***Third Person***

Ayana stood shocked. Staring at the person before her. It was Rin. But not Rin. The Ryokō demon had possessed him. It was so hard for her to fully process this though. Rin still looked the same. But those blood red eyes gave it all away. So many things were being fumbled around Ayana's mind.

The idea that Rin was truly being possessed. How did he even get possessed? And out of all the people the Ryokō demon could have chosen...

Why Rin?

"Ayana... Isn't that..." Kina muttered with terrified eyes, "the Ryokō demon?"

"Yes... It is..." Ayana confirmed.

"Huh?" Hoshi now said, "this... Is Ryokō?" Hoshi was shocked by this.

"The Ryokō demon is possessing our friend, Rin." Ayana told Hoshi to answer his unsaid questions.

Hoshi's eyebrows furrowed. It angered him that Ryokō had been possessing people. However, as Hoshi watched Rin standing in front of them all, something occurred to him. He saw the black tail flickering behind Rin, the pointed ears and canine teeth, and the red sheathed sword strapped behind his back.

That's when he knew.

"Ayana-chan?" Hoshi said, "isn't this... Satan's child?!"

Ayana was silent for a moment then said, "yeah... What of it?"

Before Hoshi could say anything else, he was cut off by the laughing of the possessed Rin.

"Hahaha! Isn't it great?! I was just wandering around that little resort up there, and I found this kid standing around all grumpy. Quite a good catch I must say~" Rin plucked on his collar with a smug grin, "it was even Satan-sama's kid!  So it's been quite a good day for me. I can feel his immense power surging through me! Hahaha!"

Rin then opened his arms out, and his blue flames with black smoke engulfed both of his fists as he continued to laugh like a maniac; and his red eyes were filled with gleam.

Ayana, Kina and Hoshi all watched Rin wide eyed, and with horror.

"You can use his flames too?" Ayana asked, shocked.

"Why yes I can, Ayana~" The Ryokō demon in Rin's body replied, "it's not that hard you know"

Ayana gritted her teeth and growled in a deathly tone, "let him go."

Rin glanced at Ayana with his red eyes and said with a fake pout, "what if I don't wanna?"

"Then I'll make you." She replied.

"And how will you do that?"Ayana paused. What could she do? How was she actually supposed to make the Ryokō demon release Rin? Ryokō then smirked in Rin's body,"heh. You don't know, do you? Hahahaha!"

As Rin continued to laugh like an insane person, Hoshi walked beside Ayana and whispered,

"Ayana." She glanced to her side and saw Hoshi's serious yet determined look. He glanced at Rin then motioned his head to the opposite side. Ayana looked the direction he was gesturing and saw the ancient runes at the cave. She then looked back at Hoshi and he whispered, "distract him for me."

It took Ayana a moment before realizing. The Ryokō demon was here. If Hoshi did the ritual now; he could get this mountain back. But would it also free Rin?

"Will it work?" Ayana asked Hoshi. He stayed silent for a moment, then said,

"I really hope so. Once I do it, it may get Ryokō out of balance and let your friend go. But we can only hope." He stood up slightly straighter and said, "I'm counting on you, Ayana-chan"

Ayana slightly nodded, and Hoshi slowly crept towards the cave without Rin noticing. Ayana then looked at Rin who was now calming down his laughter. She was about to walk towards him, until she felt a hand on her shoulder.

Kina now stood beside her. She watched Rin with determined green eyes, like Hoshi, and said,

"I heard everything. Leave him to me."

"Kina you don't-"

"Please Ayana." Kina then looked at Ayana with a pleading expression, "it's my job to protect you. I'm your familiar after all."

Kina gave Ayana one last grin, then made her way towards Rin.

"Hey you!" Kina yelled, which caught the possessed Rin's attention, "how bout you give me back our friend?"

"Hmm" Rin put his hand on his chin and started to stroke an imaginary beard. Then said, "how bout... No."

"Thought you'd say that." Kina smirked. She then pulled something out of the pocket of her black vest. She held the object in her fist out towards Rin and said, "did you say you wanted something back? I could make a deal with you for it."

