chapter 46
Neil drank a second cup before taking a long hot shower. He knew the best thing for him to do was to be more alert. He had the water as hot as he could with-stand it. He needed to meditate, see if his spirit watcher could help him with this nightmare that had become his life. He quickly dried off, then warming up his mug he searched through the apartment until he found a few candles to help. He knew it was possible to meditate without them, but found it much easier when focusing on the flame. He sat down on his bed and sipped half a cup before taking a slow deep breath and lighting the two white votives he had found.
He began by closing his eyes and concentrating on Adriella. At first attempt nothing happened, strange he thought. It usually didn't take long for him to fall into a meditative trance, but this was different. He wondered if it was from the wine the night before or was he worrying too much?
He shook his head, took another sip of the java and tried again, forcing himself not to get frusterated or upset if the meditation didn't work. He closed his eyes and slowly put himself into a meditative trance, clearing all thoughts of anything but the spirit watcher. After a few minutes had passed she did finally appear to him.
"Is something wrong, warrior?" She asked.
"Everything is wrong. I need your help."
"What is it you need?" She asked him.
"I need help. Jenna my mentor works for the demons. She told me i'm not a demon warrior, that my training was a deception." He explained to her.
"How do you know she's not lying about that, too?"
"You think so?"
"Yes, I know you are the warrior, I can feel it. Perhaps she's trying to pull you from your true path in life?"
Adriella nodded to him as she dissappeared back to wherever it was she resided, and the meditative link had been broken. He jerked out of the trance state he had been in, and took a deep breath.
