Ereshiki, appearing exclusively in Awakening of the Blood Moon, is a god of death who awoke during the total lunar eclipse night of January 19th 2021. However, unlike other death gods, he had a fairly human appearance, which was due to a difference in his rise. Death gods usually are created from human death wishes, but while every other death god was made from a person wishing someone else to die, Ereshiki was victim of an intense suicide wish. He controls many forms of power, including Dark Matter Magic, Necrokinesis and Ethereal Force.

Appearance:

Ereshiki is a guy of decent size with scarlet red and black spiky hair and a little braid falling over his back. He has a scar over his left eye and on his forehead and eyes of an intense golden color, surrounded by a black sclera. Like demons, he has pointed ears, with one of them having a silver piercing right through it, but he dowsn't have fangs like all demons do. He wears a black overall under a brown coat with wide sleeves, being highlighted with red fire patterns, and wide, gray pants. He has a black tattoo on his right arm.

Personality:

Ereshiki is the personification of laziness. He hangs around in bed all day and sleeps a lot, and he despises getting up, being annoyed when someone forces him to. Basically, Ereshiki is annoyed at everything that isn't eatable, so he turns out to be a rather grumpy, rude and unfriendly contemporary. He hates talking to people and dealing with their problems when he's in 'I give exactly zero fucks about the entity of the world'-mood (which happens a lot). He lacks empathy and basic understanding why people cannot deal with their own problems and solve them alone and why they always need to bother others with their garbage if it is so trivial. He can get angry very quickly and is prone to violence. His laziness however also benefits the others, as he isn't vengeful, powerhungry or megalomaniacal, which usually causes him to mind his own business. Although being a god, he basically never uses the full potential of his power. Ereshiki dislikes wasting energy or time, which is why he wants to get over with things as swiftly as possible, causing him to go from 0 to 100 very quickly. He likes to threaten people and make them fear him. He enjoys seeing the horror in their eyes and smiles over it. He's an open sadist, enjoying to see people suffer or be afraid of him, and he doesn't deny so. Also, he always tends to be brutally honest with everyone.
However, this is mostly just to hide his more vulnerable side. He does have a side thinking that he can never be a saint or hero by the way he is designed to be, as a god of death who is supposed to clothe the world in destruction and pain. He thinks that good things done out of purely self-centered thinking can never be viewed as heroic acts, as the reason always matters. He can't view past his death god persona and just can't identify himself any differently, which shows he doesn't like himself very much. He views his existence as an error and doesn't really know himself what exactly he is, just that death gods and heroes can never be the same people. He thinks that he is meant to be alone and that he just isn't allowed to show any kind of weakness. He hates feeling weak and susceptible, including the idea of people seeing the vulnerability of his, and that's why he hides it so forcefully. He thinks weakness would disqualify him from being a god, because weakness and temptation lead to conflict and abuse of power, as emotions and getting attached to others oftentimes are the core of such weaknesses that cause some to lose their way. Basically, he thinks he can't have friends because he is a god, and a god viewed as quite evil at that. He doesn't understand relationships between individuals as a whole.

Due to his origin, from the moment he was born, he was in terrible emotional pain, containing loneliness, unreturned love, sadness and despair. Especially the unreturned love would turn into hate and apathy towards anyone, trying to move on like that. The nature of the death wish they are born from determines the death god's nature. Most of them are spoken out of rage, hatred or vengeance, which is why most death gods appear inhuman, monstrous, and lusting for destruction and fire. Ereshiki, as being born from a suicide wish, was plagued by constant mental ache. That's why he appeared more human than all the others. Death gods know the circumstances of the wish and feel exactly what the speaker of said wish felt, impersonating these emotions and giving them a platform to rage. Ereshiki was the only one destroying to get someone's attention so they would finally kill him and get him out of this miserable and extremely hurtful pain in his soul. Ever since he recovered from that, he does never want to feel like this again and have others witness him cry, which is also why he tries keeping everyone armlength away from him, as he is really afraid to ever feel this pain again. That's also why he can be empathic to people who are sad.

Past:

The suicide wish that he eventually rose up from was spoken by a boy whose girlfriend used him for good looks on Instagram and social media, but spread rumors and hurtful things about him out into the world, setting her friends off on him so they would make him feel miserable. Eventually, these rumors also reached the boys' friends, who turned away from him until he was all alone. His parents weren't of much help either, the father was never home and the mother only cared about herself; which resulted in him to feel so lonely and crushed that he wanted to die. As he spoke this wish out loudly, it manifested itself as Ereshiki on the night of the Blood Moon.

Relationships:

To Sitri: Ereshiki has a soft spot for Sitri, the one who spared his life during the night of the blood moon and used his Empathy Link to fix his emotional narrowness, even tho it was impossible for Sitri to destroy the memories of having felt that way. He's actually quite fond of Sitri and rarely says 'no' to him.

To Lucifer: Ereshiki respects Lucifer. Not because he is the devil, a rebel against Kami or the leader of the Raucos. Rather, Ereshiki respects his power and determination and thus, although being above him technically, takes orders from him occasionally.

