Chapter 4
Manami's POV
Once I got home, I headed straight to the training area to practice some things that needed clarification on. First of all, controlling how much power goes into how fast I go, and just so much more that bothered me from today.
As I was working on all of those things, I heard a bang from my room which scared me a bit. Nobody was home, so how could something just fall out of nowhere? I left the training room, and slowly walked around my house with caution.
When I reached my room, I slowly opened the door, only to find that my room was trashed, and the window was broken. I sighed, using my ink to put everything back into place, and fix the window. Once I was done with that, I headed to the kitchen, seeing that my hair was quite a bit purple.
I have this awesome way to tell if I'm running low on ink or not. Normally, I have a pretty purple hair color which looks something like this:
The purple only shows when I start to run low on ink. If I'm full on ink and don't need to drink any, my hair is pitch black and really shiny. If my hair is fully purple though, it means 1 of 3 things; 1, I cancelled out my quirk, 2, Aizawa cancelled out my quirk, or 3, I haven't dranken any ink which means I'm gonna slowly get weaker as time goes on.
I finally got into the kitchen, only to feel a strange aura. I gulped, turning in circles to see if I could find who was in the house. Just as I heard a footstep, I turned, and used ink vortex out of shock. I heard it hit whoever was in the house.
"Manami, what was that for?" Coldfront asked as she walked in with groceries. I gasped, racing over to help my poor aunt.
"I'm so sorry, Violet! I didn't mean to, um, here! I'll take these!" I said, picking them up. "How was work?"
"It was...interesting..." Coldfront said, setting her things down. I tilted my head as I put stuff away, hearing her continue. "I bumped into your mother after taking care of a bank robbery."
"What?" I asked, whipping my head around to face her. "What did she say? What did she want?"
"Well, we talked for a while, and she talked about how she had heard that you and your sisters left your father. She wanted to know your whereabouts." Coldfront said, as I sighed.
"You didn't tell her, did you?" I asked, Coldfront also sighing.
"I told her what I knew. I told her that Akari had become a Pro Hero and works in Fukuoka, and since Hiyori snuck out, there had been no sign of her from what I've heard. For all I know, she probably lives on the streets." Coldfront said, giving me a sad look. "And I told her that you're staying with me whilst you attend UA."
"Violet, why would you do that?!" I yelled, ink coming from my fists in a fit of anger.
"Manami, she's your mother. It doesn't matter if you like her or not!" Coldfront said, before continuing. "Besides, she wanted to know because..."
"Because why?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"Because she wants to see you again."

I groaned, sitting in my desk. I couldn't sleep last night thanks to what Coldfront told me. I thought of what she could possibly mean by her wanting to see me again. Was she gonna try to take me with her? Or maybe she wanted to apologize for her random bullshit.
Then again, she could just want to check up on me. I couldn't think about it now, since I was in class, but it still bothered me. It was currently lunchtime, and so I was headed on my way to the cafeteria when I felt someone grab my shoulder.
Since I was a little startled, I flipped the person over, only to see Izuku. I gasped, helping him up, before bowing to him.
"I'm so sorry, you scared me, and my reflexes kicked in, and-"
"Hamadashi, it's okay, really!" Izuku assured, Iida and Uraraka laughing at my panicked state.
"You sure?" I asked, Izuku nodding. I sighed out of relief, smiling.
"Is something bothering you? You seemed kind of out of it during class today." Uraraka told me, making me nervous.
"Y-Yeah, all good. I'm just excited about hero training today." I said, smiling. They all nodded too, and started talking about what they thought it was. I kind of zoned out though, walking behind them. That's when I felt someone tap my shoulder again.
Instead of flipping them in front of me, I simply turned around, only to see Todoroki. I smiled, going beside him, and we both began to walk to lunch.
"It seems like something is bothering you. Did you want to talk about it?" Todoroki asked me out of nowhere. I looked at him, kind of shocked at his question.
"Uh, maybe later, but not right now. I think we should focus on getting something in our stomachs." I told him. He nodded as we both got in line.
"We should sit next to each other." I told him, Todoroki nodding. When we had gotten our food, we sat down across from each other, and talked continuously about different things, such as villains, quirks, and just some overall funny things that Todoroki took seriously, but it really wasn't.
After lunch, we headed back into the classroom, talking with others until our teacher walked in.
"I am...coming through the door like a normal person!" He said. It was none other than All Might, and ooh boy was there gossip going around the classroom. I just stayed quiet, trying not to think about yesterday.
"...and today we'll be focusing on this!" All Might yelled, holding up a card with the word 'Combat' on it. I hummed, kind of excited for this one.
"And you'll be doing it with these!" He continued, pressing a button. Just like that, 3 slots on the wall start to come out, revealing suitcases. 'Convenient.' I thought, looking at them.
"Inside these suitcases are your hero costumes, based on your quirk registrations, plus the requests you put in before school! After you change meet at Ground Beta!" All Might instructed. All of the class cheered a 'Yes sir' before heading to the changing rooms.
Oh boy, changing is a joy.
