Later that afternoon 

                After straightening up around his place, Neil picks up his cell and sends a message to his favorite store owner.

Do you have any plans after work? He texts to her. A few seconds later the phone rings and he glances at the number. It was Jenna's number.

"Hello?" He answers the call on the first ring.

"Hi sweetheart. I'm sorry but I have to close tonight." She spoke as if she were gritting her teeth.

"What? What about Katie? Doesn't she close for you?" He asked disappointed. 

"Not anymore." She growled through the phone.

"What do you mean not anymore?" He replied.

"I had to fire her today." 

"What in the hell for?" He asked, stunned to hear such news.

"I caught her stealing money from the cash register." Jenna replied.

"Wow, I'd never have suspected that, not from her." 

"I felt the same until I saw her do it." She replied.

"What did she say when you caught her?" 

"The girl told me she didn't remember doing it. Does she think I'm that stupid?" Jenna asked rhetorically.

"She even cried when I fired her. I adored having her here but I can't tolerate that from anyone." Jenna explained, trying to calm her tone.

"Do you think it was a demon?" 

"I don't know if it was or not, but the demons encourage sins, they can't force it on a person. We have free will. They can tempt a human."

"What if she'd been possessed?" Neil asked, trying to make sense of it all.

"I don't think it was the demon of greed, If that is what you're getting at. She didn't take more than a hundred bucks." 

"Are you sure it wasn't that demon?" He asked.

"Why are you defending her for stealing from me?" Jenna replied raising he voice.

"Honey, I'm not saying that, I'm just hoping you're wrong and maybe there's a logical or supernatural explanation for it." He replied trying not to upset her any further.

"Sometimes, it's not a demon. There are times people just do the wrong thing and she didn't act possessed at all." 

Neil waited a second and thought it over before responding.

"Do you have security footage of the incident?" He asked in a neutral tone.

"Yes, why?" She replied.

"Tonight when you close the bookstore, check the tapes. Just to make sure. If I'm wrong I'll let it go, please?" He begged her. Katie was such a sweet kid he hated to see her get fired, especially if it wasn't entirely the girl's fault.

"If I check the security tape and you're wrong, promise me you'll stop assuming it was underworld influences?" Jenna asked firmly.

"I promise, as the Demon Warrior and as the man who loves you." He replied.

"Fine, I'll check the tape. I've got to go. Call me tomorrow. I love you." 

"Yes, of course. I love you too." He replied then clicking the disconnect button he thought, lord help me if I ever make her that mad, wow.
