Rewrite the Stars - Zendaya and Zac Efron

It's been two years.

Two years of life being adjusted to another shift in perspective.

Two years of changing, moving, breathing, accepting.

Two years..... Where the world slowly began to make sense.

The petition was finally heard from the president of the country himself and signed off a law that goes into deep detail of how - an individual will not be prevented or denied acceptance in a sporting event due to their sexual orientation, disability, color of their skin, gender, and so on. Not only was this targeted for sporting events, but any participation in any job, housing, and school as a whole.

This happened three months after the mass skating event at the park, a month before the conference with the skating directors - where they denied the petition.

Little did they know the president already spoke to the heads behind this cause, sat down a few meetings with them before finally - they came into an agreement of this law.

The country was in festivity, along with many other countries making parades and carnivals for the embracement to the cause - hoping it will influence some countries who aren't open to this to change as well.

Everyone that was out of their Olympic programs were welcomed back. The directors, all of them, were fired. Now having Jackson, Taemin, and Hoseok as their chairman and directors assigned by the president.

The Jewels of South Korea were back, and now skating as much as they desire.

Within these two years, seeking a proper counselor, Jeongguk has slowly developed his speech once again. It took a while, not going to deny that. Opening up about his trauma to his therapist, Dr. Kang, was anything but easy. The first four months he spent crying, hysterical, and depressed after most of his sessions. Mainly due to him slowly releasing what he's been suppressing in out and being able to come into terms with that was anything but an easy ride.

But with the support and help of those around him, he managed through.

Especially when he took it upon himself to reach out to the family he ran away from.

The biggest block he refused to face.

When Jeongguk saw his mother for the first time, now as a man who understood her pain and sacrifice she did for him, he spoke.

For the first time since those three months after his skating event at the park. And not just chipped sentences, but a complete and long phrases - as though the wall that held back his voice finally broke.

When he saw his mother again, he cried.

But not only cried because of the way she burst into tears when she saw her son now all grown up since the last time.

It was because of the familiar woman that she was now living with - the woman who was her lover when he was younger.

And they are now married, finally leaving Namjoon's father to pursuit her own happiness.

She was finally happy, and with the person she wanted to be with.

After that moment of reconnection, the journey through Jeongguk's therapy felt more eased - obviously with his ups and downs, but he felt surer about moving forward.

With his mothers now by his side as support.

As for Jimin, he got accepted back into the Ballet Academy, along with Jihyo.

No longer was he just a regular dancer under Taemin's instructions, but now he was a choreographer as well and taught his own classes - which felt like being in bootcamp due to his charming and snarky nature.

That sure hasn't changed.

He still performs, but not as often as he used to due to other responsibilities he must abide to.

Him and Taemin as still close, probably closer now ever since Jimin became an instructor. The two would go over specific routines that Jimin should teach the class or talk about future performances, nothing more than a professional bond - with of course occasional teasing here and there.

With Jimin still seeking therapy, he's been more consistent on his medications and keeping up his appointments with Dr. Kang - Who he recommended Jeongguk to see - and he feels as though he has healed in many parts of himself that he didn't want to accept or dive into. But with Dr. Kang as his therapist, he feels like he can truly conquer anything the more he set his mind into it and doing things that will drive into his passion.

Overall, he has grown satisfied with where he stands in life.

Despite not being able to see completely anymore.

But, a doctor he met with during his travel to Boston for a meeting with a ballet academy there reached out to him - and after running some diagnostics and having an appointment later, he did inform Jimin that his condition is in fact incurable. However, some people that did have his same condition somehow recovered a portion of their sight within time.

Not all of it, but it's possible to gain more than what he can see now.

It doesn't happen to most people, since it's rare, but the possibility is still there.

The hope for Jimin to see.

Jimin that night talked to Jeongguk in tears, the hope of being able to see now flashing his eyes as though a miracle was happening with his life.

Despite how happy Jeongguk was for him, he also wanted Jimin to keep himself grounded in case that doesn't happen - just to not be disappointed if months and days passed by and he still wasn't able to see.

They got into a mild argument, okay maybe a bad fight actually - that had Taemin unease whether to get involved or not - since he was there with Jimin when he accompanied him to Boston.

Four days of ignoring each other later until Jimin got back to Korea, didn't last so long before the two eventually made up.

Possibly through make up sex, but they did talk about the issue before hand of course.

Aside from speed skating and ballet, the two have been working on figure skating as well. They went from performing at small events to finally being able to participate in the Pair Figure Skating Olympic events when the time comes.

That's their only drive as of now - to show to the world that they can skate, together.

