Symphony - Clean Bandit ft Zara Larsson [Acoustic]

"Congratulations!"

"That was spectacular!"

"Great job out there!"

Those were all the words Jimin was only surrounded by just as the show ended; being given a clap, standing ovation, and cheers from the dancers as he was making his way back to the dressing room. They hollered so loud and appeared so incredibly proud that the energy was so hard to just ignore. Even if Jimin tried to hide it, he couldn't fight back the small smile as he accepted the kind words and strong enthusiasm for his performance.

To be fair, he felt as though he can accept these compliments because this show was the most memorable he's every had.

Better than any performance he's ever done.

He doesn't know whether it was because of the medication hiding all his views of his flaws that would've disturbed his performance or because of the fact he really did feel that spark of passion he thought was gone forever in his memory, but this show definitely was something he can't even criticize so harshly.

He's proud of himself.

He really is.

That slow self appreciation was like a bubbling bomb of excitement in his heart, ready to explode in all of it's joy. It was when he finally made it back to his dressing room where it got the opportunity to settle in. He had this silly smile on his lips, growing broader and broader the more he thought about it, something that he was able to express now that he was alone.

He felt giddily, pure joy, euphoric. The list goes on.

Happy.

He felt really happy.

If only Jackson was here to see him perform. Since the very beginning, Jackson always believed in Jimin's potential and has desired to see him perform to his full capability in how own waters. He never failed to hype Jimin up in the past and without a doubt he would've been so proud.

He would've definitely seen Jimin's true potential-

"Jimin, someone here wants to see you, can they come in?"

Taemin's familiar voice echoes past the door, just as Jimin finishes changing into his regular attire and removed the messy stage make up. This new smile is on his face now, this time just by hearing Taemin's voice alone.

When the show ended, Taemin was the first person Jimin ran up to and leaped into his arms. At that moment he was at the peak of his adrenaline and he just couldn't help but feel proud when Taemin kept repeating over and over how amazing he did and how proud he is.

This is all he ever wanted, to make Taemin proud.

Not just as an instructor, but as a friend.

He accomplished it. He knew when he saw Taemin breaking down in tears with the most happiest smile on his face.

In his bubble of euphoria, Jimin only hums back for the person come in. Nothing really can break his little bubble right now, even if they tried. This person definitely caught him at a good time, whoever it is.

While Jimin shoves his feet into his boots, the door to the dressing room opens. He didn't look up yet, not until the door closes once again that snapped his attention for him to see who it was that has entered the room.

And his heart dropped the second his eyes met with a familiar pair of brown eyes.

Jeongguk....

Jeongguk is here?

Jimin furrows his eyebrows with lips parted ajar, too taken back by the sudden presence to even move from where he's standing.

The familiar ravenette even looks just as shocked or cautious as Jimin does, but when his eyes lingered longer to Jimin's stare it was like it something in him relaxed, relieved. Shyly, and perhaps a bit boldly, he only steps more forward and extends the large banquet of flowers - that he had hidden to his back - to the handsome dancer, a shy smile forming is lips.

To shocked process what's going on, Jimin just stares at the flowers and back to Jeongguk's face, feeling his throat tighten as the memories of the past storms through his head.

Followed by an intense amount of guilt..... For what he did to him.

Slamming the food to his face. Insulting him. Leaving the program. Disregarding his feelings back then in that hotel room-

"Congratulations."

The breathy voice draws Jimin's attention away from his deep thoughts, looking at Jeongguk and to the flowers in his hand, before being really reluctant to take it carefully in his hands.

Pink hibiscus flowers.

They're pretty.

"Thanks," He whispers lowly, unable to look up at Jeongguk while having his heart squeezing in his chest, unsettled.

For a good moment Jeongguk didn't even say or do anything, but he was clearly nervous by how he kept rubbing his hands and shuffling his feet.

But then he clears his throat, "Busy?"

Jimin bites his tongue, trying to be careful with what to say next. He didn't want to be stupid like last time, or maybe have something he doesn't mean come out, but the second he looks up at Jeongguk's soft gaze once he said that it was like a pull that tugged inside him.

For a while he refused to think or even talk about Jeongguk or skating. Now that he's here, in front of him, this just all feels so different.

Before Jimin would always be so self cautious that he might explode around Jeongguk; thinking how much of a fuck up he is around him and how he's going to hurt him on a daily basis because of his instability.

Now, this all feels....... A little new.

Maybe because Jimin had changed from the time being, or maybe because Jeongguk isn't looking at him with that monotonous stare that he use to before.

Instead he's looking at him gently, as though he's not afraid if Jimin is going to go angry mode out to him with the wrong step or words he says.

