Balance ton quoi - Angèle

Jimin watches as they take the female skater out of the rink in a gurney, paramedics trying to help her snapped bone of her forearm from over bleeding along with her cheek slice from her partner's skate that glided against her face through the fall.

Her partner wasn't exactly any better since he broke his nose and got his leg stabbed by the ice skate when his partner fell. So he's also on another gurney, the two being escorted out as well to the emergency room.

The event has completely been cancelled and Jimin was already preparing his strongly worded speech to Taemin with what marvelous lesson this has been for him; clearly to never fucking trust his partner even if his life depended on it.

Oh Jimin was planning it alright. He was already muttering it to himself as he waited with Johnny while Taemin went to comfort the coach of the two skaters. Jimin can hear the way he's wailing his frustration out to his instructor, expressing how this has never happened before and how he blames this on them for not building a stronger chemistry together.

Truth is, it wasn't only the chemistry they lacked, but skill. The girl was trying very hard to go into a very ballet authentic style, which she clearly lacked a lot in regards to posture and movements. The male obviously was trying to keep up with her and also trying these moves that his body didn't have the capacity to do, trying hard to do a good show- or show off.

Clearly the choreography was well thought out, but they went out there on their own to show they're better than the gold medalist.

A+ for ambition, F for coordination.

But of course Jimin wasn't going to mention his snarky judgement as he continues to stand behind Taemin, who's nodding to Jackson Wang -The coach of the two skaters- as he flips off to how they didn't follow his instructions and now has to look for a set of new skaters for the following competitions or shows.

Poor him.

"I'm sure there's many skaters in your program with potential," Taemin assured kindly, making Jackson groan in complete devastation.

"They lack what I'm looking for! They believe being a skater is about winning and the competition, but there's so much elegance to that. It involves precision, feeling the music, being connected with the ice-"

"To be one with your partner," Jimin points off, snapping both of there attention to him, "Not be so fucking reckless and make mistakes that one hasn't practiced before. Skill, elegance, the list goes on what these two failed to do. Speaking from the perspective of a ballet dancer, even though that's not the same shit but hey it's still dancing."

Jackson blinks at Jimin and his pointed annoyed look, glancing at Taemin before looking back to him with a small smile and extends a hand, "You must be Park Jimin?"

Jimin scowls to his hand, keeping his arms crossed and sneering his face away from it in disgust, "Sorry, not interested."

The man didn't seem the least bit offended, instead he retreats his hand and looks at Taemin with hands to his back now, "I've seen him perform a few times in the past, you have a good student indeed."

This raised Taemin's ego a little, standing up straighter with a prideful smile, "I know, even though he lacks trust with his partners and tends to get picky. I actually brought him here to teach him the value of dependency of relying on his pair-"

"How great that turned out to be."

"- And how to perform well with what he's got," Taemin says through gritted teeth before sending a side glare to Jimin, "I'm sure he took in a few notes."

Ha, definitely.

Jimin rolls his eyes but he can't deny that he did take a few lessons or mental notes from what he saw out there. The pair skaters, Taehyung and Seulgi, really did an outstanding performance from what he can recall. It showed the value of trust and how much of a long way it can take you to perform the best out there in front of an audience. It looks like they were made to perform together, everyone can see that.

But that doesn't change how Jimin will just magically trust Johnny, or even like him, but gives him a little hope that perhaps a perfect partner is around the corner.

Good thing he has five months of break for Taemin to find a suitable partner for his standards-

"May I ask, does he skate?"

Jimin furrows his eyebrows, almost accusingly to Jackson with lips pursed. Taemin even looks confused as well but turns to Jimin so he can answer his question since he obviously doesn't fucking know.

During Jimin's relationship era, there's been times Namjoon has tried to teach him how to skate as cute dates, but obviously hockey skates are different from figure skates. Jimin can stand in skates but he can't move since he always gave up whenever Namjoon would let him go- or maybe he did that just to catch his attention.

So he grimaces, "No, why does that matter?"

