THE HUNGRY EARTH

WE MADE OUR WAY into a tunnel, myself leading the way and the doctor and Amy behind me

"What about now can you feel it now?" The doctor asked as we walked

"Honestly I've got no idea what your on about." Amy said

I continued walking as the doctor and Amy stopped momentarily, say something that I couldn't hear, them catching up

"What about you Alex, can you feel the ground ." The doctor asked

"It's 10 years into the future, maybe this how the ground just feels" I Said as the doctor shot me down

"Good thought but no it doesn't, hear that, drill in starting up mode." The doctor took out his sonic and overtook me

"Afterwards if a recent seismological shift in blue grass." The doctor read something off his sonic, pocketing it whipping out some blue grass

"You kept that." I asked as the doctor placed it in his month before spitting it out

"Have you always been that disgusting?" Amy asked as we all stopped looking at the doctor

"No that's recent." The doctor said

"Really" I teased as the doctor rolled his eyes at me

"What's in here" the doctor said as the three of us walked into what looks like an control room.

There stood a women at a computer.

"Hello." The doctor said as we were walking towards her

"Who are you." She asked while taking her glasses off

"What are you going here, and what are you wearing." She asked referring to me and Amy

"We dressed for Rio." The both of us said

"Ministry of still, earth and science! New ministry, quite big, just merged." The doctor said showing the women his physic paper before placing it back in his pocket

"Lots of responsibility, don't ask to talk about it, what is this." The doctor asked as he looked at the computer

" none of your business." The women said as she moved away

"What are these readings." I asked as me and the Doctor looked at the computer

"Under the soil." The women said.

I turned around the find her on the floor

"The drills up and running again." A older man with white hair and a red jacket came in

"Who are these people." The man asked as the doctor left my side to look at the dirt, while Amy looked around herself

"I'm amy, over there is my sister Alex." I gave a slight wave while looking at the readings on the computer, they didn't look normal

"And he's the doctor, we're not staying are we doctor." Amy said while leaning up against the forklift

"Why is there a big patch of dirt on your floor." The doctor asked, I turned around and looked at the floor

"We don't know, it appeared over night." The women replied

"Good right you all need to get out of here very fast." The doctor said as he got up, pushing past me and started to mess with the computer

"Why" the women asked

"What's you name?" The doctor replied

"Nasreen." She said

"Look at the reading nasreen." The doctor said as I looked at them too

"The readings, it's moving." I Said as the doctor nodded his head messing with the computer

"That's specialised equipment, get away from it." The man said

"Doctor the dirt is steaming is that a good thing." I turned around to find Amy crouched by the dirt

"It's shifting when it shouldn't be shifting." The doctor said

Just then the place started the shake and brake from underneath us

"It knows we are here, everyone out." The doctor screamed as he grabbed nasreen hand and they both ran, I was not far behind.

"Tony" nasreen shouted, they both stopped and I turned around to see the man who's name was obviously Tony getting swallowed by the ground and Amy trying to help him

"Stay away Amy." The doctor shouted but she didn't listen and tried to help him, just then the ground disappeared from under Amy and she was getting sucked in

"Doctor help me, it's pulling me down." Amy struggles to stay above ground.

Me and the doctor launched ourselves at her as he grabbed her hand I started digging around the dirt so she wouldn't sink

"The grounds got my legs." She shouted as I continued to dig. I felt something grab my arm, I shouted slightly as the doctor looked and me with concern

"Hold onto her doctor I got this." I pulled myself from it's grasp landing on my ass.

I looked at the door to see Tony and nasreen leaving.

"Stay calm, keep hold of my hand don't let go."

"Your drill shut it down." I shouted as I followed them out of the room.

I started flipping switches as I heard the drill slowing down. I ran into the room where Amy was sinking and the doctor lost his grip. He fell back slightly and i ran to his side, I grabbed Amy's hand while the doctor grabbed her other hand

" hold on, they are shutting the drill down." I Said as Amy shook her head

"No." The doctor said

I got on my knees so I was able to reach Amy as she continued to sink

"I can't hold on." Any shouted

"You can!" I shouted back

"What's pulling me, what's under the earth, I don't want to suffocate down there." Amy looked into the doctor eyes, tears forming

"You won't, Amy concentrate."

"Don't you give up." The doctor shouted

"Tell Rory." Amy was cut off by the earth swallowing her, the doctor let go and started digging. My hand was still in clasp with her, but she was pulling me down with her.

The doctor looked at me and wrapped his arms around my waist

"Alexia let go please, I'm not losing you both." I shook my head tears forming in my eyes.

My hand was submerged in the dirt. The doctor took one hand from around my waist and placed it on my wrist, pulling my hand from the dirt, we both landed on the floor, the doctor hugging me from behind as I watched my own sister be taken away from me.

The doctor got up, leaving me go and sonic the dirt with his screwdriver

I blocked out the sound as I hugged my knees, my head resting on them, it was like river all over again
