Season 1 Finale: Confessions

A/n: Yep, you read the title right! This will be the last chapter in Season 1 of Denouement High, but fear not, my darlings! This story will have a second season! Anyway, I hope you enjoy the last part of Season 1!

"Fiona, Carmelita, what are you doing here?" I asked, walking a few steps towards them before Quigley grabbed my hand and lightly pulled me back. "What are we doing here? What are you doing here, Dusk? From what I heard, you used to be in homeschool, where you really belong!" Carmelita sneered. Everyone in the banquet hall stared at me with wide eyes. "Who cares if she was in homeschool? That doesn't make her any less of a human being!" Violet stood up along with Veronica, Klaus, Duncan, and the others.

"Aww, look at that! A couple of cakesniffers are standing up for their cakesniffing friend!" Carmelita cackled. "You're a couple of biscuiteaters!" Fiona laughed. Carmelita looked over at Fiona and, grabbed her by the strap of her dark green dress, and whispered something to her. "No, Fiona and Carmelita! You're the cakesniffers, and you have no right to say that to Dusk!" Veronica said, walking to the dance floor and grabbing my other hand. My other friends joined us on the dance floor, and we all held hands and looked at Carmelita and Fiona dead in the eyes.

"B-but, h-how? Where did you all come from?" Carmelita stuttered, stunned by how many friends had my back. "You catch more bees with honey than you do with vinegar, Carmelita. And you used vinegar," I smiled. Father stepped out of the dark purple lights and walked towards Carmelita and Fiona, the same with Uncle Jacques and Mrs. Quagmire. "I must ask you to leave the premises immediately," I heard Father say to the two girls. The girls protested for a moment before finally giving up and walking out of the banquet hall.

"You alright?" Ava and Veronica asked. "Yeah, I'm fine. It felt good finally standing up to Carmelita and Fiona," I smiled. "I'll bet. I know Carmelita can be a big pain, but never did I imagine that Fiona would side with Carmelita," Klaus shook his head in disbelief. "Well, now that they're gone, what should we do?" I asked, looking at the large circle of friends. "Let's dance!" Joey and Sander shouted. The music started up once again, and it was a fast song, and we all started dancing the night away.

"Hey, Dusk? Can I talk to you for a moment?" Quigley asked. I nodded, and we walked off the dance floor towards one of the corners of the hall. "What is it?" I asked. He let out a small sigh, and I was worried he was going to tell me something bad. But then a smile formed on his face, and I knew that I had nothing to worry about.

"L-look, I know what happened at the Halloween party between us was awkward, and we were both pretty embarrassed by it, but I need to admit something to you," he started off. I knew exactly where this was going. "Dusk, after that game of Spin the bottle, I thought that maybe the kiss between us was just a one-time thing, but after a long while of thinking, I realized that I have feelings for you," he admitted.

I started smiling and looked down at the ground for a moment before reconnecting my gaze with his. "Quigley, I've liked you ever since you protected me from Carmelita on the first day of school. I feel the same about you," I smiled. Quigley's cheeks became a bright pink under the dark purple lights, and without a second thought, I crashed my lips onto his, and we shared a tender kiss, not caring if anyone was watching.

"Was that okay?" I asked when we pulled apart. "Yeah, better than okay," he grinned. We walked back onto the dance floor. But, the moment I stepped back onto it, I started to feel slightly dizzy, but it quickly subsided. Quigley and I held each other and spun around on the dance floor with the others, and we were having the best night of our lives. Then, the dizziness spell came back, and my vision became slightly blurry. I could faintly see Quigley taking notice of what was happening to me, and I could hear him say something to me, but all that I could hear was muffled voices.

My legs gave out underneath me, and I fell to the ground, the music still playing while everyone looked over at me and wondered what happened to me. I felt Quigley hold me in his arms, and the last thing I remembered before blacking out was this,

"SOMEBODY HELP! SOMEBODY HELP PLEASE!"

To Be Continued...
