Chapter 48
Waiting a few minutes, ready to take on anything Neil sat there as the black fog slowly rolled under the door to his home. He just sat there waiting for the demon to show his face. Neil didn't care at this point, he had nothing to lose but his life, that was all he had left. Showing no fear in his soul, watching the demon of gluttony take the form of a sadistic looking human with horns and fangs. It looked at him with a bit of confusion.
"Why did you summon me?" The demon asked him.
"Why not, do you have something better to do?" Neil replied with the confidence of a greek god.
"Well no, but most mortals don't sit around shouting to the underworld for a creature that could kill them instantly."
"Now why would you want to do that?"
"Because I have nothing better to do." The demon growled to him.
"Give it a shot." He challenged the demon.
"So you wish to die then?" He asked the mortal.
"You won't but you can try it all you want." Neil told him.
The demon angered by this lack of fear from a mere mortal lunged for him. At the perscise moment the demon warrior leaped up, popped open the cap from the holy water and shoved it in the demons unexpecting mouth. The demon tried to struggle but Neil held the bottle down with both hands shouting a spell to bind the demon from returning to earth for the next thousand years.
Then the unholy creature began to cook and sizzle like bacon as it choked on the holy water for the next five minutes all Neil could hear was the sound of it trying to scream through the gurgling sound of the water until it had turned to nothing more than soot and ashes on his floor, just a few feet from where he had been sitting. The remains smelled of stale garbage and rotting death.
The demon warrior stood back a few feet almost waiting to see if the sinister creature would return, but nothing happened. He grabbed the broom and swept up the remains of the demon of gluttony. He then returned to his seat, proud of himself but not too proud. He thought this whole time he needed someone to tell him how to do it. How to hunt and banish demons. Clearly he just needed to do it on his own. He could feel the inner light radiating from within his soul, it was the best feeling in the world. He knew the next one would require a little more planning. He would work on the next one another time. One demon a day was enough for him to conquer.