No, he's not scared or nervous anymore.

He trusts Jimin.

Trusts him to handle his health as he said he would.

And..... At this point Jimin is slowly trusting himself too.

So he mustered the courage to respond back, "I think Jihyo and Taemin mentioned something about celebrating for the performance so-"

"Walk," Jeongguk cuts in, looking a little flustered now that he cut Jimin off, "Um.... Car."

Hm, walk Jimin to his car.

Jimin clearly looked a little cautious. It's not like he doesn't trust Jeongguk, but he just doesn't trust himself around him yet. Everything has been fine, and now he's scared that anything he may say will be a disappointment to him.

But after Jimin takes one last glance to the flowers and back to Jeongguk, this small confidence and glimmer of happiness sparked in him - the same feeling he had when his performance ended - with this assurance to himself that everything is going to be okay.

So he make shifts a small smile and nods.

Without another word, the two walk out of the dressing room together. The ambient is calmer than how it was before now that the show ended. Some people probably already left or is getting ready to leave, so not many people regarded the two when Jimin guided them through the back to the direction of the parking lot.

It was quiet the whole journey, but it's so clear that there was so much the two wanted to say to each other. Jeongguk kept rubbing his hands and Jimin kept looking at the ground with his tight grip on the flowers.

Something he has grown to dislike strongly after so much time being around such a..... Soft environment with Taemin and and Jihyo, perhaps even Yeosang, that now being with someone in such an awkward way or a thick tension environment makes him uncomfortable.

It makes him feel like he maybe did something wrong, so his anxiety acts up.

Awkwardly he clears his throat, maintaining himself calm, "So, how was the competition?"

"Good."

"Any first place wins?"

"Mhm."

"Cool," Jimin is running out of things to stay, "No injuries I hope."

"Safe."

That's good to hear.

Jimin instead of responding only slowly nods back, just as they made it to the back door and came upon the parking lot. The night is warmer now, clear and silent with a few cars here but nothing so packed as to how it was earlier.

No need for rushing, the two take their time walking towards Jimin's car. The tension is getting thicker, yet despite that for some reason it still felt a few touches of comfort.

It's like they're melting the ice along with it, by just bearing through.

Letting it sink in that things are just not the same as to how it was before, and not in a bad way either.

Easily Jimin took his car keys out of his pocket and unlocks the car as they finally got to it, "Do you want to came with me? To the celebration?"

Jeongguk clearly did not expect that from Jimin. The way his eyes bulged and his head gently tilted to the side said it all, but Jimin remained serious to show that he wasn't kidding.

So a little more eased, Jeongguk shakes his head and points back to the building with his thumb, "Um..... Lisa."

Oh, so he came with her.

Guess they're still going with the fake dating.

Or maybe..... They are dating?

Jimin removed the thought from his head, nodding to himself, "Okay well..... Thanks for coming," And he opens the driver side of the door, "I'll see you-"

"Wait."

He stops just before he got in the car, eyes now in Jeongguk with an expectant stare. Jeongguk looks at him with this wary doe eyes before somehow mustering the courage in him with a determined nod.

"Tomorrow," He pauses, raising a shakily hand to rub against his own throat, "Busy?"

Jimin stayed still for a second or two long, studying carefully Jeongguk's delicate features while feeling his heart thumping hard and fast in his chest.

Truth is, he doesn't have anything to do besides his therapy session with Yeosang. No practice tomorrow and no plans either as far as he's aware of.

For a moment he wanted to say no. Not because Jeongguk is some negative trigger to him or something, but because Jimin is just too cautious around him. He hates feeling that way. He knows he can handle himself, especially since he's been taking more care of himself, but the main reason he left Jeongguk's side was to heal and not hurt him anymore.

While also remember good moments in his remaining days.

Not like Jeongguk is a negative burden, but Jimin isn't so fond of thinking about him crying because of him not being careful with himself.

It's stressful.

It really is.

Yet despite all cons screaming at him, Jimin still somehow shook his head, betraying them.

He has to trust himself.

They're going to be okay.

Jimin isn't like how he was before. He's getting help for his issues and sorting them out.

He wouldn't hurt Jeongguk.

So he offers the ravenette a smile, once he could manage to see the makeshift smile on Jeongguk's lips.

Seeing Jeongguk smile is definitely something he was missing a lot these days.

"Um..... Tomorrow," Jeongguk once again murmurs, slowly stepping back with his eyes sparkling, "8 p.m."

Was all he said before turning around and walking away, leaving Jimin to nearly chuckle to himself to the thought that now he has plans for tomorrow.

With Jeongguk.

Wow, who would've known he would willingly have plans with him in the future?

What a twist of fate has played in their hearts huh?