Jackson hums to himself in thought, eyes raking Jimin's figure as though he's studying his physic. There's not much to see really because of his pea coat drowning on his body, but Jackson seemed to get an idea of his silhouette. He nods a little, flicking his head to the side.

"I can make it work," He mumbles and suddenly turns to Taemin with a suggestive smile, "With both of yours permission, I would like to for Jimin to participate a week in my program."

Excuse me?

A what?

For a who?

Denial, this man is in complete denial.

Even hilarious if he thinks Jimin would even step on ice after whatever happened to his students.

Unlike Jimin, Taemin had a completely different facial expression to this bizzare idea. He was taking it into thought, clearly, weighing it out and thinking of the risks like a flash of gears in his mind.

A moment of silence passed and Taemin now crosses his arms over his chest, "A week? Why a week for?"

To this Jackson smiled as though he got the best idea storming his head, "I want to see how quick he can learn how to skate and if he could be a replacement for the pair skaters for small events until they can get better, who clearly won't be able to perform now for shows."

Jimin couldn't hold it in anymore.

He laughed.

He laughed hard.

Some people were even casting a few stares at him but he didn't care, he never does. Instead he looks amusingly to Jackson, shaking his head, "As if you think I would ever skate in my life! No, that's ridiculous. Risk my career if I get injured, bulls-"

"There will be no injuries if you listen to what I have to say," Jackson says back, stepping closer in eagerness, "If you listen to my instructions then you won't even have to think of the risk! If you have the skills, dancer and then as a skater then I guarantee you that anything you lacked off in ballet, skating will help you redefine it."

Did he have the audacity to criticize his dancing?

Jimin narrows his eyes, ready to snap at him back but Taemin spoke up first before he got the chance, "If he tries your program for a week and manages to skate well, will he be paired up with someone?"

"Yes, though I will need time to find a female skater from my program but that's never a problem. If she knows how to skate then she could be a guide to Jimin and he could be a guide to her elegance," Jackson continues to persuade, ticking more and more of Jimin's patience, "It could teach him how to trust in his partners and more techniques for his dancing. It's perfect!"

Ha, that's enough bullshitting thanks.

Even though in some way he's right, Jimin is not an ice skater. Learning is like learning how to walk all over again, similar to ballet, and he's already got to focus on that and become the best he could. Skating is going to become a problem in the way.

Now he would have to focus on his partner not slicing his skull in half?

Yeah, right.

Taemin tightly smiles at this, extending a hand out to his friend, "I'll speak it over with him and I'll get back to you."

Jackson didn't pry any longer, only shakes his hand back with a friendly smile before sending one last hopeful look to Jimin before talking away.

The scowl on Jimin's face was too hard to wipe off his mean lips. He looks as though he was ready to tear off Jackson's head for even putting this idea into Taemin's mind, but when he looks to Taemin he sees the man only staring off to where Jackson left before leading the way for them to leave.

Wait, he's not seriously considering this is he?!

The scowl shifted to a more desperate expression as Jimin catches up to Taemin's side, tugging the arm of his jacket, "You're not seriously considering this are you?"

They make it to the lobby and out the doors, Jimin's heart now spiking up in anxiety when Taemin exhales a heavy breathe to the crispy air before turning to him, "Its a lot to consider alright? First of all, I can't risk my best dancer facing a sick injury like what happened back there, but in some way Jackson is right. If you listen to his instructions than I know you won't get harmed. He will definitely shift you out to find a connection with your partners while performing, so yeah, I have a lot to think about."

It's obvious this decision doesn't only lie on Taemin's shoulders, but also on Jimin's since he's the one going to face this process. Obviously he doesn't want to do it, and there's no way he can be convinced in doing so, but at the same time he acknowledges the fact that he is picky with who he gets paired with.

Every single time.

This could help him build trust with his partners for ballet instead of stressing Taemin out looking for another partner, but that's just a small part of Jimin's mind that is that considerate.

No way is he going to fucking skate on that ice.