Magic and Abilities:

Ereshiki's main force of magic is Dark Matter Magic, a strong space-magic related but much more advanced type of magic giving him control over dark matter, a mostly invisible matter of space that has much to do with the structure of the universe and forming of galaxies, as it prevents galaxies to be torn apart due to their rotation speed. He can use this matter to create and destroy things, as well as turning them into plasma. Furthermore, he has Fire Magic that allows him to create and cast fire everywhere; Necro Magic, also known as Necrokinesis, anti-healing or degeneration, that allows him to induce cell death in living organisms. Lastly, he can manipulate Aether (Etherial Force), that, just like dark matter, is an invisible celestial element in the atmosphere of the earth and a basic compound of mana and thus magic use.

Dark Matter Magic:

-Annihilation (The user creates a sphere that expands and vanquishes everything it touches or absorbs.)

-Black Armor (By increasing the density of dark matter and forcing it to take shape, the user creates an armor to cover themselves.)

-Dark Laser (The user increases the density of dark matter, making it visible and shooting it at targets. Upon impact, it will unleash a heavy explosion and turn the object it hit into plasma.)

-Corrupted Barrage (The user fires several bullets at a target that create plumes of energy upon impact.)

-Gravity Push (By guiding a fine sum of dark matter towards a target, the Alternate in question can trigger gravitational forces to take effect and increase the amount of pressure bearing down on them.)

-Dark Surge (The user forces the ground in a location they choose to fracture, creating a zone where large amounts of dark energy spill out and stun the target in addition to dealing great damage and pain to them.)

-Reality Fracture (The user can create a dark realm or small antimatter universe which they can trap their enemies in. This will affect their perception and movement. Also, the creator can control everything in this dark universe, eventually being able to create something like a smaller big bang, a very lethal explosion.)

-Wings of Death (The user manifests dark matter into deformed tree branch-like wings that can stab the opponent if in reach.)

-Arcane Air Slash (The user creates a sword of dark matter filled with dark energy and releases charged crescent-shaped blades upon swinging.)

-Eclipse Rage (The user creates black holes in the sky that first absorb everything too close to them before they force them to unleash all absorbed energy in form of black lightning blasts.)

-Deflection (The user creates circular objects in the sky that absorb any attack thrown at them, and then unleash the energy taken via a great, very powerful explosion.)

Fire Magic:

-Raging Blaze (The user summons a sea of black flames that burn everything in their path.)

-Flare Explosion (The user summons several fire blasts that cause devastating explosions and damage.)

-Flame Pillars (The user makes multiple columns of pure fire shoot out of the ground like fiery geysers.)

-Red Sky's Dawn (The user makes blasts of fire rain from the sky.)

-Fire Cloak (The user makes a wall of fire swirl around themselves as a means of protection so everything and everyone touching it gets burned restlessly. It also emits a high amount of extreme heat that will already cause objects closing in to burn up.)

Necrokinesis:

-Death Glare (When activated, the user can induce cell death in the organs, causing the target to die of kidney or heart failure on the spot.)

- Trade (Trades user's wounds with the ones of his opponents, basically enabling them to exchange smaller injuries on the opponent with bigger ones they themselves may have received.)

- Induction (Afflicts the opponent with agonizing pain by inducing necrotic cell death.)

- Core (Allows them to evoke the tissue memory of an organism and any previous injury suffered by them. The Alternate can then inflict these old wounds on their victim by inducing cell death according to the tissue memory of the injury. This can include cuts, abrasions, internal organ damage, and, on occasion, broken bones.)

Etherial Force:

-Aether Starfall (The Alternate sends beams made of aether down from the sky all around the target, making them look like shooting stars crossing the sky rapidly.)

-Absolute Barrier (The user creates a barrier which is almost unbreakable and can block every attack, however, it works both ways, which means that the person hiding behind said barrier will not be able to fire off attacks themselves as they will be blocked by the barrier just as much as enemy attacks.)

-Divine Radiance (This spell functions by forcing out the user's Aether energy to be released or 'unleashed' from their body into a metaphysical manifestation of their power capable of harming anyone within the vicinity of 100 meters in the form of an aura.)

-Celestial Starstrike (The user creates multiple aether projectiles in the sky which crash down on the ground, bombarding everything in their vicinity.)

-Ad Astra (The user absorbs energy from dead stars in the sky and releases it as a strong blow.)

Trivia:

-Ereshiki is the second oldest judging from physical age, but actually the youngest person in Rauco when considering his real age.

-After Cayonim and Sitri, he's the third tiniest male in Rauco.

-Everytime someone says "oh my god", "goddamnit", "gods" or similar in a radius of a few kilometers, Ereshiki will be summoned next to them and he hates when that happens, especially when he used to be asleep right before that and even more so when it was done intentionally.

-Ereshiki actually hates being a god.

-He doesn't want to admit, but he likes cupcakes. The more colorful they are, the more appealing they are to him.

-His name is a combination of "Ereshkigal", a death goddess of Mesopotanian origin, and the japanese word for death, "shi".

-His flower is the black Rose which represents death, sorrow and mourning. The rose itself is a flower often associated with (tormented) love. Since Ereshiki's cause of existence was a person having been tormented and betrayed in a romantic relationship, the black rose being his symbol is more than just fitting.
