Jimin's hair style throughout the story^

In My Feelings - Lana Del Rey

Well, seems like Jeongguk was left eating his own words after all.

He didn't know whether to feel surprised or slightly taken back when his familiar skating partner entering the ambience of the loud party, looking around with steady emotionless eyes and both hands clasped to his front, appearing like a little good student type of posture despite his cold unapproachable aura.

Jeongguk was still to his corner when Jimin arrived, now on his second glass of champagne while conversing with Seokjin about this new formation Hoseok has in mind for practice. Now he's half paying attention while he looks at Jimin moving his gaze around the ballroom, twitching a scowl and began to walk towards a table with the flute glasses and champagne.

It still hasn't sunk in for Jeongguk that Jimin actually even came here in the first place. Surely he would have not bothered to be in the same building as Namjoon, or around people he doesn't know, so what's his motive for attending this event?

Who knows, not like Jeongguk cares too much to know either way.

"Hey, isn't that your figure skating partner?" Seokjin also noticed the man now drowning one glass of champagne, now serving a second glass, "Well, looks like he isn't the only one trying to forget tonight."

Jeongguk doesn't remark anything back to that, only drinks his own champagne in a small sip while also locating his brother to the bar area of the ballroom.

With his own eyes too on Jimin as well.

That was all Jeongguk needed to see in order to completely advert his attention back to Seokjin, changing the subject to focus on something else.

Time passed by either too quick or too slow after that, now being an hour left before New Years with people now getting more hyped up than they were before for the clock to strike midnight. Jeongguk would be moving from between the bar and that glass window throughout the entire event, avoiding the eyes of people even though sometimes a few skaters did go up to him to try to talk to him. Luckily he would find excuses on how to avoid the situation, somehow, going back to being alone as he once was to enjoy looking outside instead.

However that didn't always work to his favor.

It happened with an athlete from the Curling team, who Jeongguk completely forgot what his name was, but the man wouldn't stop talking. Jeongguk could only smile and nod to seem polite, drowning in his beverage as he desperately tried making eye contact with anyone from his team to save him from the distress, but they're all too intoxicated or somewhere dancing to focus on him.

Not like the guy was an asshole, if anything he was sweet enough because he knew Jeongguk couldn't speak -well everyone knows he isn't much of a talker and thinks he's just shy to socialize, so he was doing all of the talking. But that didn't change the fact that Jeongguk just simply doesn't like socializing with people.

He can't even hear the guy well, so this was more of a one sided conversation. But good thing Jeongguk has grown to read people well enough on their expression and lips to understand somewhat of what they're saying or are feeling so he can react.

Things that he has learned to pick up on after a while.

But there's still things he still was naïve about, and one of them being the way the man has been eying him discretely with commentaries here and there about how attractive he is that Jeongguk couldn't pick up on. He's never had men try to spark his interest, especially since it's not so common publicly seen out in the open, so he couldn't tell he difference between friendly and flirty.

So with that Jeongguk didn't see it as a bad thing when the man wrapped an arm around his shoulders in a jokingly way, pinching his cheek with a murmur Jeongguk couldn't quite understand. A few smiles and nods kept being exchanged before Jeongguk slowly began to get the hint to what was going on.

And it was when the man's arm around his shoulders drops, now a hand to his mid spine as it trails lower to-

Jeongguk's eyes widen and immediately slaps the hand away, choked up in shock. The guy was obviously a bit taken back by the Jeongguk's sudden reaction, now twitching a chuckle before he holds him by the waist and shackles him close to his body.

A state of paralysis became Jeongguk's sudden response, growing horrified upon experiencing such close contact with another male like this without his consent, and it bubbled up his panic in rapid waves of anxiety.

Reminding him of a time he urges to forget completely from his mind.

When he started to believe he was going to go on instantly lock down mode due to his silent panic attack, a hand suddenly grabs the man by the back collar of his shirt and yanks him aside.

Upon the man not having his hands on him anymore, Jeongguk quick response was to scrambled back, snapping out of his freeze response to see Jimin standing between him and the man with a monotone stare in his eyes.

Wait Jimin?

Out of all people, he noticed-

"Dude what is your problem-"

"Don't waste your oxygen trying give off explanations and walk away while you still have your pride, Yeah?" Jimin mocks back, rolling his eyes in distaste to the glare the other sends him.

