-toothed grin from you while you excitedly bounced slightly in your seat— making the entity bite back a fond smile at the endearing sight.

Taehyung: What about the other good news then bun?

Jungkook: Alright so, while we were talking, Hoseok informed me about how he'll be transferring the restaurant's ownership to a different chef that's buying it in about a month's time, and—

This instantly made the entity frown as he proceeded to cut you off mid-sentence, evidently seeming quite worried since he knew how having such a good boss and friend like Hoseok essentially was the only reason keeping you from looking for another job elsewhere

Taehyung: Wait hold on, what— he is? But how is that good news Gguk, I thought you said you only stuck around because he was there so—

You couldn't help but let out a soft giggle before shaking your head slowly at the male, finding his concern rather sweet as you continued what you were going to say right as he had cut you off earlier.

Jungkook: Yes, but as I was gonna say before you interrupted me just now, dummy— I won't be sticking around that place for much longer either.

The entity looked all the more puzzled now as he cocked his head to the side, making you have to stifle another giggle that threatened to emit past your lips.

Taehyung: That's perfectly understandable Gguk, but what are you going to do now then?

Jungkook: Well... Hobi-hyung is working on opening up a café right now, and long story short... You're currently looking at his soon-to-be manager & co-owner!

Immediately upon hearing those words, the entity shot up from his seat in excitement, practically bouncing around the living room whilst uttering out a ''Wait oh my god, really?''— to which you nodded in confirmation whilst bursting into a fit of giggles at the sight. After a little while longer of cheerfully bouncing around the place, the entity then hurried over to kneel down in front of you, his hands gently reaching up and hovering on both sides of your cheeks while a bright boxy smile lingered on his lips.

Taehyung: Jungkook-ah that's fantastic news, I'm so happy for you! I'm sure the two of you will do amazingly, especially since Hoseok has you by his side!

A faint blush subtly crept onto your cheeks as you nodded slowly before looking away; growing timid under the entitys fond gaze and strings of praises whilst biting back a warm smile yourself.

Jungkook: Well I don't know how much of an impact I personally can make, though I'm truly honored and excited to get to help Hobi-hyung with some planning here and there, and that we'll get to continue working together like this!

He then stood back up and clapped his hands before uttering out a cheerful ''Well then, this calls for a celebration!'', to which you skeptically raised an eyebrow before crossing your arms and jokingly rolling your eyes at him.

Jungkook: Nu-uh, I'm not drinking with you again ghostie if that's what you're thinking.

This caused the male to playfully stick his tongue out at you before shaking his head reassuringly, instead now proceeding to turn on the radio which instantly made the lovely tunes of a song fill the room as he turned up the volume slightly before happily beginning to sway to the music like the ray of sunshine that he is— encouragingly gesturing for you to join him as he mouthed a ''Come on, let's dance!'' which caused you to burst into another fit of soft giggles whilst stubbornly shaking your head as a ''No way!''.

Though with a little bit of further persuasion, you eventually caved in and joined the entity on his makeshift dance floor— dancing along to the song's catchy tunes yet mostly just goofing around together with the entity using some silly dance moves.

However, somewhere along the lines, the music ended up changing into one with a more gentle melody, and with said change also came a change in how the two of you danced together; each and every move now gradually becoming more careful and calculated as you wordlessly figured out how to position yourselves.

Hands hesitantly reaching up to barely hover above the taller frame's shoulders while his own hovered right at the curve of your waist— never touching, yet remaining ever so close to one another as you shared timid glances whilst swaying lightly to the music together.

Warm smiles, soft giggles, and tender glances were occasionally exchanged between the two of you throughout the song, finding humor in its lyrics— yet just for a moment, you couldn't help but wish that a time would've existed when the two of you could've been alive at the same time.