Meanwhile, life for the Jewels of South Korea has been evolving. They still remain as the greatest skating team in the country, with now having Ten joining back.

It wasn't until a year later that Hoseok reluctantly brought up that the team is not exactly completed for competitions, and that means they need to have someone else join in as well.

They refused.

Whether they have to double in the work or exhaust themselves skating, they will not have a replacement.

Felix is still in this team, and no one will ever take his spot.

So, they will manage somehow with the numbers they have now, and when the time comes to speak with the directors to form a meeting about them being a unit with the numbers they have now.

And that's not going to change.

On an emotional stand base, they have grown better.

Healing better that is.

Ten still hasn't moved on from Felix, but he has been falling back to his previous self from time to time with the support of his team.

Now he's just focused on himself, becoming a better athlete while also taking care of Felix's family in the meantime.

Seokjin has also started seeing someone - Ironically so, Jeongguk's brother, Namjoon. Throughout this process with the stand, Namjoon has been present along with his hockey team, but was also helping out the issues with his family - Jeongguk's mom and his dad. The two were going through a tough time and Namjoon was left to be the mediator through it before Jeongguk's mom eventually opened up to him.

And told him about - well... The truth.

About how she truly felt and.... How she just couldn't take being in a marriage like this anymore.

So, he helped her.

He helped them file a divorce and helped her find the love of her life again.

And to say the second they reunited felt so peaceful would be an understatement.

It opened Namjoon's eyes to a possible love coming into his life soon, while also seeking the right therapy about his condition.

And that sure happened.

In the locker room, when Namjoon accidentally slammed his hockey stick to Seokjin's head on his way out to practice.

Seokjin didn't know much about Namjoon, besides the fact that he is Jeongguk's brother, so he wasn't exactly mad when he received a borderline concussion after he put the dots together.

Somewhere isn't between the lines, they got closer..... Somehow. Seokjin's calm and relaxed attitude was what Namjoon really needed from someone in his life, to keep him steady someway and centered about things that truly matter.

They started off as friends and well, things grew from there.

And well, they weren't exactly the only ones either going through this phase.

Within these two years, Woosung and Karma have been in...... Steamy waters. They aren't anything serious, just.... It's hard to explain really since they don't even know themselves.

They act the same but have moments where they use each other to ease some steam. So, perhaps friends with benefits? Without anyone knowing, besides Taehyung.

Not by choice since he caught them one day while he was visiting Minho the two on the couch, getting pretty steamy while being alone.

Despite it being two years already that they're in these waters, they still have a lot of issues to discuss before even thinking of having something serious.

Captain Hongjoong hasn't changed. He's still trying to keep the team together, remain enthusiastic, even encouraged the team to participate in a group therapy so they can get better as a unit while having someone else there. Not a special someone yet, but that's not even something that crosses his mind.

His team is all he truly needs really.

So, the team has grown better, overall.

As for the couple, Taehyung and Minho have now moved onto the engagement stage of their relationship. Really cute how Minho proposed to Taehyung; it was during Taehyung's medal award ceremony for this competition he participated with Seulgi. Minho skated to the stand in front of Taehyung, said some heart wrenching words to his shocked boyfriend, and got down to his knee with a ring in hand.

Best believe the entire skating world went into havoc the second they heard the news, and a big celebration blew up as well the following night hosted by women's hockey team.

Now they're planning to get married the incoming year, maybe after the Olympics, but that's still to be decided.

Lastly, Lalisa and Jihyo.

After a year and a half later, they finally announced themselves as a couple.

You bet it took a while for Jihyo to finally be swayed to be in a relationship with the speed skater, and mainly it was because of how she did not approve to how Lalisa would ask her out.

It was literally until Lalisa blew up and expressed her feelings that Jihyo finally accepted, and it was because she was waiting for that.

For Lalisa to finally express her feelings.

Since then, they've been having a decent and stable relationship, with occasion mocking and teasing moments here and there.

Life for everyone slowly began to fall into place.

Some people still weren't supportive of their cause, some less about the law that was made - a few would still act out against it or say hurtful things to them if they're spotted out in public, but that's something that they can't really do much about.

Those people will just have to get used to it someday.

Maybe not today, or even days and months from now, but eventually they'll have to suck it up.

Besides, if they knew what was good for them, they wouldn't act out unless they want to have issues with the law enforcements - since any act of breaking the said law will only bring consequences to them.

So, no one really has been affected so deeply by them at this point in time. They just grew to ignore them after a while.

So as you can see, nothing is ever impossible.

Sometimes it takes a small group of voices to send of a large wave of sound to make an impact.

To finally be free.

And after two years, those impacted slowly began to feel free.

To feel alive.