Jimin didn't move, and the man was glaring between the two as if ready to say something, but Jimin only narrows his eyes and that was enough for him to actually listen and walks away.

Jeongguk silently stares, watching as he walks away while Jimin stayed in place, watching him as well go off to a bar, before turning around to face Jeongguk with hands to the pocket of his pants.

He didn't say anything, only dismissively looks at Jeongguk before fixating his stare out to the window with that haunting dead gleam in his eyes. From this angle, Jeongguk is able to capture more of Jimin's features despite having his heart pounding hard in his chest to what happened earlier to him.

Yet he only focused on Jimin, just Jimin.

Soft waves of chocolate hair brushes his soft face, caressing his eyebrows, looking similar to a hat on his head by how long his hair is growing to be. His figure remains the same, or perhaps that's the illusion his loose silk green blouse is giving off with his matching choker, tucked under his fitted pants of slim legs with appropriate dressed shoes.

A simple attire, but enough to catch the attention of every single person in this room.

Looking at him upon first glance no one would ever think he's this ice bitch that Jeongguk has grown use to be around. He seems the type to giggle a lot, maybe even even like those cuddly types of affections to make him feel cute or warm inside. To be fair, Jeongguk wouldn't even be surprised if he has a line of guys waiting to pamper him with praised, or women waiting to be given of some attention from the handsome man.

But that's not Jimin.

Jimin doesn't look for attention or for people to praise him, let alone gives off attention to someone else easily. He knows the attention is already on him, and he does what he does for his own sake to feel good about himself; Holding himself to such high standards so no one would dare bring him down and stomp against his hard work with their own ideas of perfection, because he redefines perfection to his own way and won't rest until he reaches it.

No, Jimin doesn't giggle or chases after affection to feel cute warm. He chases after people telling him he can't do something, provoking his senses to prove them all wrong. If a glimmer of tenderness breaks this façade, easier it'll be that this society will take advantage of it and see it as weakness.

So Jimin conceals it, conceals it real good, while being a puppet to the brutal realities he had to face in this world alone, crafting himself to be narcissistic to demonstrate to himself and the world that he no longer will be a product to them. Now he dances to his heartaches, no longer needing anyone's approval besides his own.

That is Park Jimin.

Maybe Jeongguk could be wrong though. Perhaps that's the conclusion he's came to in order to understand him based on observing the man for the past few weeks. Jimin could be narcissistic just because he honestly believes he's better than everyone else. Maybe he doesn't show emotions because he just doesn't feel them, and perhaps he does like the attention from others to his imagine even if he doesn't show it.

But as much as Jeongguk stares at the man, sinking him in while studying those emotionless eyes, he just knows there's more to him than meets the eye.

Than what he shows.

More layers to who Park Jimin is, and it's something Jeongguk doesn't desire to find out just for his sake.

Even if his eyes are betraying him from looking away.

Little did Jeongguk realize how slowly his anxiety was mellowing down, his focus too intensely at the man who finds no fun to this event as much as Jeongguk does. No matter how much he tried to read his expression, see what he really is feeling by being here in general, Jimin knows how to mask himself well unlike everyone else.

And it was starting to bother Jeongguk.

"You know, even though I'm use to the stares, doesn't mean I like it."

Jeongguk glances to his lips, trying to read what he's saying but only managed to understand stares and like. From what he can see, Jimin still doesn't seem fazed so it left him a bit confused to what he meant.

Still feeling his stare, Jimin purses his lips and turns to him, "Can you not-"

He pauses, staring with a moment or two to Jeongguk's confused gaze back at him. Jimin didn't say anything, just stares between his eyes.

Before leaning forward, immediately making Jeongguk tense up.

Jimin got so close to his face that the candy scent oozing from him intensifies against Jeongguk's nostriles, itching this weird heat to crawl up his skin that made it almost impossible to breathe.

Using a slender hand, Jimin caresses back Jeongguk's long raven hair gently to tuck it behind his ear to see he doesn't have his hearing aids. But obviously Jeongguk wasn't aware of that fact of what Jimin was doing, only too frozen to do anything besides hear his own heart beat drumming against his damn ears by the subtle touch of Jimin's finger tip grazing the shell of his ear.

