"Hans is so gone"
Summary; Hans finally runs away from his crappy family with the help of a surprising ally.
When he does, life gets surprisingly better for him.
Until the isle is built.
Trigger warning; abuse and mentions of attempted murder/treason. Also is sympathetic towards Hans and implies that the Trolls may have messed with his mind.

Insecure in his skin...
For as long as he could remember, Prince Hans Westergaard of the southern isles had felt... insecure?... crappy?... lesser?.. useless?.. Dumb?.. Ugly?... Weak?...All of the above?
He had always felt it.
Even as a young child.
And still felt it, even as an adult.
Like a puppet, a boy on a string...
He had always felt like he had no control over his own life.
Like he was a doll or a puppet on a string, being controlled and thrown around by his family. Being ignored when they eventually got bored of playing with his feelings, manipulating him, and throwing him around. And that feeling had never gone away.
Even as an adult.
Broke away...
He never thought he'd be free of them.
Especially after his little stunt in Auardon had failed.
Even though he didn't really remember any of what had happened or what he had done after entering the mountain that Elsa's ice palace was on. Or why he had done it.
Lars and Lottie had asked him a million times what he was thinking.
Why he did it.
But he didn't have an answer for them or anyone else beyond 'I don't know/remember.'
But he eventually did get free of them.
And it was thanks to someone rather... unexpected...
That someone was Anna.
His first love.
Who he had tried to kill. For whatever reason.
She had come to the southern isles to visit him/oversee his punishment— he wasn't sure which— and had been horrified at what she had seen.
His brothers had been roughing him up yet again, messing with his work.
She had ended up asking around and had found out that he'd been telling the truth about his family's treatment of him. And that he had left out the worst parts.
Learned to fly...
She helped him escape a few days later, rather impulsively.
When he asked why, all she did was look at him solemnly and reply "I can't let anyone— even someone like you— get treated that poorly by anyone. Especially their own family. It's just.. not right.. now go away, before I regret it"
He didn't hesitate to do as she said— quickly hopping on Sitron and trotting away.
Far from the hellhole that once was his home and far from Arendelle, the palace where he had lost himself.
If you want him back, gotta let him shine...
He traveled for a while after that.
Riding from town to town to hide his shame but enjoying his newfound freedom all the same.
He sent Anna things every now and then, as a way to say 'thank you' but steered clear of her and Arendelle otherwise. Not wanting to bother her after all he had done to her and after all she had done for him.
So it looks like the joke's on you...
Hans heard rumors while he did so.
Rumors of Arendelle's queen handing over her crown to her sister who married a mountain man raised by Trolls (he sent them a wedding gift).
Rumors of his disappearance and how his family was reacting to his disappearance.
'Cause, the boy that you thought you knew...
Lars and Lottie and the kids and his other in-laws were distraught as expected.
He felt guilty for causing them that pain but knew that he couldn't return.
Because he knew that he would die if he did.
But surprisingly, he heard that his mother, father, and a couple of his brothers also missed him— which nearly made him laugh when he heard it.
Because it was too little too late for that, in his mind.
He's so gone (he's so gone)...
After all, Hans' brothers had done nothing but torment him his entire life.
Convincing him he was a Troll and adopted.
Acting as if he didn't exist for two full years— not talking to him as they did so.
They made a fool of him countless times in council meetings several times.
They belittled him.
They even scared off any friends he had and tormented his poor horse, Sitron.
All while his parents did nothing.
None of them had cared for his feelings or well being. So why should he care for theirs? Why should he feel guilty about hurting them?
'Cause, the boy that you thought you knew...
He didn't.
He didn't feel guilty about hurting them because they didn't care about him.And he didn't dare return home, because he wasn't a fool.
Hans knew they'd just go right back to treating him like he was something nasty stuck to the bottom of their shoe.
But he did write to them.
Well, to Lars, the in-laws, and the kiddos at least. His other siblings, parents, and other relatives, on the other hand, weren't worth the time and effort.
That's so over now...
He told them that he was sorry and that he was okay. Told them not to worry and that he'd be in touch as long as they told no one else about their correspondence.
He's so gone (he's so gone)...
And he kept traveling.
Eventually making his way to the Kingdom of Corona, where he'd run into two of his long lost brothers.
The twins, Runo and Rudi, who had apparently changed their last name to Stabbington and become thieves.
