"Do you have any ideas, (y/n). You're smart," Natsu asked. I shook my head. "I have no clue at all. I can only hope that this was a one time thing," I replied. The ball was tomorrow and, since Lisanna didn't have anyone to go with, she went with me. It's funny how things turn out if you're not there. But, Natsu still agreed to dance with me. So, yay? I can't possibly imagine how Lucy will feel about that. Their bond would have grown stronger without me there. I'd just get in the way of the pair. Regardless, what's really important is figuring out why this time skip happened.
"It kind of just reset at midnight. Do you think that will happen again tomorrow?" I asked no one in particular. I don't think Natsu would give me a useful answer. "Not sure," he said. Figures... "Well, we can have a look tomorrow. Around midnight time. We might find somebody close by," I stated. Natsu nodded in agreement. "Somebody that isn't in the guild, lurking around the corners. Probably wearing black. Someone who won't be noticed in the darkness." Gray stormed over to our table.
"Why didn't you agree to go with Lisanna, flame brain?" He yelled. "Because Lucy asked and she didn't!" Natsu rebutted. "The man is suppose to ask!" Gray shouted. "Since when, ice princess?" Natsu retorted. Idiots. But, I can't deny it, it's always amusing. "Gray, please bother off. I'm trying to figure something out with Natsu," I stated. Gray gave me a confused. "What are you tryi- wait. How do you know my name?" He questioned. I pointed to Natsu. "Because I'd rather know your real name then call you 'ice princess,'" I replied. Gray wasn't completely convinced, but he let go off the subject. It made sense.
"And as for what we're figuring out... it doesn't concern you," I added. With mild irritation, Gray left the table. I let out a deep sigh and Natsu sat back down. "I guess Lisanna is upset about that. I won't ask your history on her. It's not my place," I told him. Natsu shook his head. "We were really close friends as a kid. She liked playing mums and dad with Happy as the kid. One day, she disappeared without a trace. After we went to a place called Edolas, it turns out she was transported there. Everybody from here then left Edolas, including Lisanna." Natsu explained. Edolas... like an alternative world. I've read about it. That must of been an interesting adventure. And what makes more sense, Lisanna had a child hood crush with she carried to this day.
"That's cute how you were close as kids," I told him. He scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, I guess it is." He laughed awkwardly. "What? Someone embarrassed to be called cute? 'Cause a certain pink haired pyro is going red and it's cute," I teased. His face went as red as Erza's hair. "No words? Point made." This is too good. "Hey Natsu... Where is Happy?" I asked. "He's with Carla," Natsu answered. I gave him a confused look and he pointed towards a girl with blue pig tails. She had a white exceed. I nodded. "Anyways, it's getting late and I need to repurchase a dress. See you tomorrow, Natsu." I said my goodbyes and left the guild hall. I bought the same dress I wore last time and returned home.
*time skip to 8pm February 14th. Year: unknown, guesses 666*
I walked my way to the guild hall: I had already put on my dress and did my hair. Since I wasn't with Lucy, I didn't put any make-up on. I was so relieved. The guild hall doors loomed above me once more; I pushed them open and saw the beautifully decorated hall again. "Alrighty, everybody! Get with your partners, we're putting on a slow song." Mira announced exactly like last time. Somebody tapped on my shoulder. I spun around and saw Natsu. "Wanna dance?" He asked. I rolled my eyes and put my hands on his shoulders. "Why wouldn't I want to dance?" I inquired. Natsu let out a series of ums and ers. "It was a rhetorical question, silly."
I saw Lucy talking to Lisanna. She gave me a dirty look at some point and Lisanna gave me one full of sadness. I guess they're both jealous. I scanned the room - it was two minutes to midnight. I was hoping to find the culprit of the time skips. My eyes stopped when I saw a tall figure cloaked in black. This person certainly wasn't a member of the guild. "Natsu... look," I whispered in his ear. He looked behind him and saw exactly what I did. "It'll be alright," he whispered back. I embraced the dragon slayer. "I hope so, Natsu. I hope so," I murmured.