He's a little too close.

And to say it was making Jeongguk nervous would be an understatement.

"Ah, that explains it," Jeongguk just barely heard this from the faint blaring music hum getting in the way from hearing his soft voice.

But he still heard it, even if it did sound muffled or far away.

Jimin pulls back, looking around with a grimace before looking to Jeongguk, nodding to the entrance, "Let's go."

Before Jeongguk could even have a say, Jimin turns around and walks away, expecting him to follow after him. The ravenette was a hit taken back by the sudden boldness of Jimin's attitude, but honestly couldn't expect anything less from him.

With a steady gaze, Jeongguk looks around the room for a second, debating his options on what to do before drowning the last of his beverage. It was a stupid decision, but either way he still followed after Jimin while leaving the glass at a random table.

Not like he was curious to where Jimin wanted to go, but it also became a good excuse to leave since either way not like Jeongguk was having fun being alone.

He's just going to have to trust Jimin that they'll go somewhere somewhat entertaining.

Heading to the entrance wasn't exactly a mission easy to accomplish, since there's still a shit tone of people at the dance floor moving to the music or moving around quickly to different areas. For a second it did ache Jeongguk's ears by being so close to the blaring music, but he only shakes it out of his system as the two males past the large double doors and walks down to the lobby of this hotel.

Jimin didn't seem like he was stopping anywhere, so Jeongguk concluded they must be going out somewhere specifically.

However they didn't make it too far from leaving, or in this case to Jimin's desired destination, because a familiar male enters the front entrance of the hotel - Clearly getting some air because of the hectic energy from being inside the ballroom- but stops momentarily when his eyes lifts up.

Facing Jimin in front of him.

Namjoon.

Ah.... shit.

A twitching frown itches Jeongguk's lips, watching the way Jimin's entire body froze mid step but still remains with his head high. Not dropping his pride for anything or anyone no matter who it is.

Typical Jimin thing to do.

Namjoon observes Jimin with a gaze as though he was not believing what was going on in front of him, or in this case who he was seeing so close before his eyes once again.

The two exes didn't say anything at that moment to each other, but clearly Jimin refused to linger onto a conversation with the said manager because he takes a step, resulting with Namjoon instantly standing in front of him with this clear conflicting battle in his gaze.

A battle between emotions or what is right to do, but when it comes to Jimin that self conscious is long gone.

Jimin sighs heavily, and Jeongguk didn't even have to see it to see him roll his eyes, "What is it that you want? I have somewhere to go."

Jeongguk looks at him, being able to hear just faintly a bit of his voice by how close he's near him and how silent the lobby is around them.

Namjoon opens his mouth to say something, but was choked up in words to say since he was not expecting to see Jimin here. However Namjoon being the man he is gathered his composure quickly, "I want to apologize for how I acted at the dorm-"

"Apology no accepted. Can I go now?"

"Jimin, can we please just talk?" Namjoon is trying hard to dig into Jimin's icy heart, searching for any resemblances of the man he use to be with, "I'll buy you a drink, just a few minutes and that's it."

It's clear that Jimin was losing his patience, judging by how he kept shifting in his place often from foot to foot.

Jeongguk stares to the back of his head, glances down to Jimin's hands only briefly to notice how it's slightly trembling in discomfort to the situation Hes in, before glancing back to him and then to his brother- Who still didn't realize he was here by his focus being only on the ballet dancer.

Jimin is losing grip of his composure.

"Listen, we have absolutely nothing to talk about," Jimin slices with a steady growl, low enough for only the two to hear, "We broke up. We no longer has any association with each other and neither do I want to in any way. Let go already of that image you have of me, it's not good for you."

Namjoon was hurt.

Not just hurt but completely destroyed, crushing any last remains of hope he must've had on gaining anything -even a friendship- with his ex. Jimin wasn't backing down, nor did it seem like he cared to how Namjoon's eyes began to get a little teary. He stayed with his head high, hands now to his black clasped together brutally hard to control the way it's trembling.

Jeongguk's eyebrows furrowed to this.

He's anxious, but why-

Abruptly Namjoon closes in on Jimin, hands on his neck gently with thumbs smoothing over his jaw; the two dangerously close together. Jeongguk's eyes immediately widens, looking around to see if anyone was around and nearly panicked when he saw a few stares casted to them while they were moving to their destinations.