They had gone pale when they'd seen him, almost as if they'd seen a ghost. Though, he guessed in a way, they had.
After all, he had become almost impossible to find and the old him— the innocent, sweet, and non-violent him— had died almost two years ago in Arendelle.
You won't find him around...
Hans had just stared at them for a few moments. And they at him.
It was like that, until they both sprinted towards him, yanked him off his horse, and... hugged him?
"YOU'RE ALIVE—"
"OH THANK GOD—"
"WE THOUGHT—"
"THAT WE'D NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN—"
"WE'RE SO SORRY—"
"WE WERE SO AWFUL—"
You can look but you won't see...
Hans blinked at them confused "Uh... What?"
The pair rolled their eyes, not letting go of him.
"Haven't changed much, has he Rudi?" The one with side burns said, looking amused.
"Seems not, Runo" the one with the eyepatch said.
Hans was suddenly hit with a sudden wave of annoyance.
How dare they insult him!
"Well, I'm sorry for daring to be confused about the fact you acted like you gave a damn when all you did for 15 years of your life was torment me before you ran off!" He snapped, breaking free of their grip. "And it's you that hasn't changed, seeing as you just insulted me. Again ."
He stormed over to Sitron and hopped on him, quickly giving him the cue to trot on. A cue that Sitron thankfully got as he sped off, leaving Hans' shouting brothers in their wake.
The boy I used to be...
He kept riding until he reached a beautiful but plain looking village full of houses of every size that otherwise looked the same as one another.
They were all made of cobblestone with red pointy roofs that varied in shape.
All except for two; one that he had already passed at the gates of the village (a giant white castle) and one that was on the edge of the end of the village.
The one that was on the edge of town had a darker roof color than all the other houses did and was paler and smoother looking than the other houses it loomed over.
It looked rather homey in his opinion.
Cause he, he's so gone...
Hans decided to settle down there for a while to give himself and Sitron a break, renting a room at the local inn.
He had been briefly worried about what he was gonna do with his best friend, but it turns out he hadn't needed to be because the inn also had a stable that Sitron could stay in.
Hans never thought he'd be there for longer than a few days....
And then he met her.
(he's so gone, yeah)...
He'd been out exploring the village, looking for somewhere to buy food when he ran into someone. And immediately got cursed at.
"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING, CARROT TOP!"
Here I am, this is me...
He rubbed his aching head and looked up at the culprit, a snappy and witty retort on the tip of his tongue. It died in his throat immediately when he saw her.
The woman who would change his life.
And I'm stronger than you ever thought I'd be...
She had short, dark-brown (nearly black) hair, extremely pale skin, and dark brown eyes as well as a sharp chin. She was thin and wore a long, light green a-line dress with poofy sleeves and a green choker.
Hans thought that she was absolutely stunning.
Are you shocked?
The woman— who he'd later find out was Drizella Tremaine, Queen Cinderella's stepsister— just huffed as he stared at her. Too stunned to speak.
Once she realized that he likely wasn't gonna say anything, she stormed off angrily— throwing a glare over her shoulder at him. Only when she was gone did he weakly sputter at her to come back.
She didn't.
He wasn't sure if she heard him or not.
Are you mad?...
He decided to stick around town for a while. Just so he could get the chance to talk to her at least once.
That you're missing out on who I really am...
It took him a while.
Mainly because she was still mad at him for being rude and because he couldn't seem to speak at all when he was around her without stammering and stuttering.
Now it looks like the joke's on you...
But by some miracle of fate, he finally managed to talk to her. And the two of them immediately hit it off, despite their rocky start. And they began to date in secret for a reason he didn't know at first.
'Cause, the boy that you thought you knew...
Hans met her sister, Anastasia, and her brother in law, Jacob.
As well as her cat, Lucifer.
And she in turn met Sitron as well as Runo and Rudi when they eventually tracked him down. After yelling at them to leave him alone when she found them cornering him, that is.
He's so gone (he's so gone)...
His brothers decided to stay with him in the village to see how his relationship with Drizella would turn out.
Teasing him about it the entire time— entirely good-naturedly, surprisingly. Not once did Runo and Rudi slip back into old habits for fear that they'd lose him permanently.
That's so over now...
Not too long after, Lady Tremaine found out about Hans and Drizella's relationship . And she was not happy about it at all.
he's so gone (he's so gone)...
You won't find him around....
