In the year 1994 was the year high school ends and most of the losers (who stayed in Derry) would be graduating.

Bill, Katherine, Mike, Stan, Richie, and Eddie were the ones who were graduating from Derry High School.

Katherine had got accepted into Yale, Bill had got accepted into Harvard University but both had the option to go to Colombia.

Bill knew that Yale was Katherine's dream school and he didn't want to hold her back from her dream when she was so close to becoming who she wanted to be. His love for her didn't want to get in the way of that.

She told him regardless that she would have to think about it because if she left for Yale, she'd be in Connecticut and Bill would be at Harvard in Massachusetts which wasn't far but long-distance relationships don't work out especially if you're overworked by work.

It was time for the graduation ceremony. The valedictorian made a speech at the podium while the losers sat close together. The couple sitting next to one another.

As the principal went back to the podium calling each person up for their diplomas. Once Bill and Katherine got theirs and the principal was getting close to finishing calling all the names.

"Hey," Stan nudged Katherine from behind. "Tell him."

Katherine grabbed Bill's hand earning his attention. Tell me what?" Bill asked, hearing Stan. He spoke much more clearly due to him getting a private speech therapist a few years ago. "Is it important?"

"You mean that I decided what I want to do with my life?" Katherine referred to.

"Yeah, that," Bill stated.

"Stan and Eddie said I should go to Yale unless I have a really good reason not to," Katherine answered.

"Well, there isn't any good reason. I mean, I'll miss you but-"

"Actually, there is a good reason," Katherine replied.

"Elizabeth Zink," the principal called.

"Billy..." Katherine began, looking to Richie and Stan who both nodded in encouragement.

"What?" Bill asked her.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the Derry High School class of 1994," the principal announced.

Everyone got up to cheer and throw their graduation caps up but as Bill began to stand, Katherine, stayed sitting and asked him, "Will you marry me?"

Bill sat back down in his seat in shock as Katherine looked in his eyes for an answer.

It was until after Richie yelled, 'party at my house' that everyone left to his house except for Bill and Katherine.

The blond just patiently waited for the boy to speak. How she has the patience for him was beyond Bill.

"Bill?" Katherine questioned.

The boy finally unfroze and spoke, "D-Did I just ask you to marry me?"

Katherine chuckled. "I asked you."

Bill smiled but said, "B-B-But I always t-thought I'd be the one to propose." He cursed himself for his stutter beginning to return now he'd have to work extra hard to get rid of his stutter.

"Well, I beat you to it," Katherine bragged to her boyfriend. "Look, Billy, if you want to be the one-"

"No, no, no, no. This is the '90s. What's done is done. So," Bill took a deep breath. "Okay, you proposed. Hey, we better get to that graduation party."

Katherine still held his hand. "I'd like an answer, Billy."

"And I'm going to give it to you. B-B-But, you know, Kat, it's not every day that a guy gets asked a question like that, and it's not every day I can give you an-"

Katherine silenced him by cupping his face and kissing him. Bill kissed her back deeply, resting his hands on her waist.

Katherine parted from him with a smile causing Bill to ask with a dreamy eyed look. "So you got a ring for me, or what?" he asked.

Katherine giggled before standing up and pulling Bill out of his seat.

At Richie's party, Bill kept talking to Katherine.

Katherine poured punch in a red solo cup. "Kat, listen," Bill began. "I want to be with you more than anything in the world, okay? But I cannot let you give up Yale for me."

"Billy, do you honestly want me to go to Yale?" Katherine asked.

"No," Bill answered.

"Then shut up about it. Colombia is a great school. I'm going to get a great education." She took a sip from her cup before setting it down. "Besides, what good is college without this face?" she asked, squishing Bill's face.

Bill scrunched his nose which Katherine found cute. "It's no good. It's no good at all," he muffled.

"So when do you want to do it?" Katherine asked.

"Do what?" Bill asked.

"Get married, William," Katherine stated.

"Katherine, I don't know. I haven't even had time to think-"

"How about right away?" Katherine asked, pulling Bill past the crowd.

"Right away?" Bill questioned. "Right away when?"

Both of them sat on the bay window. "Bill, we've been dating each other since we were 13. We've both had a chance to be with other people."

"Yeah, I wonder what she's doing," Bill joked.

Katherine lightly his arm. "Do you think we'll be together for the rest of our lives?"

"Yeah, I know we will."

"So do I. We're not like other people, Billy. We're losers. We're weird. Let's just do it. Plus, I want to have time for our honeymoon before college starts."

Bill raised his eyebrows. "A honeymoon, huh?" Katherine nodded. "And on this honeymoon, you and I, we'd probably..."

Right, even Bill's mind is on sex.

"Oh, there's a good chance, yeah," Katherine smirked. "A good chance for sure, Billy."

"Keep talking."

"Let's tell our friends," Katherine said.

Bill stopped her. "No, I don't think we should tell our friends. They're going through a lot right now with graduating and..." He trailed off. "Okay, they're not going through much but come on, Kat. Except for Stan, they're incapable of understanding. I don't think we should tell anyone. You know, until we've figured out what we're going to do."

Katherine frowned. "Bill, you do want to marry me, don't you?"

"Yeah," he answered without hesitancy. "I just I don't want everyone sticking their noses in our business. You know, I mean, this is our lives. This is for us to decide. Okay, promise you won't tell a soul."

"Okay, I promise," Katherine swore. Not to tell his answer. "I kind of like it. It's very Romeo and Juliet."

Being the only one who read that, Bill's eyes widened. "That's why we're not telling anyone."

"Whatever you need," Katherine agreed before grinning. "So are we engaged, or what?"

"Yeah, if you don't open up your big mouth," he told her which she giggled at before kissing him.

"Congratulations, guys," Stan spoke.

Bill parted, looking to Stan who was beside Eddie and Richie. "How?"

"Billy, Stan is congratulating us on graduating. I'm actually surprised Richie graduated," Katherine says, making a 'no' motion behind Bill to the boys.

"We all graduated today and you're hot so I won't say anything about that," Richie says.

"Shockingly."

"Congrats you guys," Eddie told them.

"On graduating," Stan added quickly.

"And the engagement," Richie said making Bill's eyes double and Katherine to make hand gestures as if to strangle Richie. "I didn't know what," he mocked Katherine's 'no' gesture. "That meant."

"You told them you were proposing?" Bill asked his fiancée.

"Before," she replied. "I'm going to kill you, Richie."

"Hasta la vista, Mrs. Denbrough," Richie said, quickly disappearing into the crowd.

"She told us, plus we heard everything because we were sitting behind you guys," Eddie spoke, sitting beside them as Eddie.

"After we left, we were kind of scared you froze up," Stan said to Bill.

"I didn't freeze up," Bill defended.

Katherine made a face. "Well..."

"I was thinking," Bill said. Katherine hummed in fake agreement.

"You guys are so weird. Proposing in the middle of graduation," Eddie stated. "Really?"

"I know, but I love him," Katherine spoke as she looked at Bill with heart eyes. "And I want to be with him till he dies."

"I do already," Bill told her.

Katherine smiled, interlacing her hand with his.

"So when's the wedding?" Stan questioned.

"We kind of discussed that on the way here," Katherine answered.

"We're gonna get married when we're ready," Bill said, pulling Katherine into him.

"And when we're ready, you'll be the first to know," Katherine said to her friends even as Richie approached them with a full red solo cup of punch in his hand. "I love you, assholes."

They all hugged the blond, all laughing when Richie climbed over Bill and Stan to tackle Katherine in a tight hug.