Rin remained silent as Ayana stood confused. What was Kina holding? She wondered.

Then Ayana remembered. That rock. The rock that belonged to the Ryokō demon that Kina took to Ayana. But didn't Ayana have it this whole time? Ayana put her hand over her pocket that should have contained the rock. However, it wasn't there. Ayana looked down at her black cloak, then at Kina with wide eyes.

"Kina. When did you...?"

"When I tackled you out of the way like two seconds ago." Kina glanced back at Ayana. She was now tossing the small grey and black rock up and down into her palm,"Okay, well not two seconds ago. Maybe a little longer than that... But you get what I'm saying."

Kina then looked back at Rin who was now glaring at her. "So," said Kina as the right corner of her mouth lifted into a small smirk, "you wanna let Rin go now? I could possibly give you back this little thing... Whatever this is..."

Rin just stared at Kina for a while with no emotion. Until he finally smirked back, "you're a smart one... For just a lowly shape shifting demon." He then started to walk towards Kina. She didn't dare to take her eyes off him, "but don't think I don't know what you're trying to do."Kina blinked at his statement."You thought I didn't see you there, Hoshi?" Rin called. Hoshi was now at the cave. He was facing the ruins with his arms opened. Candles were dimly lit around him. He turned his head and looked at Rin wide eyed. Rin gave him a devious smirk, "you thought you could secretly take this place back? Like hell I'd let you."

Without anyone even realizing it. Rin was already in front of Hoshi. He grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and threw Hoshi out of the cave. Hoshi's back then hit the bark of a tree, and he fell to the ground with a grunt.

"Hoshi!" Ayana and Kina both yelled.

Hoshi slowly got up and gave Rin a glare.

"How was Rin so fast?" Ayana asked herself,"I've never seen Rin ever go that speed."

The possessed Rin just smirked though, "this kid has a lot of potential you know." He told Ayana, "he probably just hasn't learnt to use it yet. So I'm just using his abilities to its fullest!" He walked out of the cave, passing Hoshi who was struggling to get up. Rin glanced down at him for a second, then muttered, "weak."

Ayana clenched her teeth and fists. She was outraged. Ryokō was despicable. She didn't want anything to do with this demon. She hated him. And him possessing Rin made it even worse. Kina was going to make a deal with Ryokō to let Rin go if she gave him back that rock. But neither of them knew what this stone even did. Why was it so important to Ryokō? And was it dangerous? If so... How dangerous? And it most likely was dangerous. What would happen if they gave it back to that Ryokō demon? Would they be the cause of destruction? Was this worth the risk?

"Hey snowy." Ryokō in Rin's body said as he looked at Kina,"you gonna give my stone back to me?... Or do I need to take it?"

"First of all. The name's Kina... And if you free Rin, then yes. You can have it."

Rin remained silent for a moment. He looked down at himself. He was thinking about it. He was making a decision whether or not to free Rin. He muttered,

"Satan-sama's kid huh... Satan-sama's power..." Rin created a ball of blue flames in his palm. He looked at it for a while. He then looked up at Kina with haunting red eyes,"letting this kid out of my clutches means losing so much power. I'd rather keep him."

"Rin's not something you can just keep!" Ayana yelled, frustrated.

"Hmm?"

"So you don't want this precious thing of yours back?" Kina asked, holding the small rock in her hand.

"Oh I want it back," Rin replied, "I'm just gonna take it back by force so I can keep both!"

Rin then ran straight for Kina. She jumped into the air and quickly dropped the rock back into her pocket. She then engulfed herself in white smoke and transformed into a large falcon. Kina flew at Rin, however he ducked out of the way. Kina flew back around and attempted to attack again. Then, Rin grabbed the sheathed sword behind his back and whacked Kina away. She screeched, and rolled to the ground. She transformed back into her human form, grabbing her side, and was about to get up again, until a shadow flew over her.

