chapter 26
When they reached home, dinner was served and the entire family ate in silence before everybody retired to their bedrooms.
Ariel and Grey took a quick shower before they both settled on the bed.
“Are you feeling any better now?” Ariel asked.
“Yes, a lot better now,” Grey said, smiling.
“That's good,” Ariel said as she kissed his cheeks. “Tell me about your uncle,” she said.
Grey looked at her. “Why do you want to know about him?” he asked.
Ariel shrugged, choosing to keep silent.
“I now realize that my Uncle never cared about me after everything my Mom told me. But prior to this, I thought he cared, even though he does not express it,” Grey said. “Anytime I captured Angels, he constantly told me how proud he was. I thought that was the definition of care but I was so wrong. I never knew he was using me. He made me train for hours. Even when other demons had given up their training, he pushed me hard, and he always told me I needed to be strong like my father. Sometimes I ask myself why he did not push my brother that hard,” Grey said as he shook his head. “I understand now. I was just a weapon to him. I was nothing. He only used me for his benefit.”
Ariel squeezed his hands as he continued to speak.
“He is a very terrible person. He kills without mercy. He does not give second chances to people. However, he gave me second chances but I know it was not because I'm related to him but because he does not want to lose his best Angel catcher but right now I'm so grateful that he gave me a second chance. If not, I would never have met you,” he said, smiling at Ariel before he continued. “Nobody in the demon zone speaks back at him for fear of getting killed.”
“Were you afraid of him?” Ariel asked.
“No, I only respected him because I believed he cared, however, now I know he does not. I have lost every respect I had for him. I only have hatred towards him because of what he did to my mother and the lies he told me.”
Ariel nodded her head. She does not know Grey's uncle, however, everything they had discussed about him made her want to beat the living existence out of him.
“I now understand why Josh usually says he would turn out to be the subsequent demon's leader if something happens to our Uncle. I never thought about it before but now I know it's because Josh is the legitimate son, and I was simply the son they use for their soiled work,” Grey said weakly. “My uncle is a brutal person. I was not surprised when my Mom said he gave me a scar when I was three. He is- “
“It's enough,” Ariel said, cutting the words out of Grey's mouth. “I don't want to hear about him anymore,” she added. “If I ever get to meet him, I will give him a smack on the face,” she said sternly.
“I would love to watch that,” Grey said as he kissed her softly.
“Let's go to sleep,” Ariel proposed.
Both of them laid on the bed and Ariel held onto Grey tightly as they drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, Ariel woke up to a still sleeping Grey. She kissed him softly. She was glad that he did not stir in the course of the night.
“Good morning,” Grey murmured.
“Good morning,” Ariel said as she watched Grey open his eyes.
Ariel smiled when he opened his eyes, however, she did not miss the way Grey's eyes roamed over her body.
“You are beautiful,” he said as he leaned forward to seal their lips.
Ariel did not protest as she kissed him back. She held him close as she continued to kiss him.
“Grey,” Ariel whispered as she pulled away. “Let's take our bath first,” she said.
“Okay,” Grey said as they stood up from the bed. He quickly picked up Ariel before she moved.
Ariel yelped in surprise as she wasn't expecting it. She laughed and kissed Grey before he carried her to the bathroom.
They took a quick shower and exited the bathroom. Grey did not even let Ariel put on her clothes before pushing her gently on the bed.
“Grey,” Ariel said softly. “We have to go downstairs for breakfast,” she added.
“I don't care about breakfast. It can wait,” he said as he sealed their lips together.
She held onto Grey tightly as he trailed kisses all over her body.
“Do you want this?” Grey asked, breathing heavily and looking at Ariel.
Even though he desired to go further, he would never do it without Ariel's permission.
“We can stop,” he said when Ariel did not say anything.
“I want this,” she said as she pulled Grey down and sealed their lips together.
Grey moaned as Ariel kissed him. He separated their lips and trailed kisses all over her body.
He slipped his tongue into her mouth, gently but demandingly. Every part of Ariel's body melted into Grey's.
Ariel wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling them even closer. Her veins throbbed and her heart exploded with joy.
As they continued to kiss, pure pleasure ran through their whole bodies.
They knew this was the moment that they had been ready for and without giving it a second thought they both gave in to the needs and desires of their body.
A few minutes later, both Ariel and Grey lay breathless on their bed.
Grey looked at Ariel with love in his eyes. He wrapped his arms around her physique and placed a kiss on her lips.
“I love you,” Grey whispered into her ears.
“I love you too,” Ariel answered with a smile.