Especially a familiar ballet dancer.

In this point in time, Jimin is in the midst of practicing his pirouettes in the practice room of the rink. He just finished a long day of teaching some new dancers how to properly stretch out themselves, so he's loose and warmed up enough for his skating practice today.

In the midst of seeing a blurred world in reduce of color after his third pirouette, he suddenly felt arms around his waist.

With a familiar scent dragging along with it.

Immediately Jimin smiles, easing down from his pointe feet up, hands trailing the arms snuggling him tightly.

"I was practicing."

"I know," Jeongguk whispers, pressing a peck to the side of Jimin's head, "And you needed a break."

Jimin's hands smooths over Jeongguk's signs with his hands, along with hearing his voice.

That's another reason why Jeongguk wanted to seek therapy to speak. He knew Jimin wouldn't be able to understand him anymore once he lost all his vision, so they had to find a way to communicate.

And that was with Jeongguk taking it upon him to face his trauma, for Jimin and himself.

Even though Jimin has memorized a few of the signs as it is, he can make out a few things by touching the signs with his hands.

Muscle memory.

But Jeongguk has preferred using more his vocal words to speak instead, in that way he practices those throat muscles again after straining them for so long.

Jimin scoffs to his boyfriend's words and turns around, tracing Jeongguk's arms with his delicate touch to find his neck, clasping his cheeks with a smile.

Adoringly, Jeongguk leans and mold their lips together, holding him tighter to his body and softly swaying them side to side.

Unable to suppress his smile to now shift to giggles, Jimin kisses him deeper before pulling away with his giggling smile and eyes closed as he savored his boyfriend's lips against his.

It suddenly got harder to fathom the tranquility of expression on Jimin's face because Jeongguk leans and presses multiple pecks against his cheek with a squeal, before spinning him around with a final kiss on his lips with him tightly in his arms.

"I love you," Jeongguk murmurs against Jimin's lips, "I'm so in love with you Jimin."

Jimin's heart smiles to those sweet words, leaning to Jeongguk's lips teasingly before whispering against his, "I'm in love with you Jeongguk..... My silly boy."

With tender smiles on their lips, they slowly moved to the soft song that's being played on the speakers - which was the song of their grand performance.

Dernière Danse.

They followed the song as though it was just yesterday that they performed it, following their same technique of Jeongguk softly singing to be of Jimin's guide as to where he is while Jimin also sings back to be Jeongguk's ears; making sure the two were in sync with which part of the song they are on.

Carelessly their spun on the ground, leaped into jumps and held each other just as they did on the ice.

Now filling the dance with love, acceptance, and the despair to the troubles they had to do to get here.

Jimin smiles as he dances, keeping his eyes closed as he lets Jeongguk guide him, through the positions of his arms and legs, while Jimin also guided him with his lips moving along to the music.

A few giggles and soft murmurs were escaped along the way, filling the air in gentle spirals, all the way until their last step - to which Jimin just holds Jeongguk adoringly with arms around his neck.

Just as the song finished.

The two remained like this, in each other's arms, holding one another for a few more moments as they let life sink in.

Their new future.

New hope for a life ahead.

Their home.

Where they can be together.

Freely.

Jeongguk slowly eases back, taking Jimin's jaw in his hands, "Have you seen Yoongi yet? He's been saying you need to check in with him about your ankle."

"But it's fine now," Jimin groans, pouting against Jeongguk's hands, "I rested and I'm fine - You saw me doing pirouettes!"

Amusingly Jeongguk squishes Jimin's cheeks, "Don't be a baby, you know Yoongi is just worried."

Jimin mimics his words back to him, fluttering his eyes open, "But he can be a pain-"

"Shhh, you know he has helped us so much while we were going through our protest and-"

"Jeongguk-"

"No, I'm talking now. You have to give respect to our medic. You know how hard he has to work every single day, with a bunch of skaters always coming in to see him for injuries-"

There are tears beaming Jimin's eyes, "J-Jeongguk-"

"And right now, he's making time for you, so you have to go make an appointment and - Wait are you crying? No baby, I didn't mean to say anything offensive-"

"Jeongguk!" Jimin is crying now, hands now stretching out to Jeongguk's face with trembling fingertips, clasping his jaw.

Jeongguk's lips parted.

Jimin didn't use Jeongguk's body as a guide to his face....

He didn't...

The realization slowly flushed Jeongguk's complexion, choking in his breaths now as Jimin just holds Jeongguk's face with streams of tears sliding down his cheek in a mix of horror yet relief.

Now able to see a blurred outline of Jeongguk's face, with small specks of colors returning his vision.

"Jeongguk..."