Kina looked up seeing Ayana jumping over her and running towards Rin with her sword in hand. Rin dodged her. Ayana skidded to a stop as she past him with a glare.

"Why are you doing all of this?" Ayana asked.

"What?" Rin asked. Still keeping his smile.

"All of this! Taking Hoshi's home. Possessing people. All of it... Why?"

Rin was silent for a moment and said, "I may possibly stop, if you give me back that stone of mine."

"Then why won't you tell us what it will do?"

"Why do I need to tell you?"

"Will it harm others?"

"If I want to use it like that, it could."

"Then no. We won't give it."

"Then I won't give you back this Satan spawn."

Ayana glared at him. Then let out a frustrated sigh. She then saw Kina in the form of a white tiger running towards Rin. She pounced at him, but he dodged again. Kina growled in her tiger form at Rin. Then turned back to her human self.

"Come on you two." Said Rin,"we both want something from each other. So why don't we just trade?"

Ayana and Kina exchanged glances. Kina shook her head. They couldn't give this rock now. Who knows what Ryokō will do when he has this stone. Ayana then glanced towards Hoshi. He was doing the ritual again. If Ayana and Kina could keep Ryokō distracted long enough, Hoshi could get his home back and Ayana and Kina could get Rin back.

Rin then sighed and mumbled, "You guys are really getting on my nerves."

Rin then ran towards Ayana and Kina. They both dodged him, but it looked like Rin was more after Kina; since she had his stone. The two fought for a while. Ayana watched, waiting for the right moment to come in.

When they finally both jumped back. Rin was looking preoccupied with Kina. So Ayana took this opportunity to attack. She ran with her sword towards Rin. He then noticed her coming at him. However, Rin didn't move. He wasn't even shocked. He smirked. Ayana wondered why for a moment, then it hit her. She stopped when the tip of her katana was at Rin's neck. They were both frozen there. Rin started to laugh.

"Have you finally realized Ayana? It took you long enough! Hahaha" Ayana glared at him as he continued, "yeah. This is Rin's body. You can't hurt me! Cause if you do, you'd just be hurting him! Hahahaha!"

Ayana lowered her sword down and clenched her teeth. She didn't know what to do. She couldn't do anything right now. This was Rin.

Hurry up Hoshi. Ayana thought. Please.

Kina was starting to creep behind Rin.

"Now then." Said Rin,"I can do whatever ever I want with you two."

Kina pounced, but Rin caught her behind him by the wrist, and threw her far across the forest."Kina!" Ayana yelled. However Ayana felt a hand grab her ankle. Rin spun her around and said,

"Off you go!" And Ayana went flying.

Ayana crashed into the ground and skidded across. She pushed herself back up. Breathing heavily. She slowly looked around her surroundings. She was at the area where the wishing well was. Where Hoshi brought Remi to purify her.

She saw white at the corner of her eye. Ayana looked to her right seeing Kina unconscious on the ground.

"Kina!" Ayana said and was about to crawl over to her. But froze, when she saw shoes step beside Kina. Shoes that were engulfed with blue flames. Ayana looked up seeing Rin holding Kurikara, unsheathed in his hand. His ears were longer. His claws were grown out and his teeth were sharper. He knelt down beside Kina and took the stone out of her pocket. Ayana's breath hitched. He now had the stone. What was going to happen? Ayana wondered. But on top of that... Ayana looked around quickly. They were no longer anywhere near Hoshi. He couldn't do the ritual now.

"Shit." Ayana muttered.

"This isn't really that shitty to me." Said Rin with a smile. "More the opposite. Well... What's the opposite of 'shit'?"

Ayana then pulled herself up on her feet. She glared at the person in front of her. She had to find some way to get Rin near that cave again... But how?

"You know Ayana..." Said Rin, "you both weren't very cooperative... That wasn't very nice. Well, little snowy here seemed to have got what she deserved." He kicked Kina's side as she laid unconscious. Ayana winced. "But you Ayana..." He chuckled as blue flames and black smoke engulfed him. He flexed his hand in and out showing his long claws and said,

"You need another punishment."