They later left their bedroom and headed downstairs, holding hands.
“You guys are late for breakfast,” Elena said as she looked at them. “Long night?” Elena asked, smiling at her daughter.
Ariel shrugged but she did not say anything.
“Okay, come have your breakfast,” Elena said.
Ariel and Grey ate their breakfast in silence and exited the dining room after they were done ingesting their breakfast.
They were both heading to the living room before Grey’s eyes met with his Mom’s who was sitting quietly.
“I will right back,” Grey mumbled to Ariel.
Ariel followed his gaze to his mother. “Okay,” she said as she kissed his cheek.
Grey left Ariel's side and walked up to his mother. Anna lifted her head and looked at her son when he sat next to her.
“Hey, son,” Anna said with a smile. “Did you sleep well?” Anna asked.
“Yes,” Grey stated. “Are you alright mom?” Grey asked.
“Why do you ask?” Anna queried.
“You look quiet,” Grey pointed out.
“I'm fine,” Anna replied.
“Are you sure?” Grey asked.
Anna sighed softly as she stared at her son.
“Mom, please do not hide anything from me,” Grey pleaded with her.
Anna nodded her head before she spoke. “We will be expecting some people soon,” Anna said
“Who?” Grey asked.
“You will know soon,” Anna said. “Don't worry about that,” she added.
“Okay.”
“I will go meet Ariel now,” Grey said, standing up.
“Alright.”
Grey left. He made his way to his soulmate and sat next to her. Ariel quickly rested her head on his shoulder and Grey wrapped his arms around her.
‘I feel more closer to him now,’ Ariel thought.
“Me too,” Grey said out loud.
Ariel frowned a little. She was certain she did not say anything aloud. She shrugged. ‘Possibly, he was not replying to me,’ she thought again.
After a minute, she looked up at Grey who was occupied because of the TV.
‘I want to kiss him right now,’ Ariel thought.
“You can,” Grey spoke back.
This time Ariel sat up, straight making Grey look at her.
“Are you all alright?” Grey asked, seeing the confusion on her face.
“No,” Ariel said. “How did you know what I'm thinking?” she asked.
Grey looked at her with an amused expression. “Don't be silly. I do not read minds,” Grey said with a mild chuckle.
“Exactly,” Ariel said. “So, how were you able to answer my questions?” she asked.
Grey frowned at her a little. “I don't understand. You asked a question and I answered it,” he replied.
“I did not say any of my questions out loud,” Ariel stated.
“Really?” Grey asked, sounding bewildered.
“Yes.”
‘I wonder what this means,’ Ariel thought.
Grey was amazed he heard what she was thinking because he was looking at her and he knew she did not open her mouth.
“I just heard what you said,” Grey said.
Ariel looked at him. “Try to think of something," Ariel said.
Grey nodded his head before he thought of something.
‘I love you,’ he said in his mind.
“I love you too,” Ariel said aloud.
“Wow!” Grey exclaimed.
Anna, who had been peeking at them, noticed the confused frown they each had on their faces.
“Is everything okay with you two?” she asked.
The entire family flipped their heads to look at Ariel and Grey.
“I can hear everything she is thinking,” Grey said
“Really?” Elena asked with raised eyebrows.
“Yes, it is true, Mom. I can also hear everything he is thinking.”
Anna smiled at them. She was the only one not looking stunned by the revelation. “It appears you guys have moved further in your relationship,” she said with a massive grin, making Ariel blush as she averted her eyes from her parents.
“How does that have something to do with this?” Grey queried.
“Everything,” Anna replied. “Your bond is very special. Your minds are connected with each other via something called a ‘Mind Link’ and it has only strengthened, now that you two are connected on a deeper level,” she explained.
Grey knew he had heard the phrase ‘mind link’ before. He remembered Ariel telling him she contacted him through a mind link when she desired to see him but it was not as sturdy as it was at the moment.
He turned to look at Ariel with a smile on his face.
"I cannot believe this is happening," Ariel sounded surprised.
"Me too," Grey spoke back.
They were in their own little world, attempting to get used to the Mind link to avoid answering the questions they could not voice out loud.
“I now know the reason why you guys were late for breakfast,” Elena said, interrupting their mental dialogue.
“Mom!” Ariel warned.
“What?” Elena asked. “Can I have a word with you?”
“No,” Ariel said, laughing.
“But...”
“No mom,” Ariel said, getting up from the sofa and pulling Grey with her.
“Okay,” Elena said, putting her hands up in surrender as she laughed and watched them leave the living room.
