History:
Uscea is an old country in the sea hard to reach due to being surrounded by underwater cliffs. It's said many ships of conquerors and discoverers have sunken there. It was first reached by British settlers who've made their way to the United States. They build up an empire that ruled the country for centuries until it was forcefully overthrown by a rebellion. This resulted in a brutal civil war claiming hundreds of lives, with many refugees trying to find shelter in the untouched areas of the land, such as Starfell Forest. In the end, a democracy was built up in Uscea. It is said Uscea was a cradle of magic in ancient times, thus having a long history of burning witches and other people associated with magic use. Old remains of this are the so-called crests that are either inherited or randomly manifest in humans by a rare 1/100.000 chance.
Climate:
Uscea is marked by maritime, temperate and subtropical oceanic climate, causing it to have rather mild temperatures throughout the year, usually ranging from 10°-26°C during the day and 0°-14°C at night. Given that the country is very far from the continents (and from the Pole), Uscea does not experience real heat waves in summer or cold waves in winter. In winter, cold air comes from Canada, causing the temperature to drop barely below zero in the winter months. In autumn and winter, rains (or snow fall) are frequent and abundant. It's usually also very windy in Uscea, with the winds being strongest in the period between November and March. Due to abundant rains, the landscape and vegetation of Uscea is very green and blossoming. Uscea also sees a lot of sun throughout the year. From July to September, the ocean is not particularly warm, yet may be acceptable for swimming for those who are not sensitive to the cold. The water temperature is around 23°C around summer.

It is covered by dense lush green mixed forests and possesses a multitude of clear-watered lakes, springs and waterfalls. In the more rocky areas, there are plenty of naturally formed caves and ravines. Despite that, the soil on this island is fertile and allows different kinds of vegetation to bloom here.