She confronted the two of them not too long after.
Yelling and cursing and belittling the both of them, saying their relationship had to end because Drizella had to marry a prince or noble. Saying that she wasn't gonna have both her daughters be disappointments.
You can look but you won't see...
The boy I used to be..
Hans waited until she was done to inform her that he was, in fact, a prince— the 13th prince of the southern isles— much to Drizella and Lady Tremaine's shock.
'Cause he, he's so gone..
(he's so gone, yeah)...
Drizella had sputtered and Lady Tremaine had demanded proof. Which he was able to provide in the form of a handkerchief with his family's crest on it.
Here I am, this is me...
And I'm stronger than you ever thought I'd be...
And that's when his new life began.
Lady Tremaine wrote to his 3rd oldest brother, arranging a marriage between him and Drizella in secret. And once they received confirmation that the marriage was go, she allowed him and his brothers to move into her home.
Are you shocked?...
Are you mad?...
That you're missing out on who I really am...
She also allowed Hans to move Sitron from the inn's stables to the Tremaine family stables that was located on the Tremaine family land.
Now it looks like the joke's on you...
'Cause, the boy that you thought you knew...
Hans and his brothers quickly settled into the village that would one day become Cinderellasburg.
He became captain of the royal guard and his brothers became blacksmiths.
Drizella, Lars, and His sisters in law couldn't have been more proud of him even if they tried.
he's so gone (he's so gone)...
That's so over now..
His and Drizella's wedding was one fit for royalty.
Mainly because Lady Tremaine ensured that it was.
It was color coded to match their favorite colors— green, blue, and white— and everything was beautiful.
All the food was provided by Anastasia and her husband as well as Tiana, and Lars and Lottie showed up.
It was probably the 2nd happiest day of his life.
he's so gone (he's so gone)...
You won't find him around...
He was happier than he had been in a long time.
He was well respected and he was getting on well with his brothers and his wife's family.
His wife's sister became his best friend and he was named the godfather of the child she was currently carrying.
You can look but you won't see...
The boy I used to be...'
Cause he...
He even helped her pick the possible names for the baby. Suggesting that she name it after someone she loved— someone like a family member or a character from a book.
They, along with Jacob, eventually narrowed it down to two names; Anthony (if it was a boy) and Antoinette (if it was a girl).
Both were meant to honor her father.
The couple loved them.
he's so gone away like history...
he's so gone...
Baby, this is me, yeah...
Everything was going well.
Better than anything else in his entire life had gone.
He was flying high and so was Drizella.
He thought that nothing could go wrong.
But he was wrong.
he's so gone (he's so gone)...
That's so over now...
he's so gone (he's so gone)...
Auardon was formed and all the villains were rounded up. Including them.
He wasn't that surprised that he and Lady Tremaine were shipped off with them. But he was surprised by the fact that his wife of all people was sent to the isle with him.
Sure, she was a bully when she was younger but did she really deserve the isle?
Whether or not she did, Auardon didn't care.
They still shipped her off.
And they ended up missing the birth of little Anthony.
You won't find him around...
You can look but you won't see...
To make matters worse, his brothers— The Stabbington twins— and their young sons as well as Lady Caine (Runo's wife) and Madam Medusa (Rudi's wife) were shipped off with them.
To the horrid and decrypt, barren Island that would become their new home.
The boy I used to be...
'Cause he, he's so gone...
(he's so gone)...
A year passed and Drizella fell pregnant.
Hans did his best to support and care for her.
The years passed and their family grew till they had 7 beautiful daughters.
But sometime before their last two children were born, something horrifying happened.
he's so gone (he's so gone)...
Anastasia and her four small children were sent to the isle and had to move back in with Lady Tremaine, who opened a hair salon to rake in some money. And besides the horrible depression that his sister in law had fallen into, life moved on.
You can look but you won't see..
Soon he had 7 beautiful daughters and tons of nieces and nephews. And while life wasn't great, it could be worse.
He was definitely happier than any of his brothers back in Auardon were, that was for sure.
The boy I used to be...
Because he had a beautiful wife and 7 beautiful daughters who adored him, and he was finally out from underneath his father's thumb. And he was never gonna go back there. And neither were his little girls.
They would never suffer like he did.
Never feel as stupid and useless as he did.
'Cause he, he's so gone...
And that was the best gift that he could ever ask for.
Gone, gone, gone..
