Appearance:

Shurax is a slim-built boy of average height with short hair being white in the front parts and black in the back ones. Some strands surround his soft face and fall over his forehead. He has a piercing in his lip and black earrings in both of his ears (lobe). As per usual for demons, he has pointed ears and red eyes and his skin is noticably paler than the one of others. He wears a wide gray t-shirt with black and white stripes forming a "ring" around his shoulders, torn, gray-blue jeans and worn-down sneakers. His horns are black and bent inwards.

Personality:

Shurax is extremely quiet and does not like to talk to strangers or people in general. He's usually alone and avoids conversation, disliking to get asked personal questions. People usually end up being fed up trying to speak to him as he mostly doesn't respond to them, just staring at them without saying anything at all. This weirds most people out because they think he's a crackpot or mute, even though Shurax just doesn't know what to reply or generally doesn't want to talk to anyone at the moment. He's highly mistrustful, keeping his distance to people, preferring to be alone in order to not get hurt. He's internally deeply scarred and doesn't want to get too attached to anyone because he fears they might betray him. He's known to dislike human nature and the way they're getting attached to probably toxic people or desperately need others in their lives in order to be okay. However, he does trust Assaku as they both share this immense fear of betrayal. He's also very insecure, although trying his hardest to cover that up with calmness and reticence. He flat-out rejects speaking about his past or practically anything that's related to himself with anyone other than Assaku. When he is smiling, he onstantly looks away so others can't see it, because he associates smiling with the displeasure of those around him, since he's been beaten for it by his stepmom. However, he does have a more open-hearted side he shows when being with a trusted person, speaking his mind or talking about himself when asked, also trying to be with them when they feel bad. He's flustered when he receives compliments because he isn't used to them. He has difficulty to talk about his feelings and appears awkward when doing so. Having lived in solitude for a while, he genuinely doesn't feel comfortable striking up a conversation with anyone. It's also seen that he is a kind and compassionate individual, giving food and drink to homeless people because "he can relate to them", according to his own statement. When he feels nervous, he starts stuttering, being startled by his own quickening heartbeat. That indicates he has romantic feelings for Assaku. He is also very polite when it comes to basic manners and takes over service voluntarely.

Past:

Shurax father was a strong alcoholic and unfaithful to his wife. During a business trip and a stay in a hotel, he impregnated a work colleague after having had a drunk one-night stand. The pregnant woman then dumped her new-born boy on the baby daddy and disappeared from the field, never to be seen again. Shurax' father then had to explain to his wife that he cheated on her and she now had a kid that wasn't her biological son, which led to a divorce on the spot. Because the father had a drinking issue, he was denied costudy, which left Shurax being stuck with his now ex-wife, a woman he had zero connection to. When he grew up, he looked nothing like his father and more like the woman he cheated with, which caused his step mother to despise him. Being a narcissist as well, she only kept Shurax for the child support payments his father had to make, but she never spent a cent of the money she received on Shurax and instead used it for herself only. She didn't even buy him clothes, all the clothing he had were donations. He ended up deteriorated and underweight while she was fat and had expensive clothes, purses and make-up. She used his poor looks to pressure his Dad to pay even more child support, which he did, but Shurax himself never benefitted from it. The food he received was mostly already expired, which caused him to become sick with food poisoning, diarrhea and stomach ache quite a lot. He puked a lot and just felt ill most of the time. She also didn't pay for education, which is why Shurax can neither read nor write, let alone calculate.
When he turned 18, the child support payments stopped. Since he was an only child, his step mother had no use for him anymore and threw him out onto the streets like a mangy dog. At that point in his life, he changed drastically in point of personality and behavior, turning into a demon. He cowered in corners, begging for food or money just to survive, but the people treated him like filth. Some beat him up because he looked scruffy, not to say disgusting, others just ignored his cries for help. However, one day, there was that lady, Ayaka Yukimi, that noticed and helped him. She took him home and gave him fresh clothing and food, giving him the possibility to "polish" himself so he would no longer look squalid. However, Miss Yukimi was a high-ranked captain of the demon hunter organization, so as she found out he wasn't human, her attitude towards him changed. She attempted to kill him by stabbing him with a silver knife, but he managed to teleport away, even if not intentionally. From there on out, he spent his days using his powers to steal from people and break into their houses just to survive. Then, he was found by Assaku, who offered him to come with him and join Black Asylum, which he agreed to after having had a deep conversation with him.
It becomes clear that the only thing that kept Shurax alive during his time as a victim of extreme abuse was his will to live. He wanted to live and see change in his own life, so he forced himself to hold on, even if it was hard. He just didn't want to die.

Relationships:

To Assaku: Assaku is the only person he now trusts. He told him about his past and why he enjoyed isolation, being met with understanding and deep compassion. Assaku shows vulnerability in front of Shurax, which further deepens their mutual trust. Shurax kind of likes spending time with him, seeking him out by himself sometimes and even consoling him when he feels terrible. He said he liked being with Assaku as it had given him happy memories at last and was the change in his life he had long yearned for. He also trusted Assaku because he realized his words and actions were perfectly concurring. Shurax even shows signs of having romantic feelings towards the red-haired, which he however never truly voiced. Assaku helps him avoiding Yukimi as well as he can in return to protect him. When fighting off the demon hunters, Shurax and Yukimi met again, however. Assaku tried keeping them away from one another, but failed as Shurax read her mind, realized she would shoot Assaku as she identified him as the leader of the group, and took the bullet for his friend. He died moments later in Assaku's arms, who was incapable of removing the silver bullet from his body and thus incapable of healing the wound.

Magic and Abilities:

Shurax is one of the rare cases to have three different magic skills by nature, which means he did not learn them, he had them from the very start.
One of them is the skill of Teleportation that allows him to disappear and reappear anywhere he wants within a 500 meter radius just by pure faculty of imagination.
The second one is Telekinesis, an ability that allows him to remotely move any kind of object in sight. This reaches from very tiny things such as pebbles to very big boulders, even cars or fallen trees. The bigger the object he wants to move, the more energy it will require. He mostly uses this technique to remote control weapons, which is why it often got mistaken for Weapon Magic or Metal Magic.
The third one is actual Mind Magic, an infinity force magic that allows him to read the opponents' minds, communicate with them via telepathy and even mind control them. This also allows him to directly influence other people's patterns of thought and even their mental illnesses. 

Weaknesses:

-With Mind Magic being an infinity force, it's only weakness is itself. Regardless of that, it must always be considered that mind-controlling a person takes a lot of concentration. A Mind Magic User can control one person max at a time, which makes it hard to use in a battle against multiple enemies.