And Jimin was definitely not having it, "Are you fucking crazy? People are watching-"

"I don't care," Namjoon pleads quietly, the clear desperation in his tone, "Please Jimin just a few minutes. Please!"

Okay, it's getting too far.

Jeongguk immediately stepped in upon the stuble raise in Namjoon's voice, wrapping a hand on his forearm with a strong tug from his hold on Jimin. Namjoon finally glances at him, pupils dilating upon the realization of his own brother standing there, but he still didn't move away.

And Jeongguk's grip didn't falter either.

"Kook what are you- Just..... Please don't get involved-"

"Stop," Jeongguk hoarsely growls upon reading Namjoon's lips, voice in a deep husk with his grip tightening, "Let. Him. Go..... Now."

Jimin's eyes falls onto him, shocked that he just spoke more than one word, even if it were gritted out in short cuts. The last time he heard Jeongguk speak so much was when he was having his episode, and now.... He just spoke out of his own will.

Now it raised a bit of curiosity as to what speaking deficiency Jeongguk has specifically.

Namjoon's own shock was reflected as well, too awe struck that his grip did loosen on Jimin and Jeongguk guided his hand down and away from him. The ravenette still didn't stand down after that, only stood there to make sure things didn't get out of hand between the too.

Then again, even if he wanted to, he wouldn't dare move because of Jimin's small hand gripping the lower end of his blazer tightly, concealed away from the eyes of the crowd.

Jeongguk's not only doing this for Jimin, but for the sake of his brother as well. Who knows how fast the word would travel if Namjoon were to do something so reckless right here right now.

His reputation will be crushed within seconds if he doesn't control himself.

It seems as though any reckless though flew from Namjoon's mind as he just stood there as well, only left staring at his brother, blinking a few times before glancing at Jimin and then back to him, "You two are... Going out... Together?"

"Not in the way your mind is probably working up right now," Jimin huffs, his grip on Jeongguk's shirt tightening, "If you so desperately want to know, we decided that we should probably practice at the rink since our event is in the following two days."

The lie was so smooth that Jeongguk actually believed Jimin was telling the truth, just for a second, but then he realized they already practiced earlier today. It didn't make sense to Jeongguk why Jimin would have to lie right now, but then again to avoid Namjoon thinking the worse possible scenario, that was probably a wise move.

As the words registers in Namjoon's head, his features fell; now left glancing to Jeongguk. The brother relaxes upon seeing his unease gaze and only nods, sending him a small smile with a nod to the ball room for him to head back inside.

They need to end this little reunion soon, for all of their own sake.

Namjoon knows that. That's why even after he hesitates, he doesn't say another word before he only nodding back to him with one last longing stare to Jimin - who obviously looked anywhere else besides him- and goes back to the direction of the ball room without turning back.

And it felt like the world was finally moving again.

Jeongguk didn't want to spare a second long here, especially to take off a bit of attention from them, so he glances to Jimin as a hint to lead the way.

Literally right when Jimin was about to do just that, a shrilled shriek calls out to Jeongguk's name from behind them.

The ravenette whirls his head back, the voice being loud enough for him to hear and quite familiar. Heading towards the stairs is a distressed Felix holding onto a giggling Taehyung and Minho on either side of him, who are both clearly having trouble standing as they cling onto the small boy.

They're definitely not okay right now, sober wide, and judging by Felix's distressed features he's on his own in this.

"They're completely wasted and - Argh! Just come help me please!"

Jeongguk didn't need to be told twice, immediately rushing over towards the three to help his teammates and his teammates brother while Jimin stood there with parted lips.

"Hey! What about-"

"Sorry!" Was all Jeongguk squeaked as he helped his Minho, who immediately draps on his body with a giddily smile and kissy noises to his cheek, helping him to the elevator while Felix helped Taehyung.

Jimin stomps his foot on the ground, face now read in rage; "Wait, you're just going to leave me here- For fuck sakes- I don't need this- WAIT! Shit, hold the damn door!" And quickly Jimin rushes after them, stomping the way there.

Definitely the two aren't going to have the easiest night as they hoped.
