Backstory

Most humans don't know of supernaturals. Supernaturals hide for their saftey. But supernaturals can see humans and vise versa.

There is a third species that very few know about. The monsters. The reason is because no humans and only about half of supernaturals are able to see monsters. (Creatures such as the odd rabbits in Diyas profile picture).

Diya is able to see all monsters.

Diya has been an orphan as long as she can remember. Her parents dropped her off there in the middle of the night when she was only two days old. That's all she'd been told about before the orphanage. Sometimes Diya wonders of her parents sometimes. Did they leave because they suffered ridicule for having the same curse as her? Or did they leave because she's cursed?

Diya used to speak about the monsters she saw. They terrified her. Some of them still do. When she was ten she realized not all of them are scary and bad though. She began to befriend a few of them. They can't speak but her three favorites (the rabbits in the picture) have been taught a sort of sign language.

Diya can hear their mental voices when she's touching them. Occasionally this power transfers into hearing the thoughts of supernaturals, animals, and humans she's touching.

Telling people what she saw turned out quite badly for her though. The children in the orphanage and in school began to tease her for it. She was an outcast. Her odd appearance didn't help her either.

Diya tries to fit in now but the damage is done. Everyone knows she's 'insane'. Even she believes that sometimes.

She has many dreams though. She says she's going to get a scholarship to a nice college. She's going to get a degree in law and move far away from here so she can start over fresh. Sometimes that's the only thing that keeps her hopeful, her dreams.

Likes:
Diya loves art. She has a book with drawings of every monster she's seen including details she's learned about that kind and a made up species name. She likes to draw and paint things like nature and herself as well. She also really likes music.

Dislikes:
Diya hates that she sees monsters, that she's different. She doesn't like being bullied or that she always alone and yet, she also doesn't like to ignore her monster friends.

Personality:
Diya is a very sweet girl, very kind. She tries to be friendly to all and sees the good in others despite what they see in her. She struggles with many aspects of life as it's hard to live seeing things that other people can't. She's very upset, mostly with herself, that she can't fit in. She believes she is cursed.

Creatures in the picture above are called Kujits by Diya. She named them Luca, Draco, and Maia. Those are her favorite monsters of them all.
Monsters are also drawn to Diya for some unknown reason.

Scenario 1:
You know of Diya. You never really were friends with her even though you're in the same grade as her. You knew she was bullied because she had hallucinations. But was that really fair? She couldn't control that and often you'd seen her truly terrified by these images.

One day Diya just wasn't in school anymore. It went on like that for a while before you got curious abd contacted one of the women who worked at the orphanage, asking where Diya was.

Assuming you were a friend of her they told you that she'd been sent to a mental hospital. They gave you the address as well in case you wanted to visit her.

You decided to go, for reasons you can decide. You arrived at the mental hospital and they allowed you in and showed you to diyas room. She was allowed to leave it, but she hadn't. Diya looked pretty bad. She was sitting on the bed staring blankly at the wall ahead of her. She looked like she hadn't slept at all in the past day or so. After a moment she looked to you.
"What do you want?" She asked, sounding broken.

Scenario 2:
You worked with children who had... Challenges. Recently you'd been called by an orphanage to come talk to a girl who sees things. The woman in charge of the facility told you about how Diya had claimed to see monsters her while life. They'd hoped it would stop and she'd grow out of it but she never did.

You agreed to speak with her and see if you could help. You entered a room that was usually a bedroom but was empty at the time save for the two beds, a desk, and a chair. You took the chair across from where Diya laid on the bed with her arms crossed. "I'm not crazy." She said as soon as you say down. What do you do?

Scenario 3:
(Similar to the first scene but this is after she's been in the mental hospital for a year and a half). Diya had been gone a while and really, most people had forgotten about her. Then one day in the middle of semester her desk was filled again. Diya was back in school but acting different. More confident maybe? No one knew where she'd been but Diya didn't say that she saw monsters anymore. If someone mentioned them she'd get confused then brush it off. You decided to get the truth from her one day. You stayed after class when Diya was still packing up and walked to her desk. She glanced up at you and smiled kindly. "Hmm? Do you need something?"
