chapter 6
Galvan's bar n grill
The traffic was light and it had taken no time to reach the small back parking lot of Merlin's trunk. He took a long deep breath and waited a few minutes before stepping out of his civic. Here goes nothing, he told himself. He checked to make sure he looked okay in the rear view mirror before locking the car and walking around to the front of the building. He was glad to see the place busy but not swamped with book lovers, it meant she wouldn't be stuck running things. He was a patient type of guy except for when it came to Jenna.
He walked over to the check out and said hello to Katie while he waited for Jenna to finish up. Once she saw that he was waiting for her, she quickly grabbed her coat and purse. He could tell by the bright smile that she too had been looking forward to their dinner plans. She walked over to him in a casual manner, trying not to appear over excited.
"Good you're right on time. Are you ready?" She asked
"Yes let's go check out this bar and grill." He replied, more than ready to spend some time alone with her.
"Sure, we can walk it's not far at all."
"It sounds good to me, lead the way." He suggested with a simple nod.
She headed for the door with him right behind her. They walked along past a few of the other local shops, passing by a few other couples walking around town. When they got to the third block they saw a small pub with a sign that read Galvan's bar n grill. It looked to be a small building, probably a family owned place.
"Come on it doesn't look crowded, we must have got here at a good time." She told him.
"Sure, I'd rather not have it be a full house." He commented to her.
"You don't like big crowds, do you?"
"I don't mind them but not really, no." He admitted.
"I'm the same way, unless it's my store." She gave him a simple wink.
They walked in the nice little pub, it was painted with green and gold along the walls with a light wood trim. It was comfortable and inviting. There were large black and white photographs decorating the walls they looked to be between the turn of the past century up to the 1930's. He found it to be charming, a nice place to meet with friends. They found a nice quiet booth in the back, perfect for a new couple still discovering each other. The two of them waited a moment before a young girl came to take their drink orders. They both decided to start off with an ice cold beer, perfect on a cool crisp day such as this one.
"How was your day, after you left the book store?" She asked.
"Not bad, enjoyable i'd say." He replied.
"What did you do?" She asked.
"I had coffee and read a lot of the astral projection book. It was a good one, you were right, I liked it."
Just then the waitress came back with the drinks for them, and they placed their food order.
"I'm glad you liked the book." She replied, taking a sip.
"Yes it was a great read." He replied taking a sip of his beer.
"Is something on your mind?" She asked with a concerned look.
"I did want to know, do you remember when you said that my training would begin soon?" He inquired.
"Yes, I do."
"When am I getting trained to hunt these demons?" He asked, wondering how much she knew about it.
"It already has begun."
"What do you mean?" He asked confused by the answer.
