"Duel!"

Scar- 4000 LPs SC: 0

Vs.

Sector Security #1- 4000 LPs SC: 0

"I'll go first!" The first Sector Security said and drew a card.

SC: 0 —> 1

SC: 0 —> 1

He looked at his hand and grinned.

"I summon Gate Blocker (AK:100, DF:2000) in defense mode! That'll prevent you from using Speed Counters and then I place two cards face down and end my turn!" The first Sector exclaimed.

"Speed Counters? Rally didn't mentioned this while explaining how to play the card game," Grian said, holding on to dear life.

"Don't worry! I got a plan. I draw!" Scar drew from his deck and looked at his hand.

SC: 1 —> 2

Ok not too bad. I could win this, he thought.

"I summon Naturia Pumpkin (ATK: 1400. DF: 800) in attack position. When normal summoned while you control a monster, I can special summon a Naturia monster from my hand. So then I choose to special summon Naturia Mosquito (ATK: 200. DF: 300) and after setting this card down, I end my turn" Scar explained.

"Really Scar!" Grian yelled.

"I can't do anything else! I don't have a strong enough monster in my deck to defeat Gate Blocker," Scar said.

"Heh. Fine by me, I draw!" The first Sector Security exclaimed.

SC: 2 —> 3

"I tribute my Gate Blocker to special summon Gate Blocker 2(ATK: 100, DF: 3000) I also summoned another Gate Blocker and I activate my trap card, Speed Edge! During my standby stage, if I have more speed counters than you I can inflict damage to you equal to that difference times 300! I have three speed counters and you have one meaning the difference is two so you lose 600 life points!" He exclaimed.

4000 —> 3400 LPS

"SCAR!"

"Don't worry Grian, I have a plan!" Scar assured him.

Do I? I got effect damage and not battle damage, he didn't attack me. Really thought I outsmarted him, He thought as he glanced at the mosquito.

"I end my turn!" The first Sector Security shouted.

"Ok my turn! I draw!" Scar drew a card and stared at it for a bit.

SC: 3 —> 4

"I summon Naturia Horneedle (ATK: 1800 DF: 100) and then I set this card down. Turn over," he said.

"That's it?" The first Sector Security asked, confused? Is this Satellite scum just giving up like that? He thought.

Grian began to worry. They haven't been playing this game for a long time.

Yes, Scar, Joel and Etho practiced a lot with Rally and the others but that was all fun and games. No one cared if they won or lost.

Here though, Scar has to win or they will both end up in jail and maybe a marker on their face like Rally.

That can't afford to happen! And yet Scar hasn't done a single thing to damage the first Sector Security's life points or had set up his field that would make the Sector Security officer think twice.

"My turn," the first Sector Security drew a card.

SC: 4 —> 5

"I tribute my Gate Blocker to special summon Gate Blocker 2. And then I active my trap card which is another Speed Edge. I have five speed counters this time which means you lose 1200 life points!" He shouted.

3400 —> 2200 LPS

"S-Scar...I...haha...I have a feeling...I have a feeling!" Grian said nervously.

"Grian I appreciate the help but I need to concentrate now," Scar waved him off.

I didn't do anything to help you though, Grian thought but then Scar surprised him.

"I activate Naturia Horneedle's effect. When you special summon a monster, I have to tribute a Naturia monster from my field and then I can destroy that monster so after tributing Naturia Pumpkin, your second Gate Blocker 2 is gone," Scar said and the first Sector Security flinched.

"Damn you! So that's what you were waiting for when you summoned that bee of yours! Well I'm not done yet as I summon Assault Dog (ATK: 1200. DF: 800) and it just has enough attack points to attack your weakest monster," he said and a machine dog
appeared.

"My weakest monster? You mean my mosquito?" Scar asked.

"Wow how smart of you, scum," the first Sector Security mocked before saying, "attack Naturia Mosquito!"

As his monster raced over to attack Scar's monster, Scar spoke up, "see, here's the thing. While there's another Naturia monster on my field, Naturia Mosquito can't be targeted for attacks."

"WHAT?!" The first Sector Security gasped as his Assault Dog skidded to a halt while Naturia Mosquito flapped its wings excitedly.

"Yep so you can't really attack me now," Scar said as they turned a corner.

"Fine! I end my turn," the first Sector Security snapped.

Thank god! Scar thought.

"It's my turn! I draw!" Scar drew a card and he grinned.

SC: 5 —> 6

"I'll turn the tables on you! I activate my trap, Treacherous Trap Hole! When I have no trap cards in my graveyard, I can target two monsters on the field and I can destroy them. Gate Blocker 2 and Assault Dog are my chosen targets so bye bye!" Scar said.

"No way!" The first Sector Security gasped.

"Now I can incite a direct attack. At least I think I can," Scar said.

"Clearly you can!" Grian shouted, still worried.

"I got this G! No need to worry," Scar assured him before saying, "time for a double monster direct attack. Come on, Naturia Horneedle and Mosquito! Direct attack!"

First came the sting from Naturia Horneedle.

4000 —> 2200 LPS

Then Naturia Mosquito buzzed against him

2200 —> 2000 LPS

!

"Oh my gosh!" Grian cried.

"See G! I told you that I had a plan! Plus I decided to activate my other face down trap, Dust Tornado which destroys a spell or trap card that you control. I am not risking losing more life points if that's another Speed Edge," Scar said.

The card face up to show the card Speed Edge.

"I was right. Now it's destroyed!" Scar exclaimed.

"Don't worry! If you lose then I'll be able to step in and duel for you and I'll win as well!" The second Sector Security assured the first one.

Oh no! He's going to know Scar's cards after this duel! He has to win and get out of there as soon as he can! Grian thought.

Vrrrooom!

A shadow flew over them and landed near Scar and Grian.

"Wooohooo!" Joel exclaimed excitedly.

Etho was driving the now functioning Duel Runner with Joel in the back.

"It's the BoatBoys!" Scar pointed.

"Sorry we're late. It took longer than expected to get this runner up and about but we're both here now," Etho assured them.

"If we came here before, we might have had a tag duel but oh well. Hey you! Battle him!" Joel shouted at the second Sector Security.

"It's the second stolen Duel Runner! Should I chase after them?" The second one asked the first one.

"Go right ahead," the first one nodded.

"Ok then!" The second Sector Security said.

"Come and get us!" Joel taunted as Etho stepped on the accelerator.

"Fine by me!" The second Sector Security chase after them.

"I active the Field Spell, Speed World! Now we duel!" He said.

"You ready Etho?" Joel asked.

"Born ready," Etho replied.

"Duel!"

Etho - 4000 LPS

Vs

Sector Security #2 - 4000 LPS

(Meanwhile)

"What?! What do you mean that two Duel Runners in Satellite were stolen?! I don't want to hear any excuses! Ok fine, tell me when you caught them," someone said.

That someone was Testu Ushio.

He was currently driving a young man to the director of Sector Security. Albeit he didn't want to.

This young man was now interested in what Testu had to say.

Stolen Duel Runners? In Satellite? he thought.

That young man was Yusei Fudo.

A/N: hope this isn't too bad, I tried my best with the duels.

Yeah I may disappear a bit from this book from time to time to figure out what kind of cards should I give the Double Lifers.

Even though Double Life is over, my motivation for this book is still going strong (for some unknown reason).

Edit: this duel has been rewritten since this originally sucked and I hated it so I decided to rewrite it. Yeah, Scar gets the Naturia deck. I swear I have gotten better at writing duels 😭
